A very candid conversation about mental health, wellness and much more!
Join me for a very candid conversation between myself and Shawn Peppers, a lovely woman I met as a teen when I was struggling mentally and emotionally and ended up hospitalized.

This piece is dedicated to Black History! All the love 365
This episode is a littler more than poetry! I touch on my experience with anxiety! It’s time to speak up and fight back!
We as women often think we’re being strong when we overdo it, push ourselves and fail to care for ourselves! This is not strength at all! It’s actually detrimental to our wellbeing. How can we care for our families properly if we’re completely beat down! It’s time we learn to lean more on God and less on ourselves
I sat down with Lakeisha and had a good olé conversation about life! There is so much more to come

I’m just talking about my need for balance and learning not to overload my plate.
Celebrating woman is essential! We know that a woman’s soul is deeply rooted in her responsibility to the earth! She deserves to be honored! God did his thing with her.

This is for my beautiful daughter! You mean the world to me! Love you so much! Mommy~
I sat thinking about this. Thinking about my male students. Thinking about how we view girls versus boys! Thinking about how boys work our nerves because they play too much, have tons of energy etc and how this stuff pushes them away from education and into the streets! How those same parents and loved ones are so in love when these boys are born but then that love and support seems to dwindle! These murderers are someone’s sons! It’s just a shame
The history of America is one that has been doused in racism & intentional segregation! It is led to much pain & poverty & created such a divide amongst people! Being a black woman in America ain’t easy, but I am strong! My people are strong! We overcome.
There is so much hate in the world! The current state of the world has black people angry and hurt! Let’s end the war on our people!

Life can throw all kinds of stuff at you all at once. Sometimes you don’t even know if you’re coming or going & have a need to escape, if only for the moment! No one life is exactly the same, & we all find creative ways to get through each day! At the end of it all, just keep living!
This poem touches on insecurities that often come with being a young woman! Sex too soon, babies being born & having parents who just aren’t ready for them. It’s heavy, but it’s real out in these streets! The babies are who I weep for! #BreakCycles
My writing is not all about me. I write for everyone who feels something but can’t always express those feelings. It’s like, you can’t always put into words what’s on your heart & in your mind, but then you hear someone else & you think, that’s exactly how I feel! I write for you!
