Carlos Lopes, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) was one of the key speakers at the JAES lunch-time seminar on the future of Africa-EU relations organised by the European Commission.The aim of the the seminar was to discuss how Africa and Europe could collaborate more and better in multilateral forums. Other speakers included Connie Hedegaard, EU Commissioner for Climate Action, Mxolisi Nkosi, the South African Ambassador to the EU, Alex Vines, Research Director Chatham House and Jose Manuel de Morais Briosa e Gala, special Advisor to President Barroso on Africa.
