This is Iye on the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jagn Zalaz on Fox Sports fourteen fifty powered by Nova Insurance Services and Sure Your Most Prized Possessions kt z R two side at iHeartRadio Station. Hey, good afternoon, everybody. Welcome to Eye on the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Rivera. He's Jacobs as got our guy sit in today. Which is one of your last time you said last day? Ye, it is last day. Okay, maybe next week, but okay, then you're done. He's out

of here. He's bailing on us. Real world, in the real world a little bit. I would, I would, I would go to graduate school. It's easier stay just stay, says, stay as long as you can find a way to find a way. Uh, welcome to the show. Last one, so we'll let you talk because we don't have a second We don't have a second guest. Maybe you're a guest for the second segments. You didn't know that, you didn't know that this is our president to you. Hey, welcome. A lot of things going on today to see

who gets drafted, who doesn't get drafted in the first round. Yeah, you know, we we spend a lot of time talking about the draft. We really haven't talked about the Arizona guys. Who are you know, in position to get drafted? I think there's four? Right. You got Jordan Morgan, who is supposed to go in the first round. Uh, he's the only one this SPUs that, yeah, should be going to the first thing. You got Jacob Cowing, Mike Wiley and Tanner McLaughlin. The tight

end, right anymore? Is that it? I think that's it? And a pretty good group. Yeah, group. I would think they'd all get drafted. You just don't know when, right, you know, they all have an opportunity. Which would give me your order? Which which who goes first? Again? Third? Fourth? Oh? Hell, I don't know Morgan first? Yeah, well margin goes first. I think who's the who's the I think the tight end? I like him a Glachlin, I mean he's I like him at he You know, Jacob cons a little undersized,

but he's got speed, he can catch. He's a guy who can go over the middle and hatch some balls. And you know, Mike Wiley is you know, somebody's gonna have to see some value in him. And all the different things that really does. But that's what that's what his value is is that he can catch, he can block, you know, you know, he can run. While he's a grinder, he's been durable. I think you just gave me your order. I like that order that. I

think he tested well too. And then when scouts see him in person, how big he is reliable you can catch passes it under duress. Yeah, so I think it's it's exactly what you said, Morgan, the tight end, uh, the re receiver and then Wiley yeah, Caroling, Yeah, yeah, I think that's fair enough. It depends how long or how many days it takes for all of them to go. But that's how it starts today. It's one round today to tomorrow, right, and then the last

four on Saturday. Yeah, that's an all day thing. Or no, they go pretty quickly. That one goes really Yeah yeah, yeah, okay, no cool. We'll talk more about that later as the show progresses a lot of stuff to you. I'm sure you have some breaking news, right, you have a women's basketball players moving somewhere else? Oh, any of that? Yeah? I saw well one left in idea. Didn't mention her name, but someone she had to kick off is landed in a very very

good spot. Oh yeah, yeah, her, her, Yeah, we'll get you know this party, you will talk about it, okay, yeah, yeah, So we have our good guests in the first half. Right, John Fien is going to join us. He was the first round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills in nineteen ninety two, thirty one year, thirty two years ago. Well, we both covered him back in the day, and I woke up this morning thinking he might be around it, he might

be able to come back. He had him about a few months ago, right, yeah, And I said, okay, Jay, prepared to be the dumbest you and I to be the dumbest guys in the room every time. Uh, John gets in the room. You know, he uses big words and you know, yeah, a smart guy. He's a smart guy. So we'll have to you know, okay, smart guy, we're not okay, whatever you say, but a funny guy to tell, a great storyteller. Uh. So we'll get with him in the first hour and in

the second hour. Un that's something falls to the roof. Yeah, we have no guests. Yeah, we're just uh yeah, we'll just go. But everybody was busy today. All my people were busy today. Well we have a good show tomorrow. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay again if you want to call five two zero four one six seventy four forty. I got scolded a little today from a from by by a friend of mine who listens to the show and a lot of people. We've we've been told this

a lot. Jay, we don't what don't we do well on this show? We do everything. We will let me tell you wrong. We don't tell you say our interviews, interviewers, interview he's name fun enough when we're talking, Yeah, were talking to We are talking to a great interview but who are they talking to you? We're terrible at that. Yeah, so you know we just got a kind of just oh John Feina and today John Phenix here, John Feena, you'll say like everything. So we'll get better

at that. You know, we're always ready to im We've been scolded about that more than one right, right, so we should know better. Okay, So we have John Feinna and then who knows open lines? Open lines and second hour take your calls. I would love to hear what you thought think about the draft, all the movement of players. There's a lot of activity going on in basketball, Yeah, a lot of not you of ague just right, a lot all over the place. And then we have Sid

the kid finishing off his career here with us. He's got his Dodger gear on today. Yeah, your shirt on. So they're winning or losing either up one to nothing. We'll see how that goes at the end of the show. All right, Well, anything else going on in your mind? No, you know, I'm just uh, you know, coming up to

another end up another week. Uh, you know, we're starting to get to that uh, you know, at that point where you know things are happening, but it's it starts to slow down, you know, the frenzy. Yeah, you know, the draft is sort of a last thing for football. Yeah, you know, people, you know, we'll be moving on of course, the transfer portal, and you know you're still hearing things

about different people doing different things and stuff. But you know when that when that comes down, when the portal closes and that calms down, you know, we'll you know, we'll see how it Saturday, right or this weekend, doesn't it close again? Or no? Yeah, I believes May maybe it's closed on May one, So we'll see what happens. If they don't

declare, I think we we're settled with Arizona people. I think everybody at Arizona either they left to the NBA or they've gotten to the portal or whatever. Well, you know, all the guys that needed to get out or leave or whatever declare have done that. Yeah, so, uh, you know, the NBA playoffs are starting to kind of kick in. There's three games tonight. We we can talk about those. The the Suns are tomorrow, but they're down to zip about a too. Yeah, yeah, I

think it's well, home home, home court last night. Didn't tell Miami bet Boston that was that was that was and beat the hell out of them. Yeah. Yeah, and there's always a doubt if you lose a game, everyone says, well, see I told you they want that good. Yeah, Boston's pretty good. Yeah, and Miami's got one of those teams that they always show up in the playoffs or they show up once. Yeah, right once. So so we'll see what happens. He'll be surprised.

I think Boston was a favorite next three. Boston was a favorite one, right, yea, yeah, Boston was a favorite one at all. So you know, but I haven't watched much of it, So I watched a little bit of it without even gambling on it. Wow, the world is any one? It's cool today in the weather. Well, here's here's the deal. The Dodgers have been playing in the daytime. Oh, they're on right now, and they were on at four o'clock the last few days.

So by the time I got home, catch the last you know, half out of the Dodger game, and then put on the the NBA game. That's why I've seen something. Yeah, okay, there's a list here. I see. Maybe I'll pass it on to you. Said, top fifty players with nil deals. Don't even know how we find that out, because it's hard to put people to right. How the hell do you know?

I don't know. We need to talk about this. But did you see that there was a really really interesting article in the Athletic about Kaylyn Clark. No, no, well, I'm trying to get you to read the first one. Hell a shoe coach. I don't want to read about her. I was gonna ask you a question when the announcement that, okay, about her, she's you. What are you talking about? You that you need to read the story? God? Go go go go, no, never, I'm not not talking the rest of the day. We need another guess,

anybody want to come. We're on the corner of Fortibo talking to you. I'll I'm not talking to you. You got to read it, You'll say, yeah, I know what Steve was talking about. It was an interesting article and and you know, it tows that line of something you know that makes people uncomfortable, but it talks about the fact that you know, you can't that you know, Kaylyn Clark has got all this notoriety and she's

getting all these endorsements and stuff like that. And and while the writer, who's been very careful to say she she deserves all of this, right is it a male female? Who's the writer? A male Jim Trotter Okay, says, look, I'm saying she deserves it all. She you know, she's done incredible things for well, let's not forget or let's think about the fact that she's a straight white female in a in a black dominated uh L

g B t Q dominated uh professional professional league. Okay, and that you know she you know that that's the reason, that's a big reason why she's getting she's getting. And his point is point being just point being that there have been all these other players who have come along and have been great and

had opportunity. You know, they've been really great players, but because either they're black or they're gay, they're not getting what she's Okay, we talk about this, and I'll say this, and I'm gonna say this as carefully as I can without being whatever. Uh, life is not fair. It's not fair. What's your what's your last name? What's my last name? Said? I don't even remember your last name, Lucas, but I think you have some minority. Yeah, yeah, right, So we are what

we are. We have to beat or whatever. And I'm not this is what we do. I'm not saying say sorry to me or whatever. I'm not even I don't even look hispanic, so so people don't even say that. But not really not traditional, not traditional. You know what I'm saying, life is not fair. And and I'm sure Kate and Clark and she's acknowledges that she's thanked the people people before her. Well what else can you say? Right? No, there's any and and and that's what he that's

what the writers he said. You know, you can read this and think I'm trying to disparage her or disparage any not at all. I'm just making the point, sure that he's not the first person to do that. I'm just making the point that we can't, we can't not we can't sit here and ignore sure why this is one of the big reasons why this is happening. In addition to her talent, no question in fact that that her her, The attractiveness that corporations and what I have sure is because of what she

looks like and who she is. Who are off the court? Whose fault is that? Nobody's exactly. In fact, I read a story earlier this week about the shoe deal because she made a time of uh delead on the tall blonde woman. I think she's a gays no, no, no, before delodon she's a pretty good player. Uh I asked you, she's a fantastic player. She's white. They made the connection of three people or four people who have made shoe deals are all white. Yep. And what about

that? You know what I'm saying. So there's always a story or a storyline that you can kind of It's like it's like numbers. If you wanted to do a story of numbers, you use the ones that theer there the fit the narrative of the story, right, and this is what it is. I don't I don't fault the writer because that's what he wanted to write. Yeah. Uh, but it's corporate America. It's the world we live in. It's just corporate America. It's it's the world we live in America.

Right, turn on the TV right now, and you're going to see fighting countries, students right, left, right right. We'll never get along. Yeah, I mean, honestly, it's been how many years, hundreds of years, hundreds of years, thousands of you tomorrow's gonna change right, right, and and and again not you know again, we're it's This is one of the discussions I debated with myself as to whether or not I was

going to bring this. No, it's a good topic. I feel like like we need to but uh, you know, here, here, here's what. Here's a line it said, she's not only deserving of every every opportunity, but has also earned every endorsement deal that's been placed before her,

including a twenty million dollar pack that includes her own signature shoe line. But that being said, we should not delude ourselves into believing her appeal as an influencer is based solely on basketball, because it's not okay, okay, uh, your little said and you're eating that Oregano's up. Sorry to bother you, coach, but yeah, you're gonna bother you. And here's the story. Here's uh this this. She's a pretty good player, pretty good player.

But but but she's a white girl who plays basketball. And on top of which she's from the Midwest. Right, there's no right or wrong. If you get it, if you have an if you have if you have a U a subscription to The Athletic. It's worth a read by James Trotter. Came out today. For Jim Trotter. It's a great story in terms

of its thoughtfulness. It's towing a very uncomfortable subject and it puts it out there in a way that you're not gonna sit there and say he's a racist or where right right right, It's just saying this is what it is. And if we're different, differ thinking it's not, then your your your sorely mistakes, Well, then that's me. That means he did a great job of too. I thought I thought he really did. And that's that's not true. It's not and it's not easy to do. He backed it up

with facts. There were a lot of facts in there. Aren't you glad you're not getting it into this business? Yeah, that's what I wanted to get into, of course, of course. Yeah. It was really good. It's a good story. Look at I'll read that before you read the most story. Forget, I'm just not reading the multi story. You gotta read. It's a fantastic story. Maybe because you'll know more about her, that's it. I don't want to know more about it. But you know

that's exactly because it's your your your opinion is skewed. It's not it's not right opinion. It's just this. And then you'll say, oh, that's what Steve is talking about. Let's go, let's go, we gotta get to let's take our break. We're gonna have John Penol just talk about draft day. Here on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. I'm Steve Rivero, He's Jacob zawis now on the phone. We have John Fina nineteen ninety two NFL number one draft pick. How are you doing Johnson? Hey? Hey, I'm doing great. How were you a draft day, baby, Draft day, Baby? What was going through your mind that day? For you?

I was just hoping to get drafted. I was thinking maybe third or fourth round, and I was excited to be there. Okay, so you were surprised. I'm guessing how surprised were you were you? Did you have any I mean, any idea that you were going first round? The only inkling I had was a workout I did with Bill Belichick who said to me that he couldn't He was upset because he couldn't draft me at fifteen and he said,

You're a first rounder and I'm gonna miss you. So that was the first time I thought, Holy cow, I got a shot at this thing. How close was the draft by that time? Oh, this was probably in March when he came to Phoenix to work me out. Wow, So then you must have impressed another one or two for sure by the time the draft came. Well, you know, I think once you get past the second round, everybody sort of is in the same boat, right. The

teams don't really tell you. You got a bunch of people like me and you and Jay who make a draft board, and guests and guests and guests. But until you until draft day comes and that team has a pick. You don't know where you are on their draft board. So were the Bills on your radar? Did you know that they were that interested in you that that could happen? What did you know about what they were thinking? I really didn't know much of anything. I mean, they sent a scout out.

He was one of probably about sixteen scouts that I met with, and we did a simple little drill, a foot speed drill that took about five minutes. He packed up his gear, said thank you and left. I didn't know if that was good or bad or what. And I really didn't have any contact with the team. I did get I did take a visit to Denver and meet with meet with those coaches, But beyond that, I mean, there was never really any talk about where you were going to go.

You must have ensured those feet for a lot of money, that's right, baby, Yeah, you must be a good dancer. Okay, So you know you sounded really excited when you came on talking about Okay, it's a draft day. You know, how much fun have you had with draft

day? Knowing that it was a great memory for you? You know, how do you how do you absorb the draft, or how do you, you know, take it in well, first and foremost, you know, I'm a fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Arizona Cardinals, and I'm not one of these people that writes down or carves in stone the kids I think that they need to pick. I just I just let it all unfold. I let it come to me. I try to watch a few highlights here and there, and I just try to get excited for the kids to get

picked. You know, the NFL has turned this into an amazing spectacle and they have ramped it up beautifully. It's fun to watch, it's engaging, and it's ten times better than an NBA game. So where were you when when you got the call? Were you in Tucson? Were you doing anything? My agent had about seventeen to twenty players in that draft, and they had rented a ballroom up at the Princess Resort in Scottsdale. So we had a big breakfast and everybody kind of sat in the ballroom with the TV on

and we just kind of sat around and watched the draft. Were you his first guy to go? Probably first guy within his group? Yeah, the second guy was the second rounder linebacker out of Florida named Spatotski, and then a couple other guys got drafted, and then a bunch of guys did not wow. Well, so okay, then I think I'm not one hundred percent sure. We've talked about this, but I'd like to know what happens after that. You're a number one pick, so they're going to want to make

a big deal that you're a number one pick. So what were the days like after that? When did you go to Buffalo and you know, start doing media and all that kind of stuff. Well, back in those days after the draft, you had a mini camp within a week. So I think I got drafted on a Saturday, and then I was flying to Buffalo

within three or four days. You know, it's kind of a whirl when you say send you a ticket, you get off a flight, you get off the flight, there's somebody there to pick you up, draft you off at a hotel and tell you they'll be there at six am. And you know, for four days, your head is spinning. You don't know what the hell you're doing. And it's Buffalo, New York in April, and it's it's thirty six degrees and you think where in the Sam Hill am I

And you're probably thinking, my life just changed for the best. Oh it was, it was incredible. I loved it. You know. Nowadays what they do is they fly in probably their first and second round picks the day after. So whoever your team picks, the team jet will be at the tarmac the next morning and you are flying all the way back to your de city and there's going to be a lot of fanfare and it's a lot more exciting now. And I think, you know, because the fans want availability

to the players, they do a lot more showcase with the fans. They get the fans riled up, amped up, and then they just try to keep that excitement rolling. Yeah, yeah, right, I mean it has become, you know, quite a spectacle, and it is it's going to be again, you know, the next couple of days, starting in a little in about an hour and a half. Do you like what it's become? Is that cool? Is it fun? You? You know? Is

it interesting to you? I do like what it's become because when they have the kids live in the green room and when they have them walking up to the stage, and it's become such a great production I think the fans really get engaged, and you know, look, it's a business, right They want to sell jerseys, hats and tickets and create all kinds of fun online with fantasy football, and that's the business. But I think they've done it

in a way that is approachable, friendly and enjoyable for the fan. I was going to ask you this might be it's a hypothetical because it doesn't make sense right now, but how life changing was it? And I asked this because what if you had not been drafted at all or even played in the league. You're a smart guy. What would you have done otherwise? Well? I was pre med at Arizona. I was a Spanish miner. I took a lot of in literature study courses, and I my entire life I

thought I was going to be a doctor like my dad. I thought I'd be in practice with my pops and fixing knees and hips and ankles and things like that. So, you know, had I not been drafted, or if I went to a camp and didn't make a team, I probably would have been, you know, taking the mcat and trying to get into medical school. I told you he was smart. I told you you know it's still early. You know, your son's over u c l A been a

couple of years. The other son doing some great stuff. Are you talking to him about any of this yet? Is it too early? Is it maybe not for you? I mean, how are you walking your son through his experience based on what you what you experienced? Yeah, man, that is a great, great question, right And what I tell Bruno is, if you want to play in the league, you forget about the league right now and you focus on everything you can do to get yourself better right now,

right here. All of that stuff, all that stuff will take care of it. But keep in mind there's about one hundred and fifty things that have to go right right before you even get to the draft or before you get a free agent contract. There's you know, it's nice to dream big as long as you're doing your knitting at home. Yeah, that's a great point. This is probably a silly question, you know, do you see that potential in him to you know, be that guy and you know,

be an NFL player, maybe even be a first round pick. Does you have your feet? What do you see so far? Well, he has the potential as an athlete, he has the potential. You know between the ears, he's an incredibly smart kid. I think, you know, we're most proud of him for the fact that he's carrying a three six three seven gpa UCLA uh in business economics. So I think that what he doesn't fall

into the line with a lot of measurables for tackles in the NFL. But if nowadays, if you can be a guy who is a resource at four positions, you know, maybe maybe right tackle, both guards, and center, you have an inherent value to a team because you can only really activate you know, seven or eight offensive lineman on a weekly basis. So a guy like that who can spread himself across the organization is a is a huge

value. And it starts with brains, it finishes with your athletic ability, and uh, you know, I think because of that, he definitely has a chance. I wouldn't say first round, second round. Uh you know, we've seen We've seen enough stories of guys that have gone seventh round or undrafted who become real impact players in the league. I was gonna say, well, you know, Jordan Morgan, Arizona guy he's in, he's sort of a position that you ended up being in. He's considered a first round

maybe a late first round draft pick. If you're sitting with him right now, an hour and a half before the draft, what would you be telling him? Oh man, I'd be telling him it doesn't matter if you're in the first round or the second round for what's going to come next. When you're on the field, be on time, be ready to work, and you know, be flexible. Jordan's a great looking kid. I mean, he can play both tackles. I think he can fit in at guard extremely

well. He's got the form for it. I mean, my wish for Jordan Morgan is to take my title to get drafted twenty six or earlier and be the first two sow in, you know, drafted offensive line in the first round, best position. You know. I would love for him to take that mantle away from me. Yeah, no, great, great, good for you. Let me ask you if we could. You're in a spot where you didn't receive nil many many years ago, but your son has that chance to what do you think the world we live in? What do

you think about it? With the nil? Well, you know it's a pendulum, right, So twenty five years ago, if you asked me what they were doing wrong is I'd have said they need to double their scholarship checks, they need to give them five thousand dollars into an IRA and let them buy Cobra insurance as if they were an employee for the rest of their lives. And you probably would have seen it evolve into a reasonable format, unlike what we have today, which is a wild wild West. So what do

I think about it? I think it's good. I think its current form is a little out of control. But I think it'll re C two a with a chokehold on an asset that creates revenue for which they don't see any realized gain from. Right. Yeah, No, it's crazy. Like you

said, it's absolutely it's absolutely nuts. So so do you ever have a chance to talk to the other Arizona guys too much about all of this, you know, the experience that you that Gland, some of the other you know, some of the other high draft picks that you know at Arizona have

had, and what this is like for them. Not really, I mean, when the old guys get together, you know, interestingly, we talk more about our college days and we talk more about the friendships and the camaraderie that we had in college, because when you get to the NFL, you are a team, but it's not the same type of atmosphere. The environment is a little bit different. It's almost like your contract workers. You want to keep together as a team, but in college you're able to corral some

of the personalities and keep things from getting out of control. And I think there's a greater understanding that the team effort in college is probably, you know, a bigger benefit to an entire team than a few stars. Yeah, no question. Let me ask you real quickly, because we talked. They had the poll in the NBA toughest coaches to play for? Who would you rather play for? All that stuff. Who was your toughest coach? And how was it and how did you deal with it? Yeah? I was

lucky. I didn't have that kind of coaching in the NFL. That was just over the top, too many collisions, yeah, trying to kill you. In training camp. I did have a coach that I didn't think was a very good coach. But we weren't punished physically. We weren't forced to put ourselves in positions for injury. And I think that that that kind of looks back at the whole asset class, right, You can't. You can't put people out of commission when the when the labor pool is so small in

college. Thankfully it's evolved such that they don't have the collision collisions anymore, just because it's the right thing to do, right. You can't just go out there and beat each other to death every day, even though you've got guys on the second, third, and fourth team. I think it's a much better way to run the game now. I'm not convinced that the lack of preparation and hitting is leading to fewer injuries. It might be leading to

more. I think there's got to be a comprehensive study out there about that. But I could tell you, as a player going through it, I appreciated a more cerebral and measured approach to training camp than a you know, than a than a battlefield approach. Yeah hear that? Yeah? I can't even imagine you know what that had to be lying right? Right? Right? Okay, Well, thank you John on your feet for being an NFL number one draft pick. Guys. I love it. I love hanging out

with you. I'm a excited for the draft, and anybody listening whoever your team is. Just trust that their leadership knows just a little bit more than you and they're trying to win a super Bowl, and let him make those decisions and put the right team together you're hoping for. I have it this day in baseball history for you. Go ahead, forty third, forty eight years ago, forty eight years ago. Give me the year. God, I'm not gonna go backing seventy six. Oh okay, well I couldn't get this right in your wheelhouse. Okay, this stay in,

this stay in in baseball. It involves it involves the Dodgers. Ooh h Dodgers has all was a big d Reads fans seventy six. They were a fantastic team. Uh they had a Dodgers were good to you back then. So uh, some don't do not know. It also involves the Cubs. I don't know something that happened during the Cubs Dodgers game. I don't know those guys that tried to set a flag on fire at during the game at Dodgers Stadium. And Rick Monday, who was playing center field for the

for the Cubs. I think I snapped the flag. I've seen that. I've seen them to highlights somebody. Yeah, yeah, let's take this call. Hi, you're on the air and on the ball. Hey, what's up, guys? Is big Vick? What's up another Dodger? Oh no, he Vic, damn baby, I was good. Watched it for eight years ago. Today, Vic, we were just talking about it. Rick Monday grabs the flag in centerfield. The guys are trying to set off fire, remember that. Yeah, like yesterday yeah, that they get. I'm

just brought it up because they were talking about it. I was listening to the Dodger game on the way in and Rick Monday was was talking about all the stuff that came with that. But anyways, Yeah, I wanted to touch on the Caveman things and I kind of wanted to get Steve is kind of right. It's uh, it's kind of the way of the world. You gotta fight through it. I think you guys know, I'm from California. We lived in East LA and had to travel to Orange County or in

the fire to play softball because that's where, you know. We played on all white teams. We're the only two Mexican girls there. And sometimes it was tough and sometimes then you get a fair shot. I have a my little cousin that I think I've told you played at modern day. He would score twenty points and Brook demetior that Stamford now with four ten and Brooke would get the player of the game, and you'd wonder, like, but but

it goes always a look at Snoop Dogg. He's transitional now and Grandma's and I will love the guy. Yes, and a guy was a crip and a murderer or alleged murderer, and how did how did he break that down those barriers? Yeah, and you know, and it takes certain kind of people to do that because there's a lot of people who help the barriers stay up with with the way they do things as well. And you know,

we we know that. But yeah, no, it's it, and it's it's a thing that that will you know, We've always struggled with it. We'll continue to struggle with it. We struggle with it in this country every freaking day. But my thing is, though, guy, if you're a good person like Caitlin, it's good with kids, And why does it matter if you're white, black, or indifferent? You know, that's the that's the whole. That's it right there. It shouldn't it shouldn't, but it

does, but often does. And you guys know much. I love women's basketball. I go to all the games and and all those girls. Man, they come out and shake hands with all the fans that they pictured and all that. How else are you gonna get your selfies? Yeah, there you go, that's right. So, but I just want to throw my two cents in. I'm a fan and I think I always will be. I. I love that kid's game, and I love her personality even more. Yeah. No, And if you're if you're a corporate person, you

want your your symbol or your product to be sold. Why not? Right exactly? Heck yeah, why not? You know my next million I'm giving to you guys as a sponsorship. So you guys are so good looking and personable. Well, don't let it us, but just do the million, don't. You don't have to let us to give to it. But hey, thanks for a good call. I'm kind of right. He just thought I was right. He just got backed up my theory. We got our second guest for the second hour, Corey Williams, or I had. I'll

show you why why, I asked him on the break. Okay, all right, we'll get Corey Williams to join us here in the second hour. But you know, and look, we could talk. It's a touchy subject for a lot of people. It is it is. It makes people uncomfortable. But on the other hand, there sometimes you have to talk. Sure, sure, like I said, the guy must have towed the line perfectly in the middle. Uh uh? And is there a right or wrong answer?

Probably not. Yeah. I mean probably you can tell because there's nobody raging at him from either side of the argument. On social media, people more more people say you got to read this because it makes a lot of sense. That's what it does, right, Okay, Okay, no, good, Good to talk to John Fena. We'll see the It starts one now soon, five o'clock, five o'clock. Okay, after our after the show ends. Yeah, after our show, the program comes on, so

we won't have we won't have a draft pick before we leave. Okay, good, So we have Corey at about four eighteen. We'll talk about the college basketball season that was he has. He had a great meme on his Facebook page today. I said's let's talk about that because it's very true. All right, let's take this call, all right, on the air and on the ball. Good afternoon, you guys. This is Gabe. How

you guys are doing? Good? Gabe? Do we need to put our thumb on the old, the du the dumb button for a customard here or no? I'm not going to say my favorite war and starts with the D and what's the app? Yeah? Thank you? What's going on? How's everything going Arizona related? Well? We're just kind of waiting for news. We have the spring game, right, I'm sure you'll be looking at that or hopeful for that. We're waiting for the transfer portal to come through for

for Arizona, both men's and women's. Yeah, I'm surprised. Well, Jay, knock home wood for me because I'm out in about so please knock on word hopefully. You know. Judas Fish didn't doesn't catch up in Washington. So Brennan so far, uh so good with with allowing players to uh stay at Arizona. And he's the right coach. I'll tell you what. Right now, you need to Fish. You need to write for a comedian or something like that, because you're just cracking me up with some of that

stuff. Judas Fish. Judas Fish, I like that. I like that. I'm surprised you haven't heard of that. I haven't haven't heard of that. I haven't heard of it at all. But that's a good one. So Arizona has so in football related Arizona have fisteen scholarships, uh open. I was it may be fewer because I think they've gotten a couple of guys, but I don't. It's something it was in that it was in that range. Yes, So I'm guessing Brett Brennan has has a lot of to

tell the players who are in the transfer portal. Hey, we have open spotsible youth, so come in and fail up our positions. And honestly, Tommy Lloyd basketball player from the transfer yesterday. So yeah, and another I still I think I called you guys a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't a week ago, and I basically said that Funeral Layer Arizona is eventually gonna have their players being being being played being employees. I think that still needs

to happen right right now? Yeah, you did? You did? I think it might eventually be looked at down the road with everybody because if you have one or you know what, it's just it's either gonna happen all you know what, what's gonna What when it's gonna happen? Uh uh gave is when the court orders it to happen. That and that's a possibility and that and that's that's impressed. We're still might be a year maybe two years away from that, but it's ultimately going to happen. That's the only way to

fix what's going on here. So Gabe, let me ask you a quick question. I know, after games you've talked to another radio show or not. Have you been cheating on us? I suppose local radio. Good local media. Good answer, good answer, game good. Well, we got to hit that button. Be careful. Thank you gave thanks about I appreciate it. Always did he say what I thought? He said? I'm no, yeah, okay, you did. Okay, you did. I guess

that's okay. Well, I don't know chake that in the book. I mean, I gotta go into the FCC book to see that's the word that's allowed. That was good to talk to Gabe. Listen to listen to game man. Have you are you looking at the pictures of what the draft looks like in Detroit? Because they just they have it. It's like at a big outdoor bandstand. There have to be a half million people there. I mean, it's it. It looks like one of those Uh have you ever

been in Detroit? Well no, it looks like one of those you know, super Bowl parades or whatever, right right, just a massive people. Yeah, go to have fun. Be careful. Yeah, I've been to an arbor or you know a couple of those driven in got out. It's too damn cold. Yeah yeah, yeah, okay, so you're gonna have breaking news in about four or five minutes. I have the I have.

I was referring to this at the beginning, the UH Top fifty college basketball players rankings in the highest from the highest NIL deals at least six hours ago. There's a surprising guy at thirty four. But I'll give you explanation of home we go to that, you know, unless you want to talk about it now, pretty okay. So I wanted to look just here to see if I an Arizona players who would be at thirty four basketball? If it's in Arizona, it's an Arizona player, the like I mean, like you.

It could be somebody who's maybe gone, or somebody who could be for the last last year's team. Jade Brad no love love thirty four. Here's the kicker. Here's the kicker. Current NIL evaluation, undisclothed, undisclosed. So how did you get to thirty four? If you don't even know then he Yeah, you're just assuming this or what you put him on thirty four, but don't have his numbers? What school had the number one? I'm going down just to see if But that was my first one, going from

top fifty to one thirty four. I stop because it's kiddle Bluff. But they don't give you a number. What's the point in that? Yeah, I don't know, because these guys aren't talking about it unless they unless it comes out publicly, you know, because somebody. Yeah, I have no idea, honestly. Well, it's kind of like trying to do a you know, inn early top twenty five for next year when you don't know exactly for anybody, right, But because that's what that's what we're seeing right now.

They're all doing these you know, top twenty fives in in in all the sports you don't even know who's playing, right, I'm just gonna go back down. We got two minutes, don't mind me. Who's Who's Twitter feed? Is that on? It's a it's a Is it a story? Or is it a a? Is it a post? It's suppose you know it's a story. It's a story. I'm on MSN MSN dot com and it comes up. These kind of have random type of things. Sometimes they're legit. Sometimes they're kind of like what and this is yeah, it comes

on my my website no matter what. And it's just kind of strange because there's no there's no ooph to it. I mean, it's just like numbers, somebody making stuff kind of well, kind of like the Twitter world that we listen to, you know, Barstool Sports and all that stuff is just one guy's opinion. Yea, where you get it right, right exactly?

I've got I've gotten caught a couple of times where I, you know, put you know, retweeted something and then somebody comes, hey, guys, that was that's a fake that's an onion type of Yeah, that's a fa it's a fake Twitter account, right, you got busted. But it happens. But no, I you know, I don't know one of the things that they want to do, and I don't know how they'll I don't know

how you can require that. One of the rules are trying to write into this if if, if they become employees is how much everybody's getting paid? Sure, sure you got another one number three number three? So are they are they recording that he's getting the one point two million? They're saying current valuation? This is this is what one million program Indiana? Okay, yeah, I guess that evaluation is different from that's how much. Yeah, well

evaluation, that's what their measurement by. They had nothing for Caleb. Now he's number three. Obviously number one is obviously Ronni James four and a half. But bollow, holy craft. You know, did you see Balla play the sure Oh never mind, never mind. He's gonna break before I get in. Tried to, you know, let's stop, all right, We're gonna take a break and we're gonna come back. So it's gonna bring us some breaking news, and I hope it's good because we've been bad so far. We'll be right back.
