This is I on the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzalez on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen powered by Nova Insurance Services. Hey, sure your most prized possessions katz R two side in iHeart radio station yet. Hey, good afternoon, everybody. Welcome to I on the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Rivera, no Jay Gonzalez today, so all it is gonna be with Sammy and Me. Today was their TV show, Sammy and Me.

I don't know, I've been watching TV that one. Hey, happy to be here, No good, I'm glad you're here because otherwise we wouldn't be doing this. I don't do that thing you do over there, So we're glad to have you, Sammi. Hey, happy to be here. All run the board and talk some sports with you. Sammy. I think Jay's out, No truth through the rumor that he's out, because he went zero for five last weekend. It would be a little upset to come on here

and talk. I got another weekend. I think he's embracing his difficulties. Yeah, and I think last week didn't he try to go against his heart and brain? Well he did. He did it for one he did, at least for one game because what he wanted anyone, and then he lost the other ones. So it might he might have to go to the betting strategy of just paid what you think right right right, and people who know know exactly what you just said. Okay, welcome, welcome to welcome everybody.

Busy weekend for a lot of people. We had the Red Blue game on Friday, we had the big game on Saturday. I think he went to both, right, I did. I was at both. Will you go as a fan or you go as an observer like me this this past year as a fan the years prior to was covering the games Red Blues on my favorite for whom just for you atv Okay, okay, you were there. You were one of the kids we saw there. Yep, I didn't even recognize you. I was the head sports director down there. Okay,

nice, it's nice, very stuff. It's very smart of you to be doing exactly what you're going to try to do in the real world. Yeah, thanks and being here's guarantees though, no, no, never guarantees. Yeah, we'll talk about a lot of different things. We'll talk about that. We have Brian Peterson coming in from from Desert Swarmasy Desert Swarm should that should be fun? And uh, and then in the second half, we're

gonna have Adam Lazarres from Arizona Assists. He had a big deal going on Friday with the ex Cats that were here and a lot of the fans. They had a big function before and after the game. I wanted to see how that went and see how Arizona assist is moving along with the basketball program as they start the season here soon. Okay, So so you went to the games. Did you stay? You for all of them? Both of

them. I stayed for all of them, both of them. I really Obviously the three point contests Friday and then contest is fun and all the hoopla around it was really fun. But I was more interested in what we were going to look like. Obviously some new guys. kJ Lewis look good. Yeah, I'll talk about him a little bit. But and Kyl and Boswell finally getting the starting point guard job hopefully, and then Caleb Blove. I was interested to see what he was going to look like in a University of

Arizona, Jersey. And just more and more Ballow seems to keep getting a little bit better. He got better. He got the biggest thing with me would blow. I don't know if you saw him in the trip that they took, he looked heavy and lumbering. He didn't look heavy and lumbering now, which was surprising to me because I want to know how he lost that

weight, because I couldn't try to lose that weight. Yeah, I mean it helps when he's twenty two years old, he's probably got some of the best people in his corner telling him want to eat, what where to work out. But he like, like you mentioned, he looked limber. He looked more athletic might not be the right word. He's always been mobile an athlete, But I think it was Kelli Larson through him Aliyop and he caught it one handed, slammed it like we were kind of used to seeing a

little last year. I put a note of it as though, if if he can just be who he is consistently. I know last year he was really great some games thirty and ten rebounds and he would be an animal, and then some games it would wouldn't get in double figures, have trouble rebounding the ball. But I think the absence of a Zulus Tabellis this year might

free him up to well, there's they're gonna be. They're gonna be a lot of big dudes out there, a lot of big You saw them play altogether two at times both gets each other too, but the three seven footers doing what they do. But he looked very impressive. I was more impressive with this as athletically you were talking about and his weight loss and his kind

of will to get ready for the for the year. Yeah, and now it's kind of Pelly Larson and Umar Balo might have to just be the leaders this year because last year you had, I mean, Kirk Criso would try

to take over that leadership. And I think those two guys in the locker room have to really preach what Tommy Lloyd's been trying to teach because they've been in his system for two or three years now, and they the new guys and even Kylan Boswe who's been there for a couple of years or yeah, a year now though the new guys will look to them to be like, Okay, how does Tommy coach? And by now they've realized it a little

bit. But when we get into the first couple of weeks and Pac twelve play and it's Tommy has a certain way of coaching, and some players are up to the challenge and some might not be so following Pele will need to somewhat be leaders. So let me ask you this, because you made this observation, what do you see from his from his style of coaching? What do you mean by that? Yeah, I think each and every great coach in college basketball has a certain style or a way that they go about doing

business. I think you do see a very because of how many years he coached under marked few. You do kind of see a little bit of the system that he runs, and he tries to get the players that can play accordingly to a system. But again, he does have a lot of sets, and by sets, I mean the plays that he runs and the personnel in which he wants to put out there. You've seen that in the last couple of years with the international recruiting. He wants to recruit guys that can

can both. He really enjoys toughness in his players, and I've really noticed that. I think Pelly Larson's a great example. Kylan Boswell is very tough. Caleb Love even in the first I watched him a little bit in the trip they took Overseas. He's very He's a very tough guard, and that's what it takes to win in college basketball. You need tough guards, you need tough players. Yeah, well they haven't had that forever, right exactly,

And so I think that's something that he's trying to establish. And I think he has done a decent job in his first couple of years here getting the players that he wants to be sure, no question, but your toughness is noted because they need that. Whether it happens, you could be tough, but if you get a tough team that's tough for you, your toughness means nothing. But no, that's good that you notice that. One of

the things that I really liked. And I didn't know if I started doing the game, but I liked him when I first saw him more than a year ago. More in a year goes Philippe, who who won the three point contest. Who knew we had that in him. But he's he's going to be a virtualtil guy. I'm not sure he's gonna start, but I think that he's going to be a big have a big impact on see that's really interesting because I was excited for him last year to see what he could

do, and there was no room. There was no room for him. And similar to the to Vassar, the big footer we got last year. I don't say those fancy words because I can't say right those two guys kind of were the odd man out and that rotation last year. They want I think he really want, and I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I think that Tommy wanted deeply to have Henry play and get some experience. Henry wasn't ready. No, I think he's going to be fantastic, he just wasn't

ready. And what I noticed too, is he's playing alongside Baller as opposed to last year. He would come out when he would go in when Ballo came out, kind of that back up five and obviously ended up being two bellas back up Ballow or going back and forth. But if he and I noticed, he's put on weight. He doesn't look like the super skinny freshman. Sure he looked like last year, and sure he's Tommy has him spreading the floor when Ballows in there, and so it'll be interesting to see at

that. Yeah, he is and hopefully. His jump shot came a long way from last year. Not to say it was poor by any means, sure, just that confidence in being able to shoot it. Uh. But it'll be interesting to see who the backup five will be to bollow. If it is it is Vassar or his name's Crevos. I think he's gonna be the guy. Yeah, he's gonna be the guy. I think he has a lot of upside like Henry, but I don't know how many, how many rotations will he be able to go to? Right? How deep is

he gonna be? I think he's gonna be. He have a lot of good depth. H It's just you know they'll try to use it and then they don't right down as you get closer to the tournament, they start to whittle their their little line up here. But if he goes deep, he Crevous, I think it's gonna be the guy. I think Crevous is going to be the guy as well, just because watching him play with Boswell, who will be the one or two? A lot with love in there.

He has a real high IQ similarly to Well. His soft hands, knows when to role and he he got to the free throw line a lot in the Red Blue game of grants. That doesn't mean much, but and it looks as though he can. He has good touch from the line, and

so yeah, I think he might be the guy. It's funny you say that, because I was thinking that during the game that at some point I'll ask Tommy this the press conference, is how much does this team have when it comes to i Q basketball a Q because the Euros are off the charts with it because they've been playing in all their lives and it's and it's not and it's not that the Americans don't have it either, but they're special because

they see angles, they see things that they that other people don't see. You know, when you get a feel for it. They have a feel for it. They just don't play exactly and you even look at it in the NBA like Luca coming over and even Sabonis, like the European guys grew up playing a very teams oriented game of basketball. And not to say, like you mentioned, the guys growing up here don't have a great basketball like you. I think, right, a lot of our teams are a lot

of our players do. But it's less one on one, it's less seven seconds. Get the ball, get the shot up. It's more how can we run this set to get the best look? And I think you see that, and that's why Tommy goes over there and recruits those guys because he wants guys to be able to make the right basketball play right right, Well, it's it's and his offense is the ball will find its place to the right man at the open time, right, you know, pass, pass

past past, you're open shooting. And that's why one thing I wanted to mention is that this year and teams in the past, it feels like we haven't had a guy that can create his own shot. I think Benedict Matherin was really the only guy in the last couple of years. Yes, So when you need a basket and who's your best player to go create a shot? And I think he's and I think having Caleb Love on this team is that person. Yeah, And that's a good observation because we haven't seen it,

but I guess that he would be that guy. How much he takes advantage of that in a bad way. And that's been the question, right because he had the ball in his hands a lot of North Carolina, probably to his detriment because you know, he's labeled maybe a ball hog or whatever, and maybe he isn't, but maybe that was his role when they needed him, you had the ball. And what was really cool to see is

that he in the Red Blue game. And I know we can't keep going back to it, but he was playing off the ball quite a bit. And so one of the notes that I put down is if him and kyl and can learn how to share the back sat, they're going to be very very He must like this team because I know I do, because there's a

lot of talent there. What that means nationally is another thing. Because you could be the best looking dude in the room, you're probably if you are, you're probably in the wrong room exactly because there's a lot of rooms out there. Other teams have very good teams as well. But this team's gonna be a lot of fun. They're gonna be competitive with a tough schedule.

Uh, it should be should be a lot of fun for a lot of people, and not just the two guys we haven't really talked about the The guy that impressed me the most on Friday was kJ Lewis, And I don't know if you you were in the building, i'd assume yeah. And obviously you can go with the dunk over ballow, you can go with his just likability. It seems like he's a very likable guy for the fans. He had a chase down block on Caleb Love. You don't really you don't see

very often from a from a freshman. And I think he's just going And I think he has this energy to him. Might just be he's a freshman wants to come in and create that energy. But I think he's incredibly long. Defensively, he's gonna be able to guard the opposition's best player at some points. He has a smooth jump shot from what it looked like. Yeah, And I think he's just pleasing. He has a fantastic motor, which I think this team needs. He's got a good motor. I saw the

same things. Uh. He has an air about him. He's beyond his years. Uh. I think he's gonna find some spots for him. How can you not play him? He's so he'll play a lot. I like his in everything you said it. I think it's spot on. I like it too. It's just like he's beyond being a freshman. Yeah, And

that that Chase down block was very observant because it was true. I mean, here's this guy, this kid coming from out of the blue, and and then blow without prompting, talks about how good of a defender he is. I mean he to a freshman. You don't hear that very often, No, you don't. It's gonna be interesting. You talk a lot about We've talked a lot about the depth we hopefully had, but there's only only

five players can play. We may have thought this time last year we had nine to ten guys, but Tommy ended up only really playing seven right down in crunch time. Yeah, and that's just how it is. It is. If they played ten to begin with, I would not be surprised if they played down to seven or eight by the time the nitty gritty happens. Wouldn't be surprised. And I think, go ahead, and I wouldn't be

surprised if they stick with the ten. It depends. It just depends on who's got the hot hand, right, And we didn't talk about Keyshawn Johnson at all, but I think he's gonna be He's gonna be the blue this team needs because he's been to a national championship. Yeah, and he's got that. He's got that whatever that is, he's got that. I agree. Yeah, and you need a couple of guys. I think that kJ has that. I think your guys you just mentioned Johnson is Johnson. Yeah.

And then maybe love too, Maybe you love to have what they need to mix the stew to make it taste better. For that makes no sense. Yeah, Okay, we'll take a break. We get ahold of Brian

Jay's out today by guys Sammy here and now I have Brian Peterson from Acy Desert Swarm dot com. Brian, how are you? I'm great?

Thanks for having me back. Yes, yes, hey. Busy weekend for all of us or those who go to the games. Let's start with football because it's the most recent that we went to. What what I know. You don't write columns, right, you write? You write game stories, and you probably do you do an in game column kind of thing. I mean, I'll tweet during the game from about and whatnot, but more, yeah, I'm there, more to trying to cover the actual game and leaves

that up to other people. Okay, so I'm gonna give you a chance to become a columnists. What was your biggest takeaway? I don't know if you read me, but what was your biggest takeaway? I think this was a game they weren't supposed to win and could have easily been blown out in and they just kind of fell right in the middle. They played competitively,

they made a couple of mistakes that cost them a chance to win. But the improvement is definitely there, and I think it's some people find it very difficult to see improvement even in losses, and that they assume at this point they should be five and zero and ranked in the top ten in the country, and that's the only way that you can truly see that there's improvement. But this is a game that they wouldn't have won last year and it wouldn't

have been as closed. Same with the Mississippi State game, and the Stanford game is a game they probably would have lost last year. So there's been that improvement. It's just a matter of getting over that hump is always the hardest part, and you know that may just take a little while that they're still going to lose to the teams they're supposed to lose to. Yeah,

yeah, no question. Let me ask you this because this is kind of how I wrote it, well the week prior were what were your impressions after Stanford? That they managed to win a game that they tried so hard to lose and being able to do that is pretty significant because usually there's always that safe statement about before you can win, you can, you have to find a way not to lose, and they found a way not to lose that game, and that probably showed some of the best improvement that I've seen this

season. So there were any concerns, you know how people this they're kind of like the Sunday morning quarterback and they said, God, this team hasn't done anything. You know they have, and then a week later this team says, well, they played this team fairly. Well, So my point was you can't go from one extreme to the other or the other way. Row you can't, but people will. And that's just that's a level of

fandom. Everything is recency bias. That if a quarterback throws an interception, he always makes bad plays, but you forget the touchdowns that he had previous. A defense gives up a big run, you forget about the fact that they had held opponents to sixteen points a game entering this last game. It's just there's so much of that recency bias, and I think people aren't able to kind of look at it from a grand scheme and that that just kind

of comes with fandom. Yeah, no question. And your website is all about that, right, Yeah. I mean we're we're a fan site, but we try to cover it from a legitimate, just down the middle perspective. And sometimes people have trouble with that. They assume that we should be raw rawing when things are good, and when they're bad, we should be calling for the heads of people, And I mean, I just don't really see it that yeah, no, and it shouldn't be that way anyway.

Well, what did you make of a fafida I thought he was solid and he was not spectacular. He was not bad. He was just kind of right in the middle. I think game manager is kind of a good way to look at it. He didn't do anything other than that kind of Jade Delora esque shovel pass where he got them in trouble. But he also really didn't do too much where it was like spectacular and and above board they're being able to elude some of the sacks and staying alive and being smart. He

just he didn't make any major mistakes in that. And I think that that's probably the biggest difference between the two quarterbacks is that I think do Laura gives you the best chance to win games and be explosive in games, but also increases the greatest likelihood of having a blowout and having a huge bob of a game, whereas I think Fafita, the floor is going to be higher,

but the ceiling is also lower. Yeah, so on Saturday, if the Laura is fully healthy, you expect Fish to go to go with the Laura. Yes, yes, he has said as much today, And really I don't see him being the kind of guy that would cause somebody to lose their job because of injury unless the person who came in just made it impossible for him to go back to the original starter, and that wasn't the case. Noah Fafita had a fine game, but he did not have a Khalil Tate

FBS rushing record kind of game. He didn't have a Nick Foles stepping in for Matt Scott and leading to a huge victory and just making it impossible to take him out of the game. Now, if and when Delora comes back, when he's healthy, if he struggles well, now, the leash is shorter, and I think the possibility of seeing both quarterbacks in a game increases. And I don't think that Do Laura has as much of the leeway where

he can do no wrong anymore. So, Sammy, you made this observation before Brian came on that the offense I thought was maybe or you thought was simplified right for him. He didn't do anything that maybe that Do Laura would have done or whatever. They just kind of made it simple for him and

he executed it. Did you Did you see that too? Brand It was a little bit of that, but it was also more a matter of Safita is I think much more willing to if that those first reads aren't there, to check down and to play it safe, whereas do Laura a lot of times. And we saw that, especially against Stanford, where he seemed to

really want to make that big play and it's just not always there. Fafita was over five on passes of twenty ft yards or deeper down the field, and Fish today kind of used the excuse of the not having the experience with the first team receivers and not knowing how they're going to run the routes and

the timing and all those kind of stuff. I could see that a little bit, but I also think that they weren't trying to take the deep shots because while those can bring up big points, they also are harder to hit, and they didn't want to give the ball back to Washington super quickly. After those first three and out in the four and out in the first quarter, they pretty much were sustained drives the rest of the way, which was

the game plan. So I think it was a mix of bolts. Yeah, and on Saturday, is there a number in coach Fish's mind where if the lore is said percent, he will play or is it a hundred or busting things? Well, I guess that depends on what your definition of one hundred is. I think it's just going to be a matter of if he if he's able to be the kind of quarterback he is has in terms of his mobility and being able to drop back, and that there's no limitations,

then he'll play. If there is limitations, then I think that it would go to fafita to give him extra time. It's there's there's this kind of window here where you've got the back to back road games against USC and Washington State and then you have a buy So if he looks nowhere near close to one hundred percent midway through this week, I wouldn't be surprised if they just pull the plug and say, no, you're not playing this week, and

then you know, we'll see see about the Washington State game. But knowing that there's an extra week off after that before you come into really the the really more of the potentially winnable games down the stretch with back to back at home and just more opportunities than these next two. So but I doubt he'd give any sort of percentage. Yeah, no, I agree with you, especially with Washington State coming up after the fact, right and going back home

or back where he was before coming here. But let me let me say I was thinking about this, and I'm running out of time this last question about football. So they go to USC. What was the prediction for you in wins before the season started. I had them going six and six? Okay, has that changed? Now? They've won every game that I thought and lost every game that I thought. I in fact, I have them

losing the next two. I had them to USC and to Washington State, so being three and four and needing to be able to win three of those last five to get in and getting to six with ASU. The wins haven't been, I guess, as impressive as I thought they could be. But the losses also haven't been. They haven't been blown out. I mean, they went to overtime and they had an on site kick with the opportunity to

try to tie it in this next game if they had recovered. So a pair of one score losses, one on the road in overtime in SEC territory, and won against the top ten teams. So I can't really think you'd be too upset with that Stanford game. Maybe should have been a better over all performance, but the fact that they played poorly in a lot of areas and still one is promising. Yeah, okay, the reason they asked that. Okay, so how's this gauntlet? USC on the road? Washington State

on the road back to back weekends. You talked about the little gap there. They have a week off, then they go to Oregon or they play Oregon State here, a better team than mostly well but a very good team UCLA, which may be a winnable game here at home, and then at another they're at Colorado, who who knows what's going to happen there, and then Utah which is obviously very good, but they play them here. So this is a heck of a heck of a next road next The next few

weeks are going to be tough. Oh yeah, I mean last year they played at one point five consecutive ranked teams and going into conference play seventh straight were ranked after the first game and some of them fallen out since then.

But yeah, I mean, there's there's three top ten teams in this conference and they're going to be playing two of them in uh, they're gonna Yeah, you played two of them in back to back weeks, and then an undefeated team after that if Washington States beats UCLA on Saturday, I think this is going to be the first time Arizona is gonna be playing like three consecutive

unbeaten pack twelve teams in gosh, probably at least fifteen years. So yeah, I mean, but you have to play the hand you're doubt you know that, Steve Yes, And sometimes you've got to throw it away to throw it away. Okay, let's move to basketball real quick. Got a couple

of two three minutes. What were your impressions from Friday night? If you can get anything from that, I mean, it was you can't get too much from it other than the fact that it just seems like there's a lot of guys and maybe there isn't like a superstar or like u Ben math Ain a n Azulist to Bellas where you can say he's clearly going to be the main guy on this team, But then how are we going to make sure

that we have other stuff if that one or two guys struggles. I think that there's so much more potential for this to just be a very well balanced and deep team where you goes eight, nine or nine ten deep in games on a regular basis and are getting meaningful contributions, not just three to four

minutes from that eighth person. What remains to be seen if that stays that way, But it sounds like Tommy Lloyd wants to be more deeper this year because he saw how much it got in the way at the end last year. Yeah, I think in Tommy's early stint here he hasn't really gone to that depth, especially as the season progressed. What guys do you think or who will those eight nine guys be that you think he might be able to

rely on. Well, I mean, he's brought in three transfers who are all starters at major programs, and you figure if at least two of them will probably start, Plus you have Pella Larson and Are and Kylin Boswell coming back, So right there that six it's really going to come down. And then I think kJ lewis, while being a freshman, he just seems like a guy who's going to find a way to be a regular mix in there.

But then after that it's just going it's going to come down to the other freshman of the international players, and the returning sophomore is Philly or Vichenen and NRB Sarnil Anderson to prove that they deserve to be on there on a regular basis. I think most of us Krebs is the best likelihood to be involved in there. I don't know if it would be as a starter or not. And then Maruscus potentially as well, if they can find what works

best for them. But the also weird thing is this is such a challenging non conference schedule that I don't know. I mean, are you willing to sacrifice, like losing some games just to make sure you're getting these guys the experience or is it that they're only going to have those four or five quote unquote buy games at home that you really can test that out. We will soon see. That's why he gets paid the big books. I think you'll probably give a lot of the guys a chance and see I really think the

undergo underdog guy is going to be Philippe. He has a shot and we saw that Friday, and I think that he is understated. Last year didn't really play a lot, but we might find something out of him. Yeah yeah, I mean this team is definitely going to be much more guard oriented than it's been the previous two years. But that also means with so many more guards, if someone struggles, they're going to get pulled. You didn't

see that last year. I mean Kerr has a bad game. He's staying in there because they really just don't have that beyond the three main guys. If they have four or five guards now, then someone struggles and they go to the next guy. Yeah, we'll see what happens a busy weekend. It's going to be that way the rest of the year. Pretty much love it. Yeah, thanks, Brian, appreciate you all right, Brian Peterson from Azy Desert Swarm dot com, go to read the stuff, good stuff.

Got a guy Sammy here working the board. You guys want to call please do We're ready for you five two o four one six seventy four forty tell me we're ready for them.

Oh, we're very ready. Okay, So you found some cool music? Yeah, good ones. Well, I need to tell Jay about all this stuff. Yeah, I know we got the same couple of songs normally, but yeah, no diversity. Baby, Hey, that's where we're trying trying to get some new songs. I like it. I like it. Okay, anybody want to call Let us know what you thought about the Red Blue game, the football game. What do you like the chances this weekend about going to LA and facing USC. There are twenty two point dogs.

There were twenty point dogs here, like you are pretty good against the spread. Let me say this, Uh so they covered the spread. Oh, as we were talking before the actual show started, Sammy and I they were they played close, right. I think people in Washington read it, wrote it. They were never in it. I mean they were never in jeopardy of losing it, give or take for that little the on site kick at the end. Okay, granted, but they were also a touchdown away from

getting brown out. It would have been twenty one points had they not fun with the ball on the five U A today and also on Saturday, talked a lot about them will recovery that thing, we're not granted. Yeah, when Stuke's got on the ball seemingly near the near the ends the end line, you know, out of bounce line, Whether you got it or I don't know, but it was tough to overturn. Yeah. I think the big thing with this Washington you have a game is is we talked about it

before. If you're gonna be excited about this, then you have to ridicule the Stanford performance. Yeah yeah, really really, or question or or critique it exactly. There's or you just have to stay right in the middle and be like, we beat a Stanford team that historically is a great program, and then obviously having a down year, you're supposed to win that game. You win the game. It was ugly, it was gross, whatever you

thought of it. You win the game. You take the win. But and now that if you if you take the win and look at it like, Okay, you win, then you can be you can say, oh, we only lost by a touchdown to Washington. Sure, sure, No, you have the same pair of rise right for that game. You have

the same pair of bise. You may not have the same bias. I know that Jay would think of it as Okay, we won the game, and hey, I'm really promised, I'm really happy how they survived on And we'll talk about this tomorrow when he arrives, because that's what we do. But he'll say Oh no, I liked how they play. They played close, and I won't disagree with any of it, but but they were still

that close from being blown out earlier. It's not to say they would have, but yeah, And I think if you swap performances, if you if the way we played this Saturday against Washington, we played against Stanford, we win that game by double digits. Sure, play the way we played against Stanford on Saturday, we lose by thirty points. Sure, sure, Sure.

But the thing about it, and you're a former athlete, right every day to me, and I've written this one thousand times and I believe this more more and more as I write stories for the last fifty years, forty years, every game is a season, Every game is a season. And you're a golfer. What other sport do you do that You may be the greatest golfer, goodood or whatever. He has bad days, he has bad weeks where the best players or did he show up? He's not even making

the cut. You see all the time, and it happens. It happens, whether it's smatch ups, you just get up bad that day. Whatever, right you see it, you see it with I mean, we talk a lot about Colorado, but you see it, especially the last two weeks with them, they got they got boat raced by Sure and Sure that's a tribute to Oregon. Their defense is great, and there was a lot of incentive there was, and then this past weekend it looked like things were going

to get out of hand against US. Late in that fourth quarter, Colorado had a chance to similar to Arizona. In fact, the show before ours, we're talking about how they never had a chance and they probably didn't have a chance. I think USC and everyone talks about Washington Oregon, but I still think USC is probably the better team. Go ahead. We got a call. Hello, you're high on the bet the ball. You're on the air, Gus Gabriel. Gabriel. Fine, let me let me give you

a little bittee Gabriel. So I'm listening. I'm going home after the game on Saturday night, and lo and behold do I hear Gabriel on the postgame radio show And I'm thinking Gabriel's cheating on me. Oh yeah, sorry, go ahead games that I just I support the media, whether it be you guys, bearing all these show. What Jason Sheer does with his what's his podcast, So I support every single media that covers that covers you know,

every Arizona you guys have. You guys have better media than Fresno. To be honest with you, Thanks, What do you got on your moe? What's on your mind? So I just want to give you my uh my thoughts about the game on Saturday. So obviously the offense. Obviously the offense struggle with scoring the first points in the first half, and the defense tried tried their best to stop Michael Pennix. But I mean, I was hoping for an Arizona upset, but I guess Arizona has a better chance to deal

I guess USC because USC's defense is not that very good. But I just kind of wanted to say this after we played this last year of the pack. I'm just really happy that Arizona does it. The Arizona is not going to play against Oregon, UFC or even Washington because sometimes Arizona really sometimes Arizona upsets those those three teams, but most of the times is the ZAC opposes.

So that's my thoughts. Yeah, no, I heard you say that dealer night, So the guys didn't really want to believe what you said. I hear you though, we're gonna go into a different conference, and you might be a little pleased. Maybe you won't be we'll see what happens. I think it's easier for Arizon to win more games in the Big compared to the because comparison to the pastrol because Arizona is not playing a guest Oregon, Arizona is not playing against USC Washington, Alkohol, Marks Texas. The Big

twelve is just wide up. And so so okay, no, I agree with you. Thank you, Thank you, Gabe. We'll talk about that once we get off the phone. Thank you much for calling and listening to us. I don't mind you. I don't mind you cheating on me there, Gabe. Thank you. So no, he's right, and we talked

about this at number of times. You're gonna go into a great basketball conference, right and the basketball program is gonna have its handsful, which is fine because you'll get tested every weekend, and every weekend will be fun for the fans, and then when you get to the tournament, you'll be ready. And if you're not ready, that's on you, exactly. I think it's we got another car. But okay, okay, go ahead. I think we'll take the car and then we'll go ahead and good and we'll talk.

Hello, you're on the air. Hello, this is Brett. I wanted to, you know, inquire here about Arizona football, so I stopped projection today. It had in the Guaranteed rain Bowl against Kansas. Sounds like a great dame. It's just becoming a great out of a schedule. I just don't see three wins in the near future. Can you hate that picture? How can we find those three wins? No? No, I hate I'm with you. It was this again, Brett. Okay, Brett, I'm

with you, man. It's gonna be very difficult. And I went to the schedule. How many wins did you have to begin the year? Who there, Brett? How many wins do you think Arizona was gonna work for the year? Yeah, yeah, we can hear you. Hold on, how many wins did you think they were gonna have before the year started? Before the year three or four? And that's where I'm still at. I think is game schedule huh yeah? S either I started with five. I

started with five. I don't disagree with you, because it's gonna be difficult to find three wins here. I think the winnable games are UCLA, and I'm not saying they're gonna do that. Ucla, maybe Colorado and and and likely Arizona State. But but those other two are gonna be very difficult. I hear what you're saying, and I don't I don't disagree with you. It's gonna be very difficult. Alright, alright, thank you for the game. And uh and in US next weekend or is it gonna be cool?

No, I don't think. I don't think so. But they, like you said, like you said, the heavy, they've covered every game and they played for some reason. They play you see, very good or very well. So we'll see, we'll see, all right, Thanks Pratt,

Thank you man, Thanks you listening. Thanks going. I don't know what game he talked him playing again about Kansas, but oh, there was a I think in the most recent bowl predictions they have us if we win six games, go into some bowl against Kansas, and that'd be that's just ironic because we're gonna play them a bunch and the next football Okay, so you were talking about something, we were talking what were we talking about that we were interrupted by the call. We're talking about golf. No, no,

okay, well a question just before we go it's a break. So the War's injuries really interesting. We were hearing that if he's not healthy this week, you won't play, but then they might give him that next week off get to the bye. If thea FETA plays well in these next two games, it doesn't mean we have to win the game. But if he shows progression and shows signs that he's becoming more confident, is there a question come after the bye? If sure we roll with that guy? Sure the question

will come from the media. Of course I will, because that's what we do. I will, will will. Will you lose the starting position from the injury? You have ever heard the Wally Pip story? You know you don't have to google that because Wally pipped. God, I don't know why I'm saying this, because it just drew a blank. But Wally pipps the starting whatever position in baseball. He got hurt and oh it was the Luke

Garrick. I think it was Luke greg who who who replaced him? And lou Garrick never left the game again, even never, he never Wally Pip never played again? Oh wow? Oh yeah, I mean Okay, it makes sense because you see that a lot. The next guy comes in, it comes in. It was yeah, yeah, he's just better and he plays out of his mind and the other guy's lost. I don't know,

I don't know. Fafita is more of a stable quarterback, if that makes any sense, because he's kind of like, just gets the job done and De Laura is kind of a reckless dude, and you get what you get either, big plays. We're kind of crazy plays. That's Taylor Swift for us. Oh no, oh no, let's go. Let's go and come back to that talk. But some breaking news, right, yeah, breaking news midnight night. Come and pick me up, no headlights, come Joy
