Steve Ravera and Jaken Salez. They have their eye on the ball on two psalms Sports six ya, Fox Sports fourteen fifty streaming live. I mean I heard radio arm Hey, welcome back to On on the Ball, you know, Fox Sports fourteen fiftie. I'm Steve, he's Jake. Now we have our boy Devin with break news. Thiss I on the Balls on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. All right, let's start with some Arizona women's basketball news.

Kaylin Gilbert has a fifty withdrawn from the transfer portal and will return to Arizona. That's good. I guess that's good news for Uda Barnes, assuming that Kyln Gilbert really wants to be here, right, I mean she jumped in. If she jumped in the portal, why does she jump in? And does she want to be here or doesn't she? So that's kind of the question. Is she good? Yeah? I think I thought she's gonna be

the starting point guard. You can score the ball? Yeah, so um, yeah, she You know, I thought it was I thought it's a big loss for now. I don't know if the you know, one of the freshman recruits that that Ada has coming in it is going to be better than her, But you never know, right, I mean, no a sudden they make, they make the leap, are they good or are they not? And so you know, I think she was at least if the if the new recruit doesn't work out, I think she's a good option because

she looked really good. She had some flashes of being really good, and like everybody else, you know, if she didn't play a lot, she had some flashes where she didn't look great. So I don't know, all right. Continuing with some Arizona news, Arizona baseball went one and two on the road series against Washington State over the weekend, and we'll look to a home game against a issue Wednesday night. Yeah, the home game is not

a conference game. That's they're they're both you know, look, both softball and baseball are struggling, and I think both of them have the same issue pitching, right, So I don't know, I don't know. It doesn't look it doesn't look very promising, and it's something you just don't fix overnight. Right, you are who you are. They have good pitching where you don't. Well, on that note, Arizona softball got swept this weekend by number two UCLA in their three game series and will be on the road for

their next one against GCU on Wednesday. All right, again, man, Um, I don't know if they've got enough season left two fix any of this. Yeah, but didn't we say that last year when they couldn't win AL twelve series. Well but see, but that was all at the beginning of the season. We're far enough down the season where you've got to start seeing things happen. And that's that's what I'm saying. It doesn't seem like

that's what we're seeing. Here's some better news. Arizona Tennis finished second in the Thunderbird Collegiate Tournament behind a SU and their next match will be at the PAC twelve Championships that start on April twenty eight. So have have you? What was I saying? Went the tennis courts like a tennis courton. I've never been So let me just say this. I was told over the weekend, Um, the facility is not up to snuff for PAC twelve. Right,

you have this team that kills it on PAC twelve. Imagine if it like the Dick tol Me thing. If I had better facilities, we'd have a better team when don't you just better play better? Blah blah blah. That that probably needs to get ramped up. Given the coach's name was who's done a fantastic job. Fantastic job. Um, And these finding players that come here, they are, they're coming, So I yeah, I mean how important is that to those players? I don't know. Yeah, I

don't know if there's any way of knowing. All right, let's get to some collegiate tennis news. Texas A and M golfer Sam Bennett has signed an NIL deal with Team Mobile after his breakout performance at the Master's where he became the first amateur since two thousand and five to finish in the top twenty. Who was the last? Who's the previous one? The previous That's my That's

kind of where I wanted. So this. The guy in two thousand and five had a breakout year and his name wasn't Tiger Woods or Steinha wasn't wasn't somebody that is recognizable? Now, yeah, I don't know who it was. Honestly, you better save that money too, well, sure it, Steven. That's a part of it, you know, the these athletes who are taking nal money because they got to take it because they might they might

not make that at the next level of whatever their sports. Yeah, I get it right, No, you strike from the iron's hop, Yes, exactly. All right, Let's get to a really cool MLB story. The Dodgers have signed Andrew Tolls to a contract, even though he won't play for the team. Tolls was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and a few months ago the Daughters resigned the outfielder in order to give him access to the

team's health insurance and mental health services. Is a young dude. He's been around for a while. I don't know, but you know, that's such a cool thing because they don't have to do that. And you know, okay, Andrew, go, you know, go take care of yourself. He's thirty, he's thirty, you know. I mean, that's a long life to have to live with something that difficult. Right, So, you know, good on the Dodgers for doing something like that. All right.

Staying in the MLB, The Minnesota Twins Pablo Lopez as final I stay four year deal worth seventy three and a half million dollars. According to report, I haven't even heard of the guy. I have not either seventy three million dollars. Come on, man, hey, come on man. All right, all right, let's move over to the association with the Phoenix Suns losing their home court advantage in the opening playoff game against the Clippers at home,

where they lost one hundred fifteen to one hundred ten. That's amazing because they were down most of the game until they kind of cup and then they lost it ump and many many What were they second favorite? First favorite? Where were you before? Third favorite? After the after the Bucks in Celtics to it at all? Yeah? So now now who know, I don't haven't even checked YDS. That would be huge if they don't make it. Well,

and it's only the most first game. But still, I mean, they're not you know, they're people were picking them, but it's like they're picking them just because of Kevin Durant. Yeah, and how good are they? Yeah? Right? And what did we say? We had holler on last weekend and we were saying if this and if that. I'm thinking, there you go, if this, if that, and that is they've already

lost one. They were they were only eight and l with Durant on the floor, So they haven't had any time to jail, any time to create any en court chemistry. I mean, so now they're technically eight and one and they're playing. They're gonna be playing against good teams the rest of the way. And did you see did you see the game didn't sing? It was fantastic with rest Book who went three from nineteen was kind of west brookish

on the offensive, but he was fantastic defensively. Well, they I heard a stat that in the last fifty years, only six times has a winning team in a playoff game had even one player that shot three for nineteen or worse and won the game. And that's one of them, and actually two of the six it's been Russell Westbrook who had the horrible night. Yeah, I mean, that's a crazy stat. That's a crazy stat, all right.

Milwaukee Buck Starr Jannis Onto the Kumpo was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday Night's game and one hundred thirty to one hundred seventeen game when lost to the Miami Heat with a lower back intusion. Mike Budenhauser said after the first round match match up that out to the Kumpo's X rays were clear. It's all based on a pain tolerance. Man, you can't live a guy like that. Can you not be one of the favorites to win it. I don't even think they can be Miami. I think Miami's too too deep and

too well coached. It's a series without Yannis. I watched portions I picked. I told you I picked Denver about ten years ago, only because no one's talking about him and they have a chip on the shoulder that played well yesterday. That's the exact thing pick as the Bills. The Denver Nuggets are the are the Buffalo Bills of the NBA. I've done that too, and I've done that too. I don't you're looking shack your head. I'd be like, what did I do? You said, I spent my money?

Not right? Not right? Well, we'll see, I will see. I I liked the way they play yesterday, but um, if the like if the if the Suns don't get there if I hate that word, uh it kind of clear some paths, kind of clear some paths. They were the best team in the league, yeah, on the West at least, but least see what they do after after they're not consistent. I get it. I get the other Buffalo Bill No move on. All right, Well, don't make me up. That's how I sound. I sound like that

debbut Downer. Oh yeah, all the time, all the time. All right. Memphis Grizzly superstar John Morant ran off the court holding his right hand midway through the fourth quarter of Sunday's Game one against the Los Angeles Lakers. The X rays word negative, but Morant described his status for Wednesday's game too, as in Jeopardy, saying that he's in a good bit of paint after the Lakers stole Game one. Yeah, the Lake. Who's the Lakers? Who? What's the next round for the Lakers? If they win that one?

Who they player? Sons? Oh, that's gonna be fantastic. They will be fantastic. The Westbrook against them or Suns or whatever. Man, this is a college basketball over again. You'll have the the Atlanta Hawks played against some some some team in the West. I don't know who it is, but it's gonna be fantastic. All right. Here we have another injury update. The Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro broke his hand while diving for a loose ball during the second quarter of Sunday's game win over those are major.

Yeah, development broke his hand, broke his hand. He it was a loose ball. He made a diving plane something, so he's probably he's probably the year. So that kind of goes to show you, how can I see this when they soft soft shoot the right term, but soft shoot bollows

injury. Yeah, he's on his hands busted. He could play, he could play, but but he's effective, Yeah, of course, And how can you not be effective because that's that's crucial, especially for a guy who needs to catch the ball and not be like again Stokes, right, exactly, Sorry to say that, but but even you know you're you're inside you know, normally you're just you know, you you're you're pushing a guy whatever,

and you're you're having to be careful with your hand. I mean there was remember there was a time he fell down and he was like holding his hand up in the air, you know, to keep it from getting stepped on or hit again or whatever. All Right, There were some more things released from the new CBA CBA Deal. Two of the items are one the sixty five game minimum to be eligible for honors such as MVP All NBA and

Defensive Player of the Year. But players must play twenty minutes in at least sixty five games, but there's protections against season ending injuries that will allow them to only play sixty two games or near misses in minutes like two games at fifteen minutes and then they also included. The twenty twenty three twenty four NBA in season tournament schedule is expected to include quarters, semifinals, and finals in

early December. Price money includes five hundred thousand dollars per player on winning team, two hundred thousand dollars per player on running runner up team, one hundred thousand dollars per player on a similar on a semifinal loser, and fifty thousand dollars for the quarter loser. Are you interested in that in the in season tournament? Is not at all? Why then why put another money ground?

Probably? Right, is the see five hundred thousand dollars. I just don't know that some of these top level NBA players at the sense of getting hurt having I'm saying the money grew up for the Y has always been in favor of four tournaments, but I just it's not like millions and billions isn't enough, right exactly? All right? Yeah, That's that's it for me. Today. Sugar Skulls one again on the all on the road Sunday, Right, yeah, okay, yesterday beat the Bay Area Panthers. Uh. I

watched the game. You know, I gotta call the game this week, so I actually spent some time on some Sugar Skulls stuff. Um. But you know, they were with a minute left in the half, it was a loss. They were down sixteen to nothing, showed no signs of getting any offense, and they went down. They got a quick score, got the ball to started the second half, got another score, and they scored twenty one straight points, took a lead and won the game. And I

didn't think they I didnt think they hit any business winning the game. It's funny. In that first half, they looked tired, They looked tired of the road, They looked, you know, tired of They just didn't have any zip to them. And then all of a sudden, you know, they get they get the ball back, they get the ball, they got

to stop, get the ball with the minute left and a half. And really in the second half, you know, they had a pick and another stop, and they should have they should have beat him by more than they did. But they beat them and they're three and oh three games on the road, so you know they've only got five road games left. That's you know, they're they're really good shape. So that would mode well for attendance this weekend. You wouldn't think you would think that, you know, it's

a home opener. They're gonna do a red out, which I'm just gonna say again was my idea all the way back to to the twenty twenty season they got canceled. We were gonna start with the red out. Um, they're gonna give away a thousand free adult red jerseys at the game, so you can go get your red jersey and uh, you know where until you have a game if you want to. Um and uh, and I would think that you know, you win some games, Um, you know,

people will pay attention to you. Somebody's finally starting to listen to Jay. Yeah, I'm glad it's somebody from the Sugar Schools and nobody here exactly. Um, we will have Pat Paris will be on on on the show Wednesday, my my broadcast partner on the on the Sugar Skulls uh a YouTube broadcast and we'll talk some Sugar Skulls when he comes in or when he comes on the show on Wednesday. But okay, big deal, hurt us chin Man three and I was a head coach at Aris. No, you need to

convince, convince. The Sugar Schools will give us a couple of free tickets so we could know. So buy a ticket and go to the van. Oh we can do that. Yeah, you're not for us. Oh yeah, you get a media passing no no, no to call us and call us and get them to go. All right, we can do that.

All right, let's take a break. We're gonna come back. We'll go through the spring postgame press conference with jet Fish, talk about some of the stuff that he talked about after the game, and then we'll take your calls in the last segment five Tuesday or four ward six seventy four four correct.

Brought to you by the Southern Arizona Business Coalition Stray Live, I mean my heart Radio Wire. This is I on the ball with Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzalez on Fox Sports fourteen bit Days. Hey, welcome back to our Vall Hill, Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. I'm Steve. Remember he's James Austin. Now we're gonna hear some fishtails. Oh that's right, fishtails. I say, what are we gonna do?

Now? I'm glad you reminded me. It's funny, it's funny. What did you talk to me this weekend? What did you say to me? Oh? What am I read? Oh? Oh? Oh it was last week. It was like, what was I supposed to? Uh? What was I supposed to? What was my homeworks? You said you need to read this article for the show tomorrow, and I said, okay, I will, And then I got to it. I'm like I couldn't remember

what what am I going to do? Exactly? All right? Okay, Well let's let's just first uh again as we as I said a minute, it seemed to me, Steve that Jed was very giddy about his spring um for a lot of good reasons. You want, nobody got hurt, first of all, but secondly, just he feels like he's got some guys. So let's just first just run into his introduct his introductory remarks on at the press conference. Uh, right after the spring games. But it seemed like

a good day. It seemed like no turnovers, two fumbles, no interceptions. I guess so two turnovers, two takeaways for the defense, a lot of water, a lot of celebrating, a lot of fun. As I told the team, today, one hundred and forty one days since we won the Territorial Cup, one hundred forty days until we play on AU. So

today was exactly halftime of the offseason training. And our goal was for today to be trying to take these next forty eight to seventy two hours to have some great celebration, have a lot of good times together as a football team. Expecting our guys to do a lot together over these next seventy two hours, and then Tuesday we'll start lifting, and then then we go and then at that point in time, it's about getting bigger, stronger, faster.

The football kind of takes a little bit of a back seat, and then we see how big and strong we can get. But right now, I'm excited about how we walked out of spring healthy. I can't imagine really any anybody that will not be able to participate the first day of training camp if nothing changes from right now. So excited about that, Excited about the fan attendance today. That was really cool. UM. Great to have guys like

Rob and Chris and Chris and Antoine back. Two hundred and forty alumni checked in last night. So all in all, great day, great day to be a Wildcat UM and looking forward to making Tucson the football talent it should be. And I think we're getting closer to that. But you know, I think we can get a lot better there. I think we can start packing the house every week, and I think we can make this place, UM known for football. Well, he's just gonna win. That'll help.

That helps, UM. One of the things I was gonna say, so Jet, we see Jet every now and again. Right, he's only doing some great things outside of losing any of you. He hasn't had a misstep, you know what I'm saying. He's he's doing all the real things, and he's very visible and he's optimistic and he says all the right things. I know. But he really crashed the car that night. Oh it was

horrible. You know, it was horrible that he crashed the car, and that there's there's a lot of people out there that that is gonna stick until you kick the crap out of them next time. Play right better? Right? But um, yes, that you're right. I mean he's you know, they had you know, the one win that year, but everybody saw

that they just didn't have the guys. So, um, you know, and I think Greg Hanson made a good point in his in his column yesterday in his notes column that you know, hit the three quarterbacks that he ran out there, you know in his first year, none of them, you know, are here anymore. Where Where's where's the the guy that got hurt? Um? Uh? Jordan McCleod, he's at James Madison and any Gunner Cruise is a grad assistant. And I don't think anybody knows where. We

don't know where Will Plumber was. He's just uh no, Yeah, those are not good college players, but not just you know what, and we appreciate what they did, right. They came here to a program that was in the dumper. Um and yes, they you know, they wanted an opportunity to play and they saw an opportunity to play. But you have to

appreciate what they did. Um. So uh Jed. You know, Jed was asked what was the most impressive thing about the spring and what you know what he him, YEA, of the fifteen of all of all the things that you saw, you know what impressed you the most. Here's what he had to say about that, Jaden Delora's maturity probably, uh, it's probably

the most impressive part of the whole thing. And then I would say the second thing would probably be, Um, I feel the offense picked up where they left off, and I feel like the defense made one of the bigger jumps that I've ever seen, um that I've sat through. But um, overall, you know, probably that probably Jayden, I mean just he just I mean that was it. It's like our quarterback is a lot better.

Yeah, And look, we know how important that is. You know, as much as people wanted to downplayed, oh you gotta play defense, you gotta do this, you gotta do that. If you don't have a good quarterback, as we just said, right, you're not gonna you're not gonna be very good. Right, And it's as simple as that. Um, you know, I get you know. Jane Laura was at the at the press conference. Dude, looks he looks like he's putting on some meat. Yeah. Yeah, when you were there when we talked to him at the

beginning of the of the spring practice, right we sat down. Yeah, he said he had picked up some palles for durability, you know, things like that. Yeah, No, he looks he looks good. Uh. I thought it was interesting that he said that, you know, when he got here, that it didn't seem like as welcoming or something like you knows it as they've as they've made it since they got That's a good observation because I just thought the same thing. But sometimes it's like that thing to you.

Last week, you know, I met the I'm with the love of my life when he's just married with five kids from somebody else. I think sometimes you just say it, right, just say it to say it, and it doesn't mean anything. But I caught on that too. Yeah, who's to say that he's right or wrong. The other guys might say, what's he talking about? He was welcome a lot we don't know. We

don't know, but he did say that. But and and and he's kind of like saying, you know, we're creating this atmosphere here that it is much better than when it than it was when I got here, right right? Who knows, No, you caught that too. I said the same

thing. It's that's kind of sae like maybe last year they didn't well you know what I'm saying, Yeah, kind of going down to Pathew really don't want to go down and you know they I mean, they kept talking about how they loved each other and they're all together and they go do things and they hang with each other and all that kind of stuff. And if all that is happening, then you know that it's it's a good thing for the

program. Well you remember last year and maybe you kid Devin would talk about this up, didn't he and count Ash who got in the fight the side? Uh? Dorrian? Him and Dorian Singer Doran Singer. Okay, yeah, okay, that doesn't happen. They're competitors, we all know that, right. You know. Hell, you and I are get in the fight every now and again because but we're we're in colleagues and we're competitive. But they're they're competitors who are on the same team. Right, So who knows

what happened and and all that stuff, But it happens. It happens. And but it's like you just get you're trying to get a sense that they're really trying to make this program theirs. Yeah, right, and maybe nobody knew what it was before that, right, kind of weird? All right, Um, obviously the defense is that is what has to change. Uh, you know, they had a very good offense last year, but you know, defensively they struggled. And uh, you know, I we ran

out of time. I wanted to ask him, you know, and he sort of said this about that. You know, I just want to ask him specifically, another year with the same defensive coordinator, how big of a difference has that. He kind of danced around that a little bit because he wasn't asked that question directly. But here's what he had to say about it. And this is this is a response to two separate questions. So it'll kind of break in the middle and you'll see you'll hear an answer to another

question. Good. I love how the energy they play with. I love the passion that they show every time they walk out there. They took the ball away a lot, they were aggressive. We're continuing to work. I'm becoming a better zone football team. Understanding what goes into that being a better run stopping football team, understanding everything that goes into that. But we've got one hundred and forty days to figure that out to how good we can get,

and I expect this to get better every one of those days. And if we do that, then I think we can be a really good defense effort running to the ball. I've never seen a defense go out there and make such a jump in terms of eleven guys chasing after the ball on every play. That's a huge, huge difference. I think we've made a lot. We got after the passer. Justin Flow and company brought a ton of passion and energy to the practice field that is contagious and that will help us

get to where we want to go. You know, the big question about Justin Flow is because there's no doubt he's a really good player, and he was a good player at Oregon. He just didn't play enough because of injuries and stuff like that. That's gonna be the key. Can he stay on the field, Sure, sure, because he sure looks the part. And if that body gets hurt, you wonder what the hell happened that? Because well, I thought I could throw a rock at him and it would just

break into pieces. He didn't play very much at Oregon. Right tells you how good you have to be, right, But it mostly injured because he was injured a lot, you know, and so you know what what happened that that guy who looks like just such a physical specimen is getting hurt. I mean what, you know what what's getting hurt? So we'll see if they can keep him on the field. And I've watched him a lot. He's fast, he's physical as as as jets, he runs to the ball.

I just kind of zeroed in on him for a lot of plays, uh, you know, during the during the scrimmage on Saturday, because I have I can you have this vision? I went to the Tennessee, Florida State national championship here we talked about nineteen ninety eight, and I had a

seat um kind of down low because I was on fastball. Community had a seat kind of down low on the Tennessee side sideline on their side, and there was a player and I can't remember his name anymore, but he you know, during warm ups, he was kind of like just jogging on the field and he's kind of toward us, and I'm like that's a guy that Arizona never has and doesn't get and justin justin flow looks like that guy. You know that Arizona's got a guy that we just you've never seen them get.

He's got he's got a Lewis Holmes body, but seems to have be you know, a player. Right. So you just see if you all remember the reference to Lewis home, Yeah, I do. One of the biggest disappointments. Um, let's go to the US. He was asked, you know, how how big it deal is the spring game? How big a deal is it to the players, to the coaches, how meaningful is it? Uh, here's what he had to say. Make sure that they understand, like, there's a lot of things that go on during a game.

There's a lot of there's ebbs and flows of the game, and games are hard, practices are really hard. The spring game doesn't need to be really hard. This spring game needs to be good football, clean football, good plays. Uh. We're not looking to trick anybody. We're not looking to win the spring game. Last time I check, we do not play Arizona. So our goal was really to go out there and be healthy, execute good football, try not to get penalized a lot and bring a lot

of smile to the two side communities faces and to our kids faces. Um, they deserve it. They the two guys will hear from, have worked very, very hard, you know, and they've been asked to do a lot. Um. I can speak on the offensive side, specifically, Jaden gets asked to do a lot. He gets asked to do a lot of

things outside of the framework of practice and meetings. And when you require so much of a leader and of a captain and of a of your starting quarterback, you want to see their smile when it comes to something like this. It's funny when I posted it. I was at the spring game on Facebook on Saturday, and eventually after sometime someone said, who won the game? I'm thinking, who won the game? Where the scrimmage game? For God's sake? Who cares? Yeah? You know, and you know, I

actually finally heard a a coach actually say it. Right. They're looking for balance. They want the defense look good, some they want the offense look good. Some if one looks way better than the other, then they think they've got a problem. I know coaches have kind of said that in different ways, but I think it was I think it was Lincoln Riley who said,

we want to see balance in our spring game. Uh, and so they want to see both sides make some plays and if they see that, then they feel like they're they're on the right track, and that's kind of what you're looking for, you know. Um, you know, they both had they both had some big plays. There was a couple of turnovers, but you know the defense got beat on on on a long pass by a

fourth string quarterback. Um. You know you don't want you don't want one side to dominate the other because then you think, man, our offense is gonna suck, our defense is gonna suck, right right, all right? Um U. That's the funny question. How much of a concern is ball security? Because there were a couple of fumbles on a couple of the early plays. A jed was like, Okay, how important is it. Here's

what we had to say about ball security. Ball security is always a concern for me, justin I wake up sleeping thinking about ball security and making sure that we uh don't fumble the football and don't throw interceptions. Uh those are killers. So yes, and we will do a good job of emphasizing that if we haven't already, and UM, I think you get what you emphasize. We cut them down from we were negative eighteen year one, we were negative six year two. We need to be in the positive this year.

And if we can get in the positive, uh, you're gonna win a lot more games. I mean, very simple, you know. But you know again they're trending up on that, and so if they do that, to keep doing that, right, you think that that will help? Well, he says all the right things. He said, we're in the middle of the project or whatever it is, the middle of the Yeah. Well yeah, And then he was asked, Okay, now what what now? Basically, what what happens from here? What do you hope to see happen

from here as you head towards fall camp? You know, an extreme focus on details. Really see how good the leadership can take this program. Um, these UH player run practices this summer are going to be critical to their success. Um, we're gonna make sure that we stay on top of every aspect of their uh their growth over these next you know, one hundred and forty days and UM, what we're gonna see is can we have a better training camp than we had in the last two years. Can we focus in

on all the right things. Can we get better run defense? Can we get um, you know, do a better job and pass protection. Can we do a better job of finding the right runs against the right fronts. Can we do a better job in the kicking game? Make special teams a priority? How many young guys can help impact our kicking game? And all of those things are stuff that we're digging deep trying to figure out. And our goal is really to come out of this thing on September third a different

football team than we than we were today. Okay, it's but it's right. Summer's gonna be crucial. How they discipline themselves, get ready for the year, new players coming in from you know, the recruiting area of Hey, like you said earlier when I asked you about what I wrote, because

you'd say this, even I'm optimistic. Yeah, well, um, and you know, I mean, we've talked to a few people, you know great, you know, we talked to Greg Hanson, we talked to the guy you know, the other media guys, and they just it just looks like they've got some players, you know, more players than they had last year. They've got some guys, you know, they there's maybe some continuity on defense, and uh, you know, and then you've got a quarterback

who should be a year better. I mean there were times last year Jane Delord didn't look good. You know, if you feel if he gets more consistency, then maybe they're better. You know, they're gonna win some games there, kid, hopefully at least a ball game. Six games, right, six games games? And Jake her boy, Jake, he called it. He called it because he win seven. He called a with Kanye ball game. Okay, Jake charge and you double all right? Uh, that's

it. That's it for the post game press conference. Will take your calls. Five two zero four one six, seventy four forty. You can talk about the spring game, can talk about the Suns. You're on Fox Sports fourteen. I'm Steve. He's Jay Gunner Boyd Devon and then we have a call. Hey, Gabriel, how are you? You're

on the air. I hope you are. Guys are doing good. Um um, I have two topers I wanted to discuss so for the screen game and um polish football realignment. So so on Saturday, it was my first time going to a first Arizona broadcast spring game, and I just want to give you my thoughts about it, okay, and so so so clearly Jetfish really cares about this program, unlike Kevin Salman who didn't, who didn't really give a sugar, honey and icy about the program. But we also to

shut you down. Do we agree with you there? On? Now? He and he what was the total amount of alumni two eighty alumni and ye two forty alumni. So clearly he cares about the alumni. He hears about the traditional you've never seen Arizona and also, h only Arizona does this spring game, and only about And what I'm trying to say is a lot of the other teams in the PACTROL don't have what Arizona has, that being the approach, the alumni care what's going on, and and and it just feels

like a huge family of a family community. They certainly are trying to create that for sure. You hear that a lot, absolutely so, Gabriel. So, Gabriel, you were there, You were there among the twenty three thousand people. Did you see twenty three thousand people? Why do you have to be a dumpy boy like that? Um I I saw I saw a round eighteen thousand. Okay, okay, all right, okay, we'll give you that, all right, And what's your topic on on realignment and expansion?

So I don't think you we heard any more information about the Colorado media Colorado border regions today, but I kind of think something is gonna drop pretty soon in the next few weeks. And then hopefully Dave he King at President Robbins has has their cards, has their cards really close to their bodies, and then look and looking what Colorado does. If Colorado jumps, then Arizona should jump too. But just gotta be patient, just be what Colorado does.

So, Gabriel, let me ask you how old are you if you don't mind me asking? Twenty six? So it's you're a young man when all this started? Are you? Are you ashi man? Are you kind of waiting for something to happen too, or do you kind of can't wait for it to happen? Um, I am relatively patient, But like I said, I just let me give you my honest opinion. I don't see this past always is going to survive. Wow. Okay, and and here's

this, here's a nating. What would be super funny for Arizona and Colorado would go to the Big twelve and have have the um the morons of North and Utah and Oregon and Washington would play be playing in the mouth and west to point. Oh. I just really fine, it's not going to happen to be really funny. Gabriel, you come up with some funny stuff, Gabriel, thank you for calling. Hey, Gabriel, thanks so much that we appreciate the call. Then you guys, thank you, thank you.

Gabriel comes with our great takes. Last week, last time you call, he it was pretty feisty. I'll tell you why, Yeah, I'll tell you why. Man. He's look, he cares, yeah, you know, And I mean he cares, and he cares about what's happening here. And I love that. I love that so many people. I don't think I've got anyone off the ledge. Thank God, finally that you're gonna wait and see because you have no choice choice exactly. I mean, as much

as I want this to happen, it's like it's not good. They're not gonna do it on my time, right, They're gonna do it on their time, right. Right. You were when your dad was alive, you hope to get to the Rose Bowl. Now you're alive, we're just hope figure out. God, dang it, I'm running out of time. Rap, rap, We'll see, we'll see what it happens. So it is what it is. It's like everybody wants to know now, like the recruits

that are coming in for wherever. What's Tommy Lowd He hasn't done anything yet. The world's gonna end. Okay, it'll happen. It'll happen, don't worry about it. Yeah, I want to know. You know, boy, wouldn't it be something? I mean, I can't imagine. I can't imagine a scenario where Arizona would go somewhere in a su didn't. But if the Big twelve just wants Colorado and Arizona, you know, can that can that possibly have Colorado? Can Colorado? Can go by itself all at once.

They're Yeah, they're not tied to anybody. I just don't know that that. I just don't know that the border regions will allow no Arizona to go anywhere without a su no, and vice versa. I agree. I agree, because if those two schools, if those two schools lead Colorado and Arizona, Yeah, the PAC twelve, the conference is done. They can't. Nobody else can leave. That's an unlikely situation, I think it is.

But nobody else can leave. The pack of the remaining ten teams, nobody else can leave, and the pact help Pack ten be a bold no. No, I don't know. I just have a really really hard time seeing that happen. Yeah, you know, then the Mountain West gets you know, ten teams bigger, or eight teams bigger or whatever. What there does is they get better. The Mountain West gets better. But the Pack twelve does it. The Pack ten doesn't. Yeah, so I don't know. Yeah, we'll see what. I don't know. Man, I used

to be a young man when all this started. Had black hair. I have gray hair. Oh God, like that girl on the Lady on the Titanic. It was eighty four years ago, and you got five minutes. Do you want to call? Give us five? Two zero, four one, six seventy four forty um, the Suns to night? What you guys think? No Suns tomorrow. The Lakers are tonight, but no the Warriors or the Warriors are tonight. The warris tonight. The Warriors will win. You need the Warrior. I'll bet you, I'll I'll buy you a burger

or something. If they don't the win straight and go after buy you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, you have to buy me something. I got to buy something. Well against the Warrior. That was a great game. The first game on the road, first game it was Sacramentos crazy. They had it and they didn't have it and then they lost. And these are five game series, right yeah, these first seven seven all seven game series. Yeah, okay, it's gonna be it's gonna be a nice

say here we go last the last minute call. All right, Hi, you're on the R and I in the ball Man, what's up? N man? Are you upset about the face mask? Man? Oh, we know, because we haven't seen hekey. Yeah, because somebody asks Loot about it because growing up in that area. Ye, did it kind of looks familiar to you? Said, yeah, it kinda. Did You have to see the movie?

Yeah, it's a great movie. What's the what's the It's it's about, Well, it's about a a staged, staged kidnapping that this guy has. He gets it, he stages he gets his wife kidnapped to be able to he needs the money to be able to collect the money, and it's all the stuff that happens as a result of that.
