The modern world is a noisy one. The most immediate consequence of a lot of noise is that you can't communicate with anyone in its presence. The immediate solution is equally simple if you want to connect with, hear what someone is saying, and advance the relationship. You remove the noise by removing yourself from it. Every one of us has done this. Think of being in a noisy environment and someone important is calling you. What do you do? You remove yourself from the noise because you care about who is on the other end of the call and you want to hear them clearly! You create space to hear - or you miss a vital source and moment of input that affects your life. If God truly is the most vital source of input in your life, you will create a quiet space in the midst of the noise - or not. The Bible says the consequences or blessings that come from not doing or doing that are guaranteed. Strong blessing follows true hearing. But true hearing requires strong action to create real quiet like Jesus did.
