Episode description

In this episode, we are joined by Gargee Ghosh, president of global policy and advocacy at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, for a conversation about philanthropy in sustainable development. A recent US$20 billion donation by Bill Gates will allow the foundation to increase investment in its core areas of focus, including health, gender equality and alleviation of poverty. We explore these areas with Gargee, and how the foundation works in partnership with governments, the private sector, innovators and local players to invest in projects that are most likely to improve lives. We also discuss the foundation’s work in agriculture, education, water, sanitation and digital financial solutions, and its priorities for the coming year.
