Episode description

Who gets to decide what is best for you?  You or God?  We can respond in one of three ways. First, we can respond in pride which says to God: "I know better on this one."  Second, we can respond in fear which says to God: "Thanks but no thanks, I know how to meet my needs better on this one."  Or, third, we can respond in faith which says to God: "You know better."  In our journey with God, pride and fear warp obedience, dilute God's authority and assist the Devil in his schemes. Today's culture encourages this type of "self" management.  You do you.   It's subtle, rational, and self-justifying in the moment.  When we act like this, the Bible says that we cease being Christians and start being consumers.  We get to decide what's best.  The clay replaces the potter.  The branch starts acting like it's the vine.  The sheep start telling the shepherd  what to do. Scripture reveals a God who did not consider our special circumstances or opinions when he declared his will or desire for the different dimensions of life.  In fact, He expected us to take what he says SERIOUSLY.  The alternative?  Borrowing trouble.   This powerful series explores men who did and did not take God's direction seriously providing powerful lessons for God's man.  In this cultural moment, spiritual consistency and a willingness to surrender fully to God's intentions radiates his light.  Will the world see yours?
