By combining pictures of naked women with serious, hip writing, Playboy challenged America’s repressed sexual values and took “dirty magazines” into the mainstream. But beneath Hef’s monogrammed smoking jacket and knowing grin there lurked a monster. This week, Chris, James and Michael throw Hugh Hefner into the grotto.
