Bill Courtney is famous for many things. You may have seen him in Oscar-winning movie –Undefeated, a 2011 documentary about his time as a volunteer coach for Manassas High School football team here in Memphis. You may have read his book –Against the Grain –in which he shares the principles that helped him be a successful coach, entrepreneur, and father, and what it takes to maintain that success for the rest of our lives.You may have seen him give a motivational speech or except a leadership award along the way.In our conversation, we focus on his business –Classic American Hardwood –a lumber producer and distributor with a global footprint, founded in 2001.
