Passenger demand has soared in recent weeks after all Covid restrictions - including testing and self-isolation requirements - were lifted in England. Budget airline EasyJet has cancelled more than 220 flights, blaming the disruption on high levels of staff sickness due to Covid. A British Gas lawyer has won a sex discrimination case after she was made redundant when her female bosses decided she had been 'less focused' since going part time after having triplets. Intellectual property specialist Gemma Long was let go from the energy supplier after her managers - who were also lawyers - put pressure on her to work on her days off. A head midwife was sacked after she referred to overweight women as 'bloaters' and 'whales on a bed', an employment tribunal heard. 'Bully' Jennifer Stillman created an 'awful atmosphere' on the ward at Basildon Trust University Hospital as she also made derogatory comments about her fellow staff, the panel heard. A protester from Just Stop Oil glued themselves to a radio microphone while live on air this morning. Climate activist Nathan McGovern, was speaking to Tom Swarbrick in LBC's Westminster studio when he glued his hand to the microphone at around 11.40am. Industrial action by Spanish lorry drivers has disrupted the supply of salad vegetables and soft fruits including tomatoes, peppers and lettuce into Britain. It comes as the the UK's biggest cooking oil bottler has also warned it has just a few weeks' supply of sunflower oil left as the Russian invasion of Ukraine is disrupting exports
