Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzalez. They have their eye on the ball on Tucson Sports Stage yet Fox Sports fourteen fifty streaming live. I mean, iHeart radio WAPs. Hey, welcome back to my I in the ball here on Fox Sports torteen fifty. I'm Steve, He's Jay. Now we have sid with breaking news. Eye on the ball, breaking news all right, starting with the women's basketball news. Arizona women's basketball plays Washington State tonight at six home

game here. You know, I mean, are they I don't think they're tournament worthy? Steve No, No. She even talked about that. She was very candid on the press press conference, saying she needs to win a few games, obviously one or two in the tournament to even have a chance. You know, I'll due respect her, and I said this earlier this week. She's very shorthanded, whether it's her undoing or the team's undoing, or injuries undoing. Unlucky, unlucky. They are playing gritty. They are

they're playing gritty. Yeah, you know, I mean, they were they they they you know, they battled the USC for a while, but you clearly could tell that, you know, the numbers ran out. Sure, the numbers ran out for them the other night. Sure, and then the US. She does have one of the best players in college basketball. They kind of do. Speaking of good players, Kaitlyn Clark last night broke the U and still late Division one scoring record. I mean with that the transition

three from the logo fantastic. That was a hell of a shot. And she knew she scored all the first time. Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, she scored the first eight points to get it. Yeah, that's just show enough. But she was showing up and well, she knew it, she could do it. Her quote was something like, how could I not shoot from there? For the for the record, I mean, she's taking college basketball in general bastball. I mean they're getting huge crowds out there

to Iowa for her game, and the road and the road. Yeah, so well, the fun thing is you're going to have Curry and esc right, shoot. I want to have I would. Oh yeah, she may become one of the better shooters and in women's basketball history if her continent looks like it's going to continue into her pro career as well. A number of people have declared her the best player college women's college basketball player ever ever.

I don't know how much you ever paid attention to it. No, I haven't you know again the old recency bass because I remember Cheryl Miller Pretty Day Grinder was fantastic, Baylor right right, and then you have the girl from Age Bucker. I've never thought much of Paige Buker's. But then you had who's in that shootout with? No, but you can't list the list of

players. Yeah, they'd a bunch of them. Then you think about I mean, you know, yeah, So I don't know if you can declare I know Charles Barkley declared that today they don't they a m Come on, believe Charles Barkley picks on the sixty eight team never gets it right. Come on, just because Charles has as a the opinion, I'm gonna say, Okay, Charles, thank you. No, No, he's wrong. He's wrong in more than half the time. I don't come on, are you

gonna he's your he's your? I love Charles, Yeah, no, so why but come on, you know, just because he says me it's a good Hamburger doesn't mean okay, okay. Got some Arizona Man's basketball news with Christian Cloco going into the ring of honor on Saturday. That's interesting. That's because of Defensive Player of the year. Defense player. Then, so let me ask you this. Go ahead, and you go ahead or you be the comageing and maybe you won't be well, does he deserve it for this?

Here's the thing here, here's what I wish they. I just want to yes or no answer. So no, he doesn't. Okay, it is not now you explained it. Okay. I wish that instead of you do this, this, this, this or this and you're in right,

and like you know, like Josh Green is in right. It's like, we're just gonna look at your body of work and if it's a committee or three people or one person or whatever it says, you're in or you're not based on your overall achievements at Arizona, right, Because you know, why did it take so long to get Al Fleming in sure right? Why did it take so long to get Ernie McCrae in Why did it take so long to even get Bob Elliott in politics? Right? What's your body of work?

And and and some of these guys who are in you know, I don't think Ben Mathm deserves to be in because yes, he got, he got Player of the Year. But I feel like the ring of honor has to be more than having one great year, right when that's all they really that's what that's what it is. You know, Jared Bayless is in there ten years of the NBA. Right, Yeah, No, I hear you, I hear you. That's why I asked you, because I need to give you that answer. It's hard to say what's right and what's wrong.

They have there's some damn good players, but I'm with you, they haven't been here long enough. They weren't here to establish themselves. Do we even know who they are? Right? Right? Green? Do what? What kind of favorite? For the hell? You know? Even Jared who I covered? All right, Okay, thanks Jared. Yeah, that's what I'm

saying. I hate this definitive criteria. I didn't initially right because I thought it was hard to get to. Yeah, but now there's ten All America teams, there's eight Players of the Year, and you know getting one of those. Look, does Jason Terry deserve to be up? Yes? You think so? Yes, given the lawsuit or the d C double A. Yeah, yeah, player of the Year he was in ninety nine. He

was the best player of the year in college legitimately. Yeah, not just he was here for years, right, But to me, that's kind of like you got to be at least that good. I'll give you this. I'll give you this. Okay. So who's are this the best players? And we talked about this week, right, who's the best? Our top three? Damon, uh, Sean, Sean and baby right, Dams thoughtler, I don't think he is. I don't think he is. Yeah, well, there you go, And that's my issue. If he's not up

there, what the hell is going on? So I get a call here from anybody. I don't think he is. And one of the reasons Jason was up there because the the n C dob a stuff. Yeah. He while Jason Jason won a freshman uh National Freshman of the Year. You're talking about Jason Terry. Oh you mean Jason Terry, Jason Terry Jackson Gardner. Yeah. But you know what, in fact, U did I talk about this yesterday with you? Uh? In in our most underrated players, some

guy and legitimately said Jason Gardner, And I don't disagree with that. He's played the most minutes of any player here in in the ub that had a lot of great stands, had a lot of big games. And to me that that's where the whole body of work argument comes in, because you know he's got he's got a body of work and and and you know some of these guys does not, absolutely does not. He had one year and he was really good. Johnson Stanley, No is he up there? He is

up there. I'm looking at the list right now, and you're right, Why the hell is Damon Style? Yes he is, Yes he is. I don't know, but he's in there. I can't even I'm looking at the list right now, thank you, But Damon st maybe a consensus All American or oh maybe he was a PAC twelve PAC ten Player of the Year co player, he's in. You know what I I spitched that out then, yeah, grumpy old grumpy old group. Should Chase Budinger be up there? No? Right, No, but he is? I think Should Aaron

Gordon be up there? No, but I'm sure he will be. These guys are all in. There is marketing in on there now, no, no here, here are the and he's a fantastic player, and he's built the NBA resume as well. He'll get Yeah, yeah, I can't remember Ry Gordon, Nick Johnson, Stanley Johnson, Jared Baylist, DeAndre Ayton. None of those guys should be there, all Shawn's guys. And maybe we have a little bias for that. Maybe it's Steve. They're in there because

they've won this one award, because they had one great year. Yeah, you know when I like, I see Sean Rooks in there, right, that came here for four years, played his ass off. What did he get in for? I don't really know. It must have been oh to NBA ten years ago, maybe ten years in the NBA, you know, same with Bushler to call let's get this. We're at a time for you. Yeah, yeah, Hi, you're on the air and I on the ball. Hey guys, Richard Hawdy Hoey, Richard, what's up? Hey?

Uh? Are you guys talking about the greatest player in Arizona history? Yeah, I know what you're gonna say, Go ahead, Well, I I mean, to me, the greatest, legendary, the most impactful player is Bob Elliott. Yeah right. I talked about that with Jay here because of your email yesterday or the day before. No, oh okay, And I asked him, why do you think why do you think he hasn't been considered something like that. It's been a long time, yeah recently. Yeah,

it's going on fifty years since he played here. Yeah, But the more I read about Kiddy Cork, what I say you said, Uston was, you know, I had heard I'm old, and I heard that back in the nineteen seventies growing up in Oklahoma. I was I knew who Bob Elliot was. And that's saying something because you know, it's a long time

ago. I'm out in the middle of the football state and we didn't have much interest in basketball at all, but we knew who Bob Elliott was, right, so, and that was very significant along with you of a baseball We watched that religiously, along with that, and of course anytime you they was playing ASU in baseball that was not CTV, you know. But if we head into the modern era, I'll go with you guys as far as Shawn Elliott and Mike Bibby. Then after that it's a tough call. It

really is a tough coup that Mike Vibby was. Of course that year he played was fantastic and took one then asked the championship, right and even better the next year when they were even better. Okay, Richard, thanks yeah, hey, by the way, you guys, I don't I was looking at the big Telps kids the next year and Arizona doesn't have any potentially cold weather games. Pretty bad, you know, it's pretty wiosy. I mean, come on, we're talking. You know there's nothing use in Kansas or

Iowa A you know you gotta go. Ami, We're gonna assimilate and take it and take a while real quick the wind Richard win eight and a half? You like it? Or you doing, Steve? I think I think I think that quest of blood will come out and you for you pretty quick? Okay you and done you and don you know you and Dona lack them, mate pretty fast? Let me ask you eat and half wins good above our next year for Arizona. That's what it said at eight and a half

over over Okay. I think they went nine something like that next year. Okay, all right, okay, okay like it. I know an optimist, Okay, you know give me Okay, I'll spend your money. Thank you, Richard. Good, okay, let's go on. The next news I had was something you guys mentioned before the show, was the pact partying ways with their commissioner. Yep, I think it's set to February twenty ninth. I believe in the month they've given him a two week two we notice.

He'll go back and make a ton of money whatever he was doing before. Yeah, you know for this, I looked up his bad he's a journalism major. Did you know that. Yeah, he obviously got out of it. Well he became a lawyer. You know, he's got he's got a lot of degree from from Virginia. But yeah, I was announced today that the parting of the ways as of the end of the month. Uh, not surprising, but they did not announce who's taking his place, or

if somebody's taking place. There was just a two line statement. The PACK twelve Board of directors now today that the conference in George Klafkoff have mutually agreed to part ways in fact to February twenty I have twenty twenty four. More details about new leadership of the PAC twelve will be announced next week. And I think I talked. I said to you, they can't roll him out at the bat, No, no, as we were going out, Yes, yeah, yeah, they can't do that. No, they can't partying.

He's not gonna be anywhere. Well, he kind of made He was at the f A U game and he was kind of low key there you with the you didn't go No, but he was shown on TV. Yeah, he was shown on TV or in fact, I saw him before they even acknowledged he was there. Wait a minute, that's Clay cop beyind he was kind of like behind the scenes. Yeah. Well again I think he still lives there, so yeah, probably in Vegas. So interesting, uh,

interesting deal. There some more interesting interesting news. Athletes to skip the cognitive test now so sports A sports agency is directing the NFL draft prospects not to take the S two evaluation that the wonder lick or whatever it's called.

I believe it's, uh, the S two cognitive tests, which is the one it's the it's the test that c. J. Stroud took last year during the combine and all that, and his score did not come back well okay, And so I think I don't know if it was due to the then play compared to the square on the test, but it looks like there's gonna be less and less of that of those tests. It makes no sense

to me if you can play, you can play. Yeah, unless you unless you're jerking, you have a background, right, you know, then you have to say, okay, will you this happen again? Yeadha, yeada. If you're taking any of those personality tests. I don't have a personality no, no, but I mean, like I work. I had to a few times, right, was just to find out if I was the butt header. Now I could have told him, yeah, that's just give me maybe got a little sketch, sketchy, Yeah, give you the

buddy. You can test to find that out. Well, it was more it's kind of like to find out do you work well with others? Yeah? And I don't remember. I don't remember the test. Is he bitter because the old gradges Jack and you still were hired work? No? These are while I was already working there. I think you're trying to find out if I should be a supervisor. The point he's already in the building. So last news here. Jay touched on it earlier when we were on break.

Sacramento is become the likely host for the A's from twenty twenty five to twenty seven before they officially moved to Vegas. If the stadium gets built, right befow that article the other day. Yeah, they're messing it up. I had one real quick before we get to Jake and a little break. So the Sons are going to have a D League team for the first time in a while. They're going to stay in Phoenix. I had somebody text me a couple of days ago, why not Tucson. It's a great place

to play, a great place, Rascal Place. And I'm thinking history will show that that's not the case with pro teams like that. Yeah, you would know this. Yeah no, yeah, no, there, they're not gonna go see it. I've said for a long time, we've got to get out of here, that the fans here aren't basketball there. Arizona basketball fans always said that because there were times that they couldn't fill up McHale FRANCAA tournaments stuff. Sure, no, no, no doubt. That's and historically

the minor league system here has it really been good. It hasn't been. Okay, all right, let's take our break. Jake Fisher will be joining us. Hey, welcome back to the ball here on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. I'm Steve, He's Jay. Now we'd have Jake Fisher form usial a football player back in the day, one of our great sponsors. Jake, how you doing doing well? Guys? How are you doing fine? I'm glad you didn't get to the waste management

golf. I was. I'd be afraid for you. Oh no, yeah, I didn't go to that. You're better than that. You're you're you're more bougie than that. Everyone everyone on my team and in the athletic department. It feels like when we were in college when I was like one of the only ones that did. And I don't really plan on going yeah yeah, what do you think about TOAs game with a issue, Well, it's

the rivalry game. Anything can happen, That's what everyone's gonna say. But if we look as engaged against them as we did against Colorado, I don't think it's going to be close. Did when you were when you were here as a as a as a football player, and obviously, I mean we've talked about football rivalry has always been bigger, even even you know, back in the day. But but as a as an athlete in the department, football player, and you understood what the rivalry was there, What did you

think of the basketball rivalry back then? Was it? Did it even matter to you guys? Well, of course it mattered, and you know it matters to me growing up because I grew up there was a basketball fan. You know, when you're when you're playing football, you only play him one time a year. In basketball, you're playing two times in the regular season. You can play them again in the past tournament. So we always kind

of figured Arizona would win. Obviously, every now and then ASC would upset him and didn't make everyone upset, and we vowed to get him the next time. But football is a little bit different, and the football matchup is a little bit more even in terms of the all time standing. So, uh, obviously we cared about it, but we focused more on the football.

I was gonna ask you about, oh, be being a local dude, does that mean more to you because you are a local dude here, Well, you grew up here and now you live not too far from from Tempee. Yeah, of course it means more to you. Growing up. I mean, you watch these games and a lot of the people that you go to high school with end up going to a su and uh, you know, you keep in touch, you smack talk, and uh, you know, especially like four and after you're in college, you're going into the

games, hanging out watching them and talking trash at each other. So being a local guy growing up saying and actually knowing what the hatreds like during the game. I mean, there are some nasty games that those two have been involved in. It's you know, it's kind of crazy. It's not one of these one of these fake rivalries where you know, these guys are all, you know, best friends and they'll talk a little trash on the field. You know. I always go back to my first time walking out of

the tunnel for that game I got. We were wearing the all white jerseys I got. Uh, it was like a doctor pepper something thrown on me by like an eighty year old guy. You know. So it's just you stay, you stay in that mindset, you know, growing up. Even when you get older and you're out, you're out of collegs and whatnot, and you know, it's a little bit different. What's that? What's the first football rivalry game that you can remember, you know as a kid growing

up here? How far back do we go there? Not very far, you mean since I've been alive as a little kid. You know. What. What what's the first Arizona a SU game do you remember that kind of mattered to you? Well, the ones that all of them mattered. But you know, during the mac of the era, when Arizona was awful and losing every year, you know, especially when you love the sport and whatnot, you stop, you know, you tend to stop paying attention to it.

So I think the first one that I can actually remember that meant a great deal was when the Scoops regime was there and we beat the living dog crap out of them at home. The year that we went to the Vegasball. I believe that's the first one where I kind of got back into the swing of things, knowing that we were on the way up Washington, and I was super excited about it. But I'm sure you were a young kid

watching the games, you know, as a ten twelve year old. Oh yeah, but I can't remember that far back, and when we were bad, I didn't pay attention to it because remember, my whole family's from Nebraska, and so it was Nebraska on Saturdays, and then late at night, if you know, if I wasn't hanging out with friends and stuff like that, we'd watched the Arizona game when they weren't good, and half the time we turned the TV on halfway through because they just they weren't competitive. Yeah.

So when we were in high school and there, you know, the sup Regine came in, we all started paying more attention because he saw the players that they started getting, and you knew that they were going to be able to start competing again. I know we've asked you the revenge question a number of times, and Arizona's got some revenge revenge factor, you know, because of that three corps cord shot from last year that beat him here at home. You know, Tommy kind of downplays it, but I'm not so

sure the guys downplay. What do you think, Well, a lot of these guys are new I honestly, I think because we beat them pretty handedly in the tournament last year, I don't think that type of revenge is on their mind. I honestly, just because we have, you know, a one seed in mind in the West, I think they're going to just focus on getting better and playing every play like they did against Colorado. You know, I just honestly think that they're kind of you know, it's not like

they look down on ansue. Anything can happen in a rivalry game. But to be honest with yeah, I think they're more looking towards improving and continuing the success that they've had over the past couple of weeks. So so, Jay and I I'm sure you've paid attention to our debate about Arizona and the blue blood world that basketball is in. Is Arizona a blue blood basketball program.

No, they're one tier below it, you know. I think, you know, obviously you have the Dukes that Carolinas, the Kentucky UCLA just because John Wooden was there and won ten and what twelve years is there, even though they haven't really done much as of late. But I think we're one tier down with you know, Louisville. I think Yukon after this last year, they have the potential this year to solidify it. But I think

they're up in that top bracket too, because it's weird. It's like every six, seven, eight years or whatever it is, they just go on to hot streak and win a national championship. But I think we're kind of in the second tier. I don't think we're blue blood if I mean, if Tommy can solidify that and win a few, I mean, yeah, you move it up just because of how many NCAA you know, tournament appearances. We've had, all the players that we've had, stuff like that,

but we only have one and we only have four final fours. These other schools, you know, even in Michigan State, even though I think is those only one one? What does he have like nine final fours? Yeah? Yeah, how old are you? How old are you? Thirty thirty three? Oh wow, you're getting old. Sorry, So twenty seven years ago, you were six years old when they won the time. Yeah,

yeah, I remember where I was that day too. So and then you know those those final fours after that, when Silver Arenas was hurt against Duke and we got screwed over at the end with Jason Gardner getting tackled by Jay Williams. I remember all of it. I remember the three Elite eights that we basically got beaten the last second when Sean Miller was here. So hey, you know you remember all of that, especially when you're born in Tusun.

Well, and if I recall, you said basketball was your favorite sport in high school, right, so I'm assuming because of that you pay close attention to it. Yeah, basketball was my favorite sport growing up. You know, if I if Arizona had a you know, a really really good team at that time, I probably would have gravitated more to football. But I ended up sticking with football because I wasn't going to grow to six four

or six five, and I was a little bit better at football. So the win totals came out this week for Arizona the Big Twelve, since you were spot on last year. Since I might have to put some cash on my Chick Fisher line eight and a half over a football, I think we're going to get nine to ten wins. I honestly just because this year, you know Fafida, he knew the system and everything like that, and you know we were year three of a coach. I think that was kind of

the reason why we got ten this year. I'm saying nine to ten because we're going to have a new system, and to be honest with you, it's going to be uncomfortable playing in places you haven't played before. There might be a few games where it's cold as hell. You never know. I haven't looked particularly hard at the schedule. I do know we have one of

the easier schedule or more lenient schedules. But you still have a Kansas State, you still have an Oklahoma State. Well I don't even know if we played Oklahoma State this year, but you know, you still have a Utah and a couple of these teams like the Big Twelve. It's not like the Big Ten or the SEC where you have the top two or three that basically finished first, second, and third every year. I mean they're all over the place, you know, and a few have Kansas that came out of

nowhere. Oklahoma State is probably the most consistent along with Kansas State. But now you add Utah to the mix, so you never know. I'm going nine to ten. I lean more towards ten, just because I think our offense is going to be so damn good that's coming here, especially with some of the additions in the portal. But you know, I'm going to do nine to ten just to be safe. That's legit. He's over, He's going all over. Yeah, I think that's the safest bet. That's how

I would do it. When you mentioned something about being uncomfortable, you know, going to places that you've not been before. Is that from experience that you'd go to somewhere where you hadn't played and it was kind of a little

weird or what what? What's the what's the thought on that? Well, you know, going up to you know, Southern cal where a lot of the kids are from and a lot of kids watched games in the coliseum in U. C. L A. Or going up to Orgon where a lot of the kids that you're playing with they went on a visit or two there. You know, going to Utah you've been there a couple of times. Going to Boulder, you've been there a couple of times. Like you know,

having a new conference and had everyone gunning for the new guy. That's it's just one of those things that I take into account because you know, I, like I said, I haven't looked at the schedule, but there might be a couple of games where it's going to be in the twenties or thirties next year, just because of how it spread out. The Big Twelve is, especially with a lot of these teams in the Midwest, you never

know you might have snow. Well, you know, if you've been in Tucson for four or five years, the only time you see snow is up in the mountains. So again, it's just going to be a different atmosphere. And hey, you know, in Big Twelve games, these guys actually show up to the games. You're not going to the Rose Bowl where you only have half the bowl full and half of the people there are from the other team. You just you have no idea. That's the one thing I

really really love about the Big Twelve and the move there. You know, people can say, oh, I'd rather go to Pasadena over you know, Ames or wherever the hell Iowa State is. I forget it. But I mean, to be honest with you, the people at at Iowa State actually show up. They're going to make that you know, stadium which might hold thirty to forty thousand less than the Rose Bowl, They're going to make it louder. So it's just gonna be a lot better of an atmosphere too.

In fact, somebody posted something on Twitter the top attendance for the Pack the Big Twelve this year with the basketball teams, Arizona would be like fifth. Yeah, yeah, well you have Texas Tech, and you know, you have Iowa States obviously Kansas. I mean, and they show up and it's loud. It is completely different. It's not going to be shown up to a half full stadium where you have absolutely no energy like Stanford. Yeah, I mean, find at Stanford even when they had freaking Andrew Luck and we

were on CBS, they were half full. Yeah, there were the number you know four team in the nation. What is this? Yeh, Jake is always what's going on? And thanks for being on the show. I appreciate it. Well. I appreciate that, guys. Thanks Shake. I'm joy you weekend? All right? You two cool? Jake Jake Fisher, going back to a Richard said about the Arizona scheduled football schedule, I'm looking at it right now. First of all, four of the Arizona's last six games are at home. They have They've got Colorado and West Virginia at home starting in mid October. In November, first week in November, they go to Central Florida, that's not going to be sure cold, come home

and play Houston. And then the only game that you foresee could be where weather it might be in they go to They go to TCU, TCU and thanks on not thanks the weekend before Thanksgiving. Then ASU here. So Richard is right. You know, they played at b YU October twelve. Actually the weather probably ought to be good there. They play at Utah September twenty eighth, the weather should be good there, and they play Kansas State September

thirteenth. So weather might not be a factor. Other years that it will be, but next year doesn't look like that. Third game is that the Kansas game, KNASIY game. Third game, it's gonna be kind of diffy. Yep, it'll be tough again. Again. They got three straight games against teams that are that are predicted to win over unders or eight and a half or more. Yeah, you know something's got to give with that. Yeah, yeah, it'll be a tough Go. Okay, let's go,

all right, let's take our last break. We'll be back. Take take your cost five two zero four one six, seventy four to forty If you're an Arizona men's basketball fan. This is Eye on the Ball on Fox Sports

fourteenth. Hey, welcome back to Eye on the Ball Hero Fox Sports fourteen fifteen. I'm Steve EJ said with us for fifteen minutes. Tiger Woods just get some So what's the deal there? He said, it was illless, he went through six holes and decided enough to finish off his round. So he's out. The call it flew like symptoms, fever, dizzy, dehydrated,

some type of flu. Says it's not physical, that all in his back is fine, okay, whatever that means, but the bottom line is he's not playing, yeah, because I do know at the end of his he said, I guess he I guess he had a really bad shank at

the end of his round yesterday. And he said it just his backet tightened up at the end of the round and it was just a swing that he didn't come through on it or whatever, and he shanked the shot, which to see, you know, if you just don't hear shank and Tiger Woods in the same right, in the same breath. But you know, if

look everybody, it's been that time here, everybody's been getting sick. I don't know how many people I knew who you know who had this crud that we all had coffee, right, I ended up I ended up with bronchitis, My wife ended up with broncrackkitas, and then my son ended up with bronchitis. So it was kind of like damn and you know anything that that was all that contagious. But had you been following the story Scott Pollard, you know what I'm talking about Scott kansask He he's was near death. I

don't know if it's near death, but he needed a heart transplant. I guess it's goes and runs in his family and he uh, there's a big story about maybe a month ago. Well he's found a transplant. Wow. I wasn't say because I was drinking tim that he had passed. No, no, he's he's gonna get a transplant. You remember he was the guy part of the Kansas team that Arizona beate in ninety seven. Yeah, yeah, no, I remember that. I remember that he was on he was

on that team. Wow. Okay, Well, good, good for the family history of you know, big big men, big hearts. Yeah. Yeah, So update on on softball today. Uh, five minutes ago, Arizona Softball tweeted out there up two nothing. Uh the third inning over number fifteen Arkansas. Yeah, we got a call. All right, let's take the call. Hi, you're on the air and eye on the ball. Hey, what's going on, guys? Vi? Vic? What's going on? Well, you just mentioned Tiger Woods. I've got to ask you,

when is golf gonna move on from this guy? That's a good question. When he doesn't move the needle anymore, so irrelevant, it's pathetic. I mean, boxing moved on from Ali, from Leonard to do the stars. Uh, this'd be like if Joe Montana came back and tried to quarterback right now. I think it's more about the fans that he still moves the needle for and Vic, I'm gonna tell you I'm one of them. I still love watching Why Jay Why because he was so damn good and you want it.

You still want to see him do it one more time, that's all. I want to see him do it one more time. So if you want to see Ali come back and fight again, that's that's different, maps because all he getting punched in the face by somebody who can kick his ass, which they could kill him. You know, golf, you know you can play golf until you're old. I mean, Phil Mickelson won a tournament at fifty, so I know I don't have a problem with him continuing to

play, and I still like to watch him play. I don't know. I'm not a golfer, so I guess I don't understand, and I don't really enjoy anything. But I just don't understand how they can't find a new guy to later had on. Oh, there's plenty of you guys to be fair, always been gone a while, so she's coming back. But see, that's the thing about golf, though, victors. I mean, there are a bunch of new guys, and those are the guys that you say

are really damn good. But you know, Tiger Woods gets on the golf course and people still watch and and you know, and if he's if he competes, he competes, and if he doesn't, then then he doesn't. But he's still he still moves the needle. That's all. That's all I can say it, you know, And to me, it's like I just want to see him do this one. I want to see him win one more major, whether or not I think he can is another one, and it's almost like he's so bad that if he wins one, it's gonna be

it's gonna be spectacular. I guess I don't know, but I did want to say one more thing. You guys were talking about high school rivalries, and I went to Span High and obviously that was a big time when I was growing up. I mean Friday night life, my dad took us the game. But in California, where you guys know I've lived the last forty

five years, high school rivalries are amazing. I mean, you have the big ones like modern day Bosco, right, but I also have like my kids went to your high school and they played Montabello and it's an inner city. It's played on Pop Warner and honestly, you guys, it's like death to lose that game. My daughters played softball and they lost to Montabello and it was crying for three days. I mean, the rivalries in California,

and I'm assuming Texas. Yeah, in California, it's amazing. Juice on Football doesn't know anything like what a rivalry is in California any sephies this weekend with the sporting events I did, I went to the Arizona against Long Beach and uh Long beach had a couple of girls and my daughter coached and uh got to be good friends with them and the family. So, uh,

yesterday I posted a soufie with two girls and they're amazing young women. Just so you know, we'll never forget what you look like because of your selfies. Okay, you guys, bear down both at good to talk to you. It's funny because I hear what Vick is saying. You know, there comes a time when somebody's just not good anymore. Sure, sure it's I think golf is just different as far as that goes, right, I mean,

Tom Brady, at some point you need to retire. Uh you know basketball players, you know Michael Jordan, you know, you know't have it anymore. Stop. But well that's the whole thing. And you know this

the end game? Yeah, well when is the end game? And some people just don't prepare for it. And look for me, like, I know that on a day that it all comes together, I can shoot a seventy nine and I would go crazy, But most of the time I'm going to shoot ninety two, right, And you go out there with the hope that on that one day it all comes together. I still feel like it

can or I can shoot low eighties. And so golf is different in the as far as that goes, and guys who are in their fifties can't compete, you know, Phil Mickelson, and you know, as much as that we don't like him, is still competitive on the golf course. Now he's not Rory McElroy. He's not Justin Thomas, he's not you know, Jordan's speed. But he can still on a given day or on a given weekend, go out and compete. And I think, you know, Tiger feels

like he can too. And I kind of believe him when he says, if I didn't think I could win, I wouldn't be out there. He wouldn't do that. But he knows also either he's got the gas that he's that he's the guy. Yeah, you know, he's guy. We'll look around, don't look too long because his son, who's howled twelve is like fourteen. Well, he's commons common. I don't know if you saw Tiger Woods has a new clothing line. No, no, no clothing line, new logo. It's a tailor made. It's got a new logo that looks

kind of like a Tiger. He was wearing that. You know, he's been wearing at this golf term and they just they're not you can't buy it yet, but they've shown it, so I expect you to be wearing that suit. No, I've never worn any of his but you, but you've used his equipment. Well, I used Nike. I had Nike golf clubs for a while that they weren't Tiger Woods Nikes. They were just Nike golf clubs. Can I use Nike golf ball? Oh? I thought you We

talked about that. I'm I'm more of a Nike person than the Tiger Woods person. Do you see that they're gonna be laying off a lot of people this year? They're in trouble twelve everyone who's not in trouble. Yeah. I worked there for a little bit at the store at one of the the Phoenix Phoenix up there. Yeah, no, suppose you discount go back? It was uh, well, I would say it was fifty everything online anything, anything, it was. It was good. You spend all your paychecks

there. Yeah, they get you, they get you, they get it back. Yeah. Yeah cool on stuff that they don't really want. Yeah, yeah, I can't. I think I've only I've been to the you know, I go to the night. Anytime I'm somewhere that a Nike store is convenient, I go. And I think I've only ever bought myself one thing at a Nike store, and that was a golf ship that I got one time. But you know it's it's I've been a Nike guy for for a really long time. Continue to be just another thing. Robert Horry's son,

right is going to UCLA. How are you doing? How's he getting these guys? Man? Don't don't you see? Well we see he yells at me, he belittles me, little me. I said, no, Well, we're talking giving updates on on on events. Uh. Arizona men's tennis leads uh leads Texas to zip right now in their in their match. But I think Texas is really damn good. I think they're ranked yeah, big twelve. I think softball or tennis wise is pretty good. They're pretty

tough. Yeah. I don't think there's much of anything else going on. So we'll see you at the game tomorrow, right right, uh seven thirty? Uh, you know, you know what we need to talk about the final four stuff that's coming there to mchall oh yes, let me dig that up. By the way, Tenant, Texas is ranked third in the country. Okay, so there's huge there's something that it's the kind of fine uh Final four showdown shootout. Uh so bringing some fan jam? Yeah, that's

right. Is the fanjam, it says. The Fanjam is is an event where you know, fans can come and you know, practice their shots. There's giveaways, all of that kind of stuff. It's a touring thing and it's going to be at UH at McHale tomorrow from thirty to seven thirty before the game. So you can go there at Michale and you can take some shots, you can take some pictures. They're inviting they're inviting the media to go out there and take some shots. And I'm like, I don't think

I can reach a three pointer anymore. But our girl j Perry Jay Thearry will be there. Yeah, we thought you have her on the show one more time before, but she's the CEO of the local Organizing Committee. But that's the thing. It starts at five point thirty at Michale tomorrow if you want to go over there and hang out. So if you're taking kids, if you're taking kids to the game. I'd be perfect for them to enjoy the couple of hours torint get out there and and shoot your shot man future

shot. So there you go. Just any uh, And it's kind of cool that they're doing this, you know, around the state and trying to get fans involved. I mean Final four is a big deal. Sure, it's hard to get tickets, and they're expensive and all those things. Well, a friend of my last I said he got three or four. I think four of them. I guess how much the cost. I'm gonna go three fifty a piece, seven fifty a piece. Seven fifty rouch is right.

Yeah, that's if you don't win the lottery, right, if you didn't have to win the lottery that they do before they you know, at the end of last year. So yeah, I didn't realize you were selling them to the regular general public store. I thought they were kind only stopped that in there. Yeah, but they are, but they are. Wow, wow, seven fifty would you you wouldn't pay it? I know you wouldn't pay it. No, I might. I'd pay if Arizona was in

it, but I wouldn't pay it just to because your limit. Well you said that if it was a team that you cared about, right, if it was Arizona, if I if I'm yeah, I mean I think we paid that back in ninety seven. Well do it? Well, what I recall that we paid fifteen hundred bucks for flight hotel in a ticket. Yeah, but then eventually that was for the whole thing, for the whole thing.

Then you were able to get rid of some too, yeah too, yeah, And then then we got well yeah, we got we got tickets from other people, and then we sold those tickets so that we could pay for what we for for the fortune. But ye know, we took all four of my key all four of my family members and a babysitter and the babysitter the Gonzales Is to hit the lottery. Well, the well part of it was that my daughter, who was the youngest, she flew for free.

She was a lap child at the time. She was only she was a year old, you know, not even are well just not quite a year old. So but you know, but you know we did we painted for that. She's a girl girl and that was the last time. I don't need to remind you. I don't go there before Saturdays. Before Saturday gets here. She should be at the game. You should be at the game tomorrow night. Yeah, yeah, she's still you know, she's she's not working it, right, she's not working. No, well, Rachel

is working. Rachel was working it. Which one is Alana? Okay? Yeah, the middle one. Rachel wasn't even a gleat a glimmer in her eyes. She's three. Yeah, this is the ninety seven so line of two thousand and one was not quite a year old. Two yeah, yeah, so but no, actually, Rachel's working for TV. And before we go, I want to give a quick shout out my I guess we call

her my grand niece, my niece's daughter. So light pond say. She's a wrestler at Sunnyside one hundred and thirty two pounds weight class, and she's won her first two matches. She's in the semifinals tonight. She could be a state Indie. What divisions and women in the girls she's she's competing against. Yeah, yeah, she's in. She's on on the girls team. Okay, she's she's competing tonight. So I want to give a shout out in case my brother is listening. He's up in Phoenix for her for her

match. But uh, you know, if you've got family doing radio, you get you get on the radio. So I wish her all the luck. Okay, going to sit on Sunnyside. Guys, what did Top save? The guys are going for their thirty seven. Yeah, we've had them on the show state the last couple of years. And also good luck to the Gradary School. And there's in my old Uh. They're they're in the semi finals of the one A basketball tournament. I think tonight and tomorrow are

the two games. So they're they're playing up. They're not sure that they had some nice grub you'd go buy a watch. Well there it's up in Prescott and they're playing at that arena in Prescott. Have you read to that? No, I never had. It's a cool arena. Yeah, it's cozy. It's like seven thousand. Uh. You can get yourself a nice Indian fry bread that's oh man. Have you read that coffee? No, go there, same thing. Give it a shot. All right. So
