Today's reflection is on my main takeaway from the book Calling up by JP Nerbun. There are many lessons to be learned from it, but the biggest one I took away was the idea of letting our athletes struggle and supporting them through that struggle, rather than trying to lower the obstacles and difficulties they face.

"No written word, no spoken plea can teach our youth what they should be, nor all the books on all the shelves, it's what the teachers are themselves." Today's see one, do one, teach one is my reflection and thoughts on John Wooden's favorite poem. I think it's a great summary and reminder that we are examples and teachers 24/7, and people will notice who we are and what we do, and more importantly how we make them feel much more than what we say. I also touch on love and it's place in our purpo...

I'm reading Mother Theresa's autobiography, and one of the first lines that stuck with me was a quote from one of her early mentors, Father Jambrekovic which was "Joy...was the compass that pointed in the direction of life."
