Uranus in Gemini + Full Moon in Capricorn

Welcome back to the Essential Astrocast. I am your host, Veronica Perretti, and this is the podcast that you listen to when you want to know what's going on in the heavens, so that you can dictate your fate down here on earth. All right. Folks, it is another big banner headline, astrology News Day.

Uranus has entered Gemini, so I'm recording this on July 7th and this week we have the last piece of the puzzle. Coming into place that we've been waiting for for 2025, which is Uranus entering Gemini. So if you remember back to the beginning of the year, I talked a lot about how this year is like the big blockbuster movie trailer. So we're watching the trailer, we're getting a taste of all of these outer planets, in these new signs. Now Pluto is an Aquarius. For good for 20 years, we know that.

But Uranus and Gemini, that's a visit. Uranus will retrograde back in a Taurus later this year. and Neptune in Aries is a visit Saturn. In Aries is a visit. They are visiting the early degrees of these signs, and then they're gonna retrograde and go back into the late degrees of the previous signs. So this summer we're getting a taste of what 2026 and beyond is going to be about, as at least with those. Three planets.

But there's something else that's really interesting that's happening now that Uranus has entered Gemini. We have this minor grand trine in the sky that is forming between the three outer planets, and those are the planets that have to do with transcendence because they're the planets that we need a telescope to see. They weren't discovered until we, had the technology of the telescope, so Uranus.

Neptune and Pluto are forming this minor grand trine, which means that Uranus is in a trine with Pluto, and then Pluto and Uranus are both sextiling Neptune. So these three planets are what we call generational planets or outer planets. They give us the big banner arching themes that tell us about where we are in the history of humanity in society. really big arching advancements progress. Regressions.

So this is big stuff and it's very interesting that these three planets are going to be in this harmonious minor grand trine. What summer dubbing the Magic Triangle from now July, 2025 through June, 2028. So this is a long time and we are going to unpack this, but it's certainly important. I'm gonna talk about it more in the coming weeks. I have to research it a little bit more, but I just wanted to drop that in there because.

A lot of what I'm gonna say about Uranus and Gemini is going to feel overwhelming. Maybe it's going to feel frightening. but Uranus and Gemini, we haven't seen with this magic triangle, with this minor grand rine in play. And with this in for so long, in ply with the three outer planets, the three transcendent planets. so it's really interesting. It's an interesting thing to keep your eye on. and I'm gonna talk about it more. I'm gonna research it more. We'll have lots more to say.

as far as last week, just to take a moment to ground ourselves in the reality of this. Last week I was exhausted. Neptune stationed to retrograde. We are entering retrograde season. Hello. So remember the beginning of the year we were like, oh my gosh, these retrogrades, The beginning of the year we had, Mars and Venus retrograde, and those are the most challenging retrogrades 'cause they happen the least frequently. The outer planets spend about half the year retrograde every year.

So it's not a big deal. But last week, Neptune retrograded and when one of these planets further from earth stations to retrograde, it's not a big deal because they spend half the year retrograde from our vantage point on earth. But when the planet stations, it means it slows down. It appears to stop and then move backward. When that planet stations, whether it's to retrograde or go direct, it can feel. Like that planet is really sucking our attention to it.

It really feels like that planet is just more deeply felt. And last week several of my yoga students were saying how they were so exhausted and I was so exhausted and my son was so exhausted, and I was just thinking, how is it possible that we're all feeling this exhaustion? And I think it was because. Not only are we living in quote unquote unprecedented times, when are we gonna, I would love to start living in unprecedented times, by the way.

But, with this astrology, there's no way there we're gonna be living in unprecedented times. So, last week we had, we had Neptune Station, and not only did we have Neptune station, but we also had, We also had Venus join with Uranus at 29 degrees Taurus the same day on Friday the fourth. So last week, all in all was a quiet week astrologically until we got to July 4th. You did not hear from me because I was just exhausted.

And then of course, all the action was on July 4th, which was a holiday and

all that. So we had Venus joining with Uranus, which makes for breakup energy. So you probably heard about someone breaking up or someone maybe letting go of a job or someone unexpectedly deciding that they're going to do something new in their life or maybe change their hair color or. Move across the country. Venus is our values, and Uranus brings unexpected change and sudden change. And that's what we're gonna be talking about today.

And that was kind of like the last hurrah, but not quite, because Uranus will retrograde back into late Taurus and in 2026, Venus will meet Uranus at. 29 degrees Taurus One more time. So it's not the last time we're gonna see it at 29 Degrees Taurus, but. there was some finality to something for many of us on Friday. and it might have been an internal experience, like I, Uranus is the co ruler of our nervous system along with Mercury. So for me, I had some stuff going on.

I was just like, okay, this is the boundary that I'm gonna keep in this relationship. I don't need to say it. I don't need to talk about it, but it's clear for me and it's clear for the way I'm gonna manage my emotions. And that was my experience of Venus Conjunct Uranus.

We also had the big ugly bill pass in Congress, and that made me really angry It also, you know, feels very Neptune retrograde because Neptune is the dissolution, Neptune is the dissolving of structures, and we, that was the day Neptune. The July 4th was the day that Neptune retrograded, and we were really feeling that. And Venus being our values and our money. Uranus joining with Venus, it feels like, you know, a big sudden change in.

what is valued by our government and where our tax dollars Venus money, are going. So not to get too mired in the past, but I just wanted to set the stage because we didn't talk last week. and those were some big things that weren't happening on July 4th. And for a lot of us, July 4th felt a little bit strange this year, and it was strange because we had Venus join with Uranus and we had Neptune stationing to retrograde. So it was a strange vibe.

regardless of what's going on in the news, the astrological cosmic energy was just a little bit. Funky. but today, the seventh, as I'm talking to you, Uranus has already entered Gemini. This is the first time since 1941 that Uranus has entered Gemini. Uranus was in Gemini from 1941 to 1949. So I want to share a little bit about that with you. I'll also mention that Venus, Venus has really been up to stuff. She also sex tiled.

Saturn and Neptune yesterday on July 6th, and now she's in a trine to Pluto. So Venus is. Getting around. You know, she's talking to the big guys. She's like, what's going on? I'm strategizing over here. how am I gonna make moves? Now that Venus is in Gemini and she's talking to everybody, she's having chats, she's strategizing, she's making notes, she's looking at things in new ways. You might be looking at relationships in new ways.

You might be feeling differently about what's important to you. you might be, shifting your priorities, in terms of what you spend your resources on. Those are all things that could be going on with Venus talking to all the big guys.

Okay, so let's dive into Uranus and Gemini. I'm not gonna get, like, hopefully I'm not gonna get too mired in too much of it today. I don't want this to be an extra long podcast. But I do want to make sure that you feel informed. So Uranus is. Now in Gemini, Uranus is associated with words like revolution, breakdown to breakthrough upheaval, radical change. Remember, radical doesn't just mean drastic or dramatic. Radical comes from the. Literally the root word root.

So in astrology, the natal chart is considered the radix chart. So anytime you have that RAD, that is from the root word. Literally root, ROOT. so it's the fundamental. So radical change is fundamental change or change to the fundamental systems change to something that is the root, the source, sudden unexpected progress, innovation. Social change. These are all keywords and themes that come up with Uranus. I think of Saturn as the rule maker and Uranus as the rule breaker.

And in astrology, many people consider Uranus to be like the higher octave of Saturn. I also think of this as, in art. I think there is a principle of you learn the classics of how to draw and paint and sculpts, and once you are. Traditionally trained in the classics, you can break the rules and innovate. And I think that's the same probably in the culinary arts or music or any, any art form.

you learn the tradition, you learn the the tried and true way, and then once you've mastered that, you can break those rules Be effective. so that is sort of how I feel about Saturn and Uranus and their relationship. 'cause remember, Saturn was what we considered to be the boundary of the universe because for a long time, Saturn was the furthest planet that humans could see. And then with the wide adaptation of telescopes. Uranus was discovered in 1781.

Funnily enough, Uranus was discovered in 1781 when Uranus was in Gemini, according to astrology and the tropical Zodiac. So that was during, the American Revolution and the French Revolution. We had Uranus and Gemini. at the same time we had Pluto and Aquarius. That we have not experienced since the founding of the United States. And not to make this like a history lesson in the United States, but the United States chart, we are in our Pluto return.

If you've been listening to this podcast for years, you've heard me talk about it ad nauseum. You're probably sick of hearing about it. but we entered our Pluto return. There are differing opinions on this, but let's say we had our, like true Pluto return 2022.

we were certainly feeling it before that and now some astrologers have stopped talking about it because there's a feeling that, okay, well we've already had the Pluto return, according to the chart, what we call the Sibley chart or the birth chart of the United States of America, where Pluto was at 27 degrees Capricorn. But I feel that we are still in our Pluto return because Pluto was at eight degrees of Aquarius when the American Revolution ended.

So at that time we had Uranus and Gemini and Pluto and Aquarius because both of those astrological signatures are in the birth chart of the USA, which is. July 4th, 1776. So with that in mind, just keep that in mind that this is the first time that as a nation we are experiencing the a Pluto return period because we're a young nation. But along with the Uranus return, because we've had Uranus return, the last Uranus return, for the US because Uranus is in Gemini in the US chart.

So the last Uranus return for the chart of our nation, assuming you're American. Of course some people are not American or don't live in America. So for those of us that do, for our country, the Uranus return, the last one was World War ii. Previous one was the Civil War, and the one before that was the Revolutionary War, the American Revolution. Um, but that was on a return, that was the beginning of the country.

So that was the previous time that Uranus was in, Gemini was when the country was founded, because Uranus takes 84 years to go around the zodiac. So many of us are lucky enough to get Uranus returns. and some of us aren't. some notable people that are having their Uranus returns Donald Trump because of course he's very Uranian. He is a son in Gemini and his son is conjunct Uranus in Gemini. He is the embodiment of this Uranus return for the us.

I would say he's the embodiment of our Pluto return. we are experiencing something that not many people have experienced and it is exciting and also frightening. a lot of people are going, a lot of astrologers are gonna talk about. How every time Uranus is in Gemini, the US is at war. that might be true, but I wanna widen our perspective on that because Uranus is a force for change. That change is sometimes good, that change is sometimes bad. But we are here.

We chose to incarnate and be on the earth at this time. We get to play a role. We have power, especially with Uranus and Gemini at the same time that Pluto is an Aquarius because they are creating this trying to one another. Which means they're working together. Pluto in Aquarius is also interested in revolutionary thoughts and ideas and breaking down barriers and social activism and all of those things. Now, nothing in astrology is good or bad. These are patterns that we see.

These are key words associated with these transits. We as human beings have free will. We are the ones that write the history. So yes, we can look at Uranus in Gemini and say, oh, every time Uranus is in Gemini, there's big wars that the US is involved in. Okay, so how are we going to make this time different? Maybe we are already in World War iii. That is something that people are saying. I'm not saying that to frighten you. I'm saying that to say.

We have choices right now as to how we show up as to how we spend our dollars, as to how we use our resources as to what we give our attention. we are not sitting here victims of the astrology. The astrology is a mirror for what is happening. It gives us an opportunity to reflect back and to make better choices. So you're listening to this podcast 'cause you wanna know what's coming, so now you know what's coming. You know that it's a volatile time.

Uranus and Gemini often, increases this feeling of us verse them because Gemini is associated with some of these keywords, duality. Connection, thoughts, language, communication words, siblings, neighborhood, children, and early education, variety, multitudes and exchange of ideas. So because Gemini is associated with the duality, the twins, or variety or several of something, it often means that, there can be a hard and fast. This is what I think, this is what you think. I'm right.

You're wrong. But that's like a very low shadow experience of Gemini. The highest vibration of Gemini is being able to see all of the different perspectives and see that there are many ways of seeing one thing. So I always give this example that in yoga, the rishis were the seers because they could see something from all perspectives. They were considered wise because they could see it in all the different ways.

And when you can see something from various perspectives and not necessarily judge those perspectives or attach yourself emotionally to one, then you can rise above it and be a force for logic. so I think that. This is really interesting. Uranus and Gemini is going to give us a masterclass in witness consciousness, how to rise above the, this is right, that is wrong. I like this. I don't like that.

And to watch the movement of not only our mind as individuals, but watch the movement of our collective mind and see where the energy and attention flows. And with that, Uranus and Gemini, it's gonna be more important than ever for you to have a practice in getting quiet, getting clear, feeling embodied. Because Uranus and Gemini is very cerebral. Anything in Gemini is gonna make us go into our head.

It's gonna make us feel, A little bit restless, and it's gonna make us kind of jump around and think about lots of different things. It also is a force for innovation. It's also a force for creative thinking. So we wanna make sure that. We're utilizing the energy in a positive way that it can help us move forward.

But if we get stuck in allowing our attention to jump from thing to thing, which is what we know is already going on, thanks to social media, thanks to all the apps, thanks to the phone, which has us all addicted, thanks to, all the streaming networks. Thanks to the fact that. All of us are getting news and information from these algorithms that are created to, um, just have us doubling down on the same thing that we already think.

Uranus, we, we've already experienced that Jupiter and Gemini the past year has been like a preview of what Uranus and Gemini is gonna be. So Jupiter and Gemini expanded that echo chamber. Type way of getting information. Uranus and Gemini is gonna hopefully help us break through that so that we can experience some form of liberation or freedom, because at the end of the day, the whole point of Uranus is to help us break through and experience liberation.

One of the most fundamental parts of Uranus. Is about breaking the boundaries, so. if you're interested in this and you wanna, learn more about it, there is, a wonderful book which is very dense and very heavy by Richard Tarus called Cosmos and Psyche, and he talks about the Uranus Pluto cycle and Revolution. How every time Uranus and Pluto comes together, there's big shifts in humanity.

and that book has been created into a series, like a, a, you know, movie series, television series that I think you can buy. I saw it when it first came out and it was free. Um, and it's called The Changing of the Gods, and you can check that out if you're interested. It's super, super interesting and I think, many of you would really enjoy it. okay.

So remember, this is a time to double down on the practices that help you feel like you can gain some quietude, to feel some stillness, to remember that the earth is holding you up. You're not holding up the earth, the practices that help you. Feel that and receive that are gonna be really helpful. So if that's meditation, if that's yoga, that's going for a run, if that is, you know. Being with someone you love.

If that's just like having a complete silent cup of coffee in the morning, whatever that practice is, that helps you feel embodied, quiet, calm, grounded, that's gonna be more valuable than ever. Okay, so some things you can expect from Uranus, in Gemini, we will have. Undoubtedly medical and scientific advancements because, Uranus and Gemini is training Pluto and Aquarius, as I mentioned.

And both these signs are air signs, and air signs are associated with the intellect, with the minds with fresh, innovative ideas, with the exchange of ideas and the exchange of information. we're gonna see technological advancement, of course, that we can't go without talking about ai. AI really, sprung up seemingly out of nowhere, even though we've been using AI for many years without knowing it. the large language models like Chachi, PT, and Claude.

And now Gemini, all of these ones, they seemingly popped out of nowhere, even though that's really not the case. But they really gained steam once Pluto entered Aquarius. So while that is a very big Pluto Aquarius story, Uranus and Gemini is going to show us how we can. Experience breakthroughs using that technology. And we might experience a lot of breakdowns, 'cause remember, Uranus breakdown to breakthrough. So we're gonna see AI dependence as well as ai.

Reluctance, people who don't wanna use it. We're already seeing that. We have a lot of people who don't wanna use it. There are studies that it makes your brain, lazy. Basically your brain doesn't, your brain starts to atrophy if you use it all the time. there are people having obvious using it in. negative ways that are negatively impacting their lives.

and you know, that is to be expected whenever there's new technology and there's no regulation and, people are kind of figuring it out and we're all figuring it out together. but I think that while AI is going to completely rewire. Our ways of connecting with one another and the ways that we receive information, the way that we do research, I think we will learn ways to utilize it that are profound. Perhaps, big medical marvels and advancements when it comes to medicine and science.

Perhaps the climate crisis. We saw the climate crisis really. Come to a peak, come to a head with Uranus and Taurus, that horrible flood this weekend in Texas that occurred with Venus and Uranus conjoin at, 29 degrees Taurus. so we have to look at what do we value, what's important to us? If the life of human beings is important to us, then we need to invest in this infrastructure that will protect human life. So, Uranus and Taurus was the wake up call in terms of climate, the climate crisis.

perhaps Uranus and Gemini will bring some technological advancements in helping us mitigate. that situation. we know that deep fakes are a big thing, you know, the misinformation and disinformation from false videos and false images are a really big deal and that really expanded in the past year with Jupiter and Gemini. And we will probably see the attempt to. Dismantle that, or at least regulate it, I hope.

Remember, Uranus breaks boundaries, but Uranus also helps us innovate and progress forward. so radical reinvention is. Probably on the agenda, on the menu for lots of different things. if you have a lot of Gemini in your chart, if you have Gemini placements, like your sun, your moon, your personal planets like Venus, Mars, if your ascendant or your descendant, or your midheaven or your IC is in Gemini. You might experience a radical reinvention in some part of your life.

If you have a friend with a lot of Gemini in their chart, they might radically reinvent themselves. there might be a big change that comes suddenly and unexpectedly, and it could be something really good, could be unexpectedly getting pregnant or unexpectedly changing your career. it also could be. Something not good? It depends. I always say that Uranus is an equal opportunity, pot stir, and, he really is.

But it's up to us to ground our energy, stay conscious and utilize this Uranus and Gemini energy in a positive way. so be on the lookout for unexpected changes and, prepare yourself. Remember being in a grounded, regulated state and really managing your nervous system is gonna help with everything going on astrologically and also in the world. some other things I just wanted to note is that we often see big. inventions pertaining to communication with Uranus and Gemini.

One of them was the printing press in 1440 and, the other was the Transatlantic Telegraph cable in 1866, so I'm sure there were other ones more recently. I have to do a little more research on that, but, just to say, I think that. We will see big shifts in how we're communicating with one another, even though that seems sort of impossible because communication is so easy. now with FaceTime and everything else, which we really couldn't have imagined 20 years ago.

so be open and curious to experience the change instead of resisting the pull. That is my best advice to you. be open and curious to experience the change instead of resisting the pull. The purpose of Uranus is to aid us in experiencing our own liberation. So we have to come back to that time and again when things feel chaotic because they will feel chaotic. 'cause Uranus and Gemini is chaotic. We have the embodiment of that in the White House right now.

That chaos, energy, we have been feeling it for 10 years already. So yeah. So that's Uranus and Gemini.

Other stuff going on quickly. Full Moon is on Thursday, so we have a full moon on the 10th. the full Moon is at 18 degrees of Capricorn. The sun is in cancer, so of course the full Moon is exactly opposite in Capricorn. what's interesting is this Full Moon is creating a mystic rectangle with the nodes, which just basically means they're creating this, rectangle in the sky with these imaginary points, the lunar nodes. And generally, mystic rectangles offer a sense of clarity.

And because it is a full moon in Capricorn, it's gonna be clarity around your responsibilities. It's gonna give you a sense of pragmatism about what you wanna do. Capricorn loves a plan. Capricorn loves to have a vision of the future. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, which is associated with. Rules and boundaries and structure, and this full moon could illuminate where possibly, the structures need to be adjusted. We now have all of this change energy. We now have this, we've entered.

This period of time where we're working with all of these outer planets, talking to each other. So maybe you get some clarity on what structures you want to build during this time, and what needs to be changed, but also what boundaries and structures need to be fortified because. the full moon is an illumination. Full moon brings illumination to the dark. So what are you seeing around this full moon in Capricorn on Thursday?

What are you seeing this week that needs to be shifted and changed or fortified and built up? So let that illumination. Show you the path forward. I think this full Moon is gonna offer us a lot of clarity. We have a lot of fire and air in the sky. A full moon in a nice Earth sign is hopefully going to give us some grounded, realistic perspective on what we need to do next. The right next step.

The other thing to mention is that we are officially in retrograde season, which means that all the outer planets are on their way to retrograde. So. we have Saturn now Retrograding on Sunday, be a Neptune retrograde last week on Friday, and now we will have Saturn retrograde on Sunday. this is an invitation with Saturn newly and Aries, so he will retrograde back into Pisces, but he will be in Aries for a while longer as he slows down, stops and turns around from our vantage point.

Get honest about what you're responsible for and get honest about what you can have on your plate and what you can't have on your plate. I think that's a good use of our attention being drawn to Saturn because as I said at the beginning of this episode, when a Planet stations. It draws our attention to that planet and what it rules. And Saturn rules are boundaries or limitations, our responsibilities or structures.

So what is on your plate and what's not on your plate, and what can you really handle? Be really honest about what you can handle right now. because Saturn and Aries is also an invitation to honor our. Autonomy or individualism. So if you need help, might be the time to ask for it.

so that's what I got for you today. I know it's a long one. I know there's a lot happening, but I hope it is helpful. I'll be back next week and I hope you are doing great. I hope you are managing the shifts and the waves and everything going on in the world. And I know everything feels really dire. I know that I have been feeling a lot of anger. change is not easy, but we know that all of the astrology is pointing the finger toward change.

Something that Heather Cox Richardson said the other day is. In reference to, I think someone asking when will this be over or is this country over? She said something to the effect of, well, the good guys always win in the end and the good guys haven't won yet, so it's not over. And maybe that is super optimistic, but. Looking at the astrology, I'm generally on the side of being an optimist.

'cause remember I have a lot of Aries in my chart and generally we are pretty optimistic folks, but that minor grand rine, what we're calling the magic triangle, it gives me a lot of hope that we are in the process. Of transcendence and things always feel darkest before the light. So with that, I hope you have a wonderful week that you take care of yourself.

It's still cancer season, which means it's all about nourishing and nurturing yourself, your body, eating well, making sure you're hydrated, getting enough sleep.
