Introduction and Milestone Celebration

Hey there. This is Veronica. And before we get into the essential Astrocast today, I just wanted to tell you thank you for being here. This is my 200th episode. Of the essential Astrocast, and this podcast started as a Facebook and Instagram live back in 2019, and I started taking those lives and putting them out as podcasts and then eventually just went straight to podcasting. And it's been so much fun to explore and to grow and to learn so many skills.

Many of you know that I record, edit, upload, do all of it. Soup to nuts on my own, and it has been so much fun. So I love being here. I love chatting with you every week. I know I've been MIA for about a month. I get into that a little bit in this. Episode, but as I was sitting here editing, I realized, oh my goodness, it's 200 episodes. I have to honor that and take a moment and give myself a pat on the back for all of this work.

And while there have been moments that maybe I haven't been as consistent as I would've liked, for those of you that have been around since 20 19, 20 20, 20 21. Cetera, even if you've only been around for a few months, I just am so appreciative that you like to have my voice in your ears and that you're interested in astrology and spirituality and yoga and all of it. So thank you for being here and to 200 more episodes together. Thank you.

Astrological Update: March Madness

Welcome Back to the Essential Astrocast. I am your host, Veronica Perretti, and this is the podcast you listen to when you wanna know what's going on up in the heavens, so that you can dictate your fate down here on Earth. So. It has been a month since I have spoken with you and I apologize profusely. I have been. I don't even know where I've been. I feel like time is an illusion right now, which makes sense because we're, things have been very neptunian.

We had the Sun Neptune conjunction last week, which always makes things feel like a delusion or an illusion. but it has been a really busy time and one of the things that astrology does is that it helps us plan. And I knew that March was gonna be crazy. It's always a really crazy month for me because it's my son's birthday. It's my birthday. There's a lot of activity that goes on in March.

So I knew that and kind of planned for things to be a little bit more low key and not take on too many commitments. But then about a month ago I got sick and you know, had a cold and just. Then through my back out, it was one thing after another. and of course right, it was, we had that Mars station direct and that Mars Stationing direct felt like the cookie crumbled.

It was like, I was so looking forward to Mars, my ruling planet as an Aries Stationing direct, and the station actually was like when the cookie crumbled and everything fell apart. And from that Mars station, we went into Venus retrograde six days later. and now Mercury is retrograde. So we are currently living with Venus and Mercury retrograde. They're both in the early degrees of Aries. So if you like me, are an early Aries. Person with a sun and early degrees of Aries. Happy birthday.

Happy solar return. It's our time. we had the spring equinox last week, so that means that spring Equinox occurs when the sun enters the sign of Aries. and that is the beginning of those iCal New year. So this is the new year as far as astrology is concerned. and it makes sense.

This year because as I told you in my year ahead forecast, if you came to the 2025 workshop, which there's still a lot to come in 2025, I know 2025 has felt like a hundred years already, but there is a lot of crazy astrology to come. So if you have not, you are welcome to go to my website. On the astrology page, veronicaperretti.com/astrology, you can buy the replay of my 2025 year ahead forecast called Dictate Your Fate.

You can go buy that and watch the replay and, catch up on what's gonna be happening this year. But one of the things that I mentioned over on that workshop and also here on the podcast, was that it was gonna be a slow start to the year. Because it, the beginning of the year, the first quarter is really marked by all of these retrogrades. We had this extra long Mars retrograde, which makes everything feel like it's just this sense of inertia.

And then that Mars retrograde fed into the Venus and Mercury retrogrades that we're currently living with.

Navigating Retrogrades and Eclipses

and it's eclipse season. So while things feel really crazy because they are, because we are living in unprecedented times, and that word unprecedented is cliche at this point and really not significant enough for the times that we're living in. With that said, while things have felt crazy, please know we're living under all these retrogrades. What is happening? it is. Gonna shift, it's gonna change, it's gonna get edited, it's gonna get looked at, it's gonna get reviewed.

I'm not saying that things that are happening are not insane and upsetting and gross human rights violations and unconstitutional, and we are barreling toward fascism. All those things are accurate and they are indeed happening. I'm not here to. Spiritually bypass. I'm not here to bring toxic positivity. I am fully understanding of that. What I am saying is that we don't have all the information when we have these retrograde happening. Retrograde do create a sense of inertia.

It's a, hard to get going. The resistance hasn't even really begun in my opinion. but this week that all shifts. This week we really start to shift gears. This is the week where, 2025 really takes off. So Happy New Year. Welcome to 2025. the real edition, the real one. it's happening. So as we get into that, I just wanna say. keep yourself grounded. Do your best to take care of yourself. We've been talking about this for months. You know, cover the basics and breathe. Give yourself space.

Try to keep your calendar a little bit spacious if you can. Whenever we have Mercury retrograde, that means there's gonna be extra steps to take. You're gonna have to redo something, you're gonna have to reboot the computer, you're gonna have to, send the email again, whatever it is. We're also in Eclipse season, so again, we haven't spoken in two weeks and I've missed talking to you. Because there's been so much going on and the thing is.

When the astrology feels like so chaotic and the world feels so chaotic, and my energy was sapped and I was kind of taken out, it's really hard to show up here and feel like I am sharing something, that is worthwhile. And I really wanna be my best when I show up on the mic. And it's not always possible. It isn't always possible. And I'd rather be here than not be here.

But, you know, stuff happens, life happens, and I'm giving myself grace, and I'm just sharing that so that if things have fallen off for you, if you have had to make choices, as to what to prioritize because life was lifeing, please give yourself grace. We have had all the things happening, all the retrogrades, the eclipse season. it's really everything all at once at this moment, and it's intense. It's really flipping hard. So take a deep breath.

Inhale, belly, ribs, chest, an exhale chest, ribs, belly. You're doing a great job. I'm doing a great job. We are all doing the best we can. So with that.

Venus and Mercury Cazimi Insights

On Saturday. Last Saturday, we had Venus cazimi. So Venus has entered the heart of the sun. She's being purified by the Sun's glow. That means that we're halfway through the Venus retrograde. Yay. She's being purified. She takes a little rest. It's like she's going on a spiritual retreat. She's going to the spa for a few days and then she'll be reborn on March 27th as a morning star. So when she disappeared a few days ago before the cazimi, she was an evening Star. You saw her after sunset.

But now on March 27th, she disappears from the night sky as she joins the sun, and then she reappears as a morning star that you see right at dawn. So Venus follows this very cool flower like star pattern, with her, what we call Venus Starpoint when she meets with the sun. So as she meets with the sun over an eight year period, it creates a big flower like pattern. And Venus only retrogrades in five signs, and where she retrogrades, she retrograded. Just about the same spot eight years prior.

So if you think back to 2017, what was going on March, April, 2017? A lot of the same themes are cropping up right now because Venus was retrograde in Aries, at that time. So think back to eight years ago, 2017, what was coming up for you? Are there similar. Themes coming up for you now. Doesn't mean the same thing, doesn't mean the same people, but theme wise. and there's lots of beauty in Venus retrograde. It encourages us to reconnect with friends.

It encourages us to reconnect with our sense of self-worth. It encourages us to reconnect with what's important to us. and for me personally, I've found that this venous retrograde has really brought in a lot of friends that I hadn't seen in a while, and I'm, they're popping up here and there and I'm getting a chance to connect with people that I haven't seen in some time. So it's been really lovely in that way.

It is an Aries, you know, venous retrograde and Aries, but she will be moving back into Pisces this week. So the whole. Astrological wildness that's going on right now is really happening in late Pisces, early Aries. So if you're able to look at your chart. And you know where late Pisces and early Aries are, that's where the action is for you right now.

So, you know, if you have planets like your Sun or your moon, late Pisces, early Aries, you know, there's, there's a lot happening and this is an important time for you. so we had Venus cazimi last Saturday on the 22nd of March, and then today on the 24th of March, that's when I'm recording, we have Mercury, cazimi, mercury enters. The heart of the sun is purified. There's a moment of, clarity perhaps, in the center of this period of Mercury retrograde, Midpoint.

we might experience a moment of clarity. You might have an aha moment or some really great ideas, and then, you know, we'll continue to work on those as we move through the Mercury retrograde. but it is a moment to pause and both these moments come in close together because these two planets are close together. They're both in early degrees of Aries. They're asking us, what have you learned? What have you seen, with these planets and early Aries? What's coming up for you now?

Aries is about being an individual, standing on your own two feet, taking care of yourself, advocating for yourself. Honoring your autonomy, honoring your uniqueness, honoring your individuality, initiating, taking the first step, raising your hand, and saying, I'll go first. Being brave, being optimistic about the future. It's the first sign of the zodiac. It opens the door.

The beginning of the year, that feeling of freshness, the tulips pushing through the soil, and finally seeing that sunlight. So that's the vibe, that's the energy. And having these planets retrograde in that part of the chart, it's like how are you honoring yourself? Because Aries is the ultimate experience of the self. How are you honoring yourself? How are you honoring your highest version of yourself?

How are you honoring, your purpose and what you're here to do in this, in this one precious life of yours? So, although I believe you, we have many precious lives because, you know, I believe in, you know, our soul is eternal. We're spiritual beings having a human experience, but that is podcast for another day. Right now we're here talking about all the astrology, and I don't need to make it more messy, and I don't need to make it more complicated.

so individuation and, maybe you're experiencing some individuation from your family or from a social circle, or even from a partner. Maybe this venous retrograde, this mercury retrograde. Maybe they are about an ending of some sort, but you finding your way to yourself. And for some of us, maybe it's not an ending, maybe it's just a doubling down on being true to ourselves. So however it's manifesting for you. Venus is always gonna be about our values.

And what's important, the practice of our values, honoring them, honoring our worth, honoring, the worth of the people that we love, how we love, and how we wanna be loved. Those are all the things that have to do with Venus. And Venus is also associated with. our money, our resources are also indications of what's important to us. mercury in Aries, it's about speaking up. It's about new ideas. It's about independent thinking.

So if you need to, Maybe there's a spot in your life or particular relationship where you've been biting your tongue and it is time to open up. And maybe opening up doesn't mean, Being harsh, maybe opening up means being vulnerable. That's also an experience of Mercury retrograde in Aries, allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Because remember, Aries is associated with bravery and courage. And as we know from Brene Brown's work, it takes bravery. It takes courage to be vulnerable.

Because Venus is retrograde here, that leads me to believe that a lot of us are working on being vulnerable in our relationships, so that we can show up and have the. intimacy that we desire, the connection that we desire. So that's a little bit about where we've been with the retrogrades, where we are, where we're going, where we are at the moments. we're gonna keep working on those puzzles. We're gonna keep working with the lessons.

We're gonna keep working with the messages that Mercury and Venus are, unveiling for us. What's gonna be really interesting this week is that we're definitely gonna be getting some messages. We're gonna be getting some signs from the universe because Mercury and Venus will both be, moving back into Pisces because of course they stationed to retrograde in Aries, but they will be moonwalking their way back into the sign of Pisces and.

On Thursday the 27th, which would be a great date night if you wanted to have a date night this week. It could be with yourself or with someone else, but great night to, know, love on yourself or someone. the 27th of March, we will have Venus. Go back into Pisces and she will meet Neptune, which is camped out at 29 degrees Pisces, and has been for weeks, so that is going to be very interesting. Venus and Neptune coming together is very romantic. It can make us want to escape.

It can make us want to numb out, but it also can be an incredible opportunity to tune into your spirit, to tune into your inner knowing, to get back to your spiritual practice, to meditate, to write, to create, to be, doing your art. If you're a person that likes to do crafts, maybe it's crafting whatever it is that you kind of can get lost. In the flow, lost in the muse. It's ideal for all of that. So you might, want to make some time for those types of activities on Thursday.

With that said, we have some more to talk about with Neptune, but I'll come back to that before we get there. I wanna mention that, Mercury will be moving back into Pisces on Saturday, he will meet up with Neptune in Pisces. Great opportunity on Saturday to lose yourself in some sort of artistic pursuit. Put on some music, listen to an audio book, maybe read some poetry. all of those things are really great ways to utilize that Mercury, Neptune in conjunction.

Okay. This is a week where there's gonna be a lot happening and it's gonna be really hard to focus on the details. It's more big picture thinking kind of stuff, and it's a lot of emotional stuff coming up this week. Emotions are really running high, so not the best week to be doing your taxes. Not the best week to be, you know. Catching up on mundane work. It's more like creative, big picture stuff that's gonna feel more fulfilling this week if that's, you know, possible for you.

But early in the week, we do have a little glimmer. A moment Tuesday we have mercury sex, sexal Pluto. Monday we have the Sun Sexal Pluto. So Monday, Tuesday. We do have an opportunity for some strategic thinking. we're gonna also feel a lot of gut urges this week. There's gonna be a, like a innate feeling of, I have to follow that. The Sun, mercury, sextile, Pluto can also make people really persuasive.

And with all of the Neptune stuff going on this week, you wanna be careful that you're not falling for someone's. Illusions, maybe you're not falling for your own delusions, because Neptune can make things unclear. It can make things foggy. It can make it hard to know the difference between fantasy in reality. So be aware of that. Wednesday is interesting because Wednesday the 26th, we have Mars Square, Chiron and Mars Square. Chiron is kind of tough now.

Mars spent like two, almost three months retrograde. It was crazy. Mars was in cancer for most of his retrograde. He's still in cancer. He's gonna be in cancer for a little while longer. he's been outta bounds for most of that time, so we've had a very unruly Mars that we've been working with for months. It has been very challenging.

In some ways there might be this feeling of intense anger and wanting to protect what's yours, and then in other moments there's complete inertia and feeling overwhelmed and so emotional you can't do anything. At least that's how it's manifesting for me. Now. As I said, when Mars Station direct, it felt like everything fell apart. And then I started to feel better and then things started to come back together.

So. I am feeling like things are much better now that Mars is picking up the pace and moving forward. But Mars where Chiron is challenging because Chiron is in Aries. He's been in Aries for a long time. Chiron is a dwarf planet or an asteroid. He's associated with the core wound in Aries. It is the feeling of not being enough just for who you are.

This feels, gosh, the Mars Square, Chiron, in terms of the collective and what's going on right now politically, this really concerns me because Mars and cancer can be very nationalistic and. You know, in the Grand Collective, we're not talking about in your chart if you have Mars and cancer, that does not mean that you have a tendency to be nationalistic.

When we look at astrology from a mundane perspective, meaning when we're looking at like world events, it's different than when we're looking at a person's birth chart. So Mars Square, Chiron, this does worry me in terms of violence, in terms of people's human rights being trampled on, on a personal level because Mars has been in cancer for so long and was retrograde. this is a moment to work those boundaries. All the things you learned with Mars retrograde.

The past few months, what you have been working on, Mars is about moving forward. It's about taking action. Chiron is where we feel wounded and oftentimes we don't feel like we can fix it. so this might be a frustrating aspect, but it also can be an aspect where we take action on doing the healing work that we have known we've had to do, and maybe we just were putting it off or not seeing it clearly, because guess what? We got Mercury, retrograde, venous retrograde, and eclipse seasons.

So we got all the shadows coming into the light. Lots of things that you weren't able to see are now being illuminated. So maybe this is an opportunity to take action on some of the things that are within your power so that you can heal the things that might still be aching. you wanna put the retrograde lessons into practice. You wanna work the boundaries. If someone is, Not treating you the way you wanna be treated. Remember, Venus is an Aries. It's about honoring our self worth.

put up the boundaries, work the boundaries. So that's what we've got going on. and we'll see what Wednesday looks like. lucky for me, this is in my solo return chart. every year on your birthday, you get the sun comes back to where it was the day we were born. Of course, sometimes it's a day before your birthday, but mine is actually the day before my birthday. But this year, but. Neither here nor there.

You get, this chart for the year, your solar return chart, and it gives you like an idea of the themes that you'll be working with. So this is a theme that I'll be working with this year, for my 42nd year of life. So, okay. I wanted to warn you about that and, just, you know, do what you need to do to take care of yourself. Okay, now we get to the big stuff.

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries

We're 26 minutes in. We're getting to the big stuff. So on Saturday the 29th of March, we have a new moon, solar eclipse. It is an Aries, it is nine degrees Aries. The new moon, the sun, and the moon will meet. At Nine Degrees Aries and we will have a solar eclipse. Now, it won't be visible for many of us. Those in like Maine, Nova Scotia might be able to see it. but it will be a. Pretty powerful New Moon solar eclipse because it's the closing of a chapter.

It's the end of this series of eclipses in the Aries Libra axis of your chart that began in April, 2023. So since the spring of 2023, we have been working with the eclipses in the Aries and Libra portions of the chart. This eclipse season. The last eclipse we had two weeks ago was in Virgo. That was probably the more intense of the two, the full moon, lunar eclipse. But hard to say because this one's actually gonna be close to my son, so I might be feeling this one. Who knows?

when you have an eclipse. Or any new moon or full moon close to one of the sensitive points in your chart, whether it's your sun, your moon, your ascendant, et cetera. you're gonna feel it more so this new moon, solar eclipse. It is sort of like a fresh start in this part of your chart. As I said, everything's going on in early Aries and late Pisces, and this eclipse is one of those things. Your early Aries, part of your chart is getting this new moon solar eclipse.

It's a closing of this chapter that began in April, 2023, and it's the opening for all of the things that are the common Aries, because this year is. a Hallmark Aries year because we have so much going on in the Aries portion of our charts throughout this year, coming this year, this summer, it's gonna be, you know, Aries Summer light, the match. Let's get it going. It's gonna be a summer of initiation, a summer of beginnings, things taking off, things happening. the fire getting ignited.

You know, Aries is symbolized, or one of the symbols of Aries that I like to use is the match being lit. because of course Aries is a fire sign. But It's the start of the fire. So that's what we're working with. And this new moon, solar eclipse is the end of some work that we've been doing in this part of our chart, and it's the opening of a new chapter with every end. There is a beginning, and right now that is the theme. Pisces is the end of the zodiac. Aries is the beginning of the zodiac.

Everything is going on in that part of your chart. We're simultaneously experiencing endings while we simultaneously prepare for new beginnings and plant seeds for what is to come. so let this be an opportunity to receive. Let this new moon solar eclipse be an opportunity to receive all the blessings that you've received since.

April, 2023. Acknowledge all the ways you've honored yourself, your uniqueness, your individuality, how you've honored your needs, your desires, since April 20 20th, 2023. And that's a big deal. You know, honoring yourself, taking care of yourself, advocating for yourself, validating yourself. These are all things that.

Perhaps you've been working on, through this, this cycle of eclipses and with this venous retrograde and the Merky retrograde and all the things we're talking about today happening in Aries. Okay, so this is the big one.

Neptune Enters Aries: A New Era

After the solar eclipse, the New Moon and Aries on Saturday, on Sunday, we have one of the big markers of 2025. Neptune enters the sign of Aries, and we have not experienced this in our lifetime. so this is a pretty big deal. We are gonna suit up, you know, Neptune and Aries. it's gonna bring a masculine energy to all things spiritual. I know maybe that doesn't sound good. Maybe you're thinking there's a little too much masculinity in all things spiritual already, which I would agree with.

But there is going to be a masculine energy. Remember, masculine and feminine energy exist in all of us. It's not gender based. Pisces is about receiving. It's about allowing, it's about acceptance. Aries is about making it happen, so we're not gonna be sitting back anymore. We are going to be taking initiative with Neptune, moving into Aries and showing our strength, being clear and direct, and maybe even simple about things are all going to resonate. Neptune was in Pisces for a long time.

Neptune entered Pisces in April of 2011. So think all the way back to 2011 and all the ways things in our culture have changed. Neptune is an outer planet, meaning it's so far from us here on earth that we need a telescope to see it. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, we consider them more like generational planets. Yes, we consider them, especially if they're touching one of the personal planets in your charter. It's what whatnot.

But. In the grand scheme, you know, we're seeing them be in one sign for a long period of time, so they're having generational long-term impact and we look at them a lot from that perspective and their impact on society at large. So some of the things that have grown in terms of cultural significance since Neptune entered Pisces and.

April of 2011. the mainstream popularity of New Age Spirituality, I wouldn't necessarily called astrology or yoga New Age because those are my practices that I love. And I think New Ages, you know, misunderstood and misnomer, but neither here nor there, all things alternative. Have really gained popularity, whether it is yoga or astrology or tarot or other mystical traditions, other spiritual traditions. But we've also seen this growth of megachurches and this growth of the Christian, right.

And we've seen this growth of these religious groups that. Are very traditional in many ways, but are also not traditional in some ways. we have been seeing, a growth of, spiritual consumerism, self-help and spirituality kind of getting blended. There's lots of bestselling books that are written by self-help authors or are they self-help or are they. Thought leaders. It's like it all kind of blends now. Everybody is in the world of self-help in some way, shape, or form.

we've also seen influencer culture take over pop culture. So before 2011, celebrity culture was still pretty big thing. Yes, reality television was big. but there was still sort of this like red carpet culture, which isn't such a big deal in our society anymore. Now it's much more about these parasocial relationships we have with people who are influencers on TikTok or Instagram, and we feel so much closer to those people, right?

So it's a very interesting thing that has shifted what is pop culture in our society, misinformation, you know, that has gained traction. And remember, Neptune is about. Sometimes being confused, sometimes being in the illusion or the delusion. And so we've allowed ourselves in many ways to be diluted. we had the largest pandemic in modern times and Neptune is associated with, the immune system. And it's also. Associated with infectious spread.

there's been an increase in talk of compassion, self-love, and empathy. These are things that are like part of our everyday lexicon now, which we're not. This just the general concern with mental health is, so much greater now than it was before 2011. We have. come into the era of streaming and binge watching and binge watching. TV series is the norm.

Even shows like White Lotus that come out every week, lots of people are like, I'm not watching it till the end and I can binge watch it when they've all dropped. so that is. Very Neptune and Pisces. this feeling of wanting to just get lost in something or numb out. you know, this millennial and Gen Z I'm an elder millennial. this desire for meaningful work, I think, before 2011, it wasn't as widely accepted that your work should be meaningful and people really are feeling that now.

The younger generations are feeling drawn toward. Work that is meaningful and not work for the sake of work. the two biggest TED Talks of all time, they actually came out in 2010, but they really laid the groundwork for this period of time. Brene Brown, as I mentioned before, the power of vulnerability. And Simon Sinek, how great leaders inspire Action. and this is all indicative of people trying to find meaning in their life, which is very Neptune and Pisces.

'cause it implores us to really connect with our spirit. So those are some of the themes of what was going on for Neptune and Pisces. Now I wanna share with you some of the themes that I expect to see with Neptune and Aries. So, as I said, Neptune and Aries, it's gonna be much more direct, much more clear much more masculine in energy, much more go out and take initiation. Neptune. In Aries, there's gonna be an illusion of authority. So Neptune is associated with collectivism.

So the group having importance over the individual is possibly something that we are going to argue about. if you know with this staunchly independent S energy. Neptune and Aries historically can give rise to authoritarianism, which we already see happening. also it can be a society or population being diluted by an authoritarian figure. another theme that I suspect will come up is fighting for your beliefs.

So because Neptune is associated with spirit and our ideals, we are gonna be more inclined to fight for what is our ideal. one of the things that we're seeing, of course, in the news is like this weekend with everything going on with Bernie and AOC fight, the Oligarchy tour, 32,000 people showed up in Colorado. People are ready to fight for what they believe in to fight for their ideals.

Now I'm not saying that's everyone, and I'm not saying that that is something, that we should all get on that bandwagon. Although I think it's awesome. But I do think there is going to be this feeling of I am not compromising, I am not settling, I am willing to be in the fight for my ideal version. another thing that I think is really positive about Neptune and Aries is that I think we're gonna see a lot of creative confidence. So Aries is like the ultimate entrepreneur.

It doesn't like to be told what to do. if you've been looking for that confidence to put yourself out there. In some part of your life, maybe with your creative work, then you might find it because Neptune is our connection to our spirit, our muse, our inner knowing. So that is also something that's gonna be really exciting. And I wanna mention that Neptune was discovered in 1846 and we then had Neptune in Pisces, which is Neptune, is the modern day co ruler of Pisces.

We then had Neptune and Pisces from 1847 to 1862. and then Neptune was an Aries 1861 to 1875. So in our, you know, as humans, our experience of Neptune. Since it's been discovered, it started with. Neptune at the very end of Aquarius going to Pisces, and now we're, we're, we're back there. So it'll be really interesting to see how this feels.
