¶ Intro / Opening
Hey guys, welcome to the eCommerce Paradise podcast. This is your host, Trevor Fenner.
¶ Introduction to High-Ticket Dropshipping
Today I'm going to talk about what to do if you're not getting any sales on your high-ticket dropshipping store. If it's your first time listening to the podcast, get my free niches list and mini course on high-ticket dropshipping at eCommerceParadise.com slash niches. And also go check out our masterclass. It's our over-the-shoulder course on how to start and scale high-ticket dropshipping store at eCommerceParadise.com slash masterclass.
All right, let's get into it. So number one, if you're not getting any sales, what you should do is definitely check out your ads. Traffic is usually the most important thing. If you're sending targeted traffic to your website, even if your website isn't that great, you probably are going to get sales. So traffic is usually the first thing I look at. So Google Shopping Ads are the number one thing that we run to drive targeted traffic to our website.
And it's a special three-tier campaign where you're going to spend higher and bid higher on your product and SKU keywords and also on your branded keywords as opposed to generic keywords. So if you want more information about Google Ads and how we set that up and stuff like that, definitely go check out the website, ecommerceparadise.com. I have blog articles and YouTube videos and all that stuff. And also consider enrolling in the masterclass.
¶ Optimizing Your Ads for Better Sales
All right, let's get into it. So checking out your top ad spend brands and products, what you're going to want to do is take those same products, plug them back into Google Shopping, find your top competitors, look at their websites and their listings and see what their offers are. Are they having a deep discount?
Are they offering free gifts? Do they have add-ons? Do they have variants or options that you don't have, well, you should optimize your listing and optimize your offer to at least match, but better at least to do better than them on your offer. So definitely consider that. And besides that, there's other ways to find top competitors. You can consider just looking through the organic rankings as well instead of just the top shopping ads.
You'll have older competitors that rank better through organic, so you'll have an idea of what's really working well. Okay, so definitely consider that. Once you get a good idea of what your top ad spend brands are and your products and what you need to do to optimize and you're working on that, the next step is to update your inventory.
Inventory is really important because if something's out of stock and it's a best-selling product, you're going to get a lot of ad spend to that listing, whereas your competitor is probably not going to be sending ads to that listing, ad traffic anyways, and you're going to be wasting ad spend. So definitely update your inventory and make sure that your inventory is connected
to your Google Shopping feed. And the way you can do that is by setting up a special automated collection in Shopify and making that collection only show products that have inventory. So any product with inventory greater than zero would be the filter. And then connect that to your Google Shopping feed through an app like Symprosis that I use and recommend. And you can find them in the App Store. Symprosis is really cool. And they'll connect to a collection.
And so you just choose that automated collection. And then automatically, your inventory will get updated in your Google Shopping feed every day. So you won't be sending ads to products that are out of stock. Some suppliers will send you automated lists like CSV files and spreadsheets, and some suppliers won't. They'll have a dealer portal or something like that or send you manual spreadsheets once a week.
So every supplier is different, but if they do send you some sort of spreadsheet, what you can do is use an app called StockSync and link that spreadsheet directly to your online store inventory and run inventory updates automatically. It'll match the SKUs in the spreadsheet to the SKUs in your store.
¶ Inventory Management Techniques
So it's really easy. So StockSync, check them out in the App Store. All right, the next thing is to double check that all your marketing systems and retargeting systems are working properly. Because if someone lands on your website and they leave, it's your marketing and retargeting that's going to get them back. So just make sure that those systems are working properly.
That's your email marketing, retargeting ads, audiences and Google ads, audiences, Bing ads, Facebook ads, anything you're using for retargeting. Just make sure those systems are working properly. And if you haven't set them up yet, definitely set them up. If you want to learn more about that, I have other episodes on marketing, retargeting, email marketing, that kind of stuff. So check that stuff out.
¶ Ensuring Effective Marketing Systems
All right, the next one is make sure that your website's loading fast. There's apps that will speed up the website load time or you just hire a developer on Fiverr or something like that. I have an in-house developer that we use. So if you need help, you can also hit me up. Trevor, ecommerceparadise.com, we could help you. But the main thing is just to make sure your website's loading fast and that there's no like apps that
are really slowing your website down. So if you're adding new apps to your website, just kind of double check and make sure that they're not slowing your website down or just get rid of them if they are. You can use a tool like Google PageSpeed Insights. Just type that into Google PageSpeed Insights and you can plug your homepage. And I would recommend also plugging a collection page and a product page.
See the loading time on desktop and mobile. You really want to optimize for mobile because most of the time people will find you through mobile and then keep shopping around and then actually come to desktop to place a purchase. So people are a little bit more patient on desktop, whereas on mobile, they're a lot less patient. So definitely optimize for mobile first, and then optimize for desktop after.
¶ Website Performance and Loading Speed
But going on that same vein, I do actually bid higher on desktop traffic than mobile traffic, and it's usually helping to retarget because people are going to be shopping around on their mobile phone, kind of window shopping, and then they get back to their desktop computer, and then they finish their shopping there. It's not always the case, but it does happen. So those are just some quick tips for optimizing everything.
