Streamy Live. I mean I heard radio WAP. This is I on the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzalez on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. Hey, welcome back to I'm the Ball Hero Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve, He's Jay. Now we have Sammy with breaking news. I on the Ball, Breaking news. All right, So, obviously Arizona's win could can't go untalked about as much as we talked about it. I think you mentioned us

beating Oregon that's in the summoning era. But this felt, at least in my time as an Arizona sports fan, like the biggest football win that this program has had in a long time. And I don't want to say program altering, but it kind of felt program altering to go to a top twenty team and crush them. I to me, it's just kind of like the first the start of something good. Right. Well, that that that's what

you know. Did you read Anthony's Anthony Jimino's you kind of talking? He said sort of that and sort of what you're saying, Sammy is that this this seems to be of a win of more to come, as opposed to a one off that they just went out played one great game, and next week they're gonna fall flat against Oregon State. That this is more of a sign of this is what the program has become, Not that they're going to go out and beat everybody for six, but that they've got a really good

offense. Now up here is that they have a really good defense they put they're putting a lot of pieces together, and this is sort of a this is a direction for the program, as opposed to they went out and played one great game. So he talks today, I don't have any questions for him, obviously, but I was gonna ask, so the coaches come here to build a culture, right, so you can kind of send that that's happening right if it already hasn't happened. And then he talked Saturday night a

lot about the confidence. So you build the culture and then you get the confidence. These kids know that they can play with Washington USC, beat the crap out of Washington State, and then you're rest of the schedule, right Oregon State is coming in and I think Oregon State has its hand handsful, you know, very and a point that I wanted to make, you know, we had Greg Woods the Spokane beat writer. You know, he and we said that after we talked to him, he completely pooh pooed Arizona's defense.

You know, he went he he he talked about Arizona's defense as based on the reputation that they've been a terrible defense up until this year. It was like, we think, you know, I think Washington State will be

able to handle their defense. Move the ball. He had no idea, you know what what they were up again Twitter after the game he said, get him back on the phone and tell him he was old or because but you know, but but again, you know, you know to your point that that you know, this is, this is who they're becoming and they're

not even they're not even there yet. Well, you have a lot of stuff we can we can go. So so the biggest college football story up until a couple of weeks ago was called aroadal Right, they were enough nowhere, they had glory, blah blah blah. You know what, if anybody paid attention to this program, this would be a pretty close second. Because he he was he was Colorado two years ago and they won five and now who knows, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna go. They're gonna win a

lot of games. But this team has come away a long way. If you if you if you read, you know, national media, you listen to podcasts and stuff. Arizona is just starting to get noticed because there's a lot of conversation. Uh you know the podcast I listened to with Dan wets On. Those guys they were talking about the USC Notre Dame game and they said, wait a minute, you should have known that when Arizona did what they did to USC last week that this could happen. And by the way,

did you see what Arizona did to Washington State? Somebody you need to pay start paying attention to what's going on there. And that's what you're hearing. What they can't do is go back. Well, they can't go back, right they Yeah, they can't let Oregon State come in here and be in a forty eight to fourteen. That's why, that's why I'm scared of the buye. That's just that's why you got a good thing going, like,

yeah, to keep that rolling. So I hear you, but so other pack Toweld News, Washington organ I don't know if you guys got a chance to watch the great game I watched every minute of it. Probably the college game of the year so far. I would say, so, Jay, I was gonna make you bet here you have you still like Washington to win it all. Yeah, so I'm probably gonna lose you a see, but I don't know yet. I'm still gonna hang on my If Oregon's back

in the championship game against Washington, I'm taking Oregon. That's a hard game. It's when you're two teams are that good, it's hard to beat. And they played them. They played them at Washington, took them to the brink at their place. Oregon was pretty He took some chances that you don't see that well. There's a lot of discussion of that today, you know, going going for going for on fourth down, all those times, you know, especially the one, the one that's glaring is the one that at

the end of the first half. Yeah, because they they could have kicked a field goal and gotten the ball back and if you go down and score again, you've had a ten point swing. Instead, you know, they stuffed him, look lost the momnum and then you know they ended up losing the game. Now I'm not saying that, you know, you don't automatically say well, they would have gone three points, but it would have changed it. It would have changed sort of the landscape of the game coming into

the second half. Yeah, Landing took full responsibility to today in his press conference, he goes, it's one hundred percent. My fault, of course was percent. That's what the coach is gonna do, right, But if the fourth quarter was phenomenal in and of itself, but Orgon could have won the game. They mist they barely missed. Then they missed the field at the end. But Washington, I don't know. There there's a whole thing

with Pennix, Michael and bone Nicks. Really he really Owe Nicks was He impressed me because I've seen Penix do what he does and I've known how great he is. Bone Nicks has always been the guy that kind of has gotten overlooked in these quarterbacks with Caleb and Pennix. But he, to Steve's point, impressed Meads, not maybe more than Pennix, but just as much. Man, he didn't win the game. It's no exactly, and he could have to give me if that game gets into overtime or as you said,

take if they take the points. Those two times they went on fourth down, if they kicked the ball away at the end of the game and put put them down at the ten yard line instead of giving it to him at mid two, dude, they were they were inches away from winning the game despite the coach. Yeah, yeah, right, if Oregon wins that game, bo Nix is probably the highest favorite. Sure not Panics. Well here's

what I what I like. And again the conversation conversations you hear is that if these two teams, you know, went out play each other in the in the pack Croff Championship, let's say Oregon beats Washington, everybodys saying they should get in the playoffs, right, Yeah, and they're both worthy, you know, they're really good. So did you have Stamford in there in the in the in the Stanford and the Colorado game, because we haven't, Yeah we can. I had it on here, we can. We might

not hear from Colorado. Get well, we were sitting at that high you know, went to the football game, right the CDO Mike, which instantly was a great football game. Yeah, you know, we both left, right and then bad fans right, So then they go down the score and had a chance to tie the game. But you know, we we saw the score. We saw the Stanford score, you know, on our phones

at twenty nine to nothing. And even when I was going home and I was just listening to music on the way home, and they thought that, wait a minute, the Colorado Stanford's game. I might as well put it on. Yeah, I'd rather listen to a football game in the card of the day. And I put it on. All of a sudden, here comes, here comes Stanford. I had Colorado this point and the points, so I was I saw it twenty nine zero. I put my phone away. I killed the rest of the night. I was like, oh,

no worries. Wake up the next morning completely seeing some hope, hopefully seeing some money in the account. It was not there. So I was like, oh man, but I thinks again exactly. I think if if you know, if you know college football and you know the landscape of it, you could kind of see, maybe not the Stanford lost coming with Colorado, but kind of like this there's leveling out. Yeah. Sure, And that's

to say they're not going to be a good program moving forward. I think they will be, but this year it needed to come to stop eventually, and I think that was the whole thing. Well, and let's again, and let's see, let's talk about how that validates what happened with Arizona. Up there, Stanford is gaining ground. They're not a horrible team anymore. Troy Taylor is a really damn good teach. They're gonna be good. They're gonna be good again. Places to go where there in the a CC Is

that for sure? Stanford and Stafford cal Yeah, I'm thinking, I'm thinking watching this. Yeah, they're both in the a CC, so you know they're you know, they're they're gonna get good again. And the a c C is a conference that could get to playoff teams. Carolina is undefeated for a state, it is And this is this is why it's sad that this isn't the year that the college football playoff expand next year because there are a

lot of good teams. There are like Air Forces undefeated. I don't know if you guys have to watch Air five watch Not to say they're a college football playoff team, but they're they're day, they're really really good. But let's switch gears to college basketball. The first preseason ap pole came out. Yeah, Arizona's number twelve in it. And what I found really really interesting in this is that so Kansas is one, and then you have Duke to

Purdue three, Michigan State for an FAU ten. So Arizona plays Duke, Purdue, Michigan State, and FAU all before conference plays. So three or four top ten teams. Yeah, scolda be fantastic. Well, you know, my first thought was twelve was too low, right, I like it, But then I thought about, okay, fine, start at twelve, go beat all those teams and guess where you'll be? Yeah one, Yeah, to temper your enthusiasm. So yeah, in Loot's time, guess what

they would have done that. Yeah, they would have steamrolled in November, been number one or number two. And then you then what you do you have to say at that level all the time. No, they're gonna it's perfect and kind of no one's paying attention to us. There, one's overlooking.

They're probably going to be underdogs and all those games. But so except probably a favorite, except and those guys are good, good, And we still have Wisconsin and Bama, who are both Bama is the top twenty five team, Wisconsin probably right on right, the team that The people that that benefit the most are the fans test those that's gonna be a bunch of fun games, and you know every one of them is going to be a nationally uh. It's a game that's gonna get get on a lot of national attention.

And I think I think Tommy will kind of take the persona that Coach Cal has in the last couple of years of this is a brand new squad. I mean you have Ballo, and you have Pele, and you have Boswell, but everyone else is pretty much brand new. And Coach Cal used to always say, they don't judge me in November and December, right, talk to me when March happens. Right, They talked to him and they say it's a quick color. Lately, lately lately it hasn't. But down,

don't, coach, I'm walking off. No more games. But I don't want to talk to you anymore. But no, I think I think twelve is are serviceable for them. I don't know it's a decent number, it is it is. So let's talk to the NFL. There are let's see five five and one teams left, the Lions, Chiefs, Eagles, Niners, and Dolphins. The Eagles and Niners. Like you mentioned, you killed this week. I did, Jay. They're getting their first loss of

the year. But I don't really know out of those. Out of those teams, again, the Bills have lost two games as Super Bowl favorites, go, Does it still reign in Kansas City? Do you think? Or don't say it almost until you knock them off? Right? I think? So there's two Ken City. They certainly haven't looked They certainly haven't looked like a shoe win or you know, a dominating team outside. I mean, they beat the Broncos by eleven. Yeah, the Chiefs and Miami beat them

by seventy or whatever. We exactly No, Miami, outside of those Buffalo game is pretty good. You know, they felt behind fourteen to seven on Sunday. You're thinking you killed them too. I thought I had killed them too, and then they had them too. I had ca't. That's the only game I got, right, fair enough, we get. But so we'll see that there's a lot of good football teams in the NFL, just like there are in college. And but the last couple of things, we'll

mention the Diamondbacks real quick. They open it up in Philly at Citizens Bank Park, we're talking on the break. One of the best atmospheres in sports. I would say, as of late, both Zach's Zach Wheelers at Gallon on the Mounds for the Diamondbacks and the Phillies. And if you haven't watched a lot of baseball, the Diamondback players may come off as maybe not household names. I think the Phillies have a lot more household names than Bryce,

Harper, Schwarber, Rio Milto Castillanos. And when you go to the Diamondbacks, I know we talked with Jack about it, but not a lot of guys maybe outside of Corman Carroll, will you go? I know that guy. He comes out to me, so again, could be could be a route. The Diamondbacks haven't been here since seven. But nonetheless, if you're an Arizona sports fan, it's great. The last couple of things, I don't know if you guys got the change before you go. Jordan Alvarez just

hit a laser for a home run. It's five four, Top eight, top top eight, who bottom? So the Battle of Texas. The Rangers took game one, and the Astros back against the wall. See if they can win the last game. Last thing, before we go to break, I guess is did you guys get a chance to watch Victor Webbin Yama play this weekend? No? He was pretty good. Yeah, he had like a few twenty twenty three points, four rebounds, forces, three blocks in

like twenty three minutes. Twenty three minutes. He if you don't watch the NBA, if you don't really like basketball, like, he's gonna make you turn on your TV and watch him because I think he's You watch him and he's just this giant like yann and this has always been a big dude, but he's just it's something else. So he had a great weekend and the hardened debacle continues. And the last thing we mentioned is Fafita did win Freshman of the Week again, and Uh, a lot of conversation going into the

byway. Interesting, you're going to talk about it for two weeks. Yeah, we'll see what happened. Wait, but right, I like you. I like your idea. Though. If he can go into Jed's office and say, you know what, go with him until you can't, I'm here for you. Yeah, that would be it sounds like a good story. Did you do that? Uh? A fifty nine year old dude said, but you know what, I don't know. I think I would. I

don't know, honestly. I mean again, if you're if you're, if you're in it for the team, you know that's you're supposed to want to win. You know when you saw the reaction at the end of the game, you know when sure sure jayde and De Lord took the knee if Afida was out on the field, they gave him. Can you talk about talked about all that? You know, Hey, if that's real, then it's real. And and you'd like to see Jayden do something, do something like

he'd get a lot of respect for that. All right, take a break, we're gonna come back. We've got Todd Holdthouse who talk to PEMA Women's

Basketball and PEMA County Sports Hall of Fame. We'll gr right back. Breaking down all the exes at OHS, It's Steve Rivera and Jagen Salvias. This is I on the Park on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Hey, welcome back to I in the ball Hero, Fox Sports

fourteen fifty on Steve, He's Jay, come back. Send me with a Now we have coach hotels from Pema College now the new induct into the pem of College Pema County Hall of Fame Sports. How are you, coach? I'm good. How are you guys doing today? Fine? Thank you? When you heard about that award or that honor, what'd you think? Uh? To be honest, it's kind of surreal, to be honest, because

I don't think I ever got into coaching to make Hall of Fames. I just think I got into it because I loved coaching and loved being around young people. And it's pretty humbling considering Tucson has kind of been my adopt at home since I've moved down here in ninety seven. So I'm I'm I'm flattered, to be honest. Do you do you? I mean, do you think about it much? Or I mean you know those things are hard to come by, right, So I mean, you know, how do you

take that? Yeah, that's a good question. I think I'm still taking and it probably won't hit me till you know, the award ceremony and the bank with that day. But like I said, it's just humble and I'm grateful. I love Tucson. I love the fact that I've got to coach at Flowing Well, the U of A and PEMA. I've you know, I've just I've been blessed that way. So I don't take it for granted, that's for sure. I just probably more grateful than anything. Now there's

two Hall of Famers on that coaching staff. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Yeah, holy guys, you that means if we lose, we get blamed. So you don't already you mean, what do you mean I would get? I would just get a nice long red carpet and kind of put it down your mention. Trumpet's playing. Trumpets play that introduce me, you know, like a that's about it, like a robe and all that. He's a big man. So let's talk about the congrats again. Let's talk about

tonight's game. How unusual is this for you? It's it's pretty awesome. I mean I try to stay in coach mode as much as possible, But then this morning I start off with a text for my oldest daughter, and she's nervous about playing her younger sister tonight. So then the dad asked, that kind of kicked in, and I said, just enjoy it, compete hard against each other and afterwards give each other a hug. So I try to keep a low profile so nobody gets too stressed out. Explain what's going

on for the for the listeners, gotcha. My oldest daughter, Mikayla, is a senior at Ottawa University and my younger daughter is a freshman for us here at Pima, and tonight we're scrimmaging Ottawa at EMA at six o'clock. So the sisters and dad get to go head to head and mom gets to sit in the stand and cheer for both. And I don't know what the brothers think, but they're just they're long for the ride. I guess brothers, they're just they're going to make fun of both of them, is what

they'll do, right exactly. And you have two former players coming back to don't Angel Adalman, who was a huge part of our success the last three years. She's back as well as Melissa Simmons, who was also on a couple of teams that went to the Nationals, and so you know, they enjoy their time at TEMA. So I'm excited because they love Tima so much, so they're excited to come back and play on their court, and you

know, it's kind of a homecoming in a sense. Yeah, So besides the homecoming, what are you hoping to find out as you're getting ready to get your season started? You know, what does a game like this do

for you? Well, this is a year where I have twelve freshmen, So I don't think I've had twelve freshmen since maybe my first year at TIMA, and so we're really young, and they have a number of juniors and seniors, so they're really old in basketball terms, and so I have a feeling that our young puppies will probably learn a few hard lessons just in terms

of you know, experience and how much that helps over the years. And so I'm just hoping that we come out and attack like we always do and always have in the past, and try to get a little bit better as we get ready for the season to open in November. So how did that happen to get so many so many freshmen on the roster? We COVID kind of threw our recruiting classes off balance a little bit because we we had kids that could stay for three years. So generally speaking, we're either seven or

eight freshmen and sophomores that add up to fifteen. Well, I had three or three kids stay for three years, so kind of a lop side of things. And then we had an injury last year, so we have one of our freshmen from last year is actually a red shirt freshman this year. So just kind of threw things off balance, but not a big deal. So so coach, I look at Jay. He's got a lot of white hairs on his head. I have a few on my chin and my head.

I can't remember if you have them on yours. But guess what twelve freshman might make you have a lot of hoit by the end of the year. I've said that a number of times. My goatee is going to be really gray and I'm probably going to get a little balder and a little grayer throughout the year. But you know what, if we went a bunch of games, it'll be all worth it. So how do you knowing that you're

that young? You know, how was the approach different from say another year, when you know you do have you know half you know, second year or third year players. I mean, is the starting point, you know, kind of move back a little bit. I mean, where where do you how do you go through that? Well, it's exactly what you're saying. You have to kind of step back and you have to teach a little

bit more. But I've always kind of enjoyed the teaching aspect of it, So it's been kind of fun to kind of go back to some of the basics and remember, you know, the little things that make you good, and just teaching those to the to the freshmen. And it's a good refresher course for our sophomores as well too, because they didn't the group of sophomores we have, I don't have a lot of experience because we were so sophomore

heavy last year. So even our sophomores this year benefit from breaking it down a little bit more. But I actually enjoy it, and I think it's good for all of us. I think it's good for the coaches as well as the players to kind of get to the basics. Well, how I was gonna say, how basic does it have to get? You know, and I'm talking about things from you know, this is how you wear your uniform, and this is where your locker is, and this is what i'm

you have to be here, all those kinds of things. Do you understand it perfectly? Because you have to teach them how to do pregame. You have to teach him what's allowed and what's not allowed, pregame, how we do things as a team, what you can wear, what we don't allow, and just that whole aspect, and then just kind of developing the routine and making sure that they understand the importance of, you know, every opportunity and keeping things simple. But this is how we do things and that's what's

been successful over the years. So you talk about Analyst and Mikayla, So which one's the youngest? Ant least? An at least is the youngest. So I'm assuming that Mikayla had a lot to do with at Least's development and becoming the player that she is, because you know, older, older kids usually do that for the younger kids. Who's gonna be like, is she kind of at least the pain? Is she the is she the youngest daughter who's kind of like the pain and the pub maybe the better player? I

know too much for you. But yeah, they they got to play together one year at Ironwood Bridge when Mac was a senior, Analysee was a freshman, so they got to do the sister thing there. And I think, you know, we all have birth order, and we all have different siblings and how they rate in the in the order, Michaela is kind of the old one that kind of takes care of everybody, and Analyst has always been what we like to call our spicy Italian, so she's got a little more

fire to her. And uh, that's kind of what makes them different and what kind of makes them enjoyable. So tonight, I guess we'll find out, uh if the wise one prevails or if the young spicy want to I like that young and spicy. That's a that's a good one. I've have to use that at some point. So, you know, another year for you. You've been around a long time, have you Have you been in a situation like this, Uh, you know, at the start of a

year where you kind of really don't know a lot about your team. Yeah, like I said, just the just the first year here, because we we got we were good and our second year and so we've enjoyed a lot of success from that second year on. So this year, you know, you're going back to twelve freshmen, and our expectations are high because with all the success, we're able to recruit good kids. So we have talented freshmen that we I mean, we don't just have freshmen. We have talented freshmen.

So they just have to learn a little faster. And I had to make the schedule as hard as possible, so they'll get baptized by fire real quick with our schedule. But I think that they're tough enough to understand and take it. I was going to say, I know, you don't have to divulge anything. Do you know who you have? Top five, top seven? Yeah? I do. I mean, this group's pretty talented. I was telling the coaches the other day, I said, from one to

fifteen, it's probably the smallest degree of stepiork separation we've ever had. And so from one to ten, I feel like, you know, we're pretty interchangeable. I think we've got two or three that really stand out, and then you know, from four to ten we can mix and match kind of and do different things, which is kind of fun. Is the is the I guess you recruit to a you know, certain type of player that you're

looking for and stuff like that. So, but is your the way you play gonna change much at all or you're getting everybody out of what you'd always do. Nope, We're gonna go as fast as possible and play as much man defense as we can. So those things always try to stay the same. So when we're recruiting, we try to get pieces that kind of fill those fill that that idea. Maybe one of the last questions at least for me. Uh a Todd. So we had we had Monico on before and

I asked him about this. I know what football doesn't apply to girls basketball, to women's basketball. Uh. Now the coaches are not going to JC so much. Now the transfer portal has kind of taken over here, getting players from all over the country who have experience, uh at the D one level, Right, Is it affecting the women's sports as well or no?

Yeah, I think in the higher ranks it definitely affects. You know, it affects high school seniors the most because I don't think those kids get the same looks for D one s, D two's and anais that they usually did. Because now the DS two and ANYI coaches kind of wait for the portal

and they may get a d one kid who kicks back. So I actually think that the Juco route is probably more uh more valuable now because kids who are seniors that were, you know, supposed to go maybe a little bit higher now have to go Juco because those opportunities at the four year universities aren't the same. Yeah, okay, coach, well good luck. Don't be too tough on the girls tonight. Now. I'm just going to try to

keep the peace tonight. That's all I'm trying to do. Make sure everybody's everybody's feelings stay intact and we all benefit from tonight and no civil wars must That's what dads do, man, That's what dad, we have to do. Yeah, nice, coach, appreciate you, all right, you guys, I appreciate you. Thank you, thank you. At the hold house, that's interesting, right, I mean, what do you do have them go at it? Man? Defender my brother? Okay, let's say a

fistfight breaks out. They're not Gonzalalsis. They're not. They're hold houses. They know how to control them. They do all right, Okay, they just take a break so we get more time on the other side. us got thirteen minutes. If you guys want to call, please do Uh. Brian called us. You didn't know which way to go with the game with he was pretty I'm sure he was pressed. You know, I was that. I'm Steve. I you know, I didn't know what to think. I honestly didn't. I certainly didn't think they were gonna blow him out. I thought Arizona could go, could go lose that game, just because it's a game that Arizona always loses. Its to Washington State. They come

off a nice performance, even though they didn't beat USC. They're kind of feeling good about themselves. You go over there and you get you get spanged. Yeah, and uh and then you know that first possession by Washington State. I thought I missed it. I missed that first drive. They just they just went down the field. Oh it was because I was watching the Oregon game. I was trying to I missed it too. Yeah. See I had two TVs in my Yeah, we were Yeah, we had the

end of the end of the Washington game on. But uh, you know, and then I thought you know, I just immediately got a bad feeling. Asonly winning score. Well, they're watching win for two, which you know what, why why would you take the juice off of an opening touchdown like that? Try and go for two? And because that really does help the other team. I really think the call. Right, Hi, you're on the air and eye on the ball. How's it going today? What's

up Brian C? Yeah, yeah, I heard you. So if anybody would have said we're going to win forty to six or where the HeSE score was, they're they're crazy. No nobody thought that, but yeah, are you? I mean what we had on Friday, you you didn't know what to think? Right? No, I don't think anybody you know. I mean, now we have a we have a much better picture of this team

now. I really believe the off week will help them. I think just just to get away from it for a while and and give give them because member orgon Stein also has a Bible this week, so you know, it's going to be interesting to see how they prepare for this because I guarantee you they weren't looking at this game it's going to be what it could possibly be. They're probably looking well, we're playing Arizona. I can't remember who they get. Do they get you? Not? Utah? I don't know who

they get after us? Who Oregon State gets? Yeah? So here here's the thing though, Every game on every game on the schedule now for everybody, it's tough. There's no real Jimmy cow maybe the Kilbi because Stafford who knows at home every game is a gauntlet, or or Landline, yeah, or Oregon State as I think I was listening to somebody you know today. Oregon States I think is particularly uh uh difficult, as is Washington. Well,

everybody's is, but yeah, I'm getting it up right now. Oregon State after after two is we went through this gauntlet for three weeks, right, and and it was I mean we even though we went one and two, we fared very well. It was you know, we were never embarrassed by anything. Uh. We went out and that those kids, they fought their butts off. You gotta get all the game. You got to get that coaching staff a lot of credit for what they did to prepare this team.

They did an amazing job. So Bill, I can't don't know if you, Brian, if you're going to buy tickets do you go to the games? Yes, so I think that's what it did too. They yes, sold tickets. They sold some tickets for well, well it's going to be a sellout. Are close to it? Y seven West for Washington game. Yeah, they got announced it's the seven thirty game. I think I was. I was rooting for that four thirty slot. I thought that would

have been great. Yeah, that would that would have been really nice. All of the students would all be drunk by the time they get there. Yeah. To follow up after Arizona, the Oregon State go to Colorado, then back home to Stanford and then they close out with Washington and Oregon. Yeah, and you know, and playing what Stanford's done lately, and you know in Colorado, you can't tell what they're gonna do. I mean, they're gonna they could be really good, but they got to kick them on

the road. And you know, I know they blew that game with Stanford, which is the most amazing thing. I was, like everybody else. I turned it off at twenty nine to nothing and then woke up the next

day and I saw the score and almost a heart attack. Did you see that stat that they said the teams that were up twenty nine to nothing or more at halftime over I don't know what period of time we're two hundred and forty eight and oh oh yeah, yeah, oh right, oh no, yeah, you know, I don't know what Dion's gonna say to his team. You know, I don't know who they play this week, but you

know it's not going to be easy. Well. A piece of his post a piece of his postgame speech was on was on social media and he was oh yeah, sure, well you know, you know you s He was talking about loving people loving the game. Yeah, they all love the game like he does, right, and they need to they need to. Yeah, all right, Brian, you know hopefully huh the defense will figure out a system because Oregon State is a good team. Ye they are. But

I I the Arizona is going to be the underdog. But I think I'm gonna say right now, there is gonna wins this game. I really do. I would not be surprised. They need they need to, that's all they need. Yep, yep, all right, Brian, Hey, thanks about appreciate the call as always, so so I don't need to remind you Jay that, uh, the two games, if there was three, there was three, but there was two games for sure that we said they had to win one State and Oregon State, and they won one, and they

won one. Now you have a chance to really yeah, take us you know again, you look at you look at their schedule. Come to the call. Yeah, let's take that close back, Okay, go ahead, Yeah, I mean you look you look at Arizona schedule. As we said last week. You know, you can win them all, you can lose them all. You know, they've got Oregon State UCLA I just is not

very good. You know, they've got really good defense, when the best defenses in the country, but offensively, I don't know that they can stay with Arizona. Hi, you're on the r and I on the ball. Hey Jay, this is Don. How you doing Don? How are you? I'm doing goodhoods. After that game Saturday, yep, holy moly fun to watch. I tell you, I'll tell you what what you brought it

up? When Washington State went for two after that first drive, It kissed me off right right, because that's that's that that would be something you might expect. That's like those teams that never punt, right. You know, it's a cockingesth that thing, And then why would you go for two to

start the game. Well, you know, and you know, and I know that I can't remember what I had for lunch today, but I remember in the twenty thirteen or in game when they played here, Oregon they did that too, They went for two on their first touchdown, and you know, and it was just the same. It's a sign of disrespect. Well, and then arizonas beat the hell out of them. Well do you see Oregon did the same thing, right, I think against Washington or Washington did

the same thing. Whoever did the It was eight zero zero, and I'm thinking that's what they want. They just went unestablished, established their offense, right, you got to catch me. It was Oregon because they took the eight to seven league, and why not? Why not? It's like, don I'm I'm the opposite of you. If I'm going to dominate, I'm not gonna punt, I'm not gonna do anything. It's the fourth and one, I'm going for it. Well yeah, but you got to back it

up. And I think and what was better than Washington State going for two after the first touchdown was when the Arizona defense would make Washington State wait while we changed d line after they make you know, they were trying to do stuff and then they would substitute, and you have to let the defense substitute, and our guys were they were in that little half trot coming out, so our defensive line was still on second quarter legs at the end of that

game, you know. And then the thing going back to that, going for two things again, you run the risk that you've just scored a touchdown, you don't get the two point conversion. You're getting to other team a shot in the arm, and that's exactly what happened. And then Arizona goes and scores a touchdown and now they have the lead. That was the shot

in the arm. Yes, that was a shot absolutely well it's it's also a shot in the arm, but it's CRUs up your math, yeah, because now you have two field goals, not a touchdown exactly, a touchdown and an extra point. You're down one, and then if it's a field goal, now you're down four and you have to score a touchdown. So the disrespect and then the way the defense, well the offense to both both sides of the ball just killed it. Saturday. Yeah, I was never

good at common Core. I was never to do the common Cord maths, so you're confusing me right now. It was very fun to watch. Well, it's well you I'll come on, Steve. You know that if you miss it, you know they and they always say it. They remind you. They remind you every time on every telecast. Oh that missed extra point could come back to hunting. That's the math, not massing. Well, thank you very much, I write that down all right, keep keep that

straight. Hey, and don't forget Jake Fisher had Arizona by double dit. You know he did. He'll be he'll be glowedy. I saw scroll the other day. Hey, if if UFC was supposed to be that good and Arizona was that tight, in my opinion, there Arizona, so they wouldn't go undefeated the rest of the way. So they'll lose one that they shouldn't if our history is what it is, right, good point. As long as it's not a SU. Just don't lose the SU. Just don't lose.

Thanks for bringing it up. Lose exactly. There you go down. Thanks about man. I appreciate the call. That's right. That hadn't been talked about. I know I know that dead looms out there. It always does. I hate that. I've told you I hate that game every year game' I hate that game. It's gonna be up there too, So I'm we'll probably need to win to go to a ball. No, I think they'll get it done before that. Yeah, even I have to say that. Okay, well, look more call Hi, you're on the air and

nine the ball I got did Jim Dam? It's been a while. What's up? I'm now how much controversial is are going to be over who should start at court? I think I think it's gonna die down. I think, yeah, I think it's gonna go quiet for a while. And I think by the time we get to game time, it's gonna be Yeah, it's just gonna be norf Afita and they're just gonna say we're winning with him. We got there's no reason to take them out, I would think.

I mean, here's a couple of pots for you that went through my empty. Gotta be real quick, tim We only got about a minute. Okay, we've got the defense is good now. Jade Delora has been out for three games, and that sort of reminds me of the little dog Dinky on the movie Vacation. I gotta google that now. And here's why. The game was sort of dragging the defense along like the dog because they they didn't have any time of possession and they kept turning the ball over. Yeah,

okay, Dinky, all right, yes, got that. All right, jimm we gotta we gotta run. We're at the end of the show for calling that. We haven't heard from you to call us again. We haven't talked some baseball, so give us another call. All right? Did you guys get not even a little bit? I cried when old Yeller died. All right, Okay, well we were getting real quick. I was getting. I think Arizona gets gets their sixth win in the next three games.

Wow, they were at Oregon State u c l A. Colorado. I think I think I think they went to I think they went two of those. Okay, it'd be awesome to go to a su playing with house money. Yeah, Abs, absolutely all right, we're out of here, right, Yeah, all right, Sammy, nice job and at least thank nice job. Thank you for being here. You kind of got got the concept, right, Yeah, all right, all right, and Steve, I'll talk to you tomorrow. I know who this is yeah, yeah Marley yeah,

Okay, alright, we're not table. I'm saying
