Pastor Matt dives into the nature of faith. Rooted in love, faith often is risky. But God rewards faith. We are all, as followers of Jesus Christ, part of a great story and history of faithful people. Let's move forward with acts of love!
This week we are encouraged by Pastor Josh as he speaks from Philippians about the Faithful God who makes us into faithful people. We hope you enjoy!
Pastor Josh continues our series on Philippians. He reminds us that, as followers of Jesus, we follow Jesus into the cross-shaped mold for living. As we follow Jesus in the way of downwardness, the Holy Spirit forms in us into the shape of Jesus. Paul writes, “Yet whatever gains I had, these I have come to regard as loss because of Christ. More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” (3:7-8)
For Mother's Day, Ana Marie Schlect continues our series from the book of Philippians on the faithfulness of God and our calling to be a faithful people.
Pastor Josh lays the foundation for our series on Philippians. He reminds us that throughout history, our faithful God makes faithful people. He is continuing this work today, making us His Holy ones, His beloved people. Paul writes "that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ" (1:6)
As we gather together virtually, wherever you’re at, Josh walks us through the big picture of why it’s so important to remember this season and that these days are especially good for reflecting on the resurrection of Jesus, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. And the encouragement to remember with celebration and contemplation the grace that God has given us!
Easter Sunday is a day to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! And while we celebrate the Risen King, Russ also encourages us to take a look at the areas in our lives where we've put anything other than the King first. He is risen, He is worthy, He is King!
David reminds us the Palm Sunday that Jesus is King. But He is a King that rides into town on a donkey, defying the expectations of the Israelites. He is a King who washes our feet. He is a King who is doing amazing work in our lives even when we fall short. It is all for His glory and we can rest in that truth.
This week we hear an encouraging message from Pastor Russ on the subject of grief. A lot of us have been possibly feeling or dealing with grief during this time but not sure how to deal with its emotion. How do we deal with it? Acknowledge it and allow it; it's how God made us and it's important! But then we don't want to stay there, so we turn to scripture for direction, encouragement and hope. We pray this message ministers to you today, wherever you're at!
Lexie Stratman reminds us from Colossians that Jesus is our King, the Chosen One, God WITH us. And because of this, we do not need to live in fear, we "posses the Hope of Glory" (Col. 1:27), and, as Colossians 2:6-7 (NTE) tells us: "So, then, just as you received King Jesus the Lord, you must continue your journey in him. You must put down healthy roots in him, being built up brick by brick in him, and established strongly in the faith, just as you were taught, with overflowing thankfulness."...
Today we experienced church a bit differently. For the first time in most of our lives, we are livestreaming service because of a sickness that encourages social distancing. We hear Russ discuss today 'what do we do and how do we stand firm during uncertain times?' God gave the ability to have emotions; feeling afraid is not wrong. What He desires is for us to give into His grace more than our tendency to give into fear.
