Hello everyone. Welcome to Easy German Dialogues. Leichte Dialoge auf Deutsch. Episode 1. Im Restaurant. In the Restaurant. In a second I'm going to play the dialogue for you, but before that I'm going to give you five important words that you might need to understand the dialogue better. The first one is Möchten Sie. Möchten Sie means would you like.

Möchten Sie is basically a polite form to ask someone if he wants something. So Möchten Sie essen would be would you like to eat? The second one, Speisekarte. It means menu. Speisekarte literally would translate to food card. So in German you say Speisekarte when you mean the menu. The third one, really basic, lecker. It means Tasty. Lecker. The fourth one Nachtisch. It means dessert. We also use the word Dessert in German but a lot of times in the menu you would read.

Nachtisch. Nachtisch means dessert. And the fifth one Stimmt so. It means keep the change. So if you want to give a tip at the end of a meal about 10% are pretty common in Germany, then you give them the amount that you want to pay and you say which roughly translates to it's correct like that.
