Episode description

This week we learn about the possibilities of space exploration, the benefits for agriculture and why global collaboration is so important – given that it’s expensive work.

Our evokeAG contributor Oli Madgett speaks with Earth observation scientist, Hugh Mortimer who leads the UK’s Global Research Innovation Partnership (GRIP) program, which recently visited Australia.

We hear about the collaborative work between the UK and Australia and why jointly funded space research will have a long-term benefit on agriculture and dealing with climate change. Think farm mapping, measuring above-ground biomass, bodies of water, climate and disaster forecasting and remote sensing.

We hope you enjoy their conversation and the exciting potential for a valuable bilateral science program.
