Episode description

Dr. Tavara Johnson interviews Michael Prejean. Michael is a husband, father, son, and brother to the greatest family on Earth. His faith & family are the forces that keep him grounded. His three main anchors are: his wife of 20+ years, Kimberly, and sons Caleb and Gabriel.

Michael is a two-time District Coach of the Year, a Campus Teacher of the Year, a Secondary District Teacher of the Year, podcast host, author, and current Vice President of the Greater Houston Area Girls Basketball Association.

Growing up in Lafayette, Louisiana, the most impactful people in Michael’s life, outside of family, have always been teachers and coaches. So, it makes sense that he serves as an educator by trade and a helper of people by passion. For nearly two decades he has coached high school athletics and taught social studies, including African American Studies in the public school setting.

Outside of the school setting, Michael hosts two podcasts, The Network with Michael Prejean and Coaches Co-Op, The Podcast, dedicated to moving the needle forward in society and in his profession.

A proud graduate of Lafayette High School, Southern University and A&M College - Baton Rouge, and Prairie View A&M University, Michael has been incredibly fortunate to teach and coach a number of outstanding young people and blessed to work with hundreds of great families.

Each day, he works to impact lives in the world’s most noble profession and is proud to call himself a teacher.
