This is I I'm the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzalez on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. Subscribe now to the podcast on the iHeart Radio app Just Surgery. I I'm a bar Hey. Welcome back to All About Here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty. I'm Steve Rivera, He's Andy Brown, and we have our guy Jason with breaking news. The twenty twenty A U eighteen U eighteen European Championships begin this Saturday. Um Arizona Men's incoming freshman Conrad Moore teams will

be playing for teams Fame okay in the in the championship games. How do you guys think he's going to be performing? Yeah, I don't. I don't know. I haven't really seen much of him, but but it's gonna be an amazing dynamic with so many UH international players. And then the good thing is, did you guys go on you go into Australia? Did No? I wasn't on the team. Man. No, he's still trying out. Oh were you okay? So they didn't take you well when we came

back. Coach Rosboro knew they were gonna be short when they came back. There's a lot of kids stayed on the team. Did you go to Australia? They got back to him, dropped, who um, yeah, oh the rights guy. No Jarvis Kelly, No, no, no, Jarvis was a freshman. I was there. So it was one of the Bohanans. Edric. Oh, you're not gonna believe this, m and um the local Um. Okay, it's funny, Edric Mohan. Okay, this name out of the blue. So we're in Vegas for the PAC twelve tournament,

uh in in March. Here's this dude. I said, I don't know this dude. I know what Tony was Andre Drummond. We're playing Parker. Did he finally talked about because I ran into him and I said to Reggie, I said, I ran into Edrick. Here's his photo and here's his number. Yeah, we ran into him at the dail outside. That was um that Saturday or Friday, because I had talked to him Thursday. You know what, that was actually New Orleans. I thinks, okay that because

it was Vegas, it was New or Okay, that makes sense. They all run together Vegas. But it could have been. I saw him, I said, I know. Then we started talking and then what we did you know? This was late tonight, very what do you do? What do you do? And I said, well, come soon, and he says, oh yeah, and then we talked and then he says, oh, yeah, do you remember who's the starting who the freshman? The freshman

dies right JB. But but he was one of the freshman And I said, miss Sean Allen and he kind of nodded Drick Bohannan and then he smiled and this say, is you're Edric boh Yeah, so I took his spot. Yeah, big, total sense. Dude is big. The dude is big. He was skinny back then, but now he's big, like a good big WI fit into his uniform. They went and measured me. That's why I know I was on the team. Really, Coach Rosin will san Diegos and you need to go see that's funny. Did you thank you when

you saw in Jordan say thanks for leaving that. I just got my mouth. Good play, good player too. Yeah, it was that's a that's a blast from the past. I'll try to get him on the show, but he was the one to come up. Yeah, I get radios on the show. Oh dude, that's that's another that's another chopper comment. Can't find him. He does, yeah, but he's he don't want any part of this. Maybe we'll get him. We've talked about the day lunch.

We talked about I'm sorry about boring you there, Jason Big let me tell you, and we're kind of reminiscent, but you talking about Colid not saying saying stuff. If ray Os talked, yeah, you had to pick it because the dude was The dude was a tough dude behind the scene. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so if you know, if you pissed him off he was playing with ray ray was fun to play in the in the rec center. We can go down there and he had that twelve foot jumper twelve

feet above the rim and he'd still catch him. But he had that twelve foot jumper down. He was smooth. Yeah, nothing flashy, you just get that stuff done. Yep, it was good. Many Okay, some national news. The Panthers number one overall pick Bryce Young has agreed to his four year, fully guarantee thirty seven point nine million dollar contract and he's going to have a twenty four point six million dollars signing bone is upfront. Lo. Yep, do you make about that, don't you? No w working

at the casino del so with the concert. Come on, I haven't seen a million dollars now appearing, now appearing? Uh, what's his name? George Lopez? Fu's coming to Yeah, good shows out there? Okay. The New York Jets reportedly would be shocked if Aaron Rodgers doesn't play in twenty twenty four. Well, he's got to play in twenty twenty three. First, yes, how do you guys feel about him not wanting the Hard Knocks Netflix or show? Like? Yeah, you're not wanting them to record um

their team? You guys know, I haven't thought about that anything. No, I don't. I don't know, man, it comes with I mean, the guy likes to be in the media line. So it's kind of a what I don't believe what you're saying time? Right, So so I think you're saying that to be in the med Yeah maybe, Okay? Do you you? I don't want you to give away any secrets because you're close to you guys, But he's Rogers is kind of different, right, He's

he's kind of different. It's smart dude. When he's in the room, he wants to make sure I don't know if he wants to make sure he's the smartest student the room, but he's that guy. Yeah, you have any former guys like that? I can't stay off top me like that. But no, that's a great question. I was just worried about fit. Yeah, and your guys in ninety four, you know JB and those guys. Uh, you know, Corey is just good dudes. They're all good

du They all have their quirks. Everybody had their quirks. I remember doing it. Actually did a paper on superstitious things that like players do and like why they do them. It was all based on sports psychology, right, like why do you do what you do? It's because gets you in that routine and get your mindset. But every I went around and talked to every guy, I'm like, you do what you do? What? Yeah, I'm not putting that up. What did you touch the loop? No?

He has one hit the popcorn. He always had a bucket of popcorn and we always had in a gum, different gums, red and blue gum. You know who knew that, Ryan Hanson, because Red handsOn was the guy bringing the bucket of popcorn. And it sucks. He's always lifting his socks, and I always got the gum. Oh did you know any blue? And he red C GPA and gum. That's how many timehouse we got. You got too fouls. That's what I was painting. I was. I was told that's what I had to know. I hadn't member. I got

the sheet right the Scottering report. I went right to the back. We're all a good summer? Was like, did you who do we foul? So? Did you ever not wear your uniform? I always wore it. No. I was told, don't ever not wear it because you because a chance you're gonna get in there. That happened to a couple of dudes. That was my warning. And they told me, hey, the guy before you didn't wear his pants and he was good. They pushed her to put him in. I didn't get taped that Michigan game when I got in,

So I've told you that. Yeah, okay. A veteran free agent, Melvin Garden, reached in agreement jae for a one year deal worth up to three point million dollars with the Baltimore Ravens. So it's kind of, you know, strange for him to get a deal when there are other running backs on the market. Who can't get you know, any kind of contracts extension. But so I'm like Melvin Garden, can you know, get three million Ravens? So how big are you? I am sixty six sixty six?

What would you play at two thirty five to thirty do you? I know you're a good dude. So this is an obnoxious, dumb question that I asked every now and again. Do you crush your dad? Every now saying? Dad, how come you could have been more athletic so I could have maked millions because my mom was the most athletic parent I had. She was the one out there. No, No, because you know you're a big

dude. You had the size, the frame. I do wish maybe they would have pushed more, like I didn't have parents that pushed as much as but then you did, you know what, No, because you'd be now fifty one years old. He pushed me too hard. You know, there's there's that get take there's a fine line. I don't think I was quite at it. I think I could have got pushed more. But you know

what you're doing? Okay anymore? The Giants signed why receiver call Beasley um he's going to be reuniting with Brian Dable, his former offensive coordinator with the Bills, and they're gonna be getting another photographer, Daniel Jones. The Giants also signed former Jets and briefly Patriots running back James Robinson to a one year deal as well, So kind of loading up there for Danna Daniel Jones shaking up, going, well, are they getting ready? Who the Giants?

Yeah? Giants? Yeah, because Is Barkley's not coming back. I mean he's he's running back, he's holding holding out. So they're bringing in some I don't get that. I don't get there. You guys get that. You know, here's the team. Here's the team that's giving you a lot of money over a short amount of time. Yeah, and then you're just saying hell with you because you don't want to do this. Also, this

is no loyalty. Well here's the deal though that stephen A or somebody they said he is he was like forty just forty percent of the offensive output, Yeah, from him, one player, but he's not paid that way. So in that aspect, I agree, And like you needed to pay what you do right, because um, I don't remember the exact numbs for Daniel

Jones contract you just got or he's trying to get. But this is was this past year was Daniel Jones' first like real like pretty good season, but the years prior was because of Sakuan kind of leading the Giants kind of get him to this point until Davo just came to the team and kind of got

to them the playoffs again. So I feel like, you know, se Quan is kind of just like you want to be paid what he's worth, keeping the Giants relevant, keeping them, you know, keeping that offense you know, going, but you know they're not even like entertaining a new contract and they're gonna pay you know, Daniel Jones, who really just had like one good season, like forty mailing per year around that. So, yeah, you take away forty percent of your offensive output. How do you replace

them? Well, you'll get some of you guy who who who puts in thirty percent? Because you don't lose all of it. You have a guy who does some of it. Still, you know, it's like you approven that guy's approven though, Yeah, true, true, And if how many times as a guy hold out and then he won, he gets hurt, like the first game. Bag he's hurt now and he got all his money. That was a lot, yeah, especially running backs. UM. After twelve seasons in the NBA, Kemba Walker is going to be playing overseas.

He signed a one year deal with UM the A as Monico Basket for the twenty twenty twenty fourth season. So Kemba Walker, Yeah, well UM Stephen A. Smith confirms reports that he will be UM. He wants to work with Dennis Sharp on first stake. So that's pretty cool to see. Wow, yeah, that should be pretty interesting. A lot of yelling. Yeah, I don't do you like that type of right now early in the morning, just two to three guys yelling back and forth at each other. It

doesn't make sense. Just have a conversation. Yeah, oh that's not good TV. That's true. Conversations. Well, PTI gets to it. They do a good job. We're doing a good job here yelling. You're bigger than me, so great, don't hurt me. Why I couldn't I could come in here? Yeah, yeah, who's this dude? Get him off the show? Ninety one one coming, push the chairffs back and do some off the road. You running around? Oh my goodness, all right,

that's why the breaking is I have for that. Can anybody here what Steve Young is doing? Now? I guess you got a new job after every fired at espn't really yeah he got fired. Yeah, suppose that is. They didn't want to pay these guys. But it's funny. They're trying to do some Disney Disney their own by Disney. Not enough people going to see Disney. Laugh, you know, how can you afford it? Come on these tickets, you go to these events and uh, luckily they pay you

to go to these events. Yeah. Um, I've paid to go to a few and it's for dicul. Yeah. Yeah, like that Morgan Wallen guy last night. I'm sure those tickets were not cheap. My daughter went to see uh Taylor Swift much seven hundred that much but still, I mean we used to go to concerts with seven dollars, ten dollars, twenty five dollars. Now that's one hundred and sixty seven to get in the door, and that's not even that's and then service feeds on top. Now you're two

hundred and fifteen bucks in well, you were in Vegas. I mean you gotta buy a T shirt. That's seventy five dollars. You don't even have sleeves on it. You don't gotta buy that. But you went, you were lived in Vegas. Aint, come on, what's up of these resort fees? So you can use the facilities? Just hey, don't don't make me pay for those. I won't use the percentage I want. I don't want to go to the pool. Well, I don't want to use the

resort. I'm just gonna be taking a nap. No. Well, then they cut you on the stair, like, Okay, we're not gonna clean your room unless you jealousy, right, right, You're only going to clean it every three days. Right, I'm only here two days, dude. It's living tough time, Jason. Yeah, you're lucky to be getting out of the you know, if are you, i'd go to grad school, grad school, get get out more. Yeah, because it's not fun in the real world. This real world. Along. We'll tell your dad,

this is my advice. Yeah, he'll probably call me and said, you're paying for exact. You gotta find a job. I'll pay for your grad school. Right. Yeah, that's the thing. Daughter's working on that right now as a nurse. So they will pay. She graduated, she's actually been a nursing year. My son's in the next month. Yeah, so she's got a place now that they do that super imperent education. Yeah great, I should go back. Well that was an evil laugh, you know.

Okay, let's take a break. We're kind of boarding people here. Uci back. It will talk more. Hopefully we'll get some calls from people talking stuff about the Pac twelve or whatever you guys want to talk about.

I know it's just die no calories. Okay, Hey my diet. Hey anybody want to call him? Please do make this show interesting please five two four six seven zero. It's interesting. Yeah, Jason's talking more than he's ever talked about, which is good. Yeah, se Udja to leave, I know, just talking to much. That

was the problem. Yeah, you hate the first person to say that. Well, let's talk about USC and that's so who wasn't Yeah, why will they're fans? Are They're wonderful when they live, when they leave when they've lost, I mean, just love brothers. Are you're talking about basketball? Basketball? Yeah, when they spit at you and we love it. When we send people away from Michale that I've lost and they are, I mean,

it's just like losing an as. We hate losing them there. But I'm gonna miss that because people, it's a different level of excitement or energy in that crowd. From a security standpoint, it raises where it alertness goes way through the roof. There's just more energy right when La shows up. There no question about that. Football football. You do football games as well, right, Yeah, So how's that even though the crowds aren't as great

as they should be. No, it's still good. There's still and there's still a lifted energy when those teams come in, the teams that you know the US season UCLAs, they show up, people show up to watch, right, Okay, So let me I have an unrealistic host here, co host here. Jay is the fan in the room. Jay, He'll admit that, would you. Yeah, we argue and we don't argue, but we are different. I'm not the fan in the room and you're you're hometown guy. He's a hometown guy. Uh, where was I gonna go with

this? Oh? Is Arizona Apple? Is Arizona more of a basketball town or a football town? I know the answer from you. But does it have the potential to be more football if it were to be successful? Yes? What's People like winners? People support winners, but they're they're doing school. So you think more fans? Would you gravitate too? Well? I don't think. I think you're talking about two different things. It's not the same pie. You're not gonna lose basketball fans because you grow football. You're

you're You're not. The pie is getting bigger instead of sharing the same pie. So I think making football bigger only helps basketball. Look at Alabama's got great basketball, great football. Yeah, basketball, yeah, but that's They've always been a football yeah, but recently they have. Alabama's got some great basketball teams, and it just grows the pie bigger. And I think it helps the whole university when you make both of those as big as they can

be. Well, of course, of course, So let me ask you, twelve year old little Andy Brown, should I say twelve year a little well seven was like six old twelve six. Okay, so the little Dandy Brown, Hey dad, mister mister Brown, what's your Disney? Donald Brown? Donald Brown? You have a chance to go to the Rose Bowl or mister Brown or the Final four? What's little Andy Brown want to do? Most Final Four? I grew up in India, see yeh do you pants? Who? I grew up in Ja. Jay is convinced that this town's

gonna go to the Rose Bowl like that, that's the priority. When that happens, they were shotting the lights off and everybody's leaving this town to go to LA right if they go to the Rose Bowl? Yeah, oh yeah, sure, absolutely, yeah, I'm right there. I'll be leaving it. But for you, it's the final four. The Final four is where I want to go. Yeah, but I would love to support a team that goes to the Rose Bowl. That would be fun, and that's all

right my hope. Optimistically as an alumni, though, I want to see our football team to go. Well, oh you're a basketball you're a basketball school. Well we're trying right, Yeah, So no, I think we can get there. I think Jay's on the right and I think it's there. You mean, j Jas's doing the right thing, He's doing it the way he's supposed to. So so um, so do in your job as one of the bosses at eighteen you get close to I'm sure you knew Dick

Toomy. I knew him mostly through my brother who played okay, so he has some great stories about telling me okay. So I just wanted to do how you deal with the coaches? So, uh, Stoops? Were you working here when stoops stoops? Yes? How was he? And in terms of did you get close because they're different they know every all these coaches are different, but in your capacity, did you have to deal with them in terms of bodyguarding them? Or different guys had different ways, they wanted different

things. So I think tell me was that, Hey, I wanted to I want to I don't want a police officer. I just want to write a guy. And then you have guys that wanted the police. Came from a different sec or that kind of area where they wanted the cop next, and they wanted the police officer with them. Yeah, so you have that. I don't know if it's ego or if it's just how things that were done when I was at other places, but you know, Alabama's always got

to have a cop there next to what's his name so so. But that's I think it comes from how coaches are in other systems and how they were taught. To me was a down to earth guy. Right, It's like, I just want a guy. It's someone, someone, um someone. At that time, he just went with the flow. I was like, we got comps. Okay, okay because the guy before hiatic so everybody anyway,

it got the stuce. They put a police officer there, and then that just rolled into rich Rod. He wanted a police officer there, and then someone was like, yeah, whatever, I'll take it. Yeah, Jed's you know what, Jed doesn't say one way or the other. But he's more of a tomy guy than just a normal good dude, a normal dude. Every time I see him, I say hello to him. He's he doesn't I mean, doesn't come off as I'm tight or I'm above you. Right. He has time for people, which is great. Yeah,

people come up to him and talk to him. I've always seen him interact with fans, you know, in the lobbies and wherever he's at, and he's no ever I've never seen him brush people. He's always very genuine. Tell me was the same way two son is that town though, Yeah, exactly, we need to be that guy for this town. I think Tommy Lloyd's got that characteristic and I think, what are your impressions with Tommy?

I love them. I love the way coaches are, like the way he plays the team he plays he does and he scores and he lets kids play. Yeah, right, lets him make some mistakes. But yeah, I love watching it and it's yeah, I'm excited about this year. You Oh god, I'm trying to go back ninety four that was your senior year. Yeah. So the ninety three you played, two years I played, No, I played one year. You were part of the first round losses of ninety three year ninety five. Um, how did that sit? This last

year? That was brutal. I had turned the TV off. I turned it off at half time. I we're not really never up. I dick ten off. You saw it already, Yes, Because the guard play, you have to have guards that can take it to the hole and score it finish. Ye was gonna have one guard that could finish at the rim. Now, towards the end of the season, Boswell was pushing it, but it wasn't. It seemed like he wasn't his quite his place yet, right freshman to take that over, And I wish maybe he would have, and

I think this year he will. Yeah. Yeah, Timmy didn't ask that of him. No, and I don't think it was his spot either, but you could tell there were glimpses of it. Yeah, No, he's that guy. But when you had the other guys try to go to the rim and finish, they just couldn't. Yeah, they get scared. I mean time to dribble in the lane's Yeah, especially against a good methodical team. Once. Once we made that run through the Maui Classic and through the

preseason tournaments and games. You're talking about ninety four this year, this this past year, right this past year, Um, people have understood the guards can't go the rim. So we're just gonna lay back instead of jumping and having him lob it over our head. And one of our two big guys' oh yeah, okay, there you go. Heny, thanks for calling I in the ball. What's up? Yeah, I was just calling in. Andy actually told me I should call in, So I just wanted to call

in, and it was just to say is this Andy? Is me? Buddy? How you doing? Hey, buddy, I don't have anything. I don't have anything earth shattering to share. I just wanted to call and say, you guys are doing a good job. Well, okay, you're the parish Parish played ball at rink on a little bit before me. Both of the better guys. Okay, um, both just learned to play basketball

the right way, to hard, noseway taking charges. So Parish, when when when Andy was on the UVA basketball team, were you thinking how did this happen? No? I wasn't. Actually he was always a hard worker, good basketball play way better than I was. Uh, just a good guy. So I was not surprised at all. Okay, risk good guy in town? Or what did you do? What do you do? Parrish? You're doing? Still doing? I actually worked for a tired just every

they're here in town? Okay are you still doing? And I referee basketball as well? Well, I've done all. I've done high school some juco, but I actually stepped away from the high school juco stuff about two thousand and eight. Let me ask you something, because that's a profession, that's a thankless profession. It's a brutal profession. You don't get a pet on your back because you're making bad calls. I mean, I mean, I'm

being being honest because people don't appreciate you guys. Well, I think they're biased. I mean I think they're obviously and they're bested in their team and they want everything to go their team's way. They don't really look at it from a balanced perspective like we have to. But it is. It's a tough profession. But I've met a lot of great people doing it. And the kids I watch, I sometimes start refer them when they're you know, seven, eight, nine years old, some of them going to play high

school, some of them even going to play college. Who in your time as being a ref, who is the best high school kid you saw play? Wow? Uh, there's a few of them that come to mind. In one class in two thousand and eight, I believe that group, there was a few of them. Mike Perez played at Pueblo, Bryce Cotton was at Paula Verdi, Terrell Stokeland was at Santa Rita, and my nephew, uh, Brandon Burnett was at Siena. And those are pretty good ball players,

right. No, the Stockland kid and then the guys you mentioned, they all went on somewhere I mean Maryland, I think Maryland one. Yeah, I believe. I believe Bryce went on to play at Providence. Uh, Terrell went on to play at at Maryland. My nephew played at Indiana State, and Mike I believe was at Utah for a little bit. Wow. Nice. Yeah, Tucson kind of produces some guys every now now the radar. Yeah, that's right, right, okay, all right, well

thanks for calling man. Thanks all right. Yeah, say a good job to Steve. And then when Jay's there, you got to do a good job and he's, uh, he's pulling his way today, so that's good. Well, thank you for listening, par I appreciate it. Thank you. No, good cool, I'm glad he listens. Thank you. Do you have time to listen to this when you're not Yeah, I usual you and you send out who's going to be on? I want to listen? Like okay, yeahs make sure I put it on. He's always on it

and am it's always on for you? Yeah? Okay, cool, go on your ads man, you get your ads on that too. Make sure you're playing them. We have our guest guy today, Andy Brown from the eighteen, one of the big sponsors, and Jason. But that's final fifteen minutes. If you guys want to call, please do five two zero four one

So let's make the next fifteen minutes go by fast. All right, Well, that's nothing faster than let's talk about women's soccer. Oh you know, yes, we got to support the ladies tonight. They're yeah, they're in. That's it's kind of breaking news. Deplinity. Yeah, lay to night six right, they're the favorite to win it all again.

Three be awesome, wasn't it. Yeah, sir, we'll see what happens. That's more popular than the man the minute have not done. So I've heard a lot of griping from local establishments that may support sports on TV and sell some beverages that it's in Australia. The times really goofy. Yeah, and there's a not a lot of time, especially back East where you're playing it midnight. Yeah, they want to watch him, but they just can't. But yeah, it doesn't drive people to the bars, okay,

because the timing is Yeah. And then back in the day when you know, we used to have they used to tape them on them back but now the internet, you already know the score. Everything's live. Yeah, So that's why why I watch it. I watch it, but I think let me be great for them. Though bars can switcher hours. Yeah, well then you gotta deal with licensing that. Do you think god mean if they did repeat, what do you think would mean? I don't. I don't

know. That's a good question. Maybe get a calling next to me. Repeating isn't easy for any anything. They are the favorite to do it. Yeah, they are the favorite to do it. Yeah, we'll see what I like. I like having Rodman's daughter on there. Yeah, very athletic. Yeah, a powerful score, that's I think that's awesome story. Alex Morgan, the rest of them. Yeah, I want to watch. I'll watch it absolutely, y'all watch some of the two. I watched them starving.

I mean, I'm not a baseball guy. I can sit and watch baseball. Yeah. Well, we have the subject. We're subject to the Dodgers here because j J. Yeah enough. Yeah, yeah, Dodgers blah blah blah every day, every day. Well, and I'm I was excited when people started reporting the camps this week. Are you a big fan? Are you a big fan of any of this? I love watching football. Yeah, but you're like, now though, now the camps and the dot

step and the BS and you know, yeah, I do. I like that behind the scenes posturing, and how do you get teams here and there and there's always somebody thinks they're doing something that's your team. I'm a harness, I'm a homer. Really eighty eight you got here at eighty eight? How old were you an eighty eight? I wasn't even well, I was. I wasn't even hearing What do you mean? Oh? I was fine set to eighty three. Move here in eighty three. Okay, so you're

five. When I was when we moved here, I was twelve or eighty eight. I was sophomore in high school and then we I mean I grew up in Yea. We didn't have football that any son. It's been a tough laugh for you. It was always basketball. It was Bobby Knight basketball. It was you never played football. I mean Indiana Lee Corso was the coach when I Yeah, we know all that turned Yeah was he was? He kind of a different than too? Yes? Yeah, so always been.

Uh, I've always been a homer for the Arizona Cardinals just because they're in the state. Are they looking right now? Well, I don't know. Well, you know, there's a good question here. I saw earlier because Tyler Murray, who you saw Deandre's you know I'm gonna work hard number yea, And Murray kind of said the same thing a week before that. Who do you believe more? Who's gonna Who's gonna make it happen? Because because they're both, they're both kind of that got that stigma. Yeah,

they you said, Calibury, I think I think he has to. Yeah, I was like, I think he has That's why I think DeAndre does it. Dere. Someone will always give DeAndre shot because of his height and his ceiling right yeah. And Murray he can't grow kinda can't grow. Yeah, he is what he is. I mean, same with DeAndre. Dere is a big boy. And there's always a coach that says, I can make that. Your coach thinks they get that ego, right, they get

but think I get the magic. But football has always been your quarterback has to be this tall, has to be this his hands true. No, I've never liked that situation because he's he's running around like he's gonna get hurt anytime someone texts him, and it did and it does. Yeah. But that's the thing is he's not a prototypical size, and that's a stereotype.

So you're a Murray guy too, you think Murray. Yeah, he's running out of time at this point, like he's in a hoste right now, kind of has to perform or they might look, you know, elsewhere for a quarterback. Yeah, they've already is based on what he does. Well, he's got, he's got, he's living out this great contract he's signed last year for no reason. Yeah, I mean I didn't see it. I don't see it. Maybe it's you know what I think ruined it is.

Patrick Mahomes is such a phenomenal unicorn, right, Yeah, the guy can do things that are just have you guys been watching The Quarterbacks Netflix? Right? Oh? Yeah, I watch it. Watch following Maria Kirk and then Momes. Yeah, they're following all three of those guys who last year's deal and the bumps and bruises they take and what they do, and it's different. It's really cool. And that Patrick Mahomes, that dude. Oh he's different though. Yeah, I mean, come on, you see it.

He's just different. You see, he's the Michael Jordan. He's just different one on one like um and the Lebron or whatever. I mean, she may not be Lebron, but like Bryce Brice, the new guy at the new quarterback coming in, Um, tell me his first name, the number one guy, Bryce, the same type of you know, yeah, very athletic but shortish. Yeah yeah, yeah, well yeah, that's the first couple of practices, bouncing balls off people's heads, bound the back pass.

Yeah. But it's still it's that that position is going to change because of Patrick Mollan. You look back in fifteen years and he changed the game. It's like Curry in basketball. Yeah, absolutely, that guy's changed basketball. Everybody wants to shoot from half court now, sure, yeah, and everybody else. Yeah, game shots. I remember coach that game shots. Yeah. I went over and sat on the bench and clapped, that's my game. I remember him say to Channing chatting, your seven foot don't you

think that your shot is better suited for near the basket? Right? My high school coach told me, he said, you shoot and you can make eight out of ten. You can shoot from there, And he goes, all right, start where do you think you can make it for ten? I started for the top of the key and they like four, scoot in, no, no, take another step in, no, no, get closer, raise your handke touching that that's where you shoot. And did you make Kate? Oh, I made that. You can see if you did

make the eight, see the bench, you'll be clapping for me. You shoot, bro. Coach Levetda called at the house. I had a little house and shaped like a house. I sent in the two blocks, the upper block in the middle, and I was like, that's your home. You're shooting your home. You stay home a lot. Yeah I did so when I got me on the team, take your no. So yeah, well I mean that's why they're the coach, you're the player. Yeah, we go. So so let me let me ask you. This is kind

of stuff that I've never talked about. And you know, I'm throwing people under the bus. So who when you were the year and ninety four, which was a great year, great year first, so it's hard for looting not to you know, to get on people. So he was who was he the most frustrated with JB JB No, not so much, jably Clynn. No. It was usually a guy like Corey or Joe McClain or really

yeah, I didn't remember. I remember Kevin getting yelled at a lot, but yeah, because he always had to have that one guy you know what you did. And I think Kevin was just escape. Yeah yeah, but here's the deal. So I was saying, I'm just sitting on the side and it's final five and I'm sitting on the side because that's what I do. And uh, He's like, get out, Kevin, get out. He get in there, and I'd run out of the court and all happy to get in and kid was like, no, let's turn around, go

away. I'm not coming out. So I walked back and I'm like, what do I do. Let's just stop. Kevin never came out, had that he had that guy that he could get it. He did that with Ricky Anderson a lot. Just kind of got on him just to get on him. I tell you what. You didn't want coach yelling at you a

lot. But a lot of times it was we were doing a really intense, you know, ball jumped your man type of defense with those three guards, and that he'd always stop and get on Reggie and some of those guys by where they're supposed to be and go back because he would remember three plays and oh yeah, yeah yeah, and he's like, go back three plays from where we were, you know, and you go to the spot where you're you're supposed to be. Yeah, and he's like, you weren't there,

Reggie, where were you supposed to be? Like, yeah, where were you? And he was brilliant at that. Absolutely, he would remember that stuff like he was. He could see stuff for it happened, and he had a feel for the game. And I always tell us to everybody, like, what was the difference between coach and some other guys, And it was he had a feel for the game. Yeah, we had a game plan. It's on paper, and here's what's gonna happen on paper.

But when you get in a game and situations, you gotta be able to flex. You gotta be able to change midstream and pivot. And that guy could see it. He's like, oh, I see what they're doing, and he would do it. And there's some guys that just can't do that. But but that was a big difference. Well one of the reasons why, you know, and when Edric I didn't know that you were the guy

who he placed Edric. But he went from big with with the big guys, three big guys, to the smaller three guard offense and kind of transitioned into what it is today. The fast guard oriented move the ball. Of course, he had Damon, Damon Clin and Reggie uh. And then you know the complimentary players with JB and Corey and j Joe, Joe McLain. Ben Davis eventually came on as a great guy. Yeah, but you got your guys as camps coming up next month, Yes, month. I got

it on my calendar. I marked it. Good. Okaye. The check people harass people, yeah, yeah, yeah, no, you come on in, come on in. It's gonna be down sporting chance. Yeah. Yeah. Mike's mostly evolved now, I'm not really. Yeah, let's see, I'm just kind of free gay. Just publicize it. Yeah yeah, books write seals of books exactly. So no, no, it's a great time. I'm sure you missed it. I asked up Heath about missing the time, the good old days. You miss it, Yeah, missed those

the locker room stuff, the locker room stuff, just the camaraderie. And I've replaced it sense with the other groups I'm in now, which is great. Costs the centurions you, which I guess that's a there's a big difference. A difference one does the golf and one does a party. Makes sense and makes sense. Some of great guys, there's guys in both they cross, but that camarade you have to replace it or or you do go a little nuts, right. I think guys that don't replace it too, you

can sell. I mean it's there's something missing, right, But it's just getting around guys and talking. And I can sit with somebody in tough for hours like you, and my wife will go, what did you guys talk about? I don't know? Yeah, right, Well, but that's just dudes, that's men. You know women will you know, hey, how are you women to talk about everything? You know what they did today? Two dudes like you and me and you know this too, probably one time

six o'clock. Okay, be there a right, I mean, that's it, and we know what we're talking about. I told my wife I'm coming into the show and she's like, oh right, you love that. It's like two hours is just talking sports stuff normally. Right, Well, that's what you guys talk about today. I don't remember, you'll put it on the podcast. That's what we talked about. But that's kind of how this

show should be. It's that's what it is. Pretty much. We just kind of shoot the shoot the breeze, you know, insert your own word and and talk for two hours and have people call in and say, you know, okay, see you tomorrow. There's no agendas. We're just talking about. Yeah. We don't have any scripts to conversation we have. It's exactly if you and I talked about that. Yeah, yeah, know back home. I go back home and yeah, go to a place where I

grew up and blah blah blah, putting my butt on the stool. We'll go back to that same nineteen eighty two blah blah blah. Oh you remember that time, And that's a conversation. Just I'm sure you do that when you go out with the We talk about all girlfriends and I remember you were dating that girl, and I remember we used to go to that place. Yeah, trouble there, and we all talk about how not having cell phones back then saved a lot of Oh I'm sure, I'm very I'm very sure

about that. Yeah, yeah, times have changed because of all that. You careful, But we also liked have all gotten pain. And I l oh, sure, who's the dude that would have gotten the most? Oh man, I think I think a Corey would have done He would he would have sold himself. Corey and Reggie and Joseph Blair has done a great job. Now, Yeah, he is such a great promoter of his whatever. He's champion right right. But that's what makes him good at what he does.

He's a good communicator. People like him. In fact, ABROSI pulled me aside, I don't know, three four years ago at the camp. He said, you know who's gonna be good at this? And I said who? JB. Because he knows how to handle the people. Yes, he does. And people want to play for people want people want to do stuff, want to you know, they want to shine. He's personable, personable, he can be as, he can be serious, all that stuff you gotta. It's a right ranging thing. I think those guys would have

done well. Yeah, Colide would have been tough because he's not a really a spokesperson, but he's the face. He was the face. Yeah, but those guys that can talk and do it would have Yeah. Cool. I agree with you, the guys who like Corey. Corey does that now with krasting, Oh, I think Timy man, you were born about thirty da years to early no way. I'm happy where I am. I was born thirty years Thanks Mom, thanks that Hey, thanks for joining me.

I appreciate it. Thanks for your sponsorship as well. I always enjoy having you on the show. Of Relationship is a great little show. Yeah, thank you. Tell your friends, Tell your friends, Tell your boy uh Irish Arish Jarvis. Yeah, you tell your centurions. No, he's actually just no. No, tell your you gotta go, we gotta go see you. Thanks Jason
