This is the guy to define where the rock star looks like, sounds like without being an actual singer, without being an actual artist, well, a different type of artists, if I would, I gotta tell anything for anything Sea Cantante, he wasn't a singer, but he was actually someone that brought singers to the actual wrestling. The w w E champion, the Heartbreak Kid makes a noise
with us talking about next for mister Shaw. Mike calls, Wow, pleasure to have you. Thank you very much. Obviously, Uh, I appreciate the interduction. Um, yeah, I don't. Yeah, I'm not sure how much. Certainly, earlier in my career I felt like I definitely brought a rock atmosphere. Obviously, as I got older, change is melded up
a little bit to a little country and Western. But obviously we are from NXT thrilled about the NXT Battleground Premium live event coming to Lowell, mass On Sunday, May twenty eight, You know what I mean, at the Song Center looking forward to uh, you know, being our first time ever having a premium live event in Massachusetts. So NXT is filed about coming there, and that is actually the NXC Champion Comarl and Haz's backyard, So obviously he's
excited about it, and just everybody here to NXC and the men and women that uh, you know, performed for this brand are excited about coming to Lowell and just obviously just having a fantastic time on May twenty eight. Sean, how it doesn't feel being one of this groundbreaking type of performers. And again I have to emphasize the whole you bringing that the whole rock star status to wrestling in general, and then being bart of this new era with NXT
and so on and so forth. Look, obviously when you're when you're in there doing it, you know what I mean. And it look, we had an absolutely and I started with it. I loved to push the envelope and that was. Look, we really felt that we were doing innovative stuff back in the nineties, right, and it was just something, as you say, you know, was a different look and to the side of the WWE, and it was Look, it was not easy to come by.
A lot of people pushed back because we pushed against the tradition um and a lot of the I don't know, those deep seated things that you were sort of never supposed to do, those taboo things that you were never supposed to do. And we just felt like it was time to push that envelope.
And thankfully, uh, you know, as we finally broke that ceiling um, you know, it all came crashing down, but all in a really good way, you know, I mean, it just opened up, uh, you know, obviously into the attitude era and and you know it's taken obviously, uh you know, the ww to where it is today to a multi billion dollar entity. And obviously NXT is a big part of that.
And that's something that you know, I would be a hypocrite if I didn't teach these young men and women here look looking for that next level, you know what I mean. I mean, on one hand, obviously you never get away from basic um, you know what I mean, and what you know foundationally always works from this line of work. But at the same time, striving to carve yourself a new and different future and to separate yourself from
everybody else. So that's one of the big things we do here in the XT and obviously you know and in Lowell and on the twenty eight man, that we're going to see a bunch of performers from NXT going out their battleground and again showing them, showing everybody in Lowell, Massachusetts and all around the world what the future has for the WWE I attition, attition at see on the whole world, the whole mass and Connecticut's going to be coming down.
New Hampshire is going to be coming down, Man, is gonna be coming down to this NXC. And I like something that you just mentioned, and it is the fact that the traditional ways meet the new ways in creating your own way. Is this what's NXC is trying to do? Absolutely again, because I look, I think all of you and myself, even as a fan UM, I appreciated those those performers that would take risks and and try
things, you know what I mean. And then look, every sport, every form of entertainment, UM is always trying to be innovative and cook deal and again and take it into the future. And the WWE is no different. And that's one of the things here at NASC that we have got to encourage. This is like, this is the future of the WWE UM And you know, look, on one hand, you always want to, like I said, pay attention to your you know, to your foundational principle.
But at the same time, I think the fans are really loving the action, the excitement, uh, you know that NXT brings. And like I said, when we come to Lowell on the twenty eighth, man, we're just gonna We're gonna go out there. We're gonna tear the house down. These young men and women. You know, again you are looking at people that are hungry, uh, and they are just incredibly excited about trying to
carve their way, especially with the draft just happening, you know. I mean, they see that opportunity to be out there on raw and SmackDown. You know, they're so so close they can taste it, you know what I mean. So you gotta go to songcenter dot com you get your tickets because the battleground on the twenty eighth is gonna be a major blowout and it's gonna be a fantastic show. Battleground on the twenty eight, Lowell is ready and I think that you're going to have a mixture crowd over here, a
lot of Spanish folks a endo because we love wrestling. Latino's love wrestling. I mean, you you learn one of the best Holezeotario, right, And I got this question for you East possibility of NXT eventually are going to to Latin countries and try to do it there as well, just the same way he's going to happen here on the twenty eight. Look, as you know, growing up in Texas, man, you know, I grew up on Luc Libre and yeah, like you mentioned, uh you know, trained by
Jose and a Theaty. So look, it's always had uh you know, an incredible you know aspect, uh and impact on my career. Um, just something that I absolutely loved. And look and that's what again even stylistically in NXT, we you know, we you know, we have Dragon Lee here now and he's just got such right future and he is going to be there and you know what I mean in lower lasts, um, you know,
showing everybody what he's what he's made up. And look, you know the WWE and certainly from an NXT standpoint, we're looking to expand all over the world. So I will always say this to me, we have so many uh as, you know, fantastic Latino stars that it's to me it's come and sense, you know what I mean, to try to uh you know, to go into those you know, aspects of the country this year.
Look, they got a big show in Puerto Rico. Um, but we from an NXT standpoint, nothing would thrill me more than someday to have a you know what I mean, an NXT regular stop uh going down you know in that neck of the woods. You know what I love to see, I mean, especially looking at Bad Bunny now incorporating with WWE. I love to see Bad Bunny also coming to an NXT advent of that nature,
and so on and so forth. What does it mean for you that the actual Lightning artists have incorporated themselves now where we're wrestling you being in here for so many years, you being a massive I mean the original rocker for real. Let's let's get to that. Well. Look, yeah, I mean I grew up on you know, Scorpions and Judas Priests and at DC. So you know again, and I'll tell what I really appreciate about guys like that Bunny um is. Again, it's just the sincerity um at which they
appreciate um what we do, you know what I mean. I mean, he is a guy that is absolutely you know, he's a huge megastar, and he could come in and just kind of phone it in and do whatever he wants. But I'm telling you what that guy works so hard at and again a true trying to understand and and and uh, you know, perform what it is we do, you know, I mean, he's I mean, he's had a ring set up at his place, he's training all the
time, and again he's the guy. Look, I would you know, I would argue that you know what I mean, he wouldn't have to you know what I mean, Wow, he could go to do whatever he wants. But I thought I really like about guys like him and Logan Paul. I mean, they have really they don't want to just come in and have a payday and do something to help their own ran. They want to be
good at what it is we do. They have such a respect, you know what I mean for what it is that we do in the w W that they want to be a big part of it, and they want to They want to be good. They want the fans to enjoy their performance as much as they do the you know, the regular uh full time you know WW superstar. And again I would say that that's that's something that's really changed
from way back in the day. You know, there have always been people that have wanted to cross over into our line of work, but I don't know if they had quite the dedication um that you know that the crossover performers have today. Again and again, I have a great deal respect for Bad Bunny obviously and what he's accomplished on on his own, but what he does and what he gives and the effort he puts forth um to really be a
good WW superstar enforce in the enforcing wrestling, it's crazy. It's crazy, definitely, it is, Sean and and I want to I want to interject there because the seriousness of wrestling, I think has been overlooked by some folks. But on the twenty eight in Lowell, what's going to happen Because according to what I'm saying, according to what I'm my services say, this is going to be sivy it is. It's gonna be that absolutely huge yeah, I'm telling you right now, man, you need to get out the song
Center dot com uh and pick up your tickets because we are coming. I mean, Carmelo Hayes. He's from that Negather Woods. He is the NXT
Championship champion. Looks is that he's going to be, you know, defending that title against a very fired up and a very angry broun breaker who's just a athlete and looks as of last night we just heard that again, we're gonna be crowning a new NXT women's champion by Lowell, Massachusetts, obviously, and so look it's gonna be a huge night and you gotta watch up obviously NXC on the USA Network every Tuesday night at eight o'clock to find out what
