This is I on the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jakin Zaliz on Fox Sports fourteen fifteen powered by Nova Insurance Services. Make sure your most christ possessions katz R two SID and i Heeart Radio Station. Good, good afternoon, everybody, Welcome to I on the Ball here on Fox Sports fourteen to fifty. I'm Steve Rivera, He's Jagon's Oss, got our boys, Noah, and today Friday, Good, good Friday. Finally we're here. We may well, we sort of we're almost there. I'm not gonna say we made it

because we can still screw this up in the next two hours. Yeah, I know, we're capable of anything. Noah, you were very talkative yesterday. It was nice. Well yeah, well what does that mean, Bob, because he's usually kind of in the behind the scenes, but he spoke a lot yesterday. Oh that guy me. Oh yeah, yeah. Well it was a good conversation that we had, you know, about the failure disappointment discussion. And actually I was watched just a few minutes ago. I

was watching that. They spent about ten minutes last night on it on TNT. You see that, No, No, some really interesting perspectives. It was it was you know, Shack and and Charles and and and and you know the guys. Uh, Ernie Johnson, you brought it up. And so they basically said, first of all, that what a great thing. And this is a conversation I've heard all day about this, is that what

a great thing. It was that he that whether you agree with them or disagree with them, that Jannis handled that the way he did and said what he did, because this created a lot of conversation. Um, and that uh, you know, people are talking about the whole issue, which I think, I think this is going to help everybody because you know, you just have to see things for what they are. But the funny thing was

that did different perspectives at the table. You know, Charles said, Charles agreed with what kind of we said, is that, you know, just because you didn't win a championship, you're not a failure. You didn't fail right, Uh. And you know, and and he was really and he basically was along the line he said, Look, he was, I didn't win a championship, he ship, but I don't consider myself a failure.

So you know, I grew up in the projects. My mom was my you know, my mother was a maid, and you know, six years later, look at where we are. I was, I'm a success. I'm I'm, you know, a very big success. So I'm you know, I will consider the fact that I didn't get a championship a failure. We just didn't get a championship. Shack, on the other hand, said, you know it goes. I played twenty years, I won four championships.

I consider those other sixteen years a failure, said, I failed in the years that we didn't win a championship because my goal every year was to win a championship. So since I didn't win one, it's a failure. But where where he kind of differentiated it was that he said, but failing isn't always bad, no, right, if you, if you, if you, if something good comes out of that. Said So, even though I do feel like I was a failure of those other sixteen years, I

don't feel like I was a failure as a whole. And I don't feel like, you know, the failure those failures were bad failure. Kenny Kenny Smith was kind of like, you know, if you do everything within your capability to keep your team from failing and the team still doesn't win a championship. You're not a failure and he said, you can say that Jannis did that. So it was it was, it was three. Really, it was a good conversation. I thought it was very very well said by all

three of those guys. Okay, I think it's all everybody's different perspective, right, and you're not you're life for your life ventures or life right skills or not skills, but what you've been through in life right, And like don you know said you know, I think it was don Or, it was it was Vic who said that, you know, he doesn't want me coaching his kids team because I'm I'm I'm a believer in the participation trophy.

Well, the truth of the matter is I am not. But I'm also not somebody that smashes my kid's hand with a hammer if he doesn't get a base hit every time, or if or if the team doesn't win every time. I'm not that guy eating But you know those guys, I know those guys exist, right, They're all over the place, So no, I get it. But everybody's an individual and they have Uh. You know, some of my soccer friends growing up, they were they were not growing up

going what's our kids. They were brutal. They were brutal, they were tough, they were on their kids, and you know, got to win. No, they don't know, don't Yeah, um, you know it's about life lessons, learning and being better. Can you. I just love the fact that more than twenty four hours later, this conversation is still going on, and that really tells you what he said, how impactful it can be. So I thought it was very cool. So, No, when you were a kid, did you have a lot of pressure, not so

much from your parents or whatever to be well and not fail? Because you you talked about this yesterday. Yeah, kind of kind of it was sort of like it wasn't necessarily that was a pressure. It's more just like if things weren't mad or like certain grades like I could say in school weren't like achieved and it was like this like they'd be disappointed whatever. No, No, but in in athletics they weren't. They didn't have too much pressure on

that. Like I played competitive sports, um, like a pretty high levels and when we'd like lose in the tournament final or something, they they really had no um, they really there was like no downside for them. But they'd have an upside if we did well. What about the what about the coaches? That's kind of where I was going. Um, it depends on

the coach. But the thing is like a lot of the times coaches would be like their biggest thing is is if if we lose, like if we didn't do everything we could to win, And then that's one thing, Like if we play an amazing game, we do everything, we can't everything and learn. I think that's where it's at, right If you if you don't give your effort, right, that's a disappointment and and you failed at what you hope to do right. Um. Yeah, and then those and those

are the ones that are hard hard to take. You know what, when you feel like your team just didn't go out there and do what's level best to win. I could always always always take a loss if you felt like one there was effort and and and you know and that that that there was you know that they tried hard to win. But there were times that you could tell your team just didn't And those are the times that you'd you'd have a talk with him after a game and say, guys, that was terrible.

You know, yeah, and you know there were Any coach who's coached has had those, right, so you know I'm gonna had those at the little league level all the way up through high school that when I coached, and so it's just you know, that's that's why you want now, you know. Uh, No on mensions, you know grades. Yeah, with grades, there was failure and there was and there was you know success. I mean that was you know, if you didn't have if you didn't get

your you know, your a's and bees. In my case, I had to get all a's and bees. If I got to see that was a failure, you know in my parents' eyes, It wasn't a failure in my eyes. I was like, Okay, I just didn't get there. You know, things happen, you know, and we all have our different pressures, right. Uh. The question was probably not phrased, Well, it was a question he asked twice in a role. Well it was. It was a great question, Steve. I don't think there was anything wrong with

the question. I think it was a good thing that the question got asked, but even better, even better was the way it got answer. Yeah, yeah, I agree, I agree. Well, we started the story here. The story the show we're ready to go. What do we have today? Well, we got Jake Fish or Friday guests will come in. We'll ask him about the draft and uh, you know, he had friends drafted and we'll see you know, just some of his uh his experience with

seeing guys getting drafted. Um, you know, I guess he would have played in high school when Kadem was was in high school. So right when Jake, Jake's almost thirty. No, but Jake, Jake, Uh, well he started the U have A in two thousand and nine. I mean he played with Kadem at the U Kadem or who'd you say, with Kadem? Not with Kadem? Could he played? So he would? Because I want to I'm guessing. I'm guessing the answer. If I asked Jake,

who's the best high school player you ever played against? I would imagine hit, say Kadem, unless with somebody else that we don't know, a quarterback or something. But I already know that I've already listened to you say, I'm not talking about Kadeem Carry. Yeah they were teammates, Yeah they weren't teammates were here if they were teammates at Arizona. Right, So I'd like to pick his brain on on that, and then we got Bob Camp.

We'll talk about eight. We'll talk about both the sons and uh and the Cardinals draft with him to see get his thoughts on. So I was watching the draft. I'm sure you did. Two. I was watching from doing something else, and I was a bit surprised, a bit surprised if he

went at eight. Yeah. Yeah, I think when he got down and when he didn't get picked at seven, I thought, Okay, he's going to the Eagles at ten, right right, But then, um, you know, I was watching too, But then they were saying that Atlanta runs the ball and they don't be surprised if they take him at at at eight because they try to run the ball, and uh, he might be just the guy for them, and so I don't feel bad for him. Well I'll tell you who was it, um who? I can't remember who who

said it, but somebody in analyzing it. Uh No, it was this morning on Dan Patrick. One of the guys analyzing it this morning, and might might have been Mike Florio was saying that he thinks that Cadeem carry Bijean Robinson makes Atlanta a contender right now. Yeah, that was the only piece that they were missing. They were set. He said, there's seven and

ten last year that all these pieces they've got. You know, the way they the offense that they run that Bijean Robinson puts them in the playoff picture right now. Yeah, I heard that from the guy on ESPN. If we're going to see in the quarterback Ozuski or whatever his name is talked about. Yeah, he was something. He's it's it's wasn't the best pick for them, but the right pick for them in terms of he opens up some things from them offensively, right, especially with all the things that he can

do, right you you know they you see his the highlights issue. You know he can run. He beg how big is he's five eleven two fifteen. He doesn't look it to me, but he doesn't. I didn't realize he's two fifteen one. He looks slighter than that he looked. He look he's a bruiser. I thought he was taller. Yeah, me too. Well, I don't know. I don't know what I'm seeing. But obviously

very swifty, pretty fast, great hands. They showed that one. There's one run where he gets a handoff, goes he's on the right sideline, cuts back all the way across stiff arms, some guys gets to the end zone. It's just an unbelievable run. Which is the Reggie Bush like run that I was thinking about when we were talking about him the other day. What a story, What a story, great story, great story. You know, not just you know, not just for him, but you know

his family, his whole family. Then you know people all good people. They've all been uh, you know, just nothing. But but you know, great role models and and and you know, great people in the community and all those things. And you know, you love to see good things like that happen to a great family. So you not can you know, can congratulations not just to be Joan but too his entire fan. Yeah, I think it's very cool. Yeah. I saw a post earlier. I

don't know who it was, wrong and what. Don't think it was Shane but probably oh it was probably David Adams. Probably David Adams, who thinks for very highly himself obviously, um, but um, a guy who you said that he was probably usually the best player to come out of high school in Arizona. In Arizona, Arizona, well, best running back for sure, best running back for sure, best player. I at this point, I think you can say you had the best, the best player to come

out of Tucson. Yeah, what about I don't know the state that well, I haven't only been trying to think of some guys out of Phoenix. I mean, I don't know. I'd have to sit there and think something about it. Maybe somebody can let t I mean, you know you're drafted it, you know, eight high, you know, highest draft pick ever had a Tucson So um for now you say, yes, Well, I

mean you still have to wait to see what he does. You know, if he if he has a good career, how long it lasts, you know, because running backs, you know, don't see it, don't you see if he's got if he does, if he does a great five years, that's all you can really ask for. If he goes beyond that, it's sort of it's sort of icing on the cake. Yeah, well, so we'll see what happens. Congratulations obviously to him. We'll probably talk a

lot about him the rain remainder of the show. We're gonna talk to about him next week for sure. Uh, Coach Bennett is gonna be with awesome. Okay, Yeah, Saw that he was up there with him. There's a great picture of him. One he needs a smile though. I tried. I tried to reach out to him yesterday and I knew he was out there and he couldn't come back. Yeah in time. You know, I watched uh, I watched some of his uh, his post draft interview and um, you know, just really good, well spoken, you can tell

a very smart guy. Uh, always a smile on his face, answered every question with a smile. Um. You just love everything that he's putting out there. And uh, whether he's something that he comes by it natural or you know, he's being coached and and uh, and you know, just having an understanding of you know, what he needs to be whatever, whatever's going on there, it's all good because he looks he looks good.

People love him. Um. You know, I heard a couple of anilants say that he was one of the top three players in the draft, but people just don't draft running backs top three. Well he went eight. That's pretty dark. Well you see you see what happened to the guy from Kentucky, Right, Yeah, we talked a little about that happening, but we

didn't know who. How about that man well, when when when the Colts took Anthony Richardson at a pick that everybody thought they were gonna take Will Levis, including Pat Finley when he was when he was on with us, I thought Will Levis is gonna drop And he dropped all the way out of the first round. It was funny. There was there was a clip from him pre draft saying, you know what's what you know, what's the worst thing that you think in happy's the worst things that you can sit there and wait,

wait, wait, wait and not get drafted. And that's exactly what happened to him. So yeah, then you saw the pictures of every time, Hey, we've already gone through fifteen minutes row we have that was fast. Friday's going fast already. Okay, we're gonna come back to be Jake Fisher. We'll get his perspective on the draft and maybe some of his experience with some of his buddies who got into the draft or didn't get drafted.

But we'll get a you know, we'll go to our go to the well for some of our experience at Steve and I never had so stick around, good love God for more than twenty years. Brought to you by the Southern Arizona Business Coalition, Dreamy Life, I Mean my Heart Radio Wire. This is I Am the Ball with Steve Rivera and Jay Gonzalez on

Fox Sports fourteen. Every day they welcome back to our about here on Fox Sports fourteen fifty on Steve Rivera, He's Jakinsok gott A Bore North with us today and Jake Fisher on the phone. Jake, Joe, how are you guys doing fine? Thank you? So, what did you think about the draft. Well, my guy from Susan Bejean Robinson, got drafted number eight

overall. That's really all I cared about. Um, I'm not really gonna be tuning in to the rest of it until next year when some of myers in a Wildcat guys h you know, when they go so um, since we're probably not gonna have anyone drafted, I went ahead and just made sure the Tucson product got drafted number eight overall, Susan Falcon Land Falcon is fantastic. And next year I'll be tuned in a little bit more. Sot back to your days at Arizona. Were who were some of the guys that got

drafted during that time that that you played with? And then well just that were there. I mean there were some guys, right and I don't I don't remember if there was a bunch, but there were a few. Well, I had a Jern Kriner, you had a Nick Foles, Earl Mitchell Brooks read some of those guys. I mean we had oh and uh yeah, we had a couple of guys Golden got drafted by the Pittsburgh Steeler.

I mean we had a few, Like you know, I was really blessed my first couple of years to play with a lot of good NFL talent. So, so did you kind of from you know, from the side, I guess experienced some of that the things they were going through where they did you get to talk to them about all the stuff that they had to do and the process and all that. I mean, what do you what did you hear about it that? Steve and I don't, Well, to be one percent honest with you, I mean, as soon as they you know,

as soon as I've gotten to the offseason after their last year. My big thing is I wanted to make sure they knew I supported them. I didn't ask all the little, you know, details and everything because I never thought in my all the dreams I would get that opportunity. So I was just like, hey, I'm happy for you guys. You guys obviously are awesome. You know, all everything goes well for you and whatnot. So I didn't really hear all the little ins and outs until I had to experience

it for myself. Right. So, Jake, so you went through pro day, right, I'm curious, did you, in your heart of hearts think, okay, if I do really well i'd have a chance, maybe even to go as a free agent. Well, yeah, I had. I had three teams who now I obviously don't like at all, but I had three teams that told me that if I was there in the sixth round as a you know, and they were looking for a linebacker, they were going to draft me. And so I was sitting there with my parents and

all three went by in that sixth round and nobody chose me. And you know, it was one of those things where I was I was a tweener. I was way too small to be a linebacker in the NFL. You know, I was probably twenty five years too late, obviously because everyone's huge now, but also I wasn't fast enough and they didn't have any tape on me to play in the other position. So you know, I was one of those guys that was probably going to be if I didn't make a roster,

I was going to be on all the special teams. And I was pretty much it. But you know, my I basically told my agent I don't want to get you know, kind of tossed around and whatnot, and you know, my thing was, hey, listen, if they don't value my skill set, which you know, I'm not a Marquis Flowers who's sixty three two forty and ran like a four were one or some metis prode which is insane and he deserved it. But I just wasn't that kind of an

athlete. So I understand from that standpoint, and you know, just kind of live with it. So a lot of talk about Bijon and you know, coming through Tucson and you know, Pop, you know a lot of people thinking the best you know, Tucson high school football player ever? You played against some and you know, I wanted to ask you, you know who the best player, best high school player you played against. I think we know the answer, but I want to I want to hear who you

think that was in high school? Tell me who you think. I'm gonna say, I think you're second team Kerry. I didn't get a chance to play against him in high school. Oh okay, No. So that the year is so apparently Ironwood and CDEO. Things got so heated that people were literally fighting in the parking a lot, like fifty people at a time. And then we moved up to five A and the two schools basically said we don't want to play each other because we don't want to, you know,

have the police there and arrest a bunch of people. So um, yeah, it got to that point. So wow, his freshman year was my junior year. So I got to watch him in the four A state championship against uh some wall I believe it was he escotso Wall return a kick one hundred yards. I knew he was going to be special from the get go. You know, I always knew Tenvins was going to be awesome. He was just a little undersized, and I knew he would, you know,

eventually make you know, a college roster. I think he should have gotten offered a scholarship, but you know, he was he was small when he was, you know, a senior in high school, so I understand that point. But yeah, I actually got a chance to play against the guy you guys probably don't remember. His name is Javario Burkes and he went to the University of Nebraska. He was about six to seven, three fifteen.

I got, you know, I got to see him at one of those big men camps up in up at AFU, and he literally took a ball, he jumped, went between the legs and dunked it over the ten foot goalpost at that height and weight, and he was like the All Star center. But after his freshman year at Nebraska he couldn't play anymore because he had some sort of artifact man. And if he would have been able to continue playing, he would have been a surefire top ten to fifteen, the britishaw

Ferguson type guy like he was insanely good. So let me ask you a biased question that I don't know how you'll answer. So you talked about Tevis and you and kind of guys who kind are undersized but play your butts off. Could the University of Arizona, because everyone talks about talent, basketball and football, get you gotta have talent, gotta have four or five stars. Could the University of Arizona win consistently with guys like you? Guys? Yeah?

I mean, what is how has Utah been doing you know, pretty you know, they've been doing pretty well lately. Obviously, every now and then they'll have a star Luton Leley who goes top fifteen or whatever. But they don't have a you know, they're not ste they don't have guys getting drafted the first round every single year, so they find talent, they fit the scheme for the talent, or they find the talent to fit this scheme, they coach him up. Make sure that you know they're you know,

junior senior there. They get their body right, they know what they're doing. They study the film. You know, they have the consistency and the coaching consistency and the scheme, and they just let their guys go out and play. And if you're a good player and you don't have to think twice because you know the scheme, you've watched the film, good things can happen. You know. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone get drafted, you know, and you kind of just look back and say,

who is this guy? And they were kind of a plug in play type guy at something like a university of you saw, so absolutely you can, and you just got to make sure you have guys that know exactly what they're doing. They buy out to the scheme, They play their butts off, and good things happen when that happens. Well, you got a guy like that right now coming up. They think the tight end that that that went to I can't remember where, but you know, he's a guy who just

you know, made his bones. And then he had this great sixteen catch game against USC and he winds up in the you know, in the round. He's right, he's not gronk. But you know, you taught tight end who gets into the first round. It just it took him five or six years to get there, but he got there. Yeah, And this is the thing. This is what I absolutely love about the NFL. It's a little bit different from um, you know, college ball. They have

scouts everywhere. If you're good at what you do, they will find you. They will draft you, or they will pick you up as a free agent, and they will develop you. Right. I mean, there's some of these guys, like the Wisconsins in the world, in the Big Ten. They don't always have the best recruiting class, but they're always winning nineteen games a year because they go to the Dakotas. They go these places,

they you know, they go look over the entire football landscape. They find guys that they know can develop in three or four years, and then they work their tails off to develop them. So if you are good, they will find you. So we covered told me here in the late eighties, that was my football experience and then lud of course, who coached up. A lot of guys who coached you or did they and how much did they coach you up. I've had a lot of good coaches, you know.

Apparently I just wasn't, you know, I wasn't the model of linebacker that a lot of other schools in the NFL didn't want. But thankfully, you know, I had a coach Kisch, a coach cast deal. Thankfully I had a coach minor, you know, a high school, you know, and there's a lot of other coaches growing up, like my dad. Literally, my mentality is all from my dad. When I'm playing, it's just hey, listen, go make the play. Don't celebrate too much. I

know what you're doing. Go hit somebody, get back because you have another play to go. So thankfully, I don't think I've ever had a really, I don't think I've ever had a bad coach. You know. Coach cortis linebackers coach ever since I stepped on campus over at Ironwood. He was awesome, you know, and he coached my little brother before he got to Ironwood, so I had some familiarity with him. But you know, I don't think i've ever had a bad coach, to be honest with you,

and I'm very blessed for that. So so as you as you go, you know, go through college, how many guys really believe that they're there to get into the NFL? Is that a I mean, is that a thing? Or are there some guys in No, Look, I'm here, I'm getting an education, I'm gonna play, I'm playing my ass off. But you know, I'm not an NFL guy. How many guys think that way? And how many guys think I'm there and I'm going It's almost universal.

Yea. Literally everyone that you know, as soon as you're going with your freshman class, you talk to you know, some of the guys from Cali and Texas and stuff, and they're every single one of them swears, you know, put the right hand of the Bible. They think that they're going to make it. So it's just one of those things where it's like, hey, you know, thankfully you're getting into some good classes. Thankfully

you're you know, you're getting an education. Thankfully you're making some inroads or some of the you know, some of the people in the Tucson area that own businesses and that can help you and whatnot. But I mean, I can't tell you how many times I had to temper expectations. And I'm the

one that didn't think I'd ever make it to play college football. So it's just one of those things to where some of these guys because they have cousins or because you know they have they have siblings, or you know, someone in their family has made it that far, it's like, oh my goodness. You know, it's just like I said, I had the temporary expectations. Um, if they made it great. If not, then hey,

listen, you gotta have something to fall back on. And I'm not a big h you know, proponent of you know, you have to go to college. You have to go to college, but if you're there, you might as well get an education and something other than you know, the family studies. Yeah. Um, so let's switch to basketball real quick. Last time we talked to you, we weren't sure what Carter Bryant was going to do. Uh, Arizona got him. The fans rejoiced, and then you

know, they became fans again and you know, lose their minds. But what were your what are your thoughts when they got him? Well, I knew they were going to get one of the two. I was a lot more confident in the Carter Bryant situation, the fact I actually know his uh. I think it's an aunt that went there and played volleyball. But the fact of the matter, if he loves Arizona. He cried when he got to offer. It was his dream school. He grew up on campus like

it just all that stuff. I knew that was gonna eventually get to the point where it actually, you know, secured the commitment. The fact that we're in a great space in terms of you know, we've got a one seed two years ago, we got a two seed last year. And the fact that these guys know how to develop players. And I mean Carter Bryant, he's not like some slender kid. He's not sixty eight, you know, one seventy. You know, it's like a solid two, twenty two,

twenty five. So as long as he's able to you know, kind of refine his game, which he's got so much going for him, I think it's gonna be awesome. But going back to the fans perspective, I mean, you know, of course, I you know, it was a side of release when I got the notification that he committed. I put my phone down and I was like, you know, it might be another heartbreaker.

Hopefully it's not. But you know a couple of folks were telling me that, you know, Louisville's coaches weren't even at his last couple of games, you know, so they kind of knew he was going Arizona, and

that kind of gave me a little bit of comfort. But you know, he stought some of these fans that as soon as he committed, you have twenty four hours of oh, you know, coach Tommy load is awesome and he's doing this and that, and then today you wake up, you're going you check it out and it's like someone you know enters a transfer portal and it's like, oh yeah, Tommy would probably wait six months off for him. It's like to stop me. And you know the staff has a plan

and know what they're doing. They're executing it. If you look at their you know, that class, they have a top five class. I mean they're literally ranked ahead of Duke, and Duke has the number one or number two class every single year, so obviously they know what they're doing. Buy in when he gets all of his guys in there, and you know, he's got athletes that could play defense, you know, obviously to make sure they're unselfish. They're very picky when it comes to that stuff. They're gonna

be fine. And I think that every single year we're either going to be one or two in the conference, whatever conference we're in. They could go to Big twelve, maybe Top three. But they're doing well and I like it. And the actively developed their players. They care about them a lot, and they're very selective. Just goes to show that. I think there's a lot more character there and I just I really like what they're doing. Okay, all right, what do you do? What do you have going

on with your business? Now? You're busy? You're by the pool right now. I am by the pool. Have you ever had like so many phone calls throughout a week that you just forget how to talk? at ows. It's Steve Romera and Jagen Summits. This is I on the Ball on Fox Sports fourteen different. They welcome back to the Sports fourteen fifty Steve Dja boy, NOI with us good about thirteen minutes. Give us a quick call, Oh, four one, six, seventy four forty. We'd appreciate a call. Give us shout out whatever I talked about, whatever you want. So are your warriors going to close this thing out? I think so. I think tennights are best chance because if they don't close it out

here, Sacramento is gonna go crazy out the next game game seven. Yeah, you don't want it to go a game seven? They give I wish, Yeah, that's that's a lot of points. I won't touch that. I think I would take the money line though, minus three hundred minus three. It's not a very good thing, but I would take it with other things. That's why I asked the kid if he thought the Lakers might be able to close out today. I mean, yeah, but like I don't

know if it's gonna be it's not gonna be easy. What what's this? What's the spread? What's the it's no, what's the account? Is it? It's it's three two three Lakers. We're going at home right now. So they close it out. They have they have they don't close it out, they got to go to a game seven at sac No, no, no, no, Lakers No, yeah, it's like all Lakers on that. It's a game seven for them, like for Lakers, same with Worriors are going to be at home too, right for game sake? Yeah?

Yeah, Warriors. They both have to win and they play because they don't want to go on the road again and try to because Lakers probably can't beat Memphis at home over there. No, they have blackstand things like it takes a lot and then last time they won, job wasn't you know it was a player? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I think, Um, it's gonna be tough. Should be a finite of basketball. I guess. I don't know. I kind of know what I want to do, but I

don't want you to touch it, so I'm not gonna tell you. Well, okay, a money line partlay on those two teams is paying minus one over Yeah? Yeah, I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that. You're going to Warriors, Lakers, Warriors Lakers money line? Bat that's what money line part minus one on four? Yeah? Yeah, that's not good enough. Could you be twenty? You get ten? Right? No? You bet one? Would you say one? One? Four? Oh, that's even money. It's even money, it's even money. That's that's okay,

but then you have to sweat it out. Okay, the popular the popular prop beat right now, because Clay Thompson has this history of going big in game six is for some reason, Okay, this is a game six. So the popular prop eck going right now is Clay Thompson twenty five over twenty five points for what what's the what's the that's what that play? Thoms is going over twenty five points, so you know there is there a number on that. Um. No, but but DraftKings is boosting it to plus

one fifty. Oh, I didn't do that. That's good, one and a half to one. Do you think I trust Clay Thompson You don't. I don't. No, he's not the old Clay Thompson. No, no, But but you know who's turning into the good, good green green. Yeah, he's coming. He's come up the bench twenty points of the night. It was the first time since twenty nineteen or yeah, he's played really well. Mooney is uh yeah, what's his name, Moody Money. He's fantastic. This team has come to life all of a sudden. Yeah,

Wow, they're better, they're better. They better be alive tonight because, like you said, game sevens on the road aren't good to the to the road teams. It's you know, fans get so jacked up for for those games. I mean you can expect an incredible atmosphere. So and they'll be a big atmosphere in Golden State tonight because I think their fans know that they

got to win this one today to move on. Yeah, and then the winner and so it's it would be the Lakers and the Warrior and the Warriors, right, if the two of them win, it's a winner of these two series, the Lakers and Warris, which would be great. And then the Sun's the Sun's Denver is gonna be great. Yeah, you still think that, you still think then take take take out Denver. No, no, but you got Denver. That's right, you do have Denver. Trying

I'm trying to go back to the future's odds again. So, um conference championships. You've still got the Sons as a plus one sixty five, Warriors a plus two eighty, and then the Nuggets. This is for the conference. Yeah, what's the Denver three twenty three twenty So they're the second third favorite after Golden State. So it's it's Suns, Warriors, Nuggets, Lakers, Grizzlies, Kings. Kings are plus five thousand. I would throw five bucks on that. They have to win to night. They have to win

to night. But you know they win to night, all sad. That's a really good bat. Yeah. Don't you think they can beat the Suns. Anybody can beat the Suns. I don't know about that. So it was Howard Howard given a scrap because of the bench. Yeah, he's been following them since seventy two. Jay, I know more than you. Yeah, so what get in line? Right? Get in line from people who who know more than I do. Sons and Nuggets Tomorrow. The Nuggets are

the favorite. Yeah, minus two and a half, minus one forty on the money line in Game one in Denver. There's a reason why they won that they have the best record in the West, although Milwaukee didn't didn't do any of any favors because of you can be the best team in the league and still lose. Yeah. I mean, you know, when you think about, you know, the Celtics, if they get past the seventy six or you think that they're in the championship, game again in the championship series.

I mean the Knicks and the heat are on the other side. You know that. That's what a five in and an eight seed on the other side of the back. Look at you. You don't follow the NBA till now and give me follow a lot of playoffs? Man, how about that hockey? Well, I don't. I don't follow the NHL until they get to the Stanley Cup. You don't have a hockey guy, You have no hockey. I'm a big hockey guy. Oh yeah, Kings are probably my

favorite team Lao's I saw there. I remember watching their twenty fourteen double overtime winner in Game five. I was I was actually like, um, the second or third like Kings game ever went too? Was their banner Knight in twenty fourteen for their home opener. So did you used to live in la No, it's because I used to visit all the time there, and like, I never add an attraction to like the Phoenix Suns or like the Diamodas. Why why why the big USC fandom? My dad went there and it

kind of was like my dream school. And then I know, why didn't you go there? Because I didn't get any money back. Yeah you want to be a student. Yeah, smart kid. Yeah, good idea, I go here, smart kid? All right, all right, all right, you don't have Do you have usc stuff in your room? I do? He has, He has the trophy of He has the Hasban trophy in his room. Bush wants it back. By the way, seriously, you see some guy put up thirteen billboards to in LA telling the NC double A

to give Reggie Bushes no his Heisman trophy back. No, he's I mean, he owns a billboard company, so they're probably billboards that he doesn't have anything on. Right, put up third like something like thirteen billboards around that, LA said, get ncable A, give Reggie Bush his Heisman trophy back. You know he should get it. Come on now the rules? Hey what the hell? Yeah, there's what time when we couldn't go over? You know OJ is another story, right, but you give Reggie Bushes trophy

back? I think he is another story. Different, a whole different story anyways, and fun stuff. All right. So yeah, so I'm I'm you know, I don't know man Lakers and Warriors tonight. I mean they're both at home, so you feel like they both should win the Lakers were awful the other night. Yea, even Lebron come on, said because I played like s yeah, you know in the press conference. So here's your tip. There was I saw the biggest line or whatever it was on TV.

The thing to have, they said, one of the best bets. One guy said, I didn't bet this. Uh Lebron over fifteen rebounds, over fifteen, over ten rebounds, over ten rebounds, whatever is check the problem? Uh? But he said that was a pretty much a given. He's been averaging about fifteen. Huh, So that was one of them. I didn't have time to look at it, Sonny, I said, that's interesting. Yeah, all right, let's see what they got for a player of props on Lebron. Does anybody want to call please? Do? I

mean, you got stuff going down on any of these games? Victor? If you want to give j crap? Home said bad word. I'm not Pollyanna. I'm a lot of things, but I'm not Pollyanna. I'm I'm stop. It was fun hurting my feeling. I don't know if you if you go into Facebook today, but a friend of mine who's very a very staunch you a basketball fan, Patricia, she put a thing on Facebook Arizon a Wildcat basketball. I think it is uh talking about if you were a

fan or something like that, what would you do or given? Do you give money? Do you go here? This? Here? This? Five hours ago she put a vote, this is a sure question. Blah blah blah. Would you give ten dollars annually, one hundred dollars annually, a thousand dollars annually, um, some other amount in the in the comment section blah blah blah or zero nothing to the to the cause of nil. Right,

great question. She sent me this thing, and I says, well, even must have been listening to our show because we talked about it all the time. Okay, so ten twenty one percent would give ten dollars annually. Fifty six said one hundred dollars annually. Uh, thirteen percent one thousand annually, UM, three percent of some other and six percent said nothing, um. A one percent said fifty and one percent. Okay, there's been sixty votes, and that's that was a percent of just a lot of them,

a lot of them. Uh. We said, we already buy tickets that cost us ten thousand dollars. Just too much. We can be given more. Okay. The problem with that, Ja. And you know this because we've had the nil guy. That money for the tickets, that's not Nie, that's not Ani, but that's just ticket to the universe, the

universe and the universe. I don't think the people the university has nothing to do with the kids because they're pretty much did get their own or they pay or they have the Arizona Assists or other things chasing the money for them. Right, that money is not going to the app. So I think that people don't understand that that the Arizona you're if you're donated to the University of

Arizona, that's that's the athletic department, right. And they can't give to the students, right, I mean they get they give it to them and from you know, indirectly, right scholarships. You know, there's that that stipend that they're getting now and stuff like that. When you're talking about nil money, that's it's all separate, all completely separate, right. And she brought that up because she has some some friends in Kansas who give tons of

money to the kids. And then you say, hmm, well you know I wonder yeah, I mean I just wrote and well I didn't write a check I sent in. I submitted even hundred dollars best football football, some basketball due too, or I don't have I don't get basketball. Okay, that's okay. But you know I paid six hundred and eighty dollars for my for my ticket, uh four hundred dollars, but in fairness, only eighty that was mine because it was that was a contribute, you know, we

we we split, we split that up between five people. But you know, four hundred dollars for the tailgate pass, another one hundred dollars for those chairback seats you know in the bleachers. My wife and I get those are fifty bucks at these and then a ten dollars because they didn't because they didn't charge us enough or anything. There was a ten dollars processing processing fees. I paid eleven hundred and ten dollars. Is there a price? Um?

And you can get better seats too if you want to, right or in the central Is there a price? And you're you've been a fan all your life as far as you can remember, Is there a price? Would they would price you out? Or you're too big of a fan? Not too now they know I've always just you know because the tickets went up, right, ticket prices one And I didn't even ask. I don't I didn't even go look and see how much my tickets went up. I just know that

they did. And I didn't even look at it, you know. But you know what, dude, I'm not that guy that looks at the price of everything at the grocery store. This is what I want, So this is what I did. You know, I want this can of beans, or I want you know these uh, you know, I want this steak. It looks good to me. I'm not looking to see how much the price per pound is or whatever. Um. But you know, I mean,

I just we said where we sit. Um. You know, it's funny because we we've had a larger group and it was a lot larger group than it is now. And it's kind of like we sit where everybody feels comfortable pain for their tickets. Um. We did move in a section like three years ago, you know, we moved a little one section over towards the center. But I remember when I remember when, um, I don't know if you were here when maybe you weren't. When Cedric Dempsey introduced the

um you know, the uh, the premium. Yeah, yeah, I wasn't here, So we were we were sitting in section one. Odo, we gotta get out of here. We were sitting Section one or two across the way that section, and you were gonna have to pay an extra like two hundred bucks for those seats. We said, we're not doing that. So that's how we wound up in Section eighteen diagonally across the way. It was. It was the last section that didn't require a seat premium. Since

then, you know, we've we've sure everybody's doing allbars. So so your voice Section seventeen is that where you moved or no, we were in eighteen seventeen is the visitors section. Okay, we'll have more discussions about this on the other side when we have like twenty seconds. But I'm curious if you've lost you've lost some of the group because the prices, No, okay, then let's talk about some we've lost it. We've lost some of the group

because they haven't been any good. Okay, So that's another problem. Exactly, it's a different issue. Exactly, we gotta go. All right, let's take our break. We'll be back breaking news the top of the hour.
