Episode description

Taking your in-home, passion and talent for crafting and putting it out there for the world to see, and buy of course, is a scary and overwhelming endeavor. There are several ways you can do it - from setting up booths in small retail stores to traveling around to craft fairs and exhibits. However, all of these take a lot more effort, and money, than you might think to manage. Making the jump from crafting for fun to crafting to make money is a lot harder than one might anticipate. So, all that said to suggest that maybe you try building your audience, value and brand through social media first before setting up an actual, in person retail space. Selling through social media helps to minimize the risk because YOU are in control of what you are making and how often you are making it. You can easily become successful through your “social selling” by using the social media outlets effectively. I know there are a lot to choose from, but I’m mostly talking about Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Give this podcast to listen to hear more about how you can use social media effectively to market your craft.
