Breaking down at all. It's Steve Rivera and Jakin Subbs. This is I Am the Ball on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. Hey, welcome back to one on the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty I'm Steve Rivera, he's Jakin's as. Now we have our guys sit with breaking news, breaking news on Fox Sports fourteen fifty eight. You almost got it, all right, So here we go, starting off with, uh, south Point travels to California. Tonight they were in Mission Hills. So wow, Tucson for traveling to

Cali. So we'll see how that goes through that. Yeah, we had that right, that's right there. And then he was gonna go see his kid play. Yeah, uh, who's you? Who's your cla open with I don't remember, I don't remember. They're not on coastal Carolina coastline. An interesting matchup right there. Yeah yeah, so all right, yeah,

but yeah, no, that's it's it's amazing to me, Steve. I mean it used to be like you you'd go see you'd go play one Phoenix team you know, a year and that was a big deal, right and and now they're you know, they're going to California. You see some of these national games. You're somebody from Florida playing somebody from California. They're on ESPN. It's crazy, crazy, crazy stuff. We still got to get out there and see see point. It's that point. Last week you guys

went right, we didn't stay. It was an hour and a half. It's lightning delay actually, but so we kind of just said, you know, sleep is more important as we were leaving this. Yeah, we had our tackles and went home. Yeah. Moving into some Arizona soccer news. They ended up eating Kent State last night five zero, and Nicole Dollon has scored in every match, so all right, some encouraging signs, and then

they got another one. Is it tomorrow or Sunday Sunday? Right, I think it's Sunday Sunday they've got I don't remember, but it's it's an ASU, it's an ACU thing. Four teams playing up all right, yep. Arizona volleyball as well. They're going on tonight they play Iowa State at the GCU Invitational. They have a one or two record now, so trying to get back in the wind. Call. Yeah, they didn't do so good at their tournament. This is gonna probably be a nice long transition. It

could be coaches. Yeah, you know, and I mean and true to stuff has been there for a long time, so that's not like, yeah, that's programming. That's so. And then remember when we had her on because she had she had a tough go at North Carolina State I think it was, and then we asked her she said, no, I had a tough time, and I feel I'm a different coach. So we'll see how that goes. But you know, those things, you know, can take some time, So we'll see how that goes. Five former Wildcats made NFL

rosters. Demitrius found again fouls. It was with the forty nine ers, JJ Taylor with the Patriots, Gary Brightwells with the Giants, twenty Fields is with the Browns, and Nick Folks sticks around for another one with the fault man. That guy's like over the dirt. I mean, you know, leather helmet found of guy. I'll let him know once I try to get him on the show. It. I mean, he played dude, he

played for Stoops. He played but three coaches a go. But if you're four coaches a go, if you're a kicker, you can do it. Until Yeah, and he's good. He's still good and it's consistent. I was just something that I just saw again, just a video clip that I saw, the of the game winner he hit against by U. Here was two thousand and three ish, Yeah, I mean it was. It was It was when Stoops was here, so it would have been after that,

you know, I think it was. Remember I think it was the year they went to the Vegas Bowl. No, it wouldn't been because they had they don't think they played by U twice that year. But wait, if we're talking, we are talking in the mid two thousand, you know, between twenty two twenty ten, so a while, a while ago. Staying with Arizona football. As of right now, they have sold more than forty six thousand tickets for tomorrow. Forty six thousands. That's a new number.

Ye okay, I think you had said just about fifteen maybe, And it could be because if walk up, the weather's gonna be okay, the weather's great, and actually it's supposed to be really nice. I'm not really nice, but it's not going to be one hundred and five like in you know, put it this way, it's gonna be way cooler than it was at San Diego State last. If it's like today where it's a little overcast and kind of nice, maybe sit out there, get a little breeze, get

some nachos in your gut. What you starting about three thirty? About three thirty, you know, we hope to you know, it's a we're gearing up, man, got a lot of got got a good number of people coming to our ten. You must have some young guys to help you. We do. We lined up what we call sherpa's. You know you know what sherpa? Yes, well you'll get to tell me. Yes. The sherpas are the are the guides or the guys that carry all the stuff up

Mount Everest for the people who want to hike Mount Everest. Okay, so all these people say I made it up Mount Everest, Well, your your sherp has done it like forty times and they have all your stuff when they get all your stuff? So wait, when when the when the kids were little, you know, when they were ten, twelve, fourteen years old and would teenagers to come and help us set up, they were known as the sherpas. They're just older. They're now, they're just older that some

of them have kids, but they're coming to help tomorrow. Which is great. With the football seasons in full swing, it supports to remember the new rules and college football that the clock will continue to run after first downs. Upset in the last two minutes and a half, right, that was a big one. A lot of time. It changes, it changes things, and and it changes the way they play. And I know, I remember J fifth said he liked it. You know, no, wh would you.

The only thing that's gonna slow it even more well slows it down is upon further review. We gotta look at the damn camera. God, there was again, there was that one in the USC game. They they they had to review two different things and literally literally took ten minutes added ten minutes to the game to go to to get that one play right, and neither review and you know changed, you know, nothing changed. Crazy, there's a there's another one about what is it? What was the other? A

couple of other rules. I can't remember what they are. Hell, oh, forget there's too many nowadiys. Yeah, yeah, okay, Moving into some Arizona baseball, the Yankees called up catcher Austin Wells. I don't know if you guys remember him when he was here a few years ago. Austin Wills yep with the Yankees. Huh yeah, right, yank for him. I guess good luck with that. You know what, if I was good enough to play and I got and even though I'm a Dodger fan, I

got into the Yankee organization, I'd be happy as they all. But he's all right, Well, good for him. That's another guy. You don't another guy added a whole bunch of him. Yeah yeah, Moving into uh, some more MLB stuff. So that MLB is currently testing facial authentication for tickets. I saw that. Yeah what yeah, yeah, it's unbelievable films too, I think, or whatever it is. Yeah, I saw that.

That's gonna be unbelievable. So that if you run on the field, they know you can't come back, or just that's what your ticket will be. That's what particularly You can just walk right through. You don't have to worry about scanning anything. Yeah, dude, big brothers looking at you. What if you put on a bunch of weight or lose a bunch of weight, you know, Yeah, I mean I lost twenty pounds in the last in the last couple of months. I don't look like I did. But

he probably have to submit a photo or something. I don't I don't know, I don't know. Wow, yeah, welcome to the world. No kidding, man, I mean I guess that that you know that that's pretty cool that you don't have to scan a ticket but just walk in there, look at here. I am. Okay, Well, they wouldn't have the same problem that they did two three years ago. Remember a time, Yeah, first year, first year. Yeah, well they stopped to scan you

and check you and blah blah blah. Yeah. Yeah. Thinking with MLB. Ronald Lacuna entered the thirty sixty club last night, the first guy to ever do ever do it? Yeah, yeah, he is so good the MVP race. Who do you think should Well it's him now, it's him now. But you know, I don't know how. I don't know how he could lose it in the last month. Yeah right, I mean, Mookie has had a great year. Uh, Freddy Freeman has had an incredible

year. But I mean again, like I said, what ron Lacuna walks up bases loaded, you know, in a in a you know, close game, and I'm like, how is he going to do anything other than hit a Grand One postseason. Yeah, and he just and he and he and he hit a bomb and and it was like, what the hell, I mean, he's that good? You just you just expect that of him. Yeah, Braves. It was upsetting. Yeah, but I will say, and look, I I don't I shouldn't say I hate the Braves.

I used to hate the Braves when they were before you were born, when they were them and the Dodgers in the We're both in the National League West, and they were going at it every year. Joe Tory was the manager

of the Braves, but not since then. And then you know, Ron Lacuna is one of those guys that you have in appreciation to see him play, right, And and look, there's not a single Yankee that I thought that of, but Ron Lacune is a guy that you watch him playing, you go, okay, that's something like watching Ken Griffey Jr. You know, you go, man, that that's just the dude. And I was upset to see what he did, but I had an appreciation for it.

Yeah. Moving into some Arizona softball, they dropped their false schedules starting October sixth, so you know, some some excitement there. I know, the the baseball softball sports is gonna have to pick it up this next season. Yeah, yeah, neither one of them. Have you come? Have you covered in you that? None of that yet. I'm hoping to get some of some games in though. Okay, cool yep. And then moving into

the Arizona basketball director of basketball operations was named Evan Manning. He was former KU player right staff, son of Danny Manning. These hires that they're making, I think they hired somebody else to like video guy or something like that. I can't remember. Yeah. Yeah, he hasn't entourage. I won't if we get a jobs game, so they don't take well they need. I can't carry stuff, you're out. I can't carry stuff. No,

I can't. I stood up to my My grandson was at her house today and I was, you know, I was sitting on the floor plane with him, and I said, I picked him up, and I stood up and my knee popped and I nearly fell that. Yeah, I could have gone down right on top of the kid, and that would have been That would have been bad. They would have trusted me with him anymore. Oh, I can't get up, follard. What else? That's it? That's it right now. I can stay tuned into that volleyball game tonight see if

they can bounce back. But all right, well again all kinds of football things. A couple of games getting just starting, actually I don't remember. And then the Stanford's got Hawaii tonight in Hawaii. I think they're actually a favorite in this game, but not by a lot, by a couple of points. Oh, I wanted to attend, and you'll get the names correct for me, Jay. So the thing that Jason Sheer brought up yesterday, in fact, the guy's got to sit out right, Uh yeah, he's

got to sit out. And they didn't catch it at usc NO, and I guess they're saying he's Christian Roland so he'll be suspended for the next game. And maybe the NC double A didn't notify or whatever. I mean, you sit there and say, I know I did this, but unless somebody comes and calls me on it, I'm gonna, you know, I'm just gonna play like I forgot. I'm sure that's what they did. So they're

not gonna have to They're not gonna have to four for the game. Sure, Christian Roland Wallace will sit and sit out the first half of next week's game, just getting started Central Michigan at Michigan State. Michigan State's a fourteen and a half point favorite. And then there's there's been some funny stuff. Miami, Ohio is playing Miami Florida, and Miami how tweeted some social media stuff saying we're the real Miami, and so they were just kind of going

back and forth, and it's pretty funny. But I think someone from Miami Arizona said, for the one dude that lives there, now everybody's got a mind, bro, you're not the real man. So Miami Florida is favored by sixteen and a half. Uh there that that games in Miami, and then Louisville goes to Georgia Tech. So that's a that's an acc game.

Louisville is a seven and a half point favorite in that. That's at four thirty our time here, and then at eight eight o'clock our time, you've got Stanford giving three at Hawaii. Then I'll get started tomorrow Man Colorado at TCU right out of the box at nine o'clock in the morning. Nine o'clock in the morning. Oh okay, yeah, particularly yeah, that's a that's an early game. Virginia and Tennessee is an early game at nine Fresno State,

Purdue, Michigan, East Carolina. What else? Uh? Looking through the schedule, So that's those are the great those are the good games that going to come on right after right after game day tomorrow. You've got up at six o'clock. Here I help not six, but earlier stuff to do. Just a reminder, you can watch you can watch us or listen to us. Where on the podcast? This is I on the Ball with Steve Ribera and Jay Gonzalez on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. Hey, welcome back to Lie on the Ball John Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Ribera, He's jakenzos Now on the phone with him, justin spears of the Arizona doing Star. How you doing? Just dapping? Guys, We're going on how much are you taking a nap? Do we wake up

from a nap a week? You wake up early in the morning to do your show. You gotta wake up so we get a big day tomorrow. You're resting up putty there. Yeah, man, I'm just chilling right now. I've been doing shows all week long. I've been doing a bunch of stories all week long. So now I'm officially in that recovery mode until game time tomorrow night. When when do you get your game face on tomorrow?

You know, when do you start like gearing up and thinking about the game and thinking about what I you know, what I got to pay attention to, what I got to write all that stuff. Oh man, I get my game face on as soon as I hear the college game day theme song on my TV at six o'clock in the morning. There you go, you go, there you go. And as soon as I hear that, man, that's that's when you know, all right, it's college football Saturday. Let's do it. But I don't think Big and Rich is doing the game

day theme song anymore, so it just it doesn't hit the same. But yeah, usually early in the morning, first thing, as soon as I wake up, when you see the full slate of games and people are talking about a college game day, that's when I usually, you know, kind of get my game day face on. There you go. So I saw I saw your your your post on social media about just how you know how much this means to you to be, you know, be the beat writer.

You know, you grew up watching Wildcats and reading the pay for that kind of stuff and now you're the guy. Just you know, before we start talking about the game, just give us a little bit of some of your thoughts about, you know, the job that you have and you know being there. Yeah, well, I remember my first game at Arizona Stadium. You know, unfortunately I missed out on the Dick Tomy era. My family and I moved to Tucson really in the late nineties, and we didn't

start going to Arizona football games until like Stoops was the coach. And I'll never forget when Willie tweet Toma made his home debut and that was my very first action watching Arizona football. And I'll never forget the kind of the buzz around, Oh, this true freshman quarterback, he's going to be starting, he's really good, this is his home debut. And UCLA they're a top ten team. They had this great running back and Maurice Drew, who's really

good in USC's the business. And I was, you know, really just just all in on kind of the hype, and the next thing, you know, Arizona goes out and Clopper's UCLA fifty two to fourteen. And from that point, I saw how much Arizona football meant to two people. I know, it's not at the same level as men's basketball, but in Arizona

football means a lot to people in Tucson. And you know, for that to be my first experience and then then being able to see a lot of great games after that, you know, I think probably you know, the next memorable game that comes to mind is Antwa Cason's pick six against Cal when Cal was loaded and they had Deshan Jackson and Marshawn Lynch and all these other

great players on their team. And to see that and see the fans rush the field, you know, Arizona football has always meant a lot to Tucson, and honestly, following it, it's always meant a lot to me. And I remember, you know, waking up and reading the stories in the Arizona Daily Star and being able to go out and cover the team and tell these stories. That's something that I've always wanted to do, and I finally get able to do it. Yeah, what years were there? How old

were you? About thirteen two when I want to go see Willie tweet Thomas debut. Yeah, I was about ten years old, so it was in the fifth grade. So so you grew up on the Star, not the Citizen, because the Citizen was probably not this paper, not around anymore. It was not like it was last year. Yeah, but that you know, that's when you're when you're a young kid. Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, And this is you're kind of doing your job that you wanted

to do. It's probably not your dream job or is it your dream job? I would totally say it's definitely a dream job of mine because I grew up in here in Tucson. I've I've always wanted to be successful what I do and still be able to live in my hometown. And so I'm at a point right now where I have a job that a lot of people would kill to have and it would be so lucky to have, and so I don't take it for granted. And so you I mean, we'll we'll see,

well really what the what the future holds somewhere down the road. But you know what, I think, you know, I'm gonna be, you know, doing this gig for a little while. I love my job. All right, So you've got your first game tomorrow. We've been talking about this for so long with all the other stuff that's been going on around around college football, but just some of your thoughts about, you know, what

you expect to see tomorrow, what you're keeping an eye out for. Yeah, I really think that this should be kind of an easy game for Arizona because I mean, there's just so there's so much bigger on both sides of the ball. You know. I was looking at the weights for the starting lines, and Arizona's offensive line is just so much bigger than any used defensive

line. And that's why I think, you know, rather than the disappointment that we saw from Arizona two years ago, I think we're going to see more of a game like the twenty nineteen season when Arizona just clobbered in at you and they ran all over them and had two one hundred yard rusher.

I think we're going to see that kind of game with you know, Jordan Morgan back at left tackle after coming back from ACL rehab, Jonah Savina at right tackle, moving over there the former pression All American and then big Raymond Polido, who flipped from Alabama to Arizona in the off season. You know, he's sticks six, three hundred thirty pounds like that is a massive human

being. And you have that guy starting at your right guard spot. You know, Jayden Delora has said that, you know, the two tackles that Arizona has right now, these are walking first rounders. And then you put in Raymond Polido in that mix. And then coupled with Josh Baker at center who's a multi year starter, and Wendell mo who played a little bit at the tail end of last season. You know, Arizona has the size and the experience and the talent. And I really really believe that tomorrow night,

We're not going to see a lot of Jaden Delora slinging the ball. We might see a player two for Jacob Cowing and t mac and some receivers, but I really think we're going to see Arizona just go out and kind of impose their will and just run all over n e U. Yeah, I think that's a good analysis. Yeah, for tomorrow. Yeah, defensively, what do you what do you expect to see defensively. You know, I'm curious to see how Arizona does against I mean, whoever's playing quarterback, because

you know ANYU they have a little quarterback controversy. It's either Ki Milner or Angel Floras, both Arizona guys. Kyle Milner is a former four star guy who ended up going to CAW and then transferred to any U. He's not as mobile as Angel Flores. So if Angel Flores is the guy who gets the call, and now we're you know, Arizona's dealing with a dual threat quarterback, you know, are you going to be able to you know, kind of keep an eye on him and make sure that he doesn't get out

of pocket and start running. But I mean, regardless, Arizona also has just massive bodies on the defensive line that they got from the trans reportal. You know, Arizona's average defensive line waits for the starters that they're going to roll out there. It's two hundred and eighty three pounds. But I put an asterisk next to that because one of those starters weighs two hundred and twenty five pounds. The interior defensive linemen are well over three hundred pounds and then

you have Taylor Upshaw the transfers from Michigan. He's right there at like two ninety seven. So I mean the Wildcashes have size, they have you know, big bodies in the middle on the interior line, and then they have speed and athleticism and size coming off the edge. And so I think it's going to be a similar situation. I think those guys that Arizona goth in

the trans reportal are gonna go out there and shine. I'm curious to see how many are consistently in rotation because the defensive coordinator, Johnny Nanson, said that he wanted to rotate anywhere from maybe eight to nine guys, which is a massive improvement from a year ago. So yeah, I think defensively, you're going to see a lot of defensive linemen get in the game. You're gonna see those safeties rotate. You know, Gunner Maldonado and Dalton Johnston were

named the two starting safeties. You know, how does Isaiah Taylor come in the game and affect the game? Because you know, jet Fish, I thought made a really good point. You know, just because you know it's the first week depth chart, it doesn't mean that that's what it's going to

be like for the rest of the season. You know Jacob Man who last year he started off the season playing on the scout team and then next thing you know, he's arguably Arizona's most impactful player on that side of the ball. So I mean, if guys going in practice and go on the scout team and make an impact, a coach has noticed that stuff. And that's how wendelm got on the starting offensive line. So you know, Isaiah Taylor,

how how will he look when he gets in the game? Jenesis Smith of freshman safety firm Chandler, Now, these are really talented safeties, and jet Fish said that, you know, just because you know you're not starting, it doesn't mean that you can't come in and just absolutely kill it on Series three and then be so dominant to where the coaches are going to give you Series four or five and six. So the Wildcats got some bodies that they can use. They have depth on both sides of the ball. But

the defensive newcomers are definitely gonna be something to watch. But I'm not going to use Saturday. And this is with all due respect to ANYU. I know you know, people, I'm not I'm going full Ricky Bobby here. When I say with all due respect, I say disrespectful, with all due respect to an EU. I just think that you know, Arizona is way too talented at this point two years ago. So I really think we're not going to get a good answer on how good or how different this Arizona team.

I think that's gonna be next week when the Wildcasts go down south and get them some sec country because Mississippi States not messing around. I think that's gonna be the true test. Yeah, no question. So do they gain anything? You know, you beat them fifties whatever to fourteen or thirty eight to ten. Do they get anything except that they didn't lose to NAU Again, Yeah, they didn't lose any of you. They set the tone right, They get a win that they should get and the PAC twelve is gonna

be so loaded this year? Is that? You know? I have a funny feeling that you know, there's gonna be some games where we think Arizona should win and then they're gonna end up losing. So I think, you know, if you rack up on the wins now, especially because it gets hard in the middle part of your schedule. You know, you've got USC in Washington, in Oregon State. It's going to get tough of the Wildcats here in the middle of the season. But if you can beat any you

you know, you can figure out a way to beat Mississippi State. And I know that's a tall task, but it's conceivable that it could happen. And then you come back home, you beat Utah, and you go on the road and you take care of Stanford on the road. Like we're looking at realistically, Arizona starting the season four and now maybe even three to one. But on Saturday, I really don't think Arizona is going to gain much.

But I think defensively it'll be nice for them to play one full game together, get a foundation, and then use that for next week when they got to face a you know, a bunch of cow bells on the road in Starkville. Something that we don't ever talk about, and because it's not the sexiest part of thing, but you know, special teams, and I'll

just tell you a story. So after the ninety three season when Arizona beat Miami and the fastball and stuff, we just talked to Rob Waldrip about that But the next year, going into the season, I had a conversation with Dick Tomy and I said, I said, you know, you expects you guys to be really, really damn good because he pretty much got everybody back. And he said, just just like you would expect, you say it just he goes at the end of the season, just remember we are going

into this year without a punter. And it was like a big deal to him, like it was really going to have an impact on how good or bad they were going to be because Josh Miller, who ended up, you know, as a punter for the Steelers, you know, he was gone. And he said, just remember when you watch us play that we don't have a punter. And I'm like, okay, well, you know, I'm you know, I'm like, what the hell does that mean? But you know, you know, Arizona has got two of the best in the

country both, you know, as at punning and place kicking. How big of a deal was that. I think it's huge, I really do, because you know, kylosen Door. They were so many times last season where he would punt or he would tend a guy inside the twenty yard line. And we also saw in training camp that. You know, he has really good placement when it comes to punning. And so Kylosendorp, who is, by the way, a future hydro mechanic or whatever it is. He's an

aeronautical engineering major. The kids wickt smart like he's at whenever he's done with football, he's gonna end up being successful whatever he does. But I think him as a punter, he's definitely got a future there. He was an All packs ball guy a couple of years ago, and I think he can

have another similar type of season this year now. But with Tyler Loop, I'm really curious though, because he has yet to make a kick outside of fifty yards however, is ninety percent I think career wise, and he has yet to miss a PAP. So the short game is money for Tyler Loop. But you know, there comes a situation where Arizona needs a leg, what are you gonna do? And then their backup kicker, Cash Peterman, which is one of my favorite names on the team. He the transfer for

BYU. Him and Tyler Loop they really struggled in that first look scrimmage a couple of weeks ago. I tallied those kickers going two for six combined for field goals, which ain't really good. So I think kicking wise, that's something to keep an eye on. But you know what I think, you know, going back to my whole point about oh, I haven't seen Tyler Loop kick anything outside of fifty rs. I think once Arizona gets in that

range, that's four down territory for them. They only want to use Tyler Loop unless they know or if they know that it's a guarantee three points and it's really going to help out Arizona. But special teams is going to be a huge factor for Arizona. And you know another thing that you know, not a lot of people are talking about is I think Arizona is going to have, you know, some really good returners this year. I think Jacob Calling as a punt returner. You know, you look at you know,

Michael Wiley at running back. He's it back there, you know, returning kicks. G seven Jay A Celestine, the guy from from Miami. He is one of the fastest guys on the team, and I mean he's so quick when he gets out in the space, he can do a lot of damage. So I know, we talked about the offense that was really good last year, in the rebuilding defense. But Arizona is going to be very sound in what Jetfish calls the kicking in. Okay, So Justin wills to

see you tomorrow. All right, man, good luck, You're just you're just a little over twelve hours from your game face, so go get it on. Man. Hey, thanks for having me on. Guys, we appreciate it. Fab five Friday picks. You don't sound fired up about this. I'm not too confident in week one already games already. Well you're well, you're you're an NFL guy anyways, right, you always always trying to pick more NFL than college. I'm laing in the weeds.

That's what I'm doing, Okay, all right, So for our listeners, the way this works, Steve and I will pick five games against the point spread every week. This week it's all college games, so we do that. But normally we'll take two college, two pro, and then we each decide whether our fifth pick is college or pro. I generally go college. Ste generally goes Pro. We do them against the point spreads. These are

Thursday point spreads. That we use, and then we pick a lock, which is a game that of our five that we think is a lock. And then there's a special game which is that LSU Florida State this week that we both have to pick. And there's added value to that total of six points possible and total of minus one possible and everything in between. So and we keep standings all season long. We post this on our social media and

we just have fun with them. We had a little wager going that where this is part of a football pool that we do, and so the loser has to pay the winner's entry next year. So Steve's got to come up with my entry for this year. So and Sid is going to listen closely and tell us switch pick suck and which ones don't. I will make sure that all right, Since I am the champion of the world right now, I will go first, Steve, Okay, that's fine, all right.

My first game, I'm taking Ohio State giving thirty to Indiana. I just don't think Indiana is very good. This is at Indiana a little. I'm a little worried that, you know, an opener on the road giving that many points. But I just think oh State they know they got to make go out and do some stuff. They're gonna try and run up the score as much as they can. And I want to have State minus the thirty

against Indiana. Yeah, I think. I don't know if that's a good bet or not because it's too early to tell, but I think that we're gonna have to pick at least one or two games where the spreads are high. Yeah, given you know the first three games with the games, so I'll go pick mine. I'll pick my, and I'll go A and M minus thirty eight over New Mexico. Okay, just on the fact that I

think New Mexico is horrible football wise. Yeah. So I thought hard about that game, but decided to lay off of that because I thought if a better game, Yeah, all right, so you got Ohio State. I mean, I'm sorry, Ay and M minus thirty eight against against New Mexico. All right. My second game, this goes because of what I saw last week US He's given up thirty eight points to Nevada, and I think that's just too many because I think Nevada's going to score. It's funny because

I was gonna go the opposite way. I didn't pick the game. I wanted to pick the game, but I got off. I'm taking Nevada and I'm taking Nevada plus the thirty eight. I just think, you know, ye is gonna have a tough time covering that because they're just gonna give up too many points. And we saw yet last week that they're gonna do that again this year. So I've gotten Nevada minus plus the thirty eight against USC. Okay, you'll find out. But you're only here once a week.

You might get here two a times a week. That he what happens on the Tuesday. He uses it until Saturday. So you know, if you're late on a Monday, said, he'll say, said, it's gonna be late again. See, it's gonna be late again. It's not a one off. It's not a one off. It's a continue, it's a double. You know, girl weinked at me. I think she's in a weekend me again, Jay, she has something in her eye. Can we move on? We're running out of time here. Let's go second one Nevada Nevada

plus thirty eight against USC. Okay, I'm gonna go with the Washington minus fourteen over Moist State. Okay, your your favorite to win the league. Yes, I'm taking them right away. Yeah, and you know what, I'm taking them too. So that's my third pick, Washington against Boise State. And in fact, you're gonna hate this. I'm lucky. Yeah. Yeah. I just looked at that and I said, okay, okay,

that's cool. Yeah, I like it. I yeah, I mean, well again, Washington is gonna try to be impressive, so I'm going with that as well. So that's my third pick. Okay, So I'm gonna go with Washington State minus eleven and I'm gonna I'm gonna lock that one. Okay. And who are they're playing? You don't know, God, you got Oh they're at Colorado State. Yeah, okay, that Colorado State minus eleven. Yeah, all right, that's interesting, and you're gonna lock that.

I didn't want to lock Washington because you like Washington. I do like Washington, all right. A game that a game that's been talked about a bunch. I you know again, I I gotta get my day started. I want to pick one of the nine o'clock games, you know. I want to have some juice early, right, I want to meet in my you know, treso and eggs and uh or maybe some botha doughnuts or something like that. But I got I gotta have some action early in the day.

And this is a game that's been talked about a lot. I'm gonna take TCU. I'm gonna give up the twenty and a half to Colorado. I think Colorado maybe better than some people think. But this is a first game. It's the first power of five game for a lot of these guys. You know, everybody's by Colorado. Nobody's talking about TCU. They were in the National Championship Game last year. Sonny Dikes is a KG coach. Uh. And while Dean Sanders thinks a lot of himself, uh, Sonny

Dikes is a really damn good coach. And I just think they've got uh, they're set up to just really, uh take care of business with Colorado. So first one of the first games that comes on tomorrow, I'm taking TCU minus the twenty and a half against Colorado. Okay, that's a that's a that's gonna be an interesting pick. I'm not sure. I didn't know much about Colorado. Nobody does, so we'll see what happy well nobody does.

But I you know, first game, the first game is tough enough, but this is a first game for a for a program that's you know, a coach that's never coached at this level. So let me ask you too, because he does this a lot too, said, is this all Jaggins? All this his picks? Or is this somebody else's picks? These are my picks? Well, Stanford Stephen the Bear are no more so, but you get you still searching? Yeah, you know these are my picks. So this will be all year. Not necessarily. I was busy this

week. I didn't have time to let's do a lot of stuff. But but Stanford Steve still picks, doesn't he still he's gonna be on game Day now. But he doesn't have a podcast, so you okay, so you will see Stanford Steve and the Bear would put out a podcast on Thursday. I'm I am. I am going solo. I like my chants, like I was competed against those guys I was about. Am I wrong? No, you're not wrong, You're not wrong, But but you know I can do this. No, No, I like my chests. I know how

I've been picking games for a long time. So I'm gonna go with Texas Tech. When I was fourteen over Wyoming. Okay, we know a couple of guys. I'll go into Larimie. They're gonna watch a game out there, Lary, you know, yeah, yeah yeah. So all right, so Texas Tech. I like that game. I was see lucky that one too, But now I'm gonna go with Washington State. All right, okay, so all right, that's an interesting one, kind of I would say

off the radar game. Well, it is a little bit, I guess, right, but okay, very good, all right, it gives me something to wi. Look. One things I love about this is that there's all kinds of games for me to keep an eye on too. You know, have you have you done any have you set up anything for tomorrow with DraftKings? Have you done? No? No, because I don't know. I just don't know. Yeah, all right, all right, now we both got to pick u alaee Florida State. That's really the big game of

the week across the board, a couple of highly ranked teams. Both teams think they got a shot at the national championship. This is a neutral site game. It's in Orlando, so it's it's more Florida State territory than LSU. But Alice, you fan, they don't care where a game is they go. I remember when they came here back in the Macavic years, and there are a whole bunch of them here. We had fun with them. They sat across the ale from us. I think they felt sorry for us,

because I was those teams were really terrible. Anyways, it's the line is LSU minus two and a half? I am taking LSU. I just think that they're I just think they're better. I think Florida State is getting over hyped. Uh. You know, they were good one year after a lot of bad years last year, and uh, I feel like LSU, you know again, they want to get into that, into the playoff, and they think they can do that, and I just think that they're gonna

They're gonna handle business over and over in Orlando. So what do you think. I'm gonna use some of that logic and go with LSU as well minus two and a half, which is perfect because it's a field goal field though, who wins the game within the game, right, So LSU two I like to for some of the reasons, you believe Florida State LSU, we know is going to be good Florida State. We don't know what if they're gonna be doing. Yeah, but you know Javier or trusty Javier. I

know he's joking because this is how he jokes. I'm thinking about basing my college football bets this weekend on the picks of the everybody Stephen Jay right now and taking the opposite. We do not advise that we don't. We don't. We really don't, and we specific we specifically can't in relation to our our draft kings thing. But no, we don't. But stay safe, have you stay away from these picks? Have one eight hundred, Next step,

buddy, one eight hundred, next step. All right, your review of our picks there, Sid, what do you think you like him? Out you hate him? What do you think I do like them? I was really splay on the LSU game, but given the fact that I do have Florida State in my colle football playoff, I kind of have to pick him the really before the season starts. I'll just review my picks for the coll football playoff. I have a Georgia, Michigan, Florida State in Washington.

Nice, so he's got he's got Washington. I tell you, the mouth of babies doesn't mean it's right. We had we had Jason giving you a bunch of advice, and that didn't work. I didn't work either.

I know, I know, I know, I know, all right, So to review, I've got to Ohio State minus thirty in nevadapalus thirty eight, TCU minus twenty and a half, lock in Washington minus fourteen, and I've got LSU minus two and a half in the special, Steve's got Texas ay and then minus thirty eight, Washington minus fourteen, Washington State minus eleven as his lock, Texas Tech minus fourteen, and LSU also minus two and

a half. We'll post Seas up on social media sometime tonight and then and everybody, Hey, you know what We're coming to the end of the week, Steve. We've got a game tomorrow. Listen. Listen to the podcast Spotify Apple Podcast, iHeart Radio. Uh, follow us, rate us, love us, and listen to us and give us a call you know, when you get a chance. But it's been a fun week. It's been fun getting ready for the season, Steve. Yeah, man, great guests

this week. Yeah, next week should be fun. We'll try to reach the Mississippi State guy, we'll get ready for the big game. Game special. Thanks to Rob Waldrop, hall of Fame college football player, for joining us on the show. He was great, fifties, fifty he has to be fifty, he's retired. Wow. Oh man, I hate him, and I know I didn't look like him at fifty. No. No, I never looked like him at twenty twenty five eighteen ever. Ever. All Right, hey said, nice job today. Appreciate it. Man, You've

done really well. All Right, Okay, we got to get out here. We'll be back. We're off on Monday. We'll be back on Tuesday and wrap up the NAU game. So be we'll see you on Tuesday.
