April is child abuse awareness month, and Everett wants to share some personal experiences of abuse. Everett also wants to get a message to those who were abused to know the warning signs and red flags, and to actively work to ensure they don't unintentionally pay-forward that cycle of abuse.

These are the warning signs of child abuse:
1. Little to no privacy
2. invalidating emotions and reality
3. Giving the silent treatment
4. Playing the victim card
5. Gaslighting
6. Threats of violence
7. Favoring a child over another
8. Being overly critical
9. Taking control of your finances
10. Emotionally Absent
11. Using guilt
12. Humiliation
13. Earning your parent's love
14. Taking away your independence
