Carthago. Delenda asked, hello and welcome to Everything's Political. I'm your host, tay A Shoemake. You can find us online at Everything's Political dot substack dot com. The email address for the show remains podcast at Everything's Political dot Org. Shout out to magic Man Joe Strecker, the General Winfield Scott of podcast Producers. General Scott Joe arguably one of the greatest soldiers in US history.

And I bring him up because to day, in eighteen forty eight, the criteria set within the Treaty of Hidalgo or sorry, Guadalupe Hidalgo went into effect today on this day and gave America New Mexico, Colorado, California, Utah, and Arizona not as they are today. That was the Gatson purchase, and in turn we gave Mexico fifteen million dollars a few other things in that treaty. And I bring up Winfield Scott because he was instrumental strategically and

winning that war. His career spanned from the War of eighteen twelve to the Civil War, if you can believe it. And I love this figure, colossal figure, because he exemplifies the point that we try to make here often, which is that you cannot experience excellence without experience. I'll just leave that there. So he was an amazing figure, Joe. He learned from the Battle of eighteen twelve, or the War of eighteen twelve rather how effective the

British blockade was, their naval blockade. He used that in the Mexican American War and also used it proposed it rather to Lincoln. It was the Anaconda Plan or Operation Anaconda, one of those, so brilliant, right, learned from experience. He did have, from what I read, a healthy opinion of himself. So you guys would differ there, Joe, because you were a very humble man. But hey, if it's earned, it's earned right, all right. So speaking of humility or not, or experience or not.

Wow Ah, someone sent me a piece and a mail and it really was flabbergasting to read. I'm going to try to contain my fervor, but wow. So a couple of things came to mind. We talked a couple of shows ago about living in the ad absurdom. I think rather we are living in the world of logical fallacies, because good Lord, there are logical fallacies all over this piece. I think that's how people communicate nowadays, it seems. But also another paradigm came to mind. Something my grandma used to

say. Don't give up what you want most for what you want right now. And if you got your head screwed on right, got your priority straight, you apply that paradigm at whatever crossroads you're standing. Typically it'll be a good decision making tool help you make the right decision. Let me give you an example. Don't give up what you want most for what you want right now. What I want right now? Okay, not really, but just for argument's sake, I love jeeps, old fashioned army sitting up high stick

shift jeep. Right, could I go buy one? Of course I could. It's going to muck up the budget, but I could buy. So what do I want most? I want to be able to control my money right, and that means controlling my impulse by not that I have any But you get the picture. So I could go buy the jeep that's what I want right now. But if I did that, I give up what I want most, which is at least the idea of financial security. I don't know. Money is all. Money is fake? Joe at this point,

but you get the picture. Don't give up what you want most for what you want right now. The hard part about that saying, I should say, the fulcrum of that saying is the caveat right. If you've got your head screwed on right, if your priorities are straight, that paradigm will help you as a decision making tool. So that's going through my mind as I'm reading this piece, and it's by a gentleman. His name is Wayne alan Root. I don't know Wayne alan Root, but you'll get to know him

a little bit more after this. So he starts out, Yes, it's true. I've been one of the most dedicated, passionate and loyal Trump supporters in the country for eight years now, since before he came down on the escalator in June of twenty fifteen. So I'll admit I'm a bit biased. I'm MAGA America first and Trump forty seven all the way. Okay, that's

great, God bless you have at it. Now he's going to get into it for tat with candidates here, and so I guess I should have also prefaced with you all know that I don't trust any man or woman vying for that much power. Actually vying for any amount of power, I don't care if it's school board, I don't care if it's a dog catcher. If you're vying for power, I am suspect of you. That's just my emma. So don't misconstrue this because I'm going to be fair and some of you

aren't going to like it. And I'm going to also say that two things can be true at the same time. Okay, So here we go, And why wouldn't I be Mister Root continues, Trump was the best president in my lifetime. He actually did what he said he was going to do. Okay, I agree with that to some extent. I would probably have said he tried to do what he said he was going to do, and I gave him credit for that because none of the past presidents on the Republican side

half. So it continues. He fought for the middle class. He brought manufacturing back to America. He made energy cheap and plentiful. He cut taxes and regulations. I would say the last one maybe a bit too much during Operation Warp Speed because now big farm it is not accountable for the vaccine injuries and deaths. But I'll continue he created a roaring stock market, He produced the lowest Black and Latino unemployment in history. He produced the greatest middle class

income growth in modern history. He won the trade war in China. He made America prosperous again. Okay, I agree with all that to some degree, and God bless him for doing it. The very next statement that mister Root could have written is and then and one fell swoop by handing Fauci the keys to the kingdom. He blew it all to hell, full stop. Everything that was accomplished was blown all to hell. Cut taxes and regulations,

blown to hell. You're non essential now. Now everything's more expensive because we got to print more money. Doesn't matter about the energy, doesn't matter about the manufacturing. You're all closed down. Forget the roaring stock market, forget the lowest Black and Latino unemployment history. You're non essential. Okay, We've got to be honest about our candidates or people aren't going to take us seriously. And if people don't take you seriously, you're not going to be able

to convince them to vote for your guy. Two things can be true at the same time. Trump could have done all of this positive Rara, whatever true and he could have lost it all because of the way he held prosecuted the pandemic. Got to be honest about because there are people who want answers, and if Trump is your guy, you're going to have to give an answer other than it's not fair, other than we owe him, which is one of the most dangerous sentiments a voter can have about a man vying for

that much power. And I don't care who it is. So did I mention he said what Trump did for the GOP. First, he pulled off the biggest upset in US political history beating Hillary Clinton. Okay, with all due respect, that was more about Hillary Clinton than Donald J. Trump. He got the most votes in twenty twenty ever by a sitting president of any Republican and added the most new votes to any president in history. We don't

need any other GOP presidential candidate in twenty twenty four. We already have one of the greatest presidents of all time for that role, and certainly the greatest Republican ever. Okay, Well, independence don't care about party unless the party is doing what it said it was going to do. The word Republican to me is synonymous with the uniparty, So that holds no weight with me whatsoever. Okay, he says, so now you know I'm a forever Trumper.

But interestingly, I'm not anti DeSantis like that is some big revolution. Why is that a big deal? We're going to find out implicitly here as we go on. But two things can be true at the same time. A thinking person can say, all right, Trump's my guy in the primary. But I'll tell you de Santis has done a hell of a job in Florida. I hate to lose him as a governor. And that's the way we need to do this. Trump's not doing that, but that's the way it

needs to be done. We can have a robust, knocked down, drag out primary without lying. I know that shocks people in the political world, but it's true none the less. I liked to Santis. Wainwritt says, I think he's the best governor in America. Every day he does something fantastic in Florida. He just passed e Verify. He banned Central Bank digital currency in Florida. He signed a new law demanding Florida public bathrooms be based on

biological sex to protect women. He protected innocent children from transgender brainwashing at school. He signed a new law eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion in Florida higher education. And he's taking the battle against transgender Loving Disney to New Heights and he did all that in a week. Are you getting the idea that I really liked to Santis? I do. He's fantastic. He's America's governor. Now here's where it switches. All of that is well and good. But

he won't beat Trump. Well, how do you know that? Answers? You don't. He has no chance zero, it's a suicide run. Well, then why are you writing this? Are you writing this to passively blame people for supporting their guy de Santis and the primary, because that's what he's going to do throughout this whole piece. He's going to blame you for supporting De Santis and not Trump, and you made Trump loose. It's brilliant passive aggressive play. So they're trying to clear the field. I get it.

And the GOP establishment, if they're not running things on the Trump side, it sure seems like they are, because wow, their handprints are all over this. Clear the field. If you can't clear the field, get as many candidates as you can to run and hope that you slip through the cracks to the win, promise all those other people who don't have a chance cabinet positions after the win. And another thing is to ignore your biggest threat attack

and or ignore Okay, and that just happens in different stages. So this next part I'm going to read is Saul Alinski one oh one, because this came out before De Santis announced, and it's everything Trump is already doing. So I want you to listen carefully because we need to understand this if we're going to have persuasive speech, not just because I want it to be this way. By running against Trump, now he will have to go negative about

Trump. Well, Trump's already done that before De Santis even announced. Trump went negative onto Santis after. I'll add De Santis stuck up for him against New York and if he goes next of about Trump, he'll thereby turn off enough Trump supporters to never be the twenty twenty eight nominee. So this is wait your turn, young man. This is if you turn off enough Trump

supporters, they won't vote. I got news for you. The twenty five to thirty percent of people who are okay with Trump pulling out a gun and blowing some guy away on Fifth Avenue. That's the ceiling. And the problem is that they will not vote for DeSantis if de Santis is the winner in the primary, and that's establishment GOP. They're acting like the very people they ostensibly hate because the GOP does that as well. Here's our guy. The grassroot says, okay, here's our guy, and then the GOP says,

okay, we destroyed your guy. We poured all our money into our guy. Now vote for our guy, and we usually do because it's better than a Democrat. But they'll never vote the grassroots way if the shoe were on the other foot, and most of them will tell you that because they would

rather lose than have a grassroots favorite in office. You could make that argument that that's why Trump didn't get a lot of things done, because the major hurdles occurred in his own party and people that he appointed by supporting an endorsing Trump. Now, mister Root says he will become the twenty twenty eight president elect and waiting, So which is it he can win or he can't.

He's saying he can't win against Trump but he can later on. Well, how about we find out it is that simple de Santis moment in the sun for twenty twenty four has come and gone. Then why are you writing this from the moment Manhattan da Alvin Bragg indited Trump? It became obvious that there was no other choice. Okay, that's a red herring. Good Lord, that missing link is with Darwin Trump is the only human being on earth who can defeat the deep state and save our nation. Well, how do you

know that? I think DeSantis has done a pretty good job in Florida, or even if it were Nicki Halley or Tim Scott. That's why the deep State, the DC Swamp, and virtually the entire US government is out to get Trump. Now here's where we enter the blasphemy, or near it idolatry. We need a miracle, we need God. Trump is that miracle?

Trump? Is that gift from God? Really, the man this piece continues is super human, only one of those walk the earth, Wayne, And you're trying to put your guy in his seat, So you may want to get a little introspective there. The deep state can demonize him, frame him and died him, arrest him, maybe even convictim, but they can't stop him. Well, we're going to find out, aren't they, aren't we. From the moment of Trump's indictment, DeSantis became insignificant, the incredible,

disappearing governor. So he loves de Santis. He's America's governor, but now he's mocking him and belittling him, much like Trump does to other people. And I get it, it's a primary. But again, could we get a little bit more mature than fourth grade? So the answer here, DeSantis became insignificant from Trump's that, No, he didn't. He became a big, bad mofo. He became an alpha because he stood up to New York

and said, no, I'm not honoring your indictment. You're not extraditing any of my citizens, including Trump, who, by the way, moved all his operations to Florida, so he must have thought DeSantis did a pretty good job. Or why I moved there, the free estate in the Union. And here's a big, great, big sweeping generalization. No one outside Florida cares what great things to Santas does in Florida anymore? Well that's not true, you know how I know that, because like America, there are more

people trying to get the Florida than get out of Florida. So that's just inaccurate. That's ridiculous. I'm all the way up here in Ohio. I care about what he does. You know why, because we have Lord farquad de Wine, who kept this state locked down for two years with his arbitrary and capricious measures on his little power trip. I want to know where the free states are, who's running them, and if they have a succession plan. And really, if Trump were smart and the people around him weren't a

bunch of grifters, that's what he would do. That's what he would say. Ron we can't lose your governor, buddy, Let's work this out. I know, I know, I get it. But my point is people do care because he's an exemplary governor. As Wayne just admitted, Florida is just a state, though, yeah, a big, badass red state that is well run. De Santis is like the home run King of Triple A. Trump already won the Triple Crap and World Series in the big leagues.

So I would remind people that this is exactly the same argument people made against Ronald Reagan in favor of Jimmy Carter. Reagan just runs a state. You gotta vote for Jimmy Carter. How'd that work out for us? You run a state, you know what you can do. Yeah, I get it. The dynamics are different, but it's experience. Nonetheless, so DeSantis runs a state. The piece continues, Trump is needed to defeat the evil deep state. It's so clear at this point, either or fallacy coming up.

It's either Trump or it's the end of America. I got news for you, Jack. We're there, we are there. But here's the problem. Oh, this is a useful sales tool, appeal to emotion. The windows closing. Our chances of saving America are shrinking minute by the minute. The only chance to save America is for Trump to win in twenty twenty four, and to do that we need unity. Well, then why are you writing

this? Let him hash it out. If your team would stop trying to destroy the other team, I'm sure we could get through it, at least get through the primary without being all but hurt. Primaries are not for unity. I got news for you, Jack, how long have you been involved? Five minutes? Come on, Unities for the general, whether we like it or not. Scrubbing my hands to the bone after having to vote for some of these people week long showers. But in the primary, although for

my guy. So he says, our only chance to save Sorry Joe Rohnde Santas, he says, is a distraction. Now he can't win, but he can divide the party, wound Trump and thereby ensuring Trump loses a general election. This is complete projection. In fact, I think they are already covering for their own loss. Trump'st one that went negative. I think he sees the internals. They're trying to clear the field because DeSantis is a threat. And you know if people again two things can be true at the same

time, Nicki Haley, Tim Scott, Rhonda Santis. They could be anyone's person in the primary, and if their person doesn't win, they can vote for whomever wins. Why is that unreasonable? The answer is this not unless you're in the fourth grade. So what is the Desantist game plan? Why is he announcing? Now? Is all this about ego and selfishness? Now that's rich? That is rich? Is this about bigger book deals and higher speaking fees? Well, I don't know, Wayne. How about we ask

President Trump what he did with the two hundred and fifty million dollars. We know it wasn't to combat fraud. You know, it wasn't to help any of the January six protesters. So talk about ego and selfishness. What does he mentioned January six people, once one of the most egregious crimes in all of history, that Americans were put in jail without due process, mentioned it. Check the box because people around him told him, Oh, it's more

important to keep your mouth shut so you don't get impeached. Really, that tells me a lot because those people were there to support you. Or is there something more sinister at work here? The people funding to Santis hate Trump. Okay, there's another sweeping generalization. They're mostly never Trumpers, DC swamp rats and deep Staters. They must know if we don't win in twenty twenty four, if you'll pardon the bad British accent, America is finished. It

will be a one party police state run by Big Brother. I got news for you. We're already there, protected by a weaponized federal government that bans all dissent and free speech. Yeah, we're pretty much there. Maybe the people funding to santists know all that maybe that's the plan, Joe, divide the GOP and make sure Trump loses in twenty twenty four. Yeah, my ninety three year old aunt gives money to de Santis hoping to destroy America.

Really, Wayne, really, maybe sacrificing DeSantis political future is part of that plan. Yeah. I don't think so. DeSantis is their sacrificial lamb. Now, who's he trying to convince DeSantis that's a joke. Unlike Trump, DeSantis has extremely quality people around him, even might say things with which he disagrees. Maybe DeSantis ego prevents him from seeing that he's being used by people

who do not have America's best interest in mind. That's rich as well, given that the deep state, the Republican side of the uniparty, and all of the people that the grifters around Trump told him to a point, played him like a stratavarius. I know one thing, mister Root says, there's only one path forward if we want to save the greatest country in the world again, false dilemma electing Donald J. Trump as the forty seventh President of

the United States. In order to do that, DeSantis must stand down for the good of the GOP and America. Well, what if it's the other way around. We're so arrogant in this country. We think God is always on our side just because we can flip him the bird for centuries, and his mercy and loving kindness is just going to endure forever. It because clearly not a lot of people have read the Bible. We think that God can only be for our candidate, not for somebody else's cannon. We think only

God can bless America, not curse America, despite our best efforts. So which is it? How do we know? Well, that's why we have primaries, one of the reasons. But what if it's the other way around. What if Jesus Christ shows up at Trump pleasant says, first of all, get out of my seat. No, second of all, you're going to lose the general, get out, get out of the primary. Would Trump do it? Of course not, because he thinks he's owed. And

I can't think again of a more perilous mindset of an electorate. Then we owe a candidate, folks. The only thing we may owe to earthly men, other than to respect their own rights to life, liberty, and property, is to soldiers who bleed for this country. What we owe them is to be Americans worthy of their sacrifice, and that means making sure that we don't lose the very liberty here that they're told they got to fight for overseas.

And yet, Joe, that's what we've done, isn't it. Look At the end of the day, the electorate deserves answers, and those issues are not going to get resolved or addressed unless someone runs from Trump's right now, If that's Nicki Haley and Tim Scott, I've yet to see it, but I do know it's Rhonda Santis I don't think that's even debatable. But two things can be true at the same time. We can still have our

favorite, but that doesn't make them perfect. So I would just ask whatever person you're behind, Tim Scott, Nikki Haley, Rhonda Santist Trump, what could my candidate have done better? What would I have had them do better over the last five years or whatever? Okay, now, let me compare that to the person I want to destroy just to get him out of my way, because that old paradigm kicks in. Be careful what you criticize in

others isn't something you envy or recognize in yourself. So what does that candidate do well, what does mine do well? What does the other candidate not

do so well? What does my candidate not do so well? And maybe we can come to this unity about which Wayne writes after the primary, because I think we can all agree voting for the chair in which you're sitting or the car in which you're sitting right now will probably be better than voting for whatever is going to be on the other side, And that'll depend on whether or not they successfully destroy rfk JR. So it'll be an interesting race.

I just want to prevent this ridiculous communicating through fallacies. It's either either or straw man sweeping generalizations. It's intellectually lazy, and it's embarrassing. And the degree to which we play along with that is going to signal to the world how serious Americans are about getting this country back on track. So whatever candidate is yours, be real about them, because there is only one king and only one successful monarchy that will ever take place. Okay, I'll stop there.

Thank you for listening. As always, Thank you to Magic Man, Joe Strecker, General Winfield Scott of podcast Producers. Until next time, everyone who will stand at either hand and keep the bridge with me. Thanks for listening,
