I'm Steve, He's Andy. Now we got Juan with breaking news and this is I on the Ball breaking News on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. You already pulled it off. That's cool. Great, that's a good fight. Where to keep you
for next week? Love it? So. I don't know if you guys saw this, but the Buffalo Bill signed a gold medalist wrestler, Gabe Gable Stephenson. Yeah, it's a big dude. Must be a big dude. I mean they say he dominated the college wrestling world. So we never played football, have you? Do you know some wrestlers I'm sure you do. No, not really to me. The toughest dudes around. They know angles, know how to get to places where you know what, well, we
just blocked no, the angles and strain and things like that. Yeah, no, I understand that part. And everyone had some some of those pretty good dudes that we could just athletic building and angles and they were good. I'll bet you he does. Well, I hope so, I mean it'd be a cool story to see, right, right, just recently, the Jake Paul Mike Tyson fight got to have to be postponed due to the ulcer incident with So it's been postponed. Did you did you? Okay? Postponed
because last week, right, he had an emergency. Okay, I hadn't seen that because I know it was in question. I don't know if you guys remember this, but about two years ago they had the University of Virginia school shooting. Yes, that's the Virginia is going to be paying nine million related to the slame football players. Yeah, right, we got some hockey tonight. We got the stars and the believe it's thet or is that was
that? Are they tied up to? Right? So this is yeah, like we mentioned been mentioning, Arizona GCU going at it tonight, sold out high Corbett. So you're going to go watch? Are you gonna be working? What are you doing? Drive by there? I think I can't. My pass is not good because they're not honoring the Arizona passes and double a Yes, it is absolutely okay. How does that? How does that work for tickets tickets sales. Who gets that money? It still goes through.
It's a it's I'm gonna guess. I'm gonna guess it still goes through. You have a ticket office, So I believe there are some fees and some buyouts that have to happen, and and then then today gets their cut. Yeah, I'm sure there is. I don't know what the contract is and okay, hate to speculate, Okay, I know they're trying to sell as many tickets as possible and they have, right, Okay, bear down, let's go and h Last night, the Dallas Mavericks moved on U into the
NBA Finals. They're going to be playing the Boston Celtics. Who would ever thought that they get this far do well after last year's debacca. You know when they first paired up Kyrie and uh right, it's the experiment worked this year, right, they're running meshed really good right now and they're together. What people are saying, they're the best backcourt in forever, like scoring, scoring, Stephen Thompson were pretty damn good, and there are some other ones
that have been putting good. I think they're talking about now, oh today, five years ago like today. I've heard a lot of people say ever bringing that up. Yeah, I don't know about Stephan Klay Thompson. Were pretty dangerous, pretty dangerous and pretty good. Yea splash brothers. Yeah, and then in some a little bit of sad Mbia news. Uh, the brother of Aaron Gordon, Drew Gordon, former Philadelphia seventy six er, died in a car crash today. Car accident. Yeah, I think it was
yesterday, yesterday in California, Northern California. Who is frum? Uh? And uh? The reason I saw that one of my one of our former guests, well, my coworker in Albuquerque wrote the story because he played at New Mexico. He was at u C l A and then he went to New Mexico and then played in the NBA for a little bit. The Drew family very very talented group. Yeah. Yeah, so our thoughts go out to them. Yeah, okay, what anything else? That was quick?
That was quick. We got a lot of time. Nobody's given mavericks any I don't I'm not, I know really yeah, not even a shooters chance. No really no, I don't know why, but I'm not like, are you talking about sweep? Or no, five or six, five or six. No, they're good enough to win a couple of games in Dallas maybe, but Boston's i'm a good. So they're good. They're they're good. They should have won this right right, and you bring him back?
Why do you bring him back? He's supposed to be back. Yeah, there, he's kind of if he if he in the first game, right in the second game. So anybody want to call Plice to do? Uh, well, you get some time to take some calls. Five two four, one s forty good to hear from you. Yeah, I don't.
I'm back to that bazingis thing. Why you know, I would you bring back somebody if your team is is clicking the chemistry that that's the good question is that question is do you bring that guy back in It's kind of like your starting quarterback we know Arizona. Yeah, yeah, benched a guy because he was hurt and then he came back and like, yeah, you know what, Yeah, no, I don't disagree with that because you know, if it's not broke, don't fix it, right because it doesn't need to
be fixed. They just swept the team. But but then you have the well, he's talented and he's good. Bring him back and see what happens. Right, he's got five six fous. Let me ask you. Let me ask you. Being a former athlete, and I kind of hinted this with JB about getting paid and I l and all that stuff. You're a businessman, Yes, how do you think the schools are going to survive? Have all this craziness now in the near future? Twenty million? You gotta
get pay the kids in addition to whatever else you're getting. Sure they have to get out in front of it. I mean, that's I think Arizona's done a great job of leading NCAA in policies, procedures and helping the kids understand you're gonna make money, You're gonna have to pay taxes. Yeah, there's a lot of stuff coming with Is that what you're talking No, No, I'm talking about in house. You know, there are already millions in
debts, millions and millions million of debt. Now they have to find twenty million, but I guess I have it. I mean to pay the kids, they kind of find it. I mean, it's already been done. That's kind of the easy thing. I think you m Berto Lopez and those guys have helped retain guys from football get back outside money. I could be yeah, No, I don't think nil money HiT's your budget doesn't hit You're right right right now you're saying it will. Now you have twenty million through
all the things that you the revenues and all that. I think the the umberto stuff is on the side. That is on the side side. Now twenty million plus the side money. Oh wow, Yeah, how do you do it? I'm sure, I'm sure, I'm sure. And you don't even have to say yes or no that you've gotten hit up a few times to help with nil. Sure, absolutely, And whether you do or not, that's on you. But uh, two sons of smallish town. Sure.
Yeah. But you also want to see a product that you're gonna put money into that You're not ferviously spending money either, So I'm kind of a cautious guy when it comes to that. I want to see how it's going to go first. I want to see, you know what. I don't have a lot of money to just give away, so I'm spending it on an eye on the ball. Yeah, money goes right to you in my head, and come in there and talk to you orter, but now I want I'm a cautious guy and I want to see the process and how it
goes for a few wants for me a few years. But having to bring it now into your budget as a as a big corporation, that's a it's a big deal. And it's not like you're raising revenue anywhere. I mean, all you can do is raise and take yours well, and that's it. That's it, because it's got to come from somewhere. And luckily for Arizona it has its basketball program sure, which keeps a lot of people afloat. So a view of a has space. So now you're talking about do
I need to rent out my space more? Can I Can I go outside of sports and rent it locally to the community. So there's a revenue streams that that we don't that they don't touch at the moment. Where As I was at UNLV, when I worked at Thomas and Max Center, athletics was a side piece. We did boxing matches from Hilton and MGM came in and made it theirs and we did Disney on ice, we did circus, we did concerts, we did so that was all side revenue. A big revenue,
and we kicked athletic money at the side. So I think that's a possibility, is that you can rent some space on your building. Didn't even think of that. But but if you're in a situation like this, so why not host who would not want to play a soccer match at the u of a field? Who would not put your AAU team or what? And that's where the compliance issue is with who can I bring on the campus with recruiting? But it doesn't matter anymore and il you can pay dude, So
what's the big deal exactly? Why not? I mean, that's that's you have to have to honestly look at it. I think, and I'd got to get out of this semester, but somehow, yeah, And that's there's revenue streams you got to think about, and those that's a possibility. Renting space you got plenty of it, right, Razing, parking, raising tickets. You can only raise those things so much before people stop coming. So you're around a lot, tell tell us your capacity being around a lot A
lot? So my own your co owners are the owner of the A team, right. So I've been now in the special event business for twenty five years thirty years, and I've seen it grow, and I've seen it gotten crazy. Tickets Tickets to concert used to be seventeen to fifty twenty bucks. That's not even close. Now I paid a beer. I paid one hundred and fifty bucks just to walk in the door the other day. It's well, it's a beer, seventeen eighteen bucks. So Final four, Final four.
I think I told you. Final four beers were twenty three bucks apiece after tip. I bought two after a tip. It was fifty three dollars. My good lord, I just spent fifty three dollars. So I had about six margage my house and I got six pack. But you had a good time, had a great time, did you. Obviously you went to one in Phoenix because you go every year, and well, I'm gonna we're gonna go all over the board here. I didn't enjoy my experience at the
Final four. I've been to nineteen this year, and I don't like Phoenix because it's spread out, it's downtown. They have the fun. I had the games. It has the games, and the games were not that good. No, that's where my fun was not good. No, I agree with the games. Were there and it is spread out and I'm gone. I've gone as many times as you have, And now the games is kind of what I focus on, the fun part. Stuff we meet. There's twenty thirty of us that go, and we all meet Friday night for a
drink and then we go to the games. And then Sunday night we have big dinner. Everybody sings and gets crazy. But the games are now with my focus. I don't go to the con I don't go to the concerts. I don't go to the fan fest anymore. It's you know, that's you're above that. Now. I want to see the games right, and if the games aren't good and kind and they weren't good, no, no,
so you kind of root and I'm I love watching the people. I love when their team loses and they all just melt right, just just like, oh, my team is out of it. What am I gonna do? Right? We get the play and we're gonna go. We're gonna go watch all the bridges tonight because you know, Canada Kentucky loss. I mean I remember going. I don't know if I want to be that fan. If Arizona's in it in Final four comes, I'm gonna be one of those
guys it's looking for to jump off. There are some crazy fans in this there are lots of them, and they show up. So Saturday you're up. You see it's Saturday. There there's a half and then their team wins, and everybody from that stage just shows up, like is there anybody left in Connecticut? Anybody in Indiana? And you know, yeah, but turn the lights off when you leave, right, No, because there was a ton of people from you. There was so many people. It waswhere where
I went, it was black and gold everywhere. And when they lost, you're just like, oh, better go guard the bread. What do you make of Oh, the big guy? I wasn't impressed. He's a huge dude, Don't get me wrong. I don't think his jump shots there outside of like we said, you need to hit that eleven or twelve foot jumper consistently nine out of ten times, and I never saw him get that.
It was two foot dunk, half foot dunk. That was it. Those were okay, But the the Connecticut guy, the big guy was very good. Yeah, he held his own and he could be in the top five clingand something like that. Yeah, playing the Star Trek I loved what I mean, I'm not a big Hurley fan, but I kinda he won me over. Yeah, he did. That. Whole team won me over with this their grit and watching him. He's good coach. Yeah, he's a
he's a pain. If you watched him, watch him directly, he's uh, he's tough on the on the on the rafts and stuff on the He's kind of Bobby Hurley light in a in a way. I still liked watch I mean, I did. He won me over this this year. Last year was that at one shots? What's your best final four? What's the venue? Venue? New Orleans? Yeah, san Antonium, New Orleans. Yeah, San Antonio's. New Orleans is great because everything is central. Yeah.
In Indianapolis, Oh yeah, of course, yeah those three spots. I agree with you. Indianapolis is good. We haven't talked to Big twelve. I know they're gonna go Vegas. Kansas City now, ye, Kansas City. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that, but they say they have a great time in is a good spot. My so short story. My nephew n ai A school played in Columbia College in Missouri and their finals were always in Kansas city and it was fun. Yeah, yeah, it
was fun. They bring you know, eight I think it's eight teams. They bring in ni A and they just play around Robin for the whole weekend. And then it was good. We had good time. They're good food, good food. Yeah right, well we'll see. We'll see in a few months. If I saw they were already selling tickets for that they yeah, oops, yeah, over the championship. Really okay, we better get online. So what your name? And I think you gotta drawl? Oh,
use my credential. Yeah, we gotta go. We're gonna go and get to Jake Fisher. The Windows Depot is more than a Windows store. It's Steve Rivera and Jagen Salvins the Ball on Fox Sports fourteenth. Hey, welcome back to Winning the Ball hero on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Rivera. He's not Jaken Zealz, but he's Andy Brown. Got on with us today and now we have Jake Fisher, former U of A football player, one of our great sponsors. Jake, how you doing wonderful? How's your guys Friday going? We're doing well, thank you. We had Joseph Blair earlier in the first hour, so you have a lot to live
up to. That's just rude. But I know you're gonna come through. You know why. A lot of has happened in the basketball world, and I don't I don't know if I've seen you on Twitter at all waxing poetic, But what did you think of Love coming back and then the dominoes that
fell alongside with it? Yeah, I mean it was a lot. I had been following a lot of folks that have the inside track and a lot of that stuff going on, and some of the message boards on some of the websites, and they have been doing us about this for a couple of weeks in terms of josn saying on basically leaving if Caleb Love does, and that Joe Son sting On had apparently had been shopped around quite a bit, and you know, basically a couple guys said he's probably not gonna end up
here because we believe Caleb Buff's coming back. The one that surprised me was Jamari Phillips. I thought he was going to be here regardless, but I guess he didn't. You know, he didn't want to sit and not get any minutes, but you know, you uh, he kind of got to go ahead and take the guy that became an All American last year over a freshman that's unproven. Yeah, sure, hear this. Hear this from me for both you guys, you and Andy and he used to play here back
in the early nineties. Okay, So you know what what Caleb Glove is capable of? What does he need to do to get better individually but also be part of the team. So the question is what is he got to get better at to be a professional? Because no, that's the question is if I'm just going to work on the things that the combine told me to work on, does that necessarily help me team? Good question? Am I working on something that's going to help the team and get me to the NBA?
Or is it just something that the combine told me to work on to get me to be a pro? Okay, so what kind of mindset is he bringing back to the team. Is it still a team concept? Is it still Hey, I want to be part of this or am I just working on the thing that's going to get me to the NBA? Jake, Well, I think I think him taking over more of a backup point guard role. You know, he apparently he didn't grade out in terms of the height that they want him to be as a combo guard or a shooting guard
at the NBA. I mean, he came out in like, what six two and a half when he's listed at six four. So I think he needs to work on dribbling and I think he needs to get to the basket more. I mean, he averaged over eighteen points a game last year and
I felt like he lived at the three point line a lot. So if he's able to get to the basket a little bit more, you know, maybe take a few more free throws of the game, I think it will increase his boring output and I think that'll probably make his transition, as you know, to the pros a little bit easier. So for both of you guys, it's a win that he's coming back and h and not. You know, your mortgage. Your mortgage is the president of the future for the
today. Sure, absolutely, well ya apparently was going to be a one and done regardless of how he did. So absolutely if you get one year of a college All American versus one year of someone you don't know how they're going to be, uh, you know, in college, I take the all American every single day. Okay, makes sense, Absolutely makes sense. Okay, so now you have pretty much your team back, at least you have it set with Bradley back, and uh with kJ. I like this
team a lot. If we get the Bradley that we got against Clemson, I mean that's gonna be awesome. And then obviously, you know kJ is gonna play with the high motor. He's gonna be awesome on defense. I think if he's you know, if he has a few more minutes to play, obviously wish you will. He's not, you know, right in the benure most of the game, I think he's scoring up. It's gonna go up. I just think he does a little bit of everything. You already
know you're going to get scoring from Caleb Love. So I like those three in the I like those three to start the game. That's gonna be awesome. What's you know, what I want to see is how the bigs are going to do. I want to see how more previous turns out. And I think twentend obviously he shows that he shows up in big games for a smaller school, so that starting five could be potent. Yeah, you know, the one guy that's not being mentioned that I really liked when I saw
him last year. The previous year was Henry before he got hurt, you know, off the field, off the court, because he's so versatile, and will he play at four? Will he play a five? Does do they need him in the role? You know who knows because we didn't see him at all last year. Yeah, well, it looks like, you know, he's still tall and then and it looks like he started to lose
his confidence a little bit. To be honest with you, I mean, you know, the reason why he didn't play a lot down the stretch is because they couldn't rely, you know, on him to be on the court. So if he you know, gets a little stronger mentally, a little bigger physically, and he's okay with with the you know, bruising down low, then absolutely, But you never know if he likes to keep it tight you know, eight man rotation, and if he's playing, that means that
he's put it in the work. Yeah, agree, And so he goes eight. You know, he has depth. I can't and back in the day Lout had probably eight and he was not gonna go deep. I think that's a fallacy we had seven eight, we had seven and a half. We had we had Kevin off the bench, and we had Corey and Joe McClain. Right, those are the three off the But but in the college level, for depth, you could have it, but coaches don't use it. No, you need the depth. You need a good depth team to
have practice, right, So you need that part of it. So if you have eight, you have good eight guys on the bench that can push your starters. That's the key, I think. Yeah, and guys that know their role. So if I knew my role is like, you know what, I'm gonna walk on. I'm not going to be starter. I'm not going to be that guy. I shouldn't act like I should be on them. I'm gonna do my job and help the team win the best way I can, right, And sometimes that's just showing up and putting in the
work in football. In football, Jake, did you have those guys? Guy? I know you you are not a role player, you actually played, but did you have those key role players that you their their their their spot. Uh? Every year, with the exception of my junior year,
we did. We had depth. We had and it's really important when it comes to the recruiting, making sure that you get someone that's competent, that that you know is either physically developed or can't physically developed at a high level, because you know, when these guys become sophomores, you want them pushing for the starting position. But what worries me now, especially in basketball, is a lot of these guys, if they don't start their freshman year or
play a lot, they're transferring. So I like what Tommy's doing. He's bringing in guys that actually fall into the system and believe in it. You know, every now and then you're gonna lose a guy like Boswell. But I mean you have Jayden coming back, you have kJ coming back, Caleb Bluff coming back, Moe coming back. You have a lot of guys coming back that believe in the system and that aren't you know, taking off for a bigger, better thing. Yeah right right, No, that's key.
And then everybody's going to have their role, even I think Caleb's going to have to adjust his role a little bit more to become more of a team player and like you say, maybe be more of a point guard, get to the basket more and have some more assists. It surprised me how good of a pass or he was last year. I didn't think he was that good of a pass, right. There are some games where you know whether it's a lob or whether someone goes the back door, and you know he
put the right on the money. I was actually really surprised at that, Andy, Sure, I was. Another concern I have is both he and Bradley like to have the ball in their hands, right. Bradley goes downhill really well, and he too, kind of has a little love in him where it's like, I get the ball, I'm going to score because that's what they've done all their lives. Now you have two dudes with that mentality.
Well right now, Oh sorry Andy ego. First, I was gonna say the one thing that really annoyed me about bos Well is he didn't really take you off the dribble. And if he didn't get you know, a step back, why it's open three point. It's almost like he was not existing on offense in my opinion. So I like guys that can move and blow past their defenders. If you have guys that can spot up, you
know they're in the right place at the right time. You know they'll be open for a shot and if he goes up, he goes up strong and he gets to the free throw line. That was the key. The key to the point is that you want to move the defense. The defense kind of flatten out and come back flattening down by You got to move the defense. If you're just standing at the top looking for your three pointer, it's not going to happen. But Bradly got to the hole and he got to
the foul on. Yeah, right, that was key. I mean he I never saw boss will do that. So no Cleston game when he was getting to the hole. I mean how many times did he throw it out to a wide open three? We just weren't making them. Yes, that's true, absolutely right. No, Now you have two guys that can do that. You got both of those guys on the court, and your defense is gotta be on heads on the swivel now, so you got to woot. Where where is everybody at? And if you can get to that hole
and get fouls. You know, as a shooter, if I'm not shooting, well, I got to get to the line because that's where IM going to get back. I need to get back to the free throw line and get my touch back, get my confidence back to see it go through. Right, You hear that all the time, just need to see one go through. And sometimes that was love like and Caleb, I mean Boswell for sure, if his first one didn't go through, you might as well sit
him on the bench. Right. The one thing I really liked was and you saw it a couple of times, not just in Clemson where where kJ and Bradley played really well together and gave the team some spark and some energy. On the defensive end. Yeah, they created a lot offense with their defense because they're long, their their hands were in the lanes. They were getting deflections and just making it difficult for the team. I think Boswell is
sorry. Yeah, those two seem to always just have their hands in the right spot. I mean, just they're always hitting the ball. Even if you get by them, you know they're coming and poking the ball out and you have a chance to get a fast break. Yeah, right, and then to watch right right, because it's kind of like when you're young and energetic, you kind of just played for the front of it and then really don't you kind of eliminate the noise if you will, and just play And
they played really well together. Yeah right, And those are the types of guards they're gonna need for the Big twelve, right, yes, right, and definitely gonna need depth for the peck. For the Big twelve, you're gonna need some files to give yeah, resolutely right now, real quick to Jake Arizona got that big defensive lineman from from from southern cal what'd you think?
I just think it's another piece you can throw in there to eat up a body or two and to spell a couple of those guys when they get tired. The one thing I really liked about our defensive line last year, no one got over what was it like, twenty five thirty snaps a game. So you get to the fourth quarter, you know those guys on the offensive line are on their seventy seventy fifth play. You got these guys that are on their twenty fifth or you know, they got a high motor.
They still got a lot of juice to get off the edge or to blow a guy off the line. And you know, when you're eating up blocks like that, especially in a Dwayne Quina system, you're gonna have a lot of guys blsting and you don't know where they're coming from So you eat up a body or two, you give those guys a little crease they're going to make a play. Yeah, yeah, more optimistic or anything changed with your
outlook for the football team. Probably not. No, really, to be honest with you, I think that we did a good job of bringing in depth. That's what I was worried about, because you've got you've got solid starters everywhere you look, but like you know, corner, for example, you have a guy that could be a first round draft pick, and then all of a sudden you had a big question mark on the other side defensive line. You know, you have four solid starters, but hey, where's
the death? I think they address that. And then you have, you know, one of the best linebackers in the country in Manu Well, who's going to start alongside them? So you know, there was always safeties. We already knew we were going to be stacked there. But I mean, you look everywhere you have solid players, but it's like depth, and you know, you just have to plug and play a few other positions, and the offense is gonna be good no matter what, not no matter what.
But you know what I'm saying, it's gonna be good. As long as you have that quarterback, we're gonna be five. Yeah, solves a lot of problems, right, Yeah, And don't forget the wide receiver. Yeah you can catch oh, I know, but you got to remember, like one of the like one of the coaches said last year on one of the interviews, I forget who it was. He wasn't trying to, you know,
talk trash about the last quarterback, but he goes. The one thing about Noah is if you're open, he's not staring on the other side of the field. He's gonna find you if you get open. So if you have a lot of young, talented receivers, a couple of these guys, they're gonna pop their heads up just because they know how to get open, and they're gonna have the ball. Yeah, did you still keep it?
This is a dumb, dumb question, because I'm sure you don't. But the past or recent players and who have played for Akina and and I'm sure you would have played, you would have loved to play for him. Well,
it's funny. So the year I got injured, he was supposed to come in and he was supposed to be the defensive backs coach and I think he got here and so that we were you know, injury riddled, and because our coaching staff was you know, on the hot seat, I think he kind of you know, reassessed what he wanted to do, and then Texas came back in with a huge offering. So apparently, you know, a week after he came in, he got right back on that burnt orange
plane and got the hell out of there. And I thought that that was smart, just because we had literally nobody coming back. We had a bunch of guys go to the NFL, and we had a bunch of freshmen that we're going to be playing, So it would have been a headache for a guy that's one of, you know, arguably one of the better defensive back coach coaches that's college football's ever seen. So yeah, I would have loved to play for him. It's just you know, hey, you know,

Hey, welcome back to I on the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Rivera, He's Andy Brown, and we have one with some more breaking news.
Yeah, so with Arizona softball catcher slash designated player Olivia DiNardo announces that she wants to transfer. Yeah, another one. She'll probably go somewhere with three or four letters. His hint, hint there, Yeah, and we'll see someone's probably still playing in the tournament maybe, Okay, And then there was a couple of other things, right, Yeah, so track and Fields for Arizona has sending six athletes to the NCAA Championships. Yeah, which is which
is great. Yeah, we had a great all around sports years. Oh, okay, we go. We talked about You've talked about that with us right away. We kind of grade grade the year one to ten on the overall grade that the sports program. I'm looking at eight and a half nine. I mean, yeah, we were. We were eight point one point two before the football, before the baseball and softball and then all this stuff
was So I think Jay and I are about a nine right now. I would agree lack of you know, hey, ten, but would have made it at least a bigger one. But let me tell you, because you you were here at this time or right before the great times, the nineties were fantastic, right They finished highly, highly in the Series Cup or the Director's Cup. They're not at that level right now, but it was a heck of a year to compare to that. Yeah, I mean that was
ninety three to ninety four. Was festival champion and final four. That was a good year. Ninety eight football was pretty good. There was on basketball team until lead eight. Uh, there's a lot of things to like. Softball was very good. Yeah. Oh no, teams did well this year. Gona be happy. I'm gonna ask you a question after Juan comes up with a couple more or one more? Right? Yeah? So the two Song super Schools play a game tomorrow against the Duke City Gladiators. Uh,
six oh five and TCC. So are they what times tomorrows games? Baseball? Seven o'clock? It's one in seven. Yeah. So now you're starting having competing efforts here with sports teams. I saw just now that the regional here are allowed because it's gonna be so hot, they're allowing your own water, right, you can take your own water. Uh, that's pretty much standard is always louding bring in your water. Oh okay, okay, the
desert, it's like the water. So so you work these security things at the games, right, security things, you know, Yes, that's your job. Any any sport tougher than the other. And then you don't know, you don't do specifically, you you don't everything. We do everything, So just we do sports entertainment. Entertainment's the toughest entertainment is because there's a
lot more drinking involved in entertainment. You like concerts, concert, Yeah, concert a festival for instance, that's the toughest because that's an all day event and people are out in the hot heat all day long drinking not water. All right, not what they should be, but they're there all day. And country music is probably a little tougher them. So right, all right, and uh, what do you This is another dupe question. Do you guys have the authority? T authority? Two? What if Steve is kind
of loopy and you know, being obnoxious at one? We want to get you medical attention. Right, if you're loopy and you're not you're not being right. We want to get medical to look at you and go, yeah, this guy's just drunk, but I'm loopy, loopy from too many, too many drinks. Yeah, then we try to get your ride home. So you know what, you're a danger to yourself and other people at this moment, and we're gonna ask you to leave. And that's the phrase.
I mean, there's a lot of drunk people inside, but to themselves, they're not a danger yet, but you are now a danger to yourself and other people, and we're gonna kindly ask you to leave. We're not giving you your keys and letting you drive home, though, we're gonna find you. Who'd you come with? Where's your buddy? Yeah? Did you have any friends? And I don't have any friends. Well that's why you're loopy. So we get your dry, we get your ride home, but you
in an uber, we get you in a taxi. We make sure you get homesick. Yeah that's smart. Yeah, yeah, that's smart. Who's expense? You know what? It's usually mine really for the venue. It's it's most people. I got uber. I can do it myself, like, okay, right in, But there's once in a while we've had to pay for him. Sure. Yeah, well good on you. I'd rather you get home safe. Sure, and that, like you said, not just your life, other people's life exactly. Yeah, that makes sense.
Okay, Uh, anything else? Do you want to talk about? Baseball? Baseball? Ball, man, I'm excited. I hope they do well tonight. You know, I'm not a big baseball fan per se, but I do love when Arizona's in it. At the end of the year Regionals. I I really can't stand Major League Baseball. I just don't watch it because I don't know. Not enough scoring, I don't know. She must hate soccer. I could never hit the ball. It's probably why I could
never play baseball, so I never got into it. I was a football basketball guy. But you are a UFC guy. I love you. Tomorrow is a big night, big night. Yeah, Dustinloye ain't gonna fight. And for those who don't remember this or or may have forgotten, he's the guy to beat up Connor McGregor. Connor McGregor come up two three years ago and give him the ankle injury or whatever foot injury knocked him out the first time, broke his leg the next time. Yeah, and then and then
lost the next time. Well, it's got it's tough men to stay hungry in that game. I think it's just like anything. It's tough. What do you mean, you're getting your butt kicked? Yeah, you need to stay tough. Well, no, but you've been at the top. If you're your top, when you're at the top of that level, it's a hungry to stay there is tough. Yeah, but yeah, because they're like maybe I'll sleep in the day, maybe I won't run an extra mile to
day. So I think that's what happens to all of us called the Buster Douglas routine. Buster Douglas, you knocked out the best guy in the world. Yeah, we don't have to prove anymore now I can go right yeah, right, No, It's that's tough when to stay on top. Yeah, so that's such should be a nice night of fighting. Yeah, seeing people beat the crap out of each other. I like the because there's short
fights. You got three rounds or five rounds. It's not fifteen or twelve or whatever they used to be, right boxing, and there's you know who wins. I mean, it's tough to say the cars, say fifteen thirteen. They either you're you're getting off the floor and you've just been knocked out. Yeah, most of them in with a pretty distinct winner. Yeah,
the most part. Right, Uh, you went to another you go to a a number of them here, right, sure, But in Vegas you must have gone to a few of those big fights, the big fights. Yeah, we actually host them at Thomas and Mack. Ye biggest fight, biggest fight probably we did a Tyson fight. We did a holy Field and Rick Bow. Oh that was a good fight. We did a I Coarte
and Caesar Chobbings, I think fight. There were some good ones at Thomas and Max Center Back and then yeah, the ones I went to I went to before they all the casinos built their own stadiums or they used Thomas were I went to a couple of one to De la Hoya, Dela Hoya and Mayweather. But that was m M I think uh and some of the other
ones. George Foreman and when he when he upset when he came back and he said, Cooper, I think it was Cooper amazed at how many entertainers love boxing, and oh, it's the place to be and you see him right on the side, you know, right on the side of I mean,
there's no better place to be than at a boxing event. We created a whole red carpet area for those events, and they were like, you guys are coming down the trash shoot like you know, we dressed up, but you guys are in the back back house, right, But that's what they wanted to come in, right carpet, put in some queen palms and who was the who was the who's the rider guy? Oh yeah, yeah, yeahs he was always there. The guys from Saved by the Bell.
What was that guy's name? I oh just uh yeah, the blonde guy, the other guy, No, not that, oh yeah or yeah, yes, god, Mario Lopez Stallone. Those guys are always always coming down. That was amazing. How many of those guys come out of the woodwork. Yeah, I'm a good fight. Do you have? This is a dumb question. You probably should not have been doing this. Any cool autographs. No, I'm not an autographed guy, like I really wasn't. I'm not impressed by you or you know, to the point where I need your
autograph, Well then you're not asking for mine. No, I don't need unless you're write me a check. Never mind, never mind those the other way. And I think that's why I'm good at my job. Is I've never really cared to Yeah, you know, I'm not on audio point. You know, I'm like, you're another dude, you're getting from your car to the stage. I'm here to help you, you know what. And that's how you're supposed to look at it. Yeah, and that's I've never been that guy. Oh my god, it's so Yeah. Yeah, I'm
not anymore. In fact, I've told the story a few thousand times. I'm not a sports fan because of because of that, I've run into some bad sports guys. Yeah, I mean there's some people. I was like, you know what, I like what you do? You know, the guy I think the world is Steve Kerr, and he's that guy you know when he's you know, never signed stuff. But sure, uh, you know other guys just who are just good guys. Yeah, No, there's
a lot of those. There's some bad ones, and there's some entertainers that run across. I'm sure you met those guys, the bad ones and just kind of didn't give people to tell you and you saw him in fans didn't give him time a day. Yeah. And the guys that have done it for years and years and years are the guys that sign autographs for hours or talk to people for hours and they don't get anything from them. Well, you mentioned Bill Bolton earlier in the same way he stayed to stay for Garth
Brooks was one of those guys. Garth would sit around and we did a three day special for HBO at Thomas and Max Center, and he every day came the same way he did the same stuff, talked the same people, and the last day he came through and he gave everybody something. Hey, thanks for working all my shows. Here's some drumsticks, Hey, here's a here's an autograph. Whatever. And he went around and talked to all those people that ran elevators, that did escalators, that did tickets, that whatever
it was, cleaned the dishes or set out the food. He said, hey, thank you for working all three days. And you're like, I really like that guy. I hate country music, but I love that dude. Yeah. Like I'd like to marry that guy. Run. Yes, you would be a perfect cut. You are a country dude to me, that's what I'm born and raised in Indiana. Dude, Bloomington, Indiana. I was a Bobby Knight guy. Wow, when did dad go south? When my dad and mom moved out to Tucson, so we moved, we
left Bloomington and eighty three, same year Loot came out from Iowa. Okay, So my dad said you were seven. I was eleven. Ten to eleven okay, ten, Yeah, but you gave me when you're ten. You don't know about Bobby Knight or do you know my dad goes if it's good enough for Ludolson, it's a good enough for us. Yeah. No, but I'm telling you to growing if you were Bobby Guy, I just know it was Indiana basketball. Okay, that makes sense. That was Indiana
basketball. He is new. But everybody's like outside, it's kind of like Arizona. People outside of Arizona like, oh my god, Arizona's right, Like we've had a discussion before, blue blood. Arizona's blue blood. Well, everybody outside thinks they are. I don't know about that. We we had what about Indiana? Are they No? And Arizona is yes, you're crazy? Did you come what's that? Yeah? What's that? You're going in the wrong direction. I don't know, man, I don't think you
could ever get better than the Bobby Night years that were there. They were they were there, are blue blood. They're not a blue blood. They're not. Back to the Indiana game was always fun to watch. I've always stepped my dollar that one to watch it. Those two teams just dislike each other, two programs going in the wrong direction. Sure, we'll see how Babow does out there. Did you know did you talk to bollow at all? No? No, I had an exmotions about them. No, no,
Ye couldn't hit free throw. Yeah again, it's that jumper. He can't go to the NBA because he can't hit a jumper. Yeah. His shot was horrible. Yeah, it was that push shut Yeah, like that's horrible, man, it's a shot. It's not an NBA shot, not an NBA show. Yeah. Yeah, I was surprised he left though. Uh. Yeah, I was surprised to give them the relationship he had with Yeah, but it was a mutual decision. Yes, it was go ahead, son, go ahead and go. I think a lot of that's making
room, yeah, very much. So. Yeah, we have other guys who will benefit more base management. Yeah, and Indiana's gonna love him. Yeah, you know the great coach out there too. You think Winston's a good coach. I think so. I don't. We're disagreeing a lot, right, But I didn't get your check this week. I didn't get your check this week. So you're a good guy. I can pull it back and it's already been pushed. It's already been pushed. You don't waste any
time, dude. You get lights to pay, get lights to pay extra one to get in right now. Yes, sir, Yes, you can have my two dollars. That's funny stuff. Well, thanks for coming in. We got to have you in again. Well you know when Jay goes whenever Jay goes on his cruises or yeah, you know, trying to get down to Mexico for months and man, been too busy. I haven't gone in forever. They miss you down there. I'm sure they do. They do, won't won't let me back in. That's why I don't go.
I don't even have a passport. You don't need past They sure, sure, they definitely wouldn't. I mean, sorry, sir, you're cleaning dishes over there. Sorry, you're gonna help you build the wall strong arms. Yeah, no, you're not gonna build anything. You're sports. Oh you can go back. You offer us nothing, You offer us nothing. Man, We got one quick call. Let's see what this is. We got a minute and a half. Aw you're on the air. On the ball.
You got about thirty seconds. Hello, Hello, you got about thirty seconds. Oh, Hi, my name is Bart and I'm calling about a discharge card. I'm bad. Oh sorry, you get the wrong number. Well this is a radio show. Yeah. Sorry, that's awesome. Yeah, that was probably our best call in a while. That's what was you keep that number? Call it back? Call it what's what was she looking for? Something about it? Something discharged? Something order? Okay from like
calling the hospital? That sound like important stuff? Yeah another doctor, Yeah, but give you a call back. Hey, okay, Well thanks for coming in. Thanks man. Having a great weekend, Well it was great. Good luck this year each other again. Yeah one, that's a good guy. I don't know if he picked the right profession. He's working for free. Yeah, well he's picked the right profession for us. Yeah. Thanks everybody for listening. We'll see you on Monday. I have another great
guest. Uh maybe even and who knows. Okay, thanks everybody, have a good weekend.
