Episode description

On this Jason Ringenberg Interview, Jason talks about growing up on a working hog farm in rural Illinois, moving to Nashville without knowing a soul there, the tremendous financial & personal challenges of getting The Scorchers up and running, backstory to songs on his new LP… the frustration of “Supposed to become the next big thing,” lightening up, learning to enjoy the ride & more. VERY cool convo!

Jason formed Jason & The Scorchers in Nashville, in 1981. Known as one of the most exciting live bands of their era they released 13 LPs and were the first band to fuse punk and country. Jason has also had success as a solo artist, releasing 5 solo LPs. He also created Farmer Jason, an Emmy-winning children’s music character. His latest album Stand Tall was written while he was participating in the Artist in Residence Program for the National Park Service at Sequoia National Park
