Episode description

Vanessa Ford is an extraordinary individual in every possible way. It's as though she's the real life version of Super Sema, the animated superhero she created that is changing the world. Super Sema is the first African animated superhero franchise to inspire the next generation of children to change the world through curiosity, creativity, and STEAM skills. The wildly successful animated series is watched by millions of young black boys and girls around the globe whose parents and grandparents grew up without seeing anyone who looked like them on TV, and certainly not in cartoon superhero form.

With the backing of Serena and Venus Williams and Oprah Winfrey, the experience of being a young woman of colour working in the entertainment industry directly for Harvey Weinstein, and a drive to reclaim her power and help everyone else do the same, Vanessa Ford is a remarkable and fascinating leader, changing the world for good.
