Streaming live on the iHeartRadio Whip. This is Ie on the Ball with Steve Rovera and Jay Gonzalez on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Hey, welcome back to winning the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve, he's Jake. Now we have Kevin with breaking news. This is Eye on the Ball, breaking news on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. All right, So, as Sauce Gardner, the corner for the New York Jets, tweeted today, it looks like a Maden franchise has gone broken out in the NFL. Everybody is

moving everything, a lot of money's moving around. We're gonna go ahead and starting New York. Saquon Barkley has left the Giants and moved to the division rival Philadelphia Eagles on a three year, thirty seven million dollar contract. Fans are not happy. Uh, New York fans are not happy. You're New York fans for all fans of all fans of not the Eagles. Yes, yes, yes, all non involved parties and non Giants fans. Yeah,

they're not happy. They are doing wrong things to his jersey, uh, you know, unsanitary things, and yeah, the Eagles have moved on from

DeAndre Swift as well, and he's gonna go to the Bears. But Tiki Barber came out and said that Saquon is now dead to him, and Saquan responded with you didn't like me anyway, don't try to smile as if, as if Tiki Barber would not have, you know, in the situation that Bartle was in, would not have also gone to a team like the Eagles that you know, Uh, it was in the super Bowl and was a

game away from the super Bowl this year. I was surprised he didn't go to Houston, to be completely honest, just because you're losing Jason Kelsey. Yeah, I feel like that's gonna be a bigger deal than maybe we think it's gonna be. Yeah, because the the iconic push push does not work without Kelsey, so at least not work as well. Well, maybe we'll see. Russell Wilson has gone to the Steelers on a one year, one point two. He did that. There was talk, you know, speculation

that he was going in the Bronx one year deal. Yeah, and the Broncos are gonna pay the brunt of the thirty seven point eight million dollars for Wilson not to play for their franchise. Here's money. Gift the hell out of here. Yeah, that is how you run an NFL franchise competently. Don't even go back to Denver Gardner Minshew to the Raiders. He joins Max Crosby, who he quoted, is saying Max Crosby is so mean. NFL films caught him saying last yearn was how old he's like your age? Didn't

you know he's not way titt way tittle. I think I think it's not got four or five years of the twenty eight, maybe thirty one at the oldest. Maybe's the mustache. Kirk Cousins has signed with the Falcons on a huge four year, one hundred and eighty million dollar contract. Now that's one that I just want to spit talking about mediocrity. Right, he's gonna make if he if he if this contract pays out completely one hundred and eighty million

dollars, he will have made over four hundred million dollars playing football. And he's as you said, media, don't get christened here because he hates the guy because he played old Chris Oh. I saw him in the hallway. He lost his mind. He was so happy he get rid of him. Yeah, he was so happy. Well, so, if you look at kirk Cousins contracts throughout his career. At twenty twelve, he signed a standard four year rookie deal twenty sixteen and nineteen point nine million dollar fully guaranteed,

and then the next year twenty three point nine million dollar fully guaranteed. These are all fully guaranteed now up until his newest contract eighty four million dollars, sixty six million dollars, thirty five million dollars and now one hundred and fifty with one hundred million dollars guaranteed. Actually hundred and eighty one chart actually had it incorrect. Yeah, one hundred and eighty million dollars, one hundred million

guaranteed. And again he's not he's not been good. He's certainly not been great. That's four hundred and eleven million dollars for twenty twenty seven right there, for good old Kirko. Can I just ask him for one of those, just w one, it's one million, I would take half, I'll take I'm young, Yeah, I'm not, Yeah, I'm not picky. Unbelievable. Yeah, the packers have made a couple couple of different roster moves with longtime players. Aaron Jones has been let go and so has David Baktiari.

It's unclear if Bakti is going to retire or trying to seek employment for another team. We assume Aaron Jones will look for another job, and they have also replaced him with Josh Jacobs the Raiders and the Raiders well, it was it was funny watching Twitter because the announcement came out first that they got Josh Jacobs, So Packers fans were on there saying we've got a great one

too for Jones and Jones and Jacobs were gonna be awesome. And then a little bit later came out that they're relieve that Jacobs was replacing Jones because they're releasing Aaron Jones. What is it? Jacobs and Jones sounds like a good buddy cup or a law firm, Jabs Jones law firm. The Jaguars have signed bill star receiver Gabe Davis to a three year deal. The Bengals. T Higgins, after being franchised tagged, has now requested a trade from the

team. Uh away from Joe Burrow. You think that he'd want to stay with a quarterback like Joe Burrow next to Jamar Chase, getting the second best corner on the team, maybe even third on some plays. The Raiders have gone out and signed Christian Wilkins to a big time, four year, one hundred and ten million dollar deal. The Dolphins are kind of for sale in a lot of ways. Then a lot of their players goes David Howard,

Christian Wilkins, just to name a couple big players there. Austin Eckler you mentioned earlier off air Jay that he might be going to the Commander's for two years around eleven million dollars. And Derek Henry is on his way out, probably to Baltimore or Houston, it looks like at this point, and the Titans have replaced him with Tony Pollard from the Cowboys. From the Cowboys, so you wonder if does Aaron Jones not wind up with the Cowboys because they

haven't they need a running back now, right? He does seem like a cowboy, doesn't, Yeah, he really does it. Just guy's moving around. But this thing you're burning the jersey of a guy who's left, you know, to get a job. I mean the Giants clarity did want him. I even saw some jerseys and some bathrooms. Yeah, jersey in the toilet are expensive, very expensive. And and really he didn't do anything to you, right, like he just took a job. You're really just burning

your own clothes. Fans fans are fans, fans are wild. Kobe Bryant's brand new statue in LA has some spelling errors on it. Jose Calderon and Von Waffer's names were both misspelled, in addition to decision being misspelled in the word in the phrase coaches decision. And this is this like outside Stable Center. It's his brand new statue outside Staples Center with him doing the point. And yeah, the Lakers postperson came out and said that they're gonna immediately try

to get this fixed as quick as possible. So it should never have been a problem in the first place. Somebody proof read this stuff. Man, come on, two people, how'd the internet do it? And then big news. Pima Community College has now earned an automatic bid into the national Ornament after defeating Chandler Gilbert just three points in the Region one Division two championship this past weekend. There were a number two seed. They beat the one seed

and then the women, Sary Ray. The women looks they have the I guess their things tomorrow, their view their viewing party, so they'll be in the tournament and then the women will probably get a invite in at large bit in a large bit. Good for them again, college man knocking it out as always. It's always impressive when you could score one hundred and four points a game and then within the title game with just sixty four points. Well,

and that's and that's Arizona's demise. You play in the sixties, they're done pretty much. Yeah, you know, there's only the weekend was the lowest points they put together. Slow them down. You got a chance, throw zone, you got a chance. The Alabama's of the world. Aaron, Yeah, exactly. Former Wildcat Benedict Mathern is going to undergo season ending so shoulder surgery on his torn labor in his right shoulder. I was going

to keep them out for the rest of the year. And Jolinardi has moved Arizona into the second two seed and Colorado is now in the first four in Yeah, I don't know if you've mentioned this. When Kevin Leeman said there's no way there will be a number one. No, no, again. And part of it is that they just don't have good enough teams to play because they can run through the Pac twelve and and and you know the bracket guys can go who cares? Yeah, who cares? Before supposedive, well,

who cares? They lost to ten eleven twelve right there. Shot even had they beaten USC they you know it was a long shot. Yeah, it was long shot. It was a long shot. But now the North Carolina has hopped over them on the Tennessee's seed tennant. So right now it's it's Purdue on one to six. In order to Purdue, Yukon and Houston are together, and then you got Tennessee North Carolina, then Arizona. Then the other ones on the two line are Marquette and Iowa State, and Jolinardi

has Arizona in the Tennessee bracket. So you know, hey, don't talk about this whole thing about you know, whether you're ready now, you know, Yukon came out and just beat the living hell a lot of Providence on Saturday. You know, when you know they were in the same position as Arizona, they won the league, they're you know, they're they're you know, they're number one seed, and yet they showed up and when it beat the hell out of Providence, that Providence, I'm gonna lit them up.

And and you go, that's where you shake your head about Arizona. You go, guys, why can't you be that every game? Maybe they are who they are and we've seen it, we saw surprise, but we shouldn't be. Now what else do you have that all I have? Let me ask you, Jay, So it would it be a shock to you surprised? I don't know what level? Uh if if kill a Love is not the clearly no, it wouldn't. Because this conference is all has shown that

they don't vote for Arizona guys. I'm a bitter soul. I was just gonna say, well, because because because they're looking for a reason to not vote for an Arizona guy, the way they'd always look for to not vote for Luke for Coach of the Year. It's like, well, Arizona, you're really good and you get all the good players, so we're gonna give this to somebody else. kJ Lewis is not better than Caleb Love. Sorry, no, no, no, no, no. Jim is not better

than Caleb Love. He's not you know, let me put it this way, Nobody's had a better season in the Pac twelve than Caleb Love. It's that simple. Arizona's won the league one that you know, hands down, he's the best player. He's really good. He's better than all those other guys. I'm sorry, kJ sent but there it's like, well, he's really good, so let's give it to somebody, not Arizona. I really feel like that that that happens. Well, one Bay Area writer a former

colleague. He works out of San Francisco. He chose Simpson. Uh, your buddy and our buddy, Willner had Caleb Love. But let me give you also two how many guys from you they deserve to be on the first name? Two? Maybe three? First team pack twelve. I'm gonna say

two almost almost give me the name. So Bumar and Caleb and then you could you could make a case for Pala, Larson and and Key said, well, okay, so here's Wilner's top first team and second team, right, uh, kleb Love, Miles, Rice, kJ Simpson, Jordan Pope, Keon Brooks. That's first second team. Oh he only got five. Well Pa made the second team and that was it. Well, Paco does ten third team, So he made the ten h third team. Nobody?

Okay, so and and the thing is yeah again that the thing is because both Kapella and and key Shot have had games where they've just not showed up, but they have them consistently there. Yeah, so I I didn't I wouldn't have a problem with them being left off or I think that. I think both of those guys are at least second team, which the way they do it, they did ten teams, ten players first team on a five player second team. You know, I put those guys on the second team

and all defensive team. Bradley made the team and so did the so did No, No, no, Bradley did And that was it. That was it in terms of defense. Yeah, defense was It was Bradley. And I like the way he's played. Did you notice anything from that Saturday game in terms of Bradley the way he played you, No, I'll have to go back and show you maybe one days we see anybody played all that well? Nobody did? Well, I don't know, follow me have I mean, it was just a bad game. Yeah, and you just said we

were just throwing stuff at their TV. It was just a bad taste, you know, all the way around with every players, like none of you guys showed up, you know to win this game, and and there was a total team loss. Yeah, and again disappointing to see that. Don't argue with you. I know you're right on that one. You never write to your right on that one. We're run to a steam here. welcome back to I Thebaull Here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve, He's Jay and I won if on we have Corey Williams, former Uba basketball player and ESPN basketball analyst. How are you, Corey? You're doing pretty good. How you guys doing fine? Thank you? You've done this a number of years now. I don't know if this year is any different because of how crazy it's been, But has it? I know last year we talked about parody and all that stuff. Was that any any different than

the years past? This year? I think the teams that are finish the top the conference in the Pac twelve are pretty solid. You know, you look at Colorado, you look at Utah, you look at Oregon. Teams that need to play well in Vegas to get off the bubble and possibly get their way in. But I would say the top half of the league is pretty firmly set. There's not a whole lot. I'm not expecting a lot of surprises this week. Yeah, no, of course, Yeah, you're

talking about the pac twelve or across the board. Just pack twelve across the board, across the board. What you're saying is actually true. I think people have done the best job they can trying to say what's what. We've got a number of number one teams and no one's been able to stay king of the mountain for too long. I honestly think the talent spread is just

going to continue. Yeah, in this trend where nobody's really going to be able to mask a team that's going to stay number one for an extended amount of time. So you've watched Arizona enough, obviously a number of times. I watch them all the time, and Jay we talk about what we see. I see inconsistency, and it's a perplexing season when you see Arizona.

What do you think in moments Arizona is the best team in the nation, and then in moments there are glimpses of a team that could lead the tournament early. They are not yet the sum of their parts. When you look at their roster, they should be far and away beating everybody by twenty five every night. Just if everybody's playing at full potential and they're playing together, there have been games where they've been that team, but for the majority of

the time, in my opinion, they look a little disjointed. They're extremely talented. There's a number of games that they've won just based on sheer talent. There have been games where they've executed and got wins when they were supposed to. But I really don't feel like they played their best basketball game. I really don't. What do you ever wonder what they're waiting for to do

that? Well? Basketball teams are pretty complicated. Coaches will do their part, but there's a settling effect that happens among players, and it's something that the coaches have nothing to do with it. Guys know their position, they know their roles, they know what shots they're supposed to be. Hey, somewhere throughout the middle of the season, the team just has an understanding of this is how we play, this is my job, these are my expectations,

this is what's going to happen at night in and night out. This Arizona team, to me, just never has really settled up on that. I think when you look at this team, they can beat you so many different ways. Boswell can get hot and beat you. Cay leb Bluf can get hot and beat you. Pela larks And can have a double double and beat you Allmarballo and Keith Shawan can dominate the paint and they can beat you. You really just need a little bit from everybody, and they're unstoppable.

But what seems to happen with this team. You get one or two players a night and the other three it's just not in rhythm. And I'm really wondering if this team can ever play with all kind of talents and six shots players. I mean we're talking about you know, Bradley coming up player. I mean, it's got They only need to get seventy five percent from every

and they would crush people. Absolutely. Yeah. Well you play there and let me kind of go through your your history, and in fact, I want to ask you, given the success of your career, so ninety three year freshman, ninety three, ninety four obviously sophomore than the years up to that, but which was the better team of all them? Even though you got to a Final four with Clinton Damon and you were a contributor. Then you got to the sweet sixteen with the ninety six team that was pretty damn

good with a bunch of seniors. But you know what, as I looked back the ninety two ninety three team, holy crap, you guys were very good until the end. Our ninety two ninety three team would was probably our most talented team. That's the team that probably should have ended up going to a Final four, if not winning the national championship. When you look at

the team and the players that were on that roster. We had one of the biggest offsets in the NCAA history, losing the Steve Nash and Santa Clara. But that team, I believe at one point that year we won nineteen straight games, and we were number two in the country and we were lowly with NBA players. That team was by far the most talented my senior year team. I felt like, if we could have gotten over the hump,

we were getting great guard playing. We had good young guys. Ben Davis was playing really well, Reggie Gary, myself, Miles Vickerson, Mike Dickerson, Miles Simons. Yeah, a really good team my senior year as well, so well, if I could real quick, so let me ask you, I'm glad you said the ninety two ninety three team you won nineteen straight. You lost only one game against Cal in the conference, and then Santa Clara comes and slows you down. How does stuff like that happen given that

you've experienced it. It happens because you start playing the moment and not the game. Oh my god, there's eight minutes to go at a two point game. You know, what are we going to do to win instead of just relaxing and playing the game? Are there is no disrespect, but our second string would beat Santa Claara seven out of ten times. Yeah. As a freshman, I felt comfortable saying our second string. I could have went

out there and played Santa Clara. We were that talented. But in the tournament, when that clock is winding down and there's only eleven minutes left in your season or four minutes left in your season, you stop playing time, you stop playing loose, and you start playing the situation. And that's how

those things happen. We see it every year, five or six games where an underdog allows leverage and pressure and momentum to build up in their favor, and when you're the favorite in the tournament, the only place to go is down. If you win, nobody back to night because you were the higher seed and you were supposed to So you step out on that court with everything to lose and nothing to gain except the game that everyone's expecting you to win.

So it's a really odd formula for the NCAA tournament March madness. You just have to go out there and play the game with a chip on your shoulder and not paying attention to who you're playing, and that's how you advance and survive. Right, No, we talked about that ere Yeah, which it's puzzling that, you know, again, a team that good can lose to a Santa Clara or a team like this team that Arizona has, where you said they could be the best team in the country when they're playing all

together, and they lose to the three worst teams in the league. Yeah. I mean, it's one of those situations where your identity and your motivation come into play. I think coaches try to manufacture that edge, that toughness, that desire, that nastiness, because that's what you're going to need.

I think going out there with something to prove, going out there with a chip on your shoulder, that's the safest way for a talented team and a tournament because, like you said, there's really no upside when everybody's picking you to make it to the final four. Those are the expectations. That's just another form of pressure. So you have to flip that and block it out and play for something else. Yeah youah, no question, totally agree with

you. So you spend a lot of time this season the West Coast, mostly covering a lot of the teams who were maybe one or two of the three best teams you saw. Well. To be honest with you, I liked Arizona Obviously, they played well. Oregon had a ton of injuries. I really thought the Utah youths would be would challenge Arizona for the Pac twelve title. They're very good, very talented. They just couldn't put it together on the road. They lost a lot of games on the road that they

shouldn't have dropped. I was really impressed with them when I watched them play. Washington State obviously did a great job, but it was really BYU. I had them early, and I knew that they were gonna turn some heads in the Big twelve just because of their style of play, and most Big twelve schools weren't used to going to the Marriott Center and dealing with that crowd in that atmosphere. So I wasn't surprised by you. I definitely was pleasantly

surprised by Saint Mary's. I knew they'd be good, but I didn't know that they'd win it out right the way that they have in the WCC. So it's a good year where I think there's going to be five or sixteen from the West Coast that hopefully can make some noise in the tournament. I mean again, we just sit here and watch this and as Steve and I, you know, started out the show, it's like to me after they lost to the US, see, nothing changed in terms of what I think

about Arizona. They can still lose to a bad team and they can still beat the best team. But when you look at those teams that are up there right now, Purdue, Yukon, Tennessee, Houston, you know, where does Arizona fit in there? Do you think? And you don't think they're same? About ten? I mean I don't, actually actually I do. I think that anybody who can tell you those top team, those top ten, I don't think there's any separation from anybody in the top ten that's

just me being blunt. Okay, those those rankings one through ten, you can flip a coin on any given night. The thing that as an Arizona fan that helps me be positive. Arizona has done the work the sedule this year. They've gone to these places, They've played the top teams in the country, They've gone to Hockel environments. Their schedule should pay dividends for them in Vegas and as well when the tournament starts, because there's not going to

be any situation that they've been in that they haven't been in previously. This year, it doesn't get any tuffers than at Cameron. They played Purdue, they played Michigan State, they played in the Florida Atlantic, which turned out to not really be a good loss to them. But you know, they've had people gunning for them the entire season. Every road game's been contentious. There have been nights where they've come out and handled their business and crushed the

competition, and there's nights where they took hells. So there's nothing new around the corner for Arizona. The question is can they dig deep and play with a chip on their shoulder with something to prove Okay, would you be surprised if Caleb Love was not the player of the year in the conference. I'm definitely surprised. There's no question he's the best player the best team, Caleb.

Caleb Love made so many great plays and big shots for Arizona. It's one thing to shoot a lot, but he made a lot and I got to give him credit for that. Whose shot selection at times for me have a little too much to deal with, and I think it's one of those situations where you live by the sword, you die by the sword. But with Arizona you've got more than one sword, so he doesn't have to shoot

bad shots. Going into the postseason. He's out on a team where he doesn't have other capable players, so good shot selection from him, balanced attack offensively. I think Arizona's definitely a Final four team. Let me ask you, because you've covered a lot of guys at Euve and beyond, who does Caleb remind you of? Most? At least here at you, I really don't have a guy you know, because of his distance and not afraid I know Loot would have been really felt the same way you do. What are

you doing shooting those twenty five footers. No, no, And see that's the thing. At a different time. It's twenty twenty four and the coaches have opened up the shot selection and the way that these guys play. The reason Caleb Love doesn't compare to anybody in past Arizona history is no one has had that type of green light. Even as much as Gilbert Green scored when

he got to the pros, he wasn't shoot like that At Arizona. There were guys, I mean, David Stottamar was a lot of your pick and had the green light going into his senior year, and he didn't shoot a lot of the looks that Caleb shot. The game that's changed, and that's not a knock on Caleb. He's taking the same shot his counterparts are taken all across the country. This is just the first time Arizona fans are seeing somebody do it in one of our jerseys. But yeah, that's why he

doesn't ring any bells. He doesn't compare to anybody because we haven't ever had a player that could literally shoot ten feet from behind the arc and stay in the game without anybody betting or not true. Let's talk about colem Boza for a second. He went through that that period out of whatever you want to call it. He just seemed like out of sorts or whatever. Played a couple of good games. Obviously everybody played bad on Saturday. But you're your

thoughts on kind of Boswell and Tommy Key's you know, trumpeting. Well, he's only eighteen years old, but he's got a lot of games under his belt. I don't know if that the inexperienced card can continue to be played. Well, it can. It can't because you're right, there's experiences and situations that are happening to him for the second and third time, and that's when the learning curve. That's when the learning process starts. I think what

he's having is two things. One, you're coming into college sports. That's a huge jump. Then you're coming into one of the top premier programs in the country. That's a huge jump. Now you're having everybody come gunning for You're trying to make a name off you. The point guard matches have been ferocious, people trying to come at you because they know he was an ESPN

top pick in the country. They know a lot of the proceige and height that he came to Arizona with individual matchup each night in somebody trying to make a name off of him, and he's like, wait a minute, I just got here. And then the other thing is, I think a lot of people forget for all college athletes. If you're doing it the right way.

Basketball gets harder each year. You're going up against better competition, You're in more difficult situations, there's more at stake, so you've got to elevate your play. And I think he struggled early because I didn't think he understood the seriousness of playing point guard in Arizona. He's immensely talented, he's a great kid, He's going to be a great pro someday. But I think he really thought that there was an area where once I get the hang of

it, it's going to be easy. And it's like, no, they're going to keep coming for you. Coaches are going to keep scheming for you. You have to continue to get better each day. And I think Tim they finally got through to him towards the end of the season. So what's the schedule for you moving forward? Well, I'm going to try to get over to Vegas Wednesday and watch some of the PAC twelve on Wednesday, Thursday.

I've got the Big West semi finals and finals on Friday and Saturday, So hopefully our Wildcat will be playing in the finals and I'll be calling the game but watching from my phone. Okay, and then and then you're done for the year. Well, there's still a question. I think there's a lot of Pac twelve teams that will take an n T invitation. So hopefully I'll grab a couple of n I two games on the way out and that'll be that. One of these days, I want to be Corey Williams.

Thank Corey as always, Thank you man, appreciate you. Hey, no prop, thanks for having Corey Williams. You got a little boat tie on. You know, you got to list some weight and get a little taller. Still a big dude, okay, yeah, good. You learn how to shoot the ball exactly. Okay, we'll pass the ball, okay, cool? All right. I think he's talking the same and some of the things that we've said, he just says it better. So we'll come back

and talk more about it. All right. Stick around. If you're an Arizona men's basketball fan, you know it's been success for nearly forty years. Now, take a look back at the Ludolsen Era. They have their Eye on the Ball on Tucson Sports Stage Chat Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. Hey, welcome back to Eying the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve, he's Jay got came on with us. This is your final sixteen minutes to get with us. We're not going to be here tomorrow or the day after or the

day after. Yes, that not a vacation. Nope, not a vacation. This is their last show of the week. Steve and I are both at the PACKEDF tournament. Steve Covernet for All Sports Tucson. I work for the PAC twelve at the tournament, so busy week ahead of us, and then with the timing of the daylight savings time which started yesterday, and then the game's being moved up on Friday, and no ability to do a show from Vegas on Friday as we've done in the past, right right, Sorry

to say yeah, because we always enjoyed doing that. A lot of people come and see us where we were. Yeah, but we'll be back next week. Yep. Get ready for the tournament. Yep, we'll get ready for the tournament. I'm Steve is gonna be gone a bit with that, but I'll be around and we'll keep having shows and we'll try and get some some great guests hosting. It might be a quick trip maybe or maybe not. You know what I I you know they're gonna get to the second weekend.

I do to two question is okay, now who do you match up with? And what happens after that? Very much? And that's and that's just the way the term is. And it's like that for everybody. You see the latest you've seen the latest Lunari bread potology. Right, yeah, what do the second round game look like? Uh? You just have to guess and you'd be right. Oh Gonzaga, yeah, yeah, yeah,

yeah. I don't know who would have the edge there psychologically or mentally because you have your former coach who left, right, and so although you know, and so your players here playing hard for you here, right, but over there playing even harder because you left, right. I think they would both hate it. Oh there, No, both coaches would absolutely they didn't want to do it. They didn't want to do it already, right,

they would absolutely positively hate having to play each other. And we talked to Begnado, right, and then I was in that that thing. They're not into conspiracies, right, but this year looks like one. Well again, you know, if Gonzaga were to where they are on the seed line and then they would probably be in the West, and if arizonas in the West, that just it would just happen. Yeah, yeah, you know, you know, the question is what happens to Gonzaga in their tournament coming up?

Sure and stuff like they are a favorite to win it, even though they did win the regular season. They are a favorite to win it. Yeah, you know, and again, you know, was was Tommy Lloyd mark few secret sauces you like to say, you know, and there's a lot of people who's who are saying that that. You know that you know, Gonzaga last year now this year where they've taken a little a little further step back. Is this the Tommy Lloyd effect of him being gone? You

know, whether it's recruiting, coaching, whatever. Yeah, No, if you want to call police, do we'd like to hear from you? Five two zero four one six seventy four forty we've already had a few calls, or a couple of calls already. Yeah, talk about what this team will look like. The women have some time to wait, think a couple of their bracketology things they've gotten in they're in. Yeah, do you think that usc winning it all? The last weekend helps I do. Yeah, Well,

I don't know. Does it diminish does it diminute? It helps their losses to USC But it does it diminish their win against Stanford? Yeah, I don't. Well, they didn't have the twitcher and the tall little against when there's the Yeah, but when you could play the champion close two consecutive times. Yeah, had them on the brink and then it didn't work. I I see that they get in and I didn't. Didn't. Today I met the s I d for the first time. Women's You probably already met

her. Yeah, I hadn't met her before. What's your capacity? I said, Well, I think you're you're one of the better, better stories on campus, don't you think? Know what what what it has had to do? Yeah? You know again, if you could get past the why did all these girls leave? And just look at what she's done with what she's got. Yeah, that's a pretty good story. She's done a great job. And although that the first part of your first partment, it's part

part of it. It's part of the course of the party, you know, And sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It looks like it worked.

Yeah, because they're playing their butts off for they are they are and you know, and there there was a debate, I think it was on Twitter, and I don't know who was holding the debate about some people saying, well, maybe it's better for them to go play in the n I t because they get more games they'll play at home, and I'm like, no, you want to be in the n C Double A Tournament even if you lose in the first round of the NC Double A Tournament. And look,

these seven girls have played enough. They don't need to just go play a bunch more games. What they what they want and what I think what they would like to have is a is a chance to get into the n C DOUBLEA Tournament, maybe win a game, maybe playing another one. Sure, well, what would they be twelve thirteen? So if you're playing, you're playing twelve thirteen, you're playing a three or four whatever it is. Yeah, but I don't want to be a three or four to play this

team. They've already capable of being a number two, right, Yeah, USC and Stafford are going to be twos and ones or both maybe both twos, so you know, and Arizona's handled those two teams pretty well. Again didn't beat us either time, but took them to the wire both times. Then they beat Stanford, which proves that they can handle a lot of teams. Yeah, yeah, okay, So anybody want to call five two, four, one, six, seventy four forty our final day here final eleven

minutes on the show. A couple of left over breaking news things that we didn't get to. First of all, a spring spring practice has been announced. The schedule is where you have a football spring practice. It starts on March twenty sixth, the Tuesday, and runs through April twenty seventh, when the spring game will be played. The practices will be open to the public like they have like they were under Jet. I imagine they'll do it the same way, you know, be able to sit in on the sidelines and

whatnot, and you know you go watching practice. But they put out the schedule of fifteen practices that start on Tuesday, March twenty six They basically have three practices a week, so Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday practices again, ending with the spring game on Saturday, April the twenty seventh. Yeah okay, And then a study came out, Well we'll go back to this one Jose Perez. I saw that. I want to talk about that. Yeah, he quit the team like right before the game Saturday. But it turns

up somebody found this. He's already playing for us. His uh, his uh for the Dominican Republic, right, uh is always yeah? Or is he he's already played international? Yeah, he's playing internationally in the Dominican Republic. Already had a game over the week, right, I guess he he was. He had scored twenty five that Thursday, decided not to return, and he says in loyalty, there's one thing about loyalty. Sometimes you need have it or don't have it or whatever, and it's just you know,

and sometimes you gotta be true to yourself too. And then that's on to a team right away. Yeah he's out, you know, he's not playing professionally already, and good for him, you know again the typical thing in Arizona fans saying typical as typical son devil who quent on his team gott Yeah, yeah sure, but you look, you know, the guy had a job offer, he took the job offer. Isn't that way you go to college? Well that's the things I've heard. Yeah, you know, how's

that coming with your job search? You know what's going I would say it's going okay, all right, good to hear as much as I can tell you we're going to here. Yeah, we're gonna mission. Good to hear. And then a study just came out uh today. Uh study that was done by the u of A. Was actually done by the college or the Department of Agriculture and Resource Economics, that measured U of A athletics impact economics and what did it say? Came out to said, uh, on a

yearly basis two hundred and sixty five million dollars a year. That that is, Yeah, that it when you all the things that throw in there, says the economic impact comes in the form of direct spend from visitors, taxes generated by their purchases, thousands of jobs supported by Arizona Athletics events. So uh, it's uh, you know, the the with the jobs and all that kind of stuff. It just it adds up to a whole bunch of miney's a million dollars. Let me go to a place where and that's not

a shock. I mean, did this one drives the city? Yeah? And the love for the ub Let me go a place where I didn't expect to go here. But did you see the l s U South Carolina? I did, I did? What did you think of it? Winking? The most interesting thing was how the two coaches handled right and what did you think about this? Go to both sides? Uh? The self killer coach, very well respected, Took took the high road and said, you know, this is on us. We gotta you know, we gotta be better

at this. I gotta be better at this. She apologized for what her team did as you know, uh you know, uh it's a named Don Stately. Don Staley you know, said all those things and Took took took it. And then Kim Mulkey basically came. I said, I wish she'd gone after winning this. Other players that she would have kicked her ass. And that's Kim Mulky, That's who she is. Yea. She said she wished she had pushed Angel because she's six smaller and you know again just then

that's why these things happen. Mhm. But Kim, that's who Kim Malky is. I told you she if she was here for when Arizona hosted the first and second round, and she was mean, I'll just put it that way. Let's take this call Hi on the air and one on the ball. Hey, guys, I haven't heard all the programs, so I'm sorry I'm repetitive, but considering the game against USC for the future, sure, what do you guys think or what have you heard from others? What is

the strategy for Lloyd? Now? If the three pointers are not hitting, can they get the ball at the ball a more? I mean he was you know we shot, well you can rebonded? Well, what what what's going to be the strategy? Well, that's the if the two polers are going down, I think this is mister. Is that right? That would be it? Yeah? So could you do what you do? I mean,

go to Tobolo. I think I was surprised. I think he leads or is in the top ten conference or whatever it is for a fild goal percentage in the paint in Arizona is one of the better teams, right, go to him until you can't go to him, and then Crevis has done very well too. But but but Frank, I don't think that the team

is going to go as dry as they did Saturday night. And Frank, I you know they're gonna do what they what they do, right, if they're having a game like that, you know there's something they're supposed to be doing. It just none of it worked on Saturday, not sure. And that's and that's the thing about what what you see with this team is that they can go into a funk like that and lose to anybody. But at this point, as we say, they are who they are, and they're

gonna do whatever it is they've been doing all season long. And if it's not going well from outside, then yeah, I mean the actually you try to go inside and get some points. But you know, they're just gonna keep They're gonna not change the way they So Frank, if they did play USC again, who you think is gonna win, Well, they probably will be playing them right the way the records are looking, so USC plays Washington,

but USC is the nine seed, Washington the eight seed. Actually yeah, but I mean in the second game right that way, Yeah, in any way, I think Arizona will win. But what I'm worried about is you know the n c A A. You know, like I don't want to see the Princeton again. I mean I don't want to see the you know, the Tennessee State. I don't want to see all those you know, uh, you're going to Frank, you're gonna see one of those.

Get the senatives ready. They're gonna be a two seed Frank regards pretty much regardless of what happens in the because the conference tournaments are kind of like, they're not thrown out. But unless you do something absolutely stupid, you are where you are, and there solidly as in the in the middle of the two seeds, they're gonna be a two seed. They're gonna they're gonna play a fifteen seed, and it's gonna be a Princeton like team, a team that can beat you. Yeah, yeah, well, uh, I don't

I don't mind them being the two seeds or even the three seed. I mean, but between the first, the one seed, and the two seeds, is there really uh uh other than the hype, you know, which I'm not sure we want. Is there a reason to be a number one over number two? Is there a do you get better better opponents in the second and third and round and so forth, Well, you get lesser opponents, or what's perceived to be lesser opponents. But in this case, those

lesser opponents want to kick your butt, kick your button anyway. So it's it's all equal when at the end of the day, you still have to be the best team. Yeah, and you have to be the team that's good enough to be in the tournament, and you have to and you just have to well yeah, I agree, but I mean you and I have

seen too many, so many good teams, great teams go down. Well, well, here's one more thing, Frank, is that pretty much across the board you talk to anybody, even Corey Williams said it a little bit ago on the show, the top eight or ten teams are all interchangeable. So if you're a two seed, you're in that top eight or ten teams. So it's kind of like, you know, you're gonna if you get to that point they played one of those teams in the Elite eight, you're

just gonna have to beat a really good team. And it's just the way it is, so, Frank, if you want to be the best team in the country, just what you have to do win a lot of games. And if you're the best country, the best team in the country, you should have to worry about winning a lot of games pretty much. Okay, you know all right, So okay, so I should put ten bucks in for the for the uh, for the you know, for the Wildcats in the final four, right, you'll get for you Yeah, you'll get

about thirty bucks back. It's only yeah, well that's big time. Okay, I thank you, Okay, Frank, thank you. Do we do not encourage gambling on the show. They're like, they're like sixteen hundred to win it all. Now they've gone. They got up to sixteen. So if you if you didn't want to, if you want to get him at eighteen when they started season, yeah, get him at sixteen and sixteen now that's as good as its going to get. Yeah, Houston, you got

him at twelfth. Yeah, see, your money is better now. But do you feel more comfortable now than the earlier were the same? Like Jay, I feel about the same. If anything, it's a little more nervous because of what we were talking about earlier, where they just don't seem to care about making the right plays every time too. All right, Scott, take this one last call? Last call it how you're on the air and on the ball. Hey you guys, I just wanted to say that this

late season lost the UFC is a alarm. It's Sydney red flags up. Tommy needs a cry so it's right now, real or manufactured. He's got to come up with something to galvanize this team around. It's March. People in the hard Man there dreaming about the tournament. They're hungry, they practice all winter, they're dreaming of this. We need a christ if we need something to wake this team up and get him going. Okay, you appreciate it. Well, they got one. They certainly have it, all right,

Thanks Bud, Thank you. I think that was Richard. That's richer. Yeah, I believe. All right. We're at the end of We're at the end of it, Steve, this is it for the week.
