Let’s Talk Halloween Fashion and Parties

friend on the show. I know you guys miss him, and y'all miss his energy and his jokes and just the way that he is. So I am glad to have him back. And today we're also talking about Halloween together. Hi Stevie, how are you? Hi boo? You're looking and crusts up all you're giving me clear up like a like say seminicanen. During this time, we haven't been, you know, doing the show together because I know you're super busy, have so many projects and so many things going on.

But because you now, oh my god, the kids are incredible. Me and baby are about to do a matching outfit for this weekend for the Halloween party that we got going on in Mikasa. We're about to be worthy Okay, worthy, Worthy junior and Worthy senior. You know, because if it wasn't for the worthy, I wouldn't he wouldn't be Yes, and today, but today I'm giving you Gemini. You know geminis. You know, two phase but but but my two faces are great. Okay, how about this, um Bosa, how has

life been for you? You know these couple of weeks, um that we haven't really been well. Ever since you've given me this opportunity to be on your pod cast and I was the co host, my life has changed enormously. I mean, you believed in me and not my life is really taking like it's really taken off. I'm getting all these deals and that's what we've been talking about. It's so funny because we talked about this on the prior episodes, how we got to support each other as

a Latin X community. And yo, that's what you've been doing. Because let me tell you, ever since you kind of like solidified me and on me talking about that, tell me what projects have you been working on or where do you plan on working on? Well? I do have a biopic that I'm producing. I'm gonna be executive producer. I can't talk about the artist, but if you know me, you probably kind of know a little bit. I'll just give you the artist was a person from the Bronx.

I almost gave it away that Jenny does know him, though, Okay, and then that's all I could give you. And then I'm also gonna have my talk, my own talk show, which is funny because your talk show is, um, don't cancel me, don't cancel me right where I'm out, and mine, because I feel connected to you, is gonna be like, might as well cancel me, Oh my god, because you know I'd be a mess. And I say what I want to say unapologetically. I'm not scared enough, you know.

Once you know that, once I'm in, I'm in, and I just feel like somebody has to be like a, don't cancel me. It's definitely different, though, don't cancel me. I think we have deeper conversations about like immigration and like, you know, I don't know body positivity, Like our conversation is a little bit different. But then I'm watching jail and I just think that you definitely need your own

show for something like that. But I wanted to be able to hit on some more serious topics, but we were actually giving some facts and things like that, so it different in there. I still would love to be able to have a platform I could be scanned as loud and be myself and then that's what I having exactly. Yes, And you know it's so crazy because I've been looking at you look amazing. First of all, you look every set, every set is like, wow, look at you. You're giving

us look you guys looks. I give you fashion, lights, camera, makeup thing no, no, because you know what not hear nothing. But after the pandemic, it really made me feel okay, I need to change things up and evolved a little bit more, trying new things. And I've been doing it and I feel grate, feel lovely worming. So girl, let me just tell you speaking about outfits, because girl, you know that, you know that you've been giving us looks.

For now, you've been giving us looks. But honey, it is Halloween this weekend, so honey, hunty, and one day of year that you could be a quit, you could be a whole is on Halloween. You could be Yes, you need that one day because you do it a year around ha ha for real, that's how do you laugh?

But honestly, um, there's so many great looks. I know every year I'm looking forward to like all the celebrities coming out giving us looks and giving us I mean, one year Kim Kardashian, I think she did Selena and people Beyonce, one year did Little Kim. So they has been like those wow moments, you know, can you tell me like are you gonna be dressing up this year? Or and if so, what are you going to be? Or are you like me last minute in the whole

world the day before. It's not that I'm being boring, It's just that every day I gotta work, and I think I even work on Halloween and I don't really have Oh no, give I'm out a day off something my other day off, like oh I get to sleep. It's like, no, you have this to do. And it's like, which I'm grateful because you have to take advantage of it. Haven't you been in those situations? But you're like, damn, why isn't it re calling me? I need to get booked.

I need to find something to do. And then there's other times when you're like, damn, everything is happening at the same time. So right now I'm in that stage. But I'm grateful for so no, and I'm not the way I'm Indeed, I've never really been the Halloween girl. I mean, they can full of blood, but I like the tricking part of it. Okay, come on now, for I got a trick for a treat, but that treat better that I enjoy seeing other people decorate their homes

give away the candy. Which, to be honest, now, with the coronavirus and everything that happened, do you think the kids are gonna be trick or treating? As a matter of fact, let me ask you this. You have two kids, will you allow your kids to go trick or treating and then go to stranger's house and pick up some candy? Coronavirus? So we are going to have a party because it is Joanna's birthday and we're gonna celebrate her birthday, but we're also going to do a trick a trating around

the area. But I'm gonna buy them their own candy, so I'm gonna let them do their thing. I'm sorry if I'm using other people's candy and I'm not gonna be using it, but what We're gonna have our own candy. But I still don't want to take out takeaway from the tradition. And you know, when I look at Halloween, I don't look at like look at it or tevilish like people do. I like to dress up. I like the part that you get to be who you want

to be. And that's very important, and that has always been an outlet because but it's really it's Halloween really for kids or is it for adults? Well, after a while girl adults, let me tell you, as an adult, I had much more fun for Halloween. Man. I had three costumes. I would party Thursday for college night, Friday for regular nights, and sometimes Sunday, like I would party it up the whole weekend, sometimes a week before. You know, we get because they didn't follow Stevie, you don't get

sending you seem didn't at the beach. Always about if you asked inside your house. Damn the coronavirus. You know, I can't. I can't be tied up and I cannot I cannot be locked in him. Oh my fine, but you know you do. We don't need whatever. I would definitely take them to or treating because I think it's stute for the kids. You dressed them off, but all they feel like, oh my god, I'm a princess, I'm

a monster. That's great as the adult thing that you can pay along, but all right now, it's dangerous out here in these streets. I want todo dressing up like you know, monster this than that. So then come, you know, finagle your kids, um do things to people. Oh my god, you didn't see that news that happened that they went to like a haunted house and then one of the actors there was using like a real knife. You didn't hear about that, and then actually stabbed the kid at

his feet. Wow, don't right now, girl, You're about to make me not want to take my kids. Dangerous out here and then you can't even tell who did what to who. So right now it's like I want to I want to enjoy this moment, you know, like a family moment. But I did we talk without It's also very dangerous Halloween, especially this year after the coronavirus and the pandemic and the people that were locked you know, lock up in their house. I know everybody's out here.

I mean the other day. Did you see that my cousins came up from came down from up North and they all dressed like nuns and I just like an angel. Did you get to see you? Like? It was so? But that's what it's about. It's about having fun. I don't like to suck up the fund from Halloween because let me tell you, Halloween is extraordinary. It's like the day that I love hallows even and let me to also wear a mask, okay, because now that you have

a real mask, you can get double protected. Now for nothing, I think everybody. I think everybody's sick of work for nothing. Like men, we still need to protect each other and we need to make sure game. As long as you're having fun, you're gonna be in these parties and needs in beds. I don't want to sound like the mom batto. You need to be in these parties, the hoping to strangers that you don't know all of in everybody's faces, like, let's also have fun, but still be aware that there's

still ship happening in the world right now. But let me ask you this TV when you were younger, like, what are your youngest memories of celebrating Halloween? While what I do remember is that my mother always made me either vampire or pip. She liked that crap, Oh, that's so cute, like a pumpkin, like this one, yeah, like a little top in the head. I was just like, mom, Oh my god, you know which ones are really cute?

Like um one day when I've seen like people do like outfits of their kids and babies as popping in. Oh my god, are you excited in the future when you ever have kids, are you excited like to dress them up amouta because that's like, no, of course, I think it's gonna be exciting to be able to, you know, share those things and and take a lot of pictures, a lot of memories, because memories not for nothing. These days. Everything is through social media, everything is through your phone.

You lose all your memories, and those memories are great to have of your children, you dress them up for Halloween and as an adult, but all make sure to try to print them out and save them because anything can happen with it. Anything that's all you got, that's all you got. Because girl, let's talk about this. What is you We gotta switch, we gotta switch all the shades. But listen on your birthday when they shut down. That's like a perfect example. On your birthday when they shut

down social media. Girl, I was like, I know, it's back to prainting, It's back to getting into the dark room, and it's back and I and you know that. My all my high school years, I was in the dark because I did graphic communications and we were like print out black one. I was like, everyone needs to print out photos because what if you miss all those memories. Look, you cannot be dependent on social media to save your memories.

Talking about Halloween, Um, during Halloween, is here anything you like to watch, Like any scary movies that you're into anything? Oh my god. So let me tell you I only lived Um, I grew up up north, So I only lived about two hours away from Salem, Massachusetts, where all the witches were at And let me tell you that's a tradition for us. We used to go every year. If you have not gone to Salem, I moved down to Florida. And that's one thing I do miss is

for up north, there is nothing like Christmas. And for up North, no, that would be so cold. That's why I have all the first So Salem is an incredible place. It's where they filmed Hocus Focused. Did you ever choke? Its focus? From Disney? The Sanderson sisters. Oh my god. They have location sites, they do tours, museums. It's like Universal Parker Disney or anything like that. Definitely for Halloween is such an experience. Oh girl, Yes, I think it's

called Hollow Scream Girl. That is amazing. But up north it's real like down here, Yes, Disney can make it look beautiful and you know, but this is a real place where they have real witches, you know what. I definitely love watching. I love watching. I was such a fan of Saal once too, so three I saw them all. I love to see it all like Sadongo in the freaking marking and then they would just cut off the finger and the leads. You know. I love all types of horror movies. Um those how I know, But I

like it to be really nasty. I'm okay with the blood and maybe feel like it's real. When it's like to um fantasy, I'll be over yes what I feel like it could really be me. I'm like, oh my god, put up your leg if he's coming for you around you look what you're right? Oh my god, you know which one scares me? I love you, you know which one scares me? Um thinning and in and and thing, damn and and and Michael Myerschael Myers is good. That was another one that it was on a monk, Michael Myers,

let me tell you. And they have a new one out in theaters right now, So go check that out in theaters. Shout out to the Halloween franchise that's been around for so long with Jamie Lee Curtis, and that one right there has scared my whole entire existence. It's more scared women or men. I love scary men, scary movies, our men like. I don't know our men as into what I'm guessing they are because men are more like

they like the gross stuff too. There have been so many movies. How about how about Chucky? I you, hey, daddy, We're going back into the whole fantasy. And for me, it's like the doll talk. I get it. He's cute, but I like more like realistic things where I'm like, oh, I'm scared that could be me, that

could be my next door neighbor. You know, I can't wait to see what you're gonna be. The scary movies they're gonna come out this year. Girl, Well, I know that Halloween already came out. Um, so it's already out right now. Um. But let me tell you you know which one freaks me out, Clouds for clowns. It it's the member back in the days when all those people are dressed in my clowns and they were actally crazy out in the streets. And then it came out the movie.

Did you watch the movie with the clown Stephen King came out with that? Oh my god, that was so scary. That didn't scared me down. Both are guys more scary than girls. No, I don't feel like I'm gonna hey y like I was a little It wasn't that bad. It wasn't that bad. And let me ask you something too, I want to get all. I don't know, do men dress up as much for Halloween than like women do?

And I feel like men always have like less choices to dress up for things that women Women we could be a butterfly and ah this do you guys have a lot of a lot of options? No, and absolutely not. I've been to like, you know, party stores, and there's

not a lot of options for men. I think women love the slutty outfits and they love yes, and they I love when they turn like man outfits into like women's slutty outfits, and they'll be like Dorothy, but the slutty Dorothy, or they'll be like a nurse, but the slutty nurse. I think that is so cool. But there's so much more options for women. And you're absolutely right, man, we don't have many options now. I wear costumes twenty

four Yeah, I know every day every day. Your outfit it's like you're going to Halloween every day every every day. Just shut that's somebody because I already wore like three and I'm about to switch to the big shade because you just gave me the biggest shade. So now I gotta go to banky arena. Are you gonna go to any parties, any Halloween parties. I'm gonna be doing a lot. And it's Joanna, my wife's birthday. Oh yeah, I have a wife, did we ever do an episode on that.

We spoke about it about it. Yes, but my wife is like my husband because she she is, She changes the oil and all of that. But how about this You were talking about your wife. So are you guys gonna dress up like the same as couples, you know for Halloween? Or what are you gonna do? You know as a couple, we have done that, but we're like in Halloween, you tell me, tell me what did you do as a couple for Halloween? Well? I didn't. I

told her. This year we did Disney. You know, Chloe's gonna do vill and I'm gonna do We're doing like Disney. She's gonna be the Witch. So it's kind of like kind of yeah, because me and Joanna we've been doing this for like fifteen plus years dressing up. So this year we kind of were like, let's you know, I'm gonna dress like my daughter and then you do something with your son. So Copatima we went half and half half. As have you ever dressed up as a woman or

something that's like women related? Has your daughter been like dad, what are you doing? Or she's like who oh my god? So I had Mac do my makeup um, I had a real Brazilian um with whatever I had. Listen, the way I looked was incredible, and my name was Caslature. I was card I was Cardi Bee's babies when they saw you, were they like, oh my god, what are you doing this weird? Or were they like, oh, this is my daughter is my biggest fan. I'm telling you

these is they're just they've taught. They've been taught like nine binary all of these these kids, your kids, all those things. Oh yes, I mean I don't try to like bombard them with things. I want my kids to be educated. I mean, I don't want my kids to be like, oh I don't like that, and everything be a culture shock and then she becomes like this miserable friend. No, I want her to be supportive and whatever. I'll tell

you this much. I don't know. It's not that I'm a party pooper, but okay, to the whole holway to dress up everything for the kids. I think it's cute. But for me, I just haven't gotten into it. And I think it has to do with my childhood. My mom was never not because she was religious, but she was never really into like the devils in the streets, be careful that it was like a brainwashing. I'm okay now, I just don't get it. It's like I'd rather wait

till Christmas or things giving. No, but you're right, But you're right. A lot of people don't celebrate Halloween because they say that it's the devil thing, or maybe it's just right. When I was really deep in church, um, we used to celebrate. We used to They used to call it harvest time, and it was like a harvest party and it was like a bunch of candy and pumpkins and stuff like that, so that the kids wouldn't feel not included, that, you know, at the whole world's

party and we're not partying. It wasn't the same, you know. And it was the same day. And when I was a youth minister at the time, I used to make it on the same day. Um. And if I had kids, I think I'll I don't want to be the mom party pooper and tell me as a parent, because you know, battle, I want you to dress as nice things. I don't want you full of blood. I don't want your face like a monster. I don't want you with guns. Am I doing too much? I know? That some parents, that's perfect.

I feel like you're a kid, You're supposed to have fun. Don't you want to be like a power ranger or anything like that. Like I would say, I would say, oh my god, I have to say this, and this is time, this is okay. We're always Superman. But then you see what they just released about Superman's son now in the new movie he's bisexual. That that he's bisexual, and I don't have an issue with that, because they keep saying, oh, now, the world keeps pushing this agenda

about the LGBT. I don't think that that is an issue. I think that this is a part of life and it's that okay. Like I took my daughter the other day to go see my best friend. I had to explain to her that my best friend this is my child friend that was his partner soon to be husband. So this is a thing. So like they keep saying, oh, pushing it is a thing. Now, there's a lot of people and when I think that they have always been here,

they were never hiding. I mean now they feel exactly more free to be themselves, right, but they were never hiding. I mean sense like we we we feel yeah, but like six but it's one of their bisexually, their gay trans all this has always existed, it's just that now it's more liberal, more open. And I thought, like you know, like and people always trying to talk about that is a thing because I know that Superman is one of those characters that kids enjoyed dressing up for Halloween as well.

So now I'm curious, you know, how many of those kids are actually going to be dressing up like um, like Superman's son. Perhaps maybe they're they're trying to let you know something, Mom, Dad, Hey, you never know. That could be a sign. And you know this month is um national coming out, So is your moment to yourself enjoy it and try as many looks as you want.

The want the world cut. So that's why talking about costumes, I already know that there's gonna be so many people are gonna trying to dress up like Kim Kardashi at the meg Galah. Everybody will be dressed up all in black, stretched out, So I already know that's one of the easiest outfits you can do at your house. What about

what is it called squid that game? Yes, squid Game on Netflix a lot of people are gonna, you know, not that the movie was denied and people didn't even want that movie on Netflix, Oh my god, on Netflix. And that's the outfit is gonna be pretty freaking cool. And you know which one else Koala deveiled on and I'm giving you Kolla today my name is. There's gonna be a lot of those. I can already imagine. There's gonna be a lot of city girls, a lot of

um oh, Lizzo. There might be some girls just like Lizzo or like Cardi B. There might be some girls that might be like I'm Ada because let me tell you a Mata, you've been killing it with all your looks this year that I'm a hundred percess. Sure that someone's gonna say I am. By the way, have people has anyone ever had a whole one to them? Which I'm always grateful people that admire me look up to me, and they like they get inspired by me to dress up.

And I you know, obviously said not as expensive, you know, because a lot of these outfits. That's another thing, let's talk about it. The prices of these outfits can get really expensive when the people are trying to do the most it's not that they get party city prices. They can to where this like one time and that's it. These outfits can get really really expensive. Expensive is hell

like the most creative, freaking outfit. They only were one time for a couple of hours, Nohl, and you gonna go to the supermarket the next jay, just like Halloween for the next month. I'm not spending all that money. Uh huh, girl. I love when they get creative. I think creative outfits are original, and I think that they make you stand out. You're not just wearing a regular you know, even though shout out to Walmart. I got my outfit from Walmart this year, and I never listen.

Walmart has some cute outfits and it was just you know. And let me tell you that being creative is it so listen and it's in and it makes you stand out. Those three things that part absolutely share me that Stevie, I'm not gonna lie. I am always so happy to have you back. I pray that eventually, at some point in life we can figure this out and you can come back and still be my co host and rock out with me because we have such a great bond,

such great energy. I'm not gonna lie. I missed you so much, but I know that right now you're working on your own projects. You have a lot of TV shows and a lot of things coming up your way, which I'm so happy and so excited for you.
