 * An excellent article on the importance of communicating well with worried parents in the Emergency  click this link

* This is the original ABCD doctor - Prof Michael Fasher - who taught me when I was at medical school, just phenomenal Click this link - Empathy is mightier than the thermometer

* An article entitled "Why Do Parents Bring Their Children to the Emergency Department?" to remind us that parents bring their children in to ED because they are worried about them, and there are a lot of emotions attached to this concern. CLICK THIS LINK

* An excellent acronym which we should all try to integrate into our daily interactions with all patients. How important is it to simply know who you're talking to and roughly how long things are going to take?! CLICK THIS LINK

* I highly recommend all SCH and RCH factsheets and guidelines -- both of which are excellent reading and learning for all nurses and doctors dealing with kiddies. My all time favourite of course being the one on fever: fever in and of itself is not harmful! CLICK THIS LINK FOR SCH AND RCH GUIDELINES

* Hayleys has also featured on a podcast called Feed, play and Love, the episode was titled "Birth from a doctors perspective"- click here to listen  It is amazing
