The Model Y could be getting a huge update, a bunch of huge updates with the next model of the Juniper, which may follow some of the path of the Model 3 refresh. Now, when is this going to be coming out? What will be happening within the Model Y to make it even better than it already is? This is a great vehicle. So if you haven't checked it out yet, if you're new to Tesla and you're here just for information, please go to tesla.com. Check out the Model Y.
You probably already have. Everybody's seen a Model Y. You probably see them on the road. But it is a fantastic vehicle and I'm in the mood to purchase one. So I'm been doing a lot of research about the fact that there may be a refresh of this. So should I hold off a few months? Should you hold off a few months? Should you hold off until early next year maybe? Well, that's the question you have to answer yourself. So there's speculation right now that the Model Y is getting a
new refresh. A lot of things could be happening. There was a Reddit post that seemed to show a new Model Y all wrapped up in black. And they do this with the test models. So as they're testing new products, Elon and company over at Tesla wrap up the models in a, you know, so it's a black wrap. So nobody knows exactly what vehicle it is, what model it is, what the interior looks like, what other features on the outside look like, what the
headlights kind of look like. And it's an experimental model at that point. But it may be too soon to assume a Model Y refresh is imminent. So Elon Musk said as recently as last month that there's no Model Y refresh coming out this year. And then he also said I should note that Tesla continuously improves its cars. So even a car that is 6 months
newer will be a little better. So if you wait a couple weeks, probably not going to get a new Model Y. We had a couple months, probably not going to get a new Model Y. Maybe at the end of the year, maybe next year, it could happen. Usually they release these things at a show, so we're going to see what happens. And sometimes they just do a casual release like hey, new headlights, new things, new interior, check it out. Here's a bunch of videos. Some things do refreshes like
that. Sometimes it's not a big deal, but the Model Y is a beloved car in the Tesla lineup. So unless Elon Musk has done a complete turn around and the engineers at Tesla are closer than we think, this supposed test model is the only thing we have right now. As far as the new Model Y goes on the roads. We're probably not going to see it this year, everybody. And that's unfortunate because I'm definitely in the right price range for a Model Y and I'm also in the mood to buy 10.
It's got to be a tough one. So maybe six months from now, I mean, I might just buy this year's model and you know, I'm, I, I will be missing out on a few things. So if you're interested in buying a Model Y right now, there are some things from the Model 3 that could possibly go into the Model Y, because that's kind of what they do. The Model 3 refresh has clues about the Model Y coming out that would probably launch in 2025.
Not sure exactly when the 2025 launch would be, but here's what was included in the Model 3 Highland upgrades. Performance upgrade in the model three more horsepower up to 510 horsepower, zero to 60 in 2.9 seconds. The front end has a sleeker hood, so that means that the model 3 bump was removed in low profile headlights for better aerodynamics, which means longer charge, which is great, longer
battery life. So something that's been missing from the Model Y is that it is a smooth ride, but it could be smoother. The Model 3 has this thing called frequency response dampeners which provide a smoother ride in the newer refreshed Model 3. It's a it's a better way to have a smoother ride in your vehicle. You could also possibly upgrade the tires for increased range and less noise. Here's a big one because especially if you're in a hot climate like I am.
I'm in Savannah GA baby and it does get hot. It was 95° here today. We need some ventilated seats and that's possible for the Model Y refresh because the Model 3 has ventilated seat now and the cabin is also quieter. There's 360 degree acoustic glass in the cabin. So that's a really important thing when you're driving a Tesla compared to like a an ICE car. You have a Subaru right now and the ICE vehicle, it's just
louder. If you ever been like if you ever went from a Tesla into an ICE car and you're like, oof, like oof. What? What just happened? Yeah, that's that's what's going to be better in the cabin. Quieter cabin, 2 to 360 degree acoustic glass. There's possible rear screen for rear passengers too, which would be really great. Put the kid in the back and then put on put on the screen for him. Let him watch a movie or something on the way to school. That would be good.
Removal of the stocks on the steering wheel. So all these physical controls will be moved to thumb buttons on the steering wheel. Not bad. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but it will be stockless in the new model. Hopefully. Because if they can upgrade one thing, they might as well upgrade it on all the vehicles, right? And more software updates, of course, because we will have better controls such as a gear selector integrated into the
screen. And possibly this is one that I'm really interested in the upgraded sound system, but we don't know exactly what that's going to be. None of this stuff. We don't know exactly what this is going to be. So if you're watching this on YouTube, please leave a comment down below. Let me know what you're most excited about for the Tesla model. Yi was going to say the three because I've been talking about the three the whole time. The Model Y upgrade, it's coming.
Hopefully it's not going to come soon. It's going to be in 2025 according to Elon. But you never know because it's Tesla and they may surprise us. So let me know in the comments down below.
