Keeping God’s word fresh our mind, by daily reading, helps protect us spiritually.  God is on our side, but we are soldiers of Christ.  We have a role to play in keeping ourselves safe, growing, and cultivating blessings. Reading the word plays a vital role in keeping us safe. God desires to train us, but He cannot train us if we do not pick up the training manual. God wants to be closer to us, but He cannot draw nearer if we do not learn to harmonize with Him through the Word. The Word is the vital key that many disdain, and thus miss the purpose of life. Seeking God is the purpose of life (see episode 12 - The Purpose of Life - Really!) and the Bible is the map.
