Starting a conversation with someone you’ve just met can be awkward at times.  You need interesting and cool questions to grab their attention and to make them want to continue talking to you.  By asking interesting questions, you are also showing the person you are talking to that you are an interesting person, that they would want to continue talking to you, and that you will get along well.
