Episode description

Religion? Business? Scam? In 1950, L. Ron Hubbard published Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health and subsequently founded what is now known as The Church of Scientology. Since his death, the church has seen no shortage of scandal and controversy under the apparent tyrannical leadership of David Miscavige. Still, thousands of adherents include the likes of Tom Cruise, John Travolta, & Elisabeth Moss. With all of the known beliefs, practices, and behaviors appearing so strange to the outside world, it is no wonder why there is so much intrigue.

This is Part 1 of The Fundamentals of Scientology.
