You came in and saying these expectations, high high expectations from whom from the media. Six or seven wins is not him? Absolutely no. You said you we're gonna win six. You yourself sins yes. I said yes, yes, and I have my expectations. So where we're in
an end game expectations is eight nine week. Just know for this team, six or seven wins could get us to a bowl game with the victory over a su it's building momentum. Here's the thing he said it in the break that you're not understanding. He just said, when you're in the game, we what how did you word it? We take it on the chin? We do? We take it on the chin. And you're the fan. You're the guy that makes excuses masses. I don't, Chris, you're coming,
that's the problem. But the guy on the internet told me, I don't give a crap. I'm neutral. I don't. I don't go to school years. But then I covered the team neutraly, I don't. I just get I get amused and amazed by you guys who are way on one side, unrealistic about the expectations. What the caller said is we had no business to be in this game. We're actually in the game. So he's satisfied with that performance. I don't like what we're done. Like we said,
we're done being the bridesmaid. Right. Wait, we want to get married. We want to be like the passion, that's extration, that's the heart takes do we are freaking you out? We have leaders here for you because you don't understand that passion are giving you Typically is like we were sick of taking it on the Why can't we be the bullet? Who's your who? You are? You are for basketball? I love the basketball team, but everybody is for football. No, I grew up in Well, I
went to high school in Pasadena. We got to see that. You said, like Bruins play every other weekend. So that was my basketball football. But that was that was Troy eight kind of football was there? Kind of mean? I mean we're still top twenty or they were still top twenty. Yeah, oh yeah, I forget about that. But I'm saying they're they're okay, they're okay, they're not the old they're not stories. Yeah, you're not yours on a football fan No, you're smarter than that. Yeah,
exactly, I'm not. I'm not saying in the bay you just want to kind of live your life and not be packed. Exactly. I'm not gonna just stop my life watching the thing because I know kind of the outcome, right, And like you said, a sakes game like that doesn't sound like a lot of wins, but apparently for this type of program it would be huge. That's that's the definition. Point. Well, what's the point. I don't get it. You have higher expectations in the real reality.
If the number was Vegas set the number of five and a half six wins, Okay, that's not I mean, that's that's not that's not that's not not realistic. Now it might it might be. Now you're saying eight, seven, eight wins. No, I'm saying anything over seven or eight would be huge. That's high expectations. I'm saying I can found the sick change like the seven, But how epic would have been had we one night that then then then we're talking six seven wins seven probably okay, and that's over
the hump. Yeah, And that's the frustration of being a football I don't think you do. I really don't. That's okay. Now he's telling me what I think. Yeah, but you're like that cuts button just in case. But it's just it's you just said it. We're just I'm sick of taking it. I get that. I don't know the guys should be that we are. But you put us in there. You put us in a situation on the road against the Mississippi Sate team that came in here and beat
us last year twenty four seventeen or whatever. I actually not a man handle this last year person. The man handle that score was not because close as the game was. You're in the game there and you have a chance to win. I mean, it's the same thing with any of you. Two weeks ago it was the most lethargic. It was like, here we go again. I think we're gonna lose that game. I didn't think that because you lose twice in you get fired, didn't you? You get more out
of this last game than you did after first week. There's nowhere to go but up after any you, Steve, Steve, see Julie, just to tell football works, Amphi has a better chot could be an any of you, Steve, there's nowhere to go but up against after any of you you're in, you're in an end game situation. You have a chance to win a game, and it's just historically we don't win those games. I don't care. The line was not could you tell tell him? I mean,
George, do you understand what I'm saying? We need like one day? Can we win that game? Is? Go over there? And that's what? What news? What headlines? Would it be like? Maybe a whole different scenario. Now we'd be like like who But that's the frustration game? It would it could have should have. makes me nervous. I mean that is you would ask me four weeks ago, I said five all along? So let me ask you guys a question. We go to the Big twelve next year, If you win the Big Twelve, that gets you into football. No, And I'm just say no, no, I'm just trying to figure out because you used to win the Pact Panto, you get to the rose Bow? Is is it winning that conference I'm not saying we're going does that get you into the play is? Like, No, I'm not talking about us. I'm saying, what is
the winner of that conference? Is that get you into the playoff? Birth there's still bowl game allotments for that. It depends how capable or did you have they ever make a rosebow? Still with my question, sure, okay, sure if they're aligned with the tournament. Kansas has a beast of a
quarterback, so that's probably not that kid. Have you seen the kid from Kansas heeas you're talking, you're talking, I'm talking about the winner of the Big Twelve'm not talking about US as we go into the Big twelve because I've heard Jay on this show say a Big twelve favors us more than the Pac twelve. This the conference is heavy, Like Oon State's got one of the best defenses in the Oregon State as one of the best defenses in the country. It's just constant, like it's the one position I want to see us really excel at. And I think, what do you do country music? It's like everything's depressing for you. I'm a uf A fan. It is depressing to be a uf A football fan. It's very depressing. It's depressing to be a Viking fan. Lose your team.
I don't see that's protein approach, approtein pro I don't have a team. I don't want to yell and scream like you. I'm not young. I'm making fat, I'm making giving you pot. I live a nice Sunday. the top? Yeah, but I think that the UFA football fan is frustrated and to not be over the top now and it doesn't change, doesn't change, And that's just the thing, you know. So I mean, well, well, we'll see where this program goes. you had them at six inside, but now I have them. But now I know Colorado's going to be the talk of the country and the rest of the conference is pretty darn good. You didn't think that was gonna happen, now, and what did you have them at five. Yeah, I had five or six, there was one a couple of games Oregon State, I didn't. I may have had them over Oregon stated in my initial pick.

real quicken. It was minus two twenty for Mississippi State to win. So I was like, well, there's no way now you're gonna gonna win. Then the other teams cut the balls, they're gonna drive down and kick ape over something that gets over. So I put a hundred bucks on Mississippi
State knowing I wasn't going to jink anything. We're already kind of justin, and I was like, cool, watch the rest of the game, and I was sweating my cat when over time and I was even like, well, you know, if if I lost one hundred bucks because of it, I lost one hundred bucks because of are awesome comeback and stuff? But is that we launched and I end up making forty seven bucks on the side.

It's it's definitely exciting. I was talking to a buddy who who goes to games normally, and you can't go anymore. They're like five hundred dollars tickets worth. Last year, you can probably walk up for
a buck. Yeah, so let me ask you a question, Mike, real fast, if it big Colorado State at Mile High Stadium, and then they're three and oh and then they they have to play Oregon. They believe, Yeah in Oregon. What do you do? You do you pump the brakes after Oregon? If it's if it's a route or what if it's close? What do you think the perception will being bolder than if it's if it's thirty eight, ten or what if it's you know twenty what? Well,

de one. We're going to get all these influence and new players. It's getting me incredible, and instead of being part of the team, they're all junked right. The funny thing about it is others coaches do this, they just don't do it right right. That's the thing. They chased players the way. There's no new guys come
in. They want their own yetta. Yet they don't go eighty five deep and the learner and his assistant with eighty five new players. Right. So the way he did it was I killed the one that was primetime, So yeah, very fun. How many people can do that? I mean it's Dion. He's got the credibility. He took an incredibly small team and a school and put him on the map and did it incredibly well. And did it, you know, to the best of my knowledge or no issues at
the school. It seems like he ran a clean program. And the hope is as a lumm, I'm mentioning my my wagon to him. How fast is this team in person? Mike? How how fast are they on the field in person? Must be the first week you had four guys, four receivers, you go through over one hundred yards of piece. Yeah, their question quick? They're fast, So let me the first yesterday was really slow. I mean it was thirteen nothing now, but I mean I mean team
speed. I mean in the last few minutes, I mean team speed. How how quick is el cool is it to watch them in person? They're very super fastest team, right? Their team speed is amazing. It definitely looks like that. You're watching the quarterback and he's just all over the place. He's one of those can't bring down guys. I don't like to make analogies that people play like Michael Vick. I don't like talking about Vick anymore, but he's that type of exciting. Let me ask you to both you
and George. So you're in the card business, des card I'm sure's out there. Is it worth more now than it was before? Yeah? It literally is right just pricing on nine score and it used to be like a five six dollars card and it's not through the roof, it's not going to buy you a stake in Vegas. But now it's about a twenty dollars card. And he hasn't hasn't caught a ball, he hasn't kicked anything off, he hasn't run a punt back. But and that's on the National about this

just came up. He hasn't shown shown incredibly well, but the fact that he got brought up this year is very encouraging. We have a lot of people are looking at Holiday, Matt Holiday's son who literally got drafted this year and is up to Triple A. There's talked to the Tigers may actually bring him up. So even though he hasn't played a game in the majors yet, there are people who keep his cards. Elie de la Cruz, as you mentioned a couples to everybody this whole season. Well, let me ask

couple of decades, and so let me my son's perspective. My son will actually now tell people what I do for a living. Right, So let me ask you guys this question to the average person that wants to collect cards that's not really into the breaking pin and not that savvy. You walk into a Walmart or you walk into it wherever, are you what kind of packs? Because I see packs going for tops, chrome or Bowman, I see them going for thirty dollars. Long gone? Are the three ninety nine packs
with the bubblegum. But for the average collector, are you gonna pull something big at a from a from a baseball pack at a at a Walmart? And if you are, what collection is what? What should we be looking for you? In baseball? Is it still tops chrome? Is it? What is it? Well, for most people, it's gonna be top chrome. It's gonna be Bowman chrome. That's for baseball. For football, it's probably gonna be football and basketball's crowd, you're gonna be prism optic, mosaic.
I'm gonna I'm gonna go a little bit different if I may. When when somebody comes to my shop and then let me know that their first time collector. I start off from the fun perspective. You could open a box and you can pull the biggest card and yes, maybe put one of ones into the packs and the target Walmart, three jail locations, those are possible. They do put incredible autographs inside of them. But I want to know why somebody wants to collect, and I work with people to make sure that
they leave my shop satisfied with their purchase. And that could be maybe they've always liked Don Mattingly and I want to make sure that they leave here with a box if they want to, but I want to make sure that the leading here that's Don Mattingly cards, something that connects them to their youth, something that the coolest thing is. We get fathers. You're coming with their
sons and daughters. We have mom who coming with their sons as well, and I want to make sure that they're leaving here not with an expensive box. Was something that they're going to be in, that they're going to enjoy. I want their first visit. I want every visit to lead into them wanting to come back and collect. And even if they don't collect in my shop, I still want to create a collector somebody who has a great first experience. Yeah, I want to collect. It won't Beiaba, I don't
