Dr Shane, Dr Krystal, Dr Jen and Chris KP discuss how this year will be an extra second longer, air pollution causing flower scent interference and discovery of seafloor ruins.

First guest: John Lesku, PhD Lecturer, ARC DECRA Research Fellow, School of Life Sciences, La Trobe University tells us all about his animal sleep research work and how animals in the wild are wired up with data loggers.

Second guest: Ben MacLean, School of Physics, Monash University discusses the massive improvement in star observation capability after a telescope equipment upgrade at the Coonabarabran facility.

Third and fourth guests: Professor Ingrid Scheffer, Paediatric neurologist and physician-scientist, University of Melbourne and the Vice-President of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. Edward Cliff is a final year medical student at Monash University who completed his Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours last year in diabetes physiology at the University of Oxford.
