Welcome to Destiny. Now here's your host, Cliff Dunning. Hey are you doing today? I hope you're well. We're looking at human evolution today. We're looking at very likely the earlier epochs existence how mankind in those earlier periods that led to perhaps the dynastic Egyptians and other sophisticated cultures who were physical but also tapped to the spiritual realities of mankind and use those parts of themselves in their daily activities. We here in the West tend to fall on fundamentalists,

you can say religion, but also science, the scientific method. We look at lifestyles that are extremely damaging and we forget the inner spiritual self. And we're talking about this today. I'm of the belief that the earlier epochs were more connected to the higher levels of consciousness. And this is when you meditate,

you shift beyond the physical, you work on the higher realms. Remember, within those realms are the Akashic records, the database of universal knowledge of the past, the president, and the future, all contained in this again,

this cloud database. I think probably our ancestors had an easier time of it than we do today, because I don't hear well I do hear, you know, scientists talking about it, and we've had a number of them on the program, But you don't hear orthodoxy talk about tapping into the Akashic records. You don't hear orthodox science. And within the science, this is

the medical community that I'm very against right now. And when I say a medical community, I'm talking about the allopathic community, whose way of healing is through drugs, through surgery, and if you have a degenerative disease like cancer, through radiation. I'm firmly of the belief that in the next decade or so we're going to look back on these treatments and go, what the hell where we're thinking Because we're harming people, we're killing people, and we're not

promoting wellness. These people do not understand what the term wellness means. But today we're looking at connecting with a part of ourselves that some people call the higher self, some people call the soul, and using those areas to have a spiritual awakening. And when we have an awakening, we are aware of higher dimension of ourself, a more fulfilling and satisfying dimension of ourselves. And very few people understand this, and very few people use it. I'd say

that it is an undercurrent. It's the same level of consciousness that we look at when we talk about alternative medicine, the wellness, and that sector is acupuncture, it is nutritional foods, it is organic foods, it's vitamins, it's a massage therapy, it's tai chi, it's yoga, it is connecting and working with the higher realms, the higher dimensions. Until recently, these

were more available to us. Now once that was shunned by the Church, I mean the Catholic Church in a consideration of meditation, consider you know, that's a and that just the Catholic Church. Also other religions consider meditation a form of devil of devil worship, and that's just not true, you know.

And you've heard me many times mentioned here that I follow the Hindu form of meditation, which was brought to America by Maharishi mesh Yoga, who figured out a way to really dial down long long meditations hours two hours into a twenty minute morning and afternoon meditative cycle. And by the way, if you would like to learn an easy meditation, look at transcendental meditation. They're they're in most states and they're not that expensive. I think it's an eight hundred

dollars for a course and then follow up. I could be wrong, it could be more. But it served me since I was, you know, in my late teens. I learned it when I was eighteen because I was struggling. I was depressed, I was unhappy with my life and I didn't like where I was going, and so I needed and I was attracted to an Eastern philosophy very very young in my in life, and I really it really helped me a lot of ways. Now, I wasn't meditating continually.

I had periods where I actually stopped, but where I stopped, I usually was not happy there either. So I picked it up again and it's it's very It's served me a lot. It has served me well. But today we're gonna learn about spiritual tools that helps shift your perspective, help you gain a sense of yourself. And then when you're in alignment with this unseen realm, and you can call it heaven, you can call it whatever, bonna, whatever, this part of you that is unseen, and it also connects

with your past lives. Now, we've had a number of people on this program who are very much connected to their past lives. Who who understand that their strengths and weaknesses from those lives that are bleeding through some purposeful, a some not. And when you use that information you actually have more satisfaction in your life. But today we're going to learn the importance of being a spiritual being happier, more successful, and really experiencing this life, this time in

our life as successfully as possible. So the program today is through a divine lens practices to quiet your ego and align with your soul. My guest today is Sue Frederick, and she's coming to us today from Arizona. Today we're speaking with a I want to call her a spiritual person, a spiritualist if you want to use that term, someone who is or has chronicled her journey

and how she was indoctrinated into our lifestyle. And when I say indoctrinated, we're raised in our parents, with our parents vision, we have religions, we have our society, and Western culture is not an easy society to incarnate into, simply because there's great expectations, there's great heaviness about the whole thing. You have to be educated, you have to have a job, you have to get married at a certain age. If you're a woman, you

must have children, or you're a failure. If you're a man and you don't have a job and you're not making so much money and you don't you know, you have a desk, and you are part of a big corporation, you're a failure. We suffer, We suffer, And my guest today has written a book called Through a Divine Lens Practices to Quiet your Ego and Align your Soul. As I was reading this book, I was thinking,

she's captured the problems that we're dealing with. But most of us are seeking a spiritual life, a spiritual connection with our higher self, which is the ultimate way to live. My guest is Sue Fredericks. He is a spiritual coach, lifelong intuitive master, numerologist, and certified soul Regressionist therapist. And she's an ordained Unity minister, which means that she's tapped in pretty much all the time. Sue, Welcome to Destiny. Great to see you. How

you doing. Thank you so much, Cliff, It's an honor to be on your show. I gotta say this. This book came to me it felt like an autobiography it's like your highs and lows. You're really digging through the piles of existence. And you know, we we were incarnated in this lifetime to really be the best that we can be on numerous levels. What do you say when I would call I would call it fight for the light. Oh, I like that term. It's really good. Talk about this

book real quickly. Why did you write it? I mean, I feel that you're you're a unity minister, which means that you're a teacher. You are showing others what's going on from a spiritual point of view. What would you say was the motor to write this well? I had already written a number of books about spirituality, and I was helping clients every day, and I was teaching workshops helping people connect to either their own higher self or their

departed loved ones. And I came home from teaching one of those workshops, it was a three day retreat, and I got really sick. I was kind of run down. This was back in twenty thirteen, maybe twenty fourteen, and I came home and suddenly I had like one hundred and four degrees of fever and a really bad cough, and I was on the third night, I was taken out of my body and I was held. For anybody who gets to see this video, you can see this graphic behind me.

I was held in space looking at planet Earth, and I was shown all these beams of light shooting up from Earth. And I was held by these loving beings. I mean, I want to say angels, but they felt like guides. And I said, why are you showing me this? What are those beams of light? And they said, every soul who wakes up on Earth to remember their divinity, remember that they're part of God consciousness and

live from that place of love and compassion. A light beam shoots up into the universe from their heart and they spark other people to wake up to that higher consciousness. And they showed me around the globe of planet Earth, how all the dark corners are being one by one illuminated with this higher consciousness light. And remember I was in like a vision fever dream and it just went on all night, and they were pouring this into me and saying, you

know, things are going to be hard in the next few years. You have to be one of the people who says the light is always winning, the love is always winning. As you can see here as they were showing me that it is, and I came back into my body, woke up and grab my computer because I've always been a writer, and I knew I couldn't express it verbally, but I knew that if I sat there writing, it would come through me. And basically that's the book Through a Difference.

That's I love that, and you actually write about that at the very beginning of your book. You go through this, uh this, Uh well, it's it's a fever that shifts your awareness and your consciousness and you leave your body. Did these beans say to you that you give give you background in terms of why you're here at this time? Did you, I mean, why you would in court incarnate? Now? Well, I have that answer from my departed husband who died in when I was twenty nine, talking about

Paul. Paul, Yeah, he's my lifelong spiritual teacher. Or does he come through now? Yeah, he's still does. In fact, in July it was the forty third anniversary of his crossing, and he came in with the biggest sign ever and the biggest conversation ever, which I want to say to anybody who's grieving, if you believe that you're departed just have to move on. That is a myth because time and space is happening all at once. It's not linear the way that our minds have to see it. And

so I departed. Yes, they can be ascending into the highest realms or reincarnating, but they can also and they will also come to help and heal any of their loved ones here on earth. So Paul has come back to me numerous times saying, you agreed to stay and here's why. And in my thirties, though, Cliff, you know, I was an angry girl, and I was lost in my grief, and I was angry that my beloved, beautiful husband, who is the sweetest, kindest man I'd ever known,

had such a suffering death of cancer. And then I lost my best childhood girlfriend that way, and many people in my thirties, so I would say it took me maybe twenty years to really say, Okay, I'm really now ready to kind of take a stand for what I've learned and come out

of the closet and really say who I am and launch my work. And I was coming from a background of growing up in the South in the fifties with an engineer father, and the whole thing was about the left brain logic mind being king right, and so I really had to find my voice to say no, the left brain logic mind is just part of our human journey, and it's not real, and it almost never tells us the truth. And our heart and our soul and our higher self is the guide that we're

supposed to be listening to here. Yeah, most of us are incarnated into its family lives that are pretty much wake up, go to work, come home, eat, go to sleep, right, unaware of the subtle bodies, the higher self, the meditative self, and this spiritual self that you beautifully write about. How do we begin looking at the true nature of our

spiritual self when we're in this society? What would you suggect I mean, there's a ton of things we're going to talk about in our interview today, but just as an overview when someone speaks to you, looks at your book and wants to know more. What's the difference between how we're told to live and the spiritual nature of living. Yeah, well, we're told to be focused outside of ourselves and achieving and accumulating and success according to the physical world

and that only the logic mind is real and valid. And yet as children, we come in knowing that one of that is true, and that we are divine beings, and we have that pure, open connection to the highest realms, and we get program to shut it down. So the minute we can say, I'm going to take ten minutes a day, twenty minutes a day to sit in the silence to quiet my mind. Classic meditation, whether it's Buddhist, Hindu, or however you want to do it. I'm a

big fan of Hindu meditation. Or you repeat sacred mantras, sacred sound to quiet that mind so that you then are pulled away from the mundane details of life and back in touch with your voice, your God, consciousness, self, whatever you want to call it. You know, I think for a lot of people, discovering their spiritual self happens through trauma. You're absolutely right,

happens annoyingly. They're attracted to, say, perhaps a Hindu mantra or there there's a figure like when I was a kid, well eighteen years old, I discovered the Maharishi mesh Yogi, who was the fundamental behind meditation, translidental meditation, and I was just attracted to it, and so I went to a class here in Northern California, and I thought that sounds so good

because I'm just my brain's just going crazy. And the very first time I was showed how to meditate, it was so deep and exact thing happened to me. That was my first form of meditation in my twenties. Yeah. That amazing. Yes, Yeah, but you know I think that that I just had this drive to know more. A lot of people are suffering and

they don't know how to get out of it. I mean, it's really, really, really tough when you are shown told that you need to work nine five, you need to get married, whether you're in love or not.

I mean, you know, the problems are our society brings up and people are dragging their guts around the street because they are so much out of control or their numb talk a little bit about a spiritual awakening, I would say that, well, you and I just agree that, hey, we learned about TM when we were very young teenagers because there was something about it. But somebody who doesn't have that in their environment, what should they be

looking for? Well, here's what I know to be true from working with thousands of clients is this world will pull your attention into it until you have some form of heartbreak, and that is unfortunately true in most cases. And that heartbreak will either be that your career crashes and burns and you get fired or laid off, or you have a heartbreak in a person leaving a relationship with you, or if they cross over. Grief is our greatest spiritual awakening

here. And when we get those heartbreaks, I believe we programmed them into our life plans so that we would have to wake up here. And when I think back to being twenty nine and having my beautiful mountain climbing husband die in my arms of cancer, you know, it took me a long time to accept that. Yes, I programmed that in because I was determined in this lifetime to ask the big questions, who are we? Why am I here? Why do people suffer? Where do we go when we die?

And what is my purpose? Those are the questions that heartbreak makes us ask, and they're the only important questions in life. Yeah, here's a big one for you. Why should I care? I'm working nine to five, I'm making good money, I think I'm in love. Well, my answer is that's okay, you don't have to care. But they'll come a time when you'll come back to me and let me rephrase it, Sue, let me rephrase it. So, what are the benefits of a spiritual life?

What does it bring to me that I need to look closer at and the difference between monetary success and let us use the term spiritual success. Well, I worked in the corporate world in my thirties and my forties before I did my own business and came out of the closet. So I worked with people who would see me, you know, I have a mala and I'd be meditating in my office for ten minutes with my mama, and they would say, what is the problem you're solving with that? And I remember thinking,

Wow, they just don't get it. They don't understand who we are here. And then I would watch that same person who was playing the career game and being very successful. I would watch them hit their own wake up call

and they didn't have the tools to find their way through it. And that's when I began to really understand that it's when you're feeling successful and like everything is going well, that's when you have to start learning to turn within and meditate and look at the bigger picture because when a reinvention point comes along, and they do, actually, we all have reinvention points every nine years according to sacred numerology. Let me stop real quickly. When you see invention,

it's like reinvention, reinventing yourself. Yes, you see it's interesting, yeah, meaning that you know in that nine year of reinvention, we might lose a career that we thought we'd have forever. We might lose a relationship we

thought we'd have forever. Everybody hits these and that's the point where you have to call on those inner sacred tools, tools that you have already kind of developed, to help you see it differently, to help you lift up and say, what if I consider that this is happening for my highest good rather than against my highest good to destroy me. Nothing here is trying to destroy

us. This is a divine order universe fueled by a loving God consciousness, and we all are going to hit moments where everything we know and love is falling apart. That is serving our growth because when we cross over cliff, the first thing we do is a soul review, and we judge, not anybody else we look at all of the ripple effects of our actions, our words, our emotions, and we go, Wow, why wasn't I kinder?

Why wasn't I more loving? Why wasn't I more courageous? And you know, now that I know all this from people telling me from the other side, I live every day thinking how will this look in my soul review? How will I think of this moment in my soul review? It's funny. I want to get into the various lenses, which is what this book

is all about. But before I do that, religion is a powerful tool that we basically are given in many in many ways as and I can give that as an example for me. I was forced to go to church, and I rebelled from a very very young age because I questioned the Bible. Yeah, I even questioned the man called Christ because he didn't feel like anything I needed to know about. But what is it about religion that is such an issue for people? Well, here's the deal. I've studied this extensively.

I mean, I grew up Catholic and then I left that church at seventeen when I was out in the world on my own, and I've literally studied every single religious tradition to come to the awareness that there's only one force in this universe, and it's God, the Good God, the loving consciousness that runs this universe. And that even when Jesus was here, when Buddha was here, when all of these enlightened teachers walked the earth, the message

they were preaching was love and compassion. And then humans, especially men in the Catholic Church, rewrote the original Aramaic scriptures of the Bible and changed it. Took out the reincarnation references that Jesus had made when he was here, took out so much language that made it seem and this was the counsel of Nicia that made it. People believe that the only way they connect with God or get to Heaven is by going through a church, whether it's a priest

or a minister or something. That they can't save their own soul unless they do that. That is not at all what God teaches, or what Jesus said, or Buddha or anybody. And instead, what the reason I became a Unity minister, Unity says God is this love and consciousness and lives inside of all of us. And when you begin to look at the world that way, Cliff, it's a game changer. Yeah, it's great, all

right. I want to get into these ego lens. One of the first areas that you talk about is a big one for a lot of people, which is self doubt. And that's huge because you know, you're like questioning your motivations, you're questioning your work, you're questioning everything. So how do we work with that? So this is a surprising viewpoint of that that I have and that I teach, is we have an assumption that the ego is telling us, oh, you're magnificent, you're great, and so we get

it, you know, maybe overconfident when we listen to the ego. I believe it's the opposite. The ego is part of what we have to take when we agree to have a human lifetime, as part of the human mind process, and the ego's only job is to keep us safe and alive here on earth. Our soul has a different agenda. Our soul is here saying it's all about the growth, the spiritual awareness, the love, the compassion.

So the two battling voices are the ego saying, oh, you can't take that risk, Oh you can't go out on a limb and start your own business and live authentically. Nobody will listen to you. You're not good enough. Who do you think you are? That's the ego voice, whereas the soul is saying, we are all divine beings, including me and you, and we've all come in on a sacred mission to use our gifts in a unique way to help make the world a better place. That's the soul's

message. Yeah, I love that. That's a great explanation. You write so much. We can't cover everything that you have in this book. For those of you listening, there's a number of lenses that Sue presents that basically covers the Western cultures, indoctrination and how to kind of move away from it and to begin listening to your higher self being, the divine being that you are having what Sue calls a spiritual awakening. Talk a little bit. You've

already presented different aspects of an awakening. You could have a trauma, a death in the family, have a job you hate, and all of a sudden you're so angry about it that you just blow up and quit. It's not a smart thing to do. But talk about being a divine being. You've you've given us some sense of it. But my teachings and I follow some Hindu here and there, but also just have having been a program director for these big conferences for years, Whole Life Expo and such, I've come

across a lot of different healing teachers. What does it mean to be a divine individual that moves beyond the pain and suffering of the physical. Well, first of all, we're all divine beings, even when we're not acting like we remember that even the worst actors on earth are still divine beings who came here with an intention of soul growth. However, what when we know we're on path is in the midst of our pain, something happens in our life

and we're broken open. We have these two voices, one saying, oh, this is the worst thing that could ever happen. You've got to be angry about this or blameful. But the other voice is going to be saying, let's look for another way to look at this. How could this be serving my highest good? What is my way forward through this? With love, grace and compassion. If we ask for that, we are lifted into that state of higher wisdom and we're able to see it in a different way,

and I'll just explain in my life an example of those two. When my first husband, Paul was diagnosed with cancer, our egos came in and said, Hey, we're mountain climbers, were invincible, We're going to overcome this, and you know, and we learn that, Wow, the lesson was not overcoming it. The lesson was surrendering to what is the lesson here? Not punishment lesson, but lesson for highest good? And it certainly was

different than what we had thought. And then my current husband, who I adore, who I've raised two children with, in twenty eighteen, he was diagnosed with cancer, and my whole approach was different this time because I've been doing this work for so many decades, and my approach was show me the wisdom of what is happening, what is our lesson in this, and how we moved through it. It wasn't hey, I'm going to find the right doctor and heal you and we're gonna this, you know. And I wasn't

angry. It was like, WHOA, Okay, here comes an important lesson turning point for us. Helped me to move through this with grace. And it's interesting because I'm also a numerologist, and that turned out to be a nine year reinvention point for me. Another one, okay, yeah, and suddenly we were selling our Colorado family home of forty years that I loved and raised our children in, and moving without knowing anyone, to Arizona because the

only doctor that offered my husband any hope was here at Mayo Clinic. Oh my god. So another situation where it wasn't a remisst cancer. It was one that is aggressive, right, that you needed to find someone unique that would help you. So right, So we pack up and come here, and the whole time I'm in prayer and I was exhausted by it all. I'm not going to say it was easy. It was a very hard move. But when we got here, I'm in prayer of please show me the

reason I'm here? Where is my soul? Posse, show me my path forward, show me Jean's path. And Jean today, five years later, is doing great. I just want to say that. And for me, I came here knowing no one, and now I have the best friends I have ever had in my life and I'm in my seventies. That just doesn't happen easily. But they are all people who are totally aligned with the same spiritual viewpoint that I have, and they help grieving people the way I help

grieving people. And I never imagined that that move that was about saving Jane was going to also bring my life and work to the next level. And I am so grateful for it. That is how life is when we are open to it. Talk about the messenger, the messages you get get into the higher self. What is your definition of the higher self? And how do we work with this part of ourself that is so important. Yeah,

well, we're always going to have the human mind. We have one foot in the human world and one foot in the divine and that's how we walk this earth life. So there's nobody here who can live twenty four seven in touch with that divine self. I would even say the Dali Lama and the people that we hold most high, they're still human, so they still have that monkey mind that they battle in their own way through meditation or whatever they

do. That is part of our human journey because this realm, its entire purpose is for us to incarnate down here for soul growth and expansion, helping all of us wake up. Remember the light beams story from my vision helping us all wake up to have that light coming from us to help and heal others on earth. So you're always going to battle that monkey mind, that ego mind, but if you develop the muscle that helps you listen more to

the higher voice. In fact, my good friends, the way we talk as we go, well, my human self says, this really is a terrible thing, and my soul says, I'm going to make it through this with love and compassion, and here's how. And you can accept both of those voices in your head, but you get to decide which one do you

choose to believe in and live from. It's so funny. As I was reading your book, I thought to myself, if they taught meditation and school, we would be such a different culture, right because we wouldn't allow the depression and we wouldn't allow the negativity to affect us in such great quantities. It just leads to all kinds of problems. Talk about the problem people have with anger. This is something that you brought up in your book, and

I think a lot of people don't know that they're angry. That's a huge issue, isn't it. Well, anger also I believe on a soul level, is because we remember something different. We remember being in the divine realms, where unconditional love, grace, higher learning is the vibration of the divine

realms. We are always learning and loving and connecting. And then we come down here and this energy on earth is so heavy and so dense and so negative because we're trying to shift it into the light, and so we get down here and it makes us angry, and we don't even know why we're so angry. And I have found that the most rageful people are actually the most highly evolved souls who remember something different, but they've been taught to rethink

their way out of my head. The people that are really angry, who are screaming and yelling at want to punch you, are the ones who are perhaps the most enlightened, but they just are not touching that. They're suffering terribly because they know something here is off and they don't understand, like, why would that bad thing happen over there? I'm going to get angry about

it. But the minute they too can meditate or begin to accept something beyond the traditional religious dogma, the minute they can lift up and there's hope for

all of us, Cliff. I mean, we are at such a tipping point of consciousness, and you and I know there is crazy stuff happening in the world today, including in politics, right, but I would hold for your consideration that the people who are acting out in the worst ways are advanced souls who wanted to make a difference in this world, and they're hurt and lost right now. So we can't go into that with anger and hatred and

all the things we want to argue about now. Instead, we have to practice the one true thing Jesus really did teach, which is to hold each other in love and compassion, no matter how we behave Now, if we can do that to the bad actors in our world, we are letting our light beam shine high and we are tipping point towards light and love. Yeah. I like that. I find that I have periods where I become a recluse because I'm around someone unconscious people, family members, people who are my

close friends, but they just don't get me. You know. It's like, look, this is what I did, this is who I am, this is what I am attracted to, And they're like, who in the hell are you? You know, Uh, well, we have to let go of people, you know. I mean, I grew up in the South and my family thinks I'm the black sheep, you know, and I am. According to them, I'm the black sheep. Well you're well, you're well. You raised in a fundamentalist Catholics, so even becoming a Unity

minister is a terrible thing according to them. They've made it very clear, you know that, Oh Jesus said only through the Catholic Church will you be saved. That is such garbage. Let's go back and read the original Aramaic scriptures. Let's see what Jesus really did say. Let's see who rewrote that Bible, Pope Benedict, Council of Nicia. And what did they have to gain by doing that? Oh, financial abundance and wars all over the world in the name of Jesus. That is not God in my opinion. Yeah,

we had to just hold the light to that whole situation. Yes, we're going to take a short commercial break to allow our sponsors to identify themselves, and we will be right back with my guest today, Sue Frederick, who is coming to us from Arizona. We'll be right back. I guess today is Sue Frederick, who has written a book called Through a Divine Lens.

This is a look at a spiritual life, what it means to be a spiritual person, connecting with the different realms that surround us and are part of who we are, and how to live more harmoniously with the elements and with nature. What do we do about depression? And this is a theme that is in your book as well. As you may not know you're depressed, but if you're around negativity, people who are not inspirational, how do we get around that section. I have the easiest answer to the at and

people don't even believe me until they try it. Yes, you can meditate, Yes you can pray. Yes you can go exercise, you can eat good food, food, all those things raise your vibration. However, you can also simply just do it with me. You take a breath, close your eyes, and just say, please, divine guides, angels, God consciousness, lift me into my higher self. Pull me out of this low vibrational negativity that is affecting me, weighing me down, giving me, giving

me negative thoughts that are depressing. Please lift me into that higher consciousness and we make that request and then something will happen, like a friend might call us. Or even better, if we go out for coffee, for example, and make everybody we run into strangers feel better, say oh you look so beautiful today, Oh you did such a great job at making my coffee, And not get into the negativity of the world and instead just be pumping

the lave out to everybody. You will find your vibration raises so much it's extraordinary. Your book's filled with antidotes and lessons and practical advice on how to lift out of the muck. But can you give us an example of a situation where say you're in an environment which is just heavy and short of leaving, which is always a solution, what would you suggest, say you work it somewhere where it's like everywhere around you as negative and it's just driving you

nuts. Well, I have two different answers. My first book is called I See Your Dream Job and I Do Happen to believe that if your job is sucking your soul away, you need to get out of that job,

and there's a better solution and a better path for you. We have been told in this culture that making economic security financial security is the most important thing here, and that has caused millions and billions of people to give their life away to some form of a corporate god who pays them a measily paycheck for them to sit there and be miserable all day. That is not serving your

soul. And I can guarantee you you have your own gifts and you could make a living in a different way that's more in alignment with who you are. And you can go read my original book I See Your Dream Job if you want to know about that. But that is true for every one of us here. So I think it is very hard cliff for people to sit in a toxic situation day after day and still find their way to the light.

But they can again call out for help during the day. They can send gratitude out to all the negative people they're working with and try to be the one carrying the light into that situation. I have people that are listening to you that are going, oh, she's all airy fairy, what the hell sue you know? Let me tell them my story. I was a single mom, I had a mortgage to pay, I had no one helping me financially, and I had been a writer, meaning I wrote for natural

health magazines and websites after my husband died. That was my holy work, was writing articles about preventing cancer and living healthy and eating well. I love Natural Health Magazine. I used to read it all time. Yeah. So I was making my living in that way as an editor as a writer, and I had been very successful, and I was in the late nineties, I was kicked up to the level of VP of content for websites back when

content was king if you remember those days. Yeah, yeah, right, So I was, you know, honored for my natural health articles and knowledge. And then that all crashed and burned. Literally the company I worked for went under, and then I got another job and it went under. And it happened to me for a year to where I was facing bankruptcy, single mom, and I in my dark night of the soul, and trust me,

it was cliff. I had a four or five year old daughter who didn't want to lose her home because her dad had left, and she wanted her little pink bedroom, and I wanted to keep her life together for her. And in my prayer and my meditation, asking over and over again, what am I here to do? Please help me? The answer came through so clear and said, Sue, for decades, you've given away your soul's wisdom for free. You've given people numerology readings for free over dinner. You

have talked to them spiritually to counsel them. You have channeled in higher awareness for people just in conversation. This is what you've got to show up in the world doing and make your living as now. I was terrified of it, but I literally couldn't get a job anywhere, and so I said, well, I'm going to build a website. And I stayed up for two days building. That was back in the day when you had to go to a software store and I know nothing about technology. Oh you built it from

your scratch on your own. Yes, I went on one of those software things you could buy and bring home and put on your computer, and I built it. I even had my daughter on my lap like saying, you know, mommy's going to make a living doing this now. And she remembers

that and it has inspired her life. She's now turning thirty. And so I made that website and then I started offering free talks everywhere that they have me giving it my heart, my soul, my passion, and because it was my gift and everybody has a different gift, and because it was my truth and my path, it took off because magic happens when you're on your path. Even to the point of my first book, the way I got a contract with a big publisher was I was writing a newsletter every week.

This was again back when content was king. In my newsletter, I would just write stories about working with clients, and it got handed to an editor at a big publishing company in New York. Someone forwarded it to her, and I get a phone call saying, Sue, I'm fascinated by your newsletter. Would you consider writing a book for us? I mean, I think

I had a heart attack on that day. And I tell everybody this is what happens when you finally have the courage to say, this is my gift, this is what I've always known, I'm here to do and give it your heart and soul. I love that story. That's a wonderful story. For those who are listening, who are in the muck, what is your advice for them to be able to hear the higher wisdom of their soul? Or every time you notice you're being cynical, every time you notice you're being

negative or focusing on the muck rather than on the divine. It is your job to ask for a different view of this moment. And your guides are all around you. Your departed loved ones, your angelic guides, your spirit, your god consciousness is always trying to help you. Those spirits have a vested interest in humanity. They are trying to shift us up to this higher vibration. Call out for help so real quickly, I'll interrupt you. So

what would you say? They should say, show me a sign. I don't this is new for me. I don't know what to do about it. I'm in a bad place. I just need a sign of that. Would that be a good starter. That's a great start. Show me a sign, or help pop an idea into my head that I haven't had before.

Those things. In fact, I work with so many grieving clients, and often in the midst of their worst grief, they will say to their beloved on the other side, please just give me a sign, any sign to show me you still exist, and the most amazing sign will happen. I get to hear those stories all the time, and my own husband, Paul made it clear to me. That's how it works. And once you get that sign, of course, your mind is going to go, oh,

that's bologney, you made that up, that's coincidence. But another party you is going to go, wow, that could be real. What if that's real? Now it's your job to lean poor into that perspective. I love that? Is that real? I guess it is. Wait a minute, what's that all about? Right? Right? You talk about lifestyle choices. What is a positive lifestyle choice? Well, part of it is how you spend your day, how you make your living, And I think I

again want to talk about not working in a meaningless job forever. You have to find a way that you feel that you're fulfilling your purpose here. That's a huge important step. We all have a purpose here. And then not spending your life in negativity, whether that means eating terrible food that makes you feel bad, or drinking a lot of alcohol or something that brings your energy

down. You know, we each have we each are in charge of our journeys here, Cliff, I mean we have to take responsibility for that. And so I can say, wow, I know in my seventy something years on the planet that when I eat terrible food, or if I even have a beer, my energy drops. So I've purposely made different choices. And

we each have those kinds of knowingness about the things that help us. And you need to make conscious choice that you want to feel better, that you want to have that higher view, and take at least a tiny baby step in that direction. Yeah, I totally hear that. I like what you suggest when it comes to creating a discipline daily practice. And I know for myself that in the periods where I was either in a relationship I can't remember

where I was not meditating. I stopped meditating for a year or two, I was out of control. Oh, I totally understand that was not connected. But talk a little bit about some daily examples of practices that help you connect with your higher wisdom. Well, you and I have been meditators for a long time because I learned TM and the seventies. You know, and I know without any doubt that when I don't spend the first ten to twenty minutes of a morning and try to get up early and sit and do mantra

and quiet that monkey mind that launches my day in the right direction. When I don't do it like if I oversleep and I'm suddenly late, Like I just feel off all day, and so I've got to find those ten to twenty minutes to sit in the silence, to quiet the mind, to connect to the soul. Think of it this way. This is a noisy world and we are pulled out of ourselves all day long. Your only job is

to be quiet and listen to a different voice. That can be ten minutes a day, and it's really good to do it first thing in the morning because it sets the tone for your day. Yeah. I like that. The other examples you have are chanting and another one which I thought was kind of cool, and I want you to talk about this too, reflection. Yeah. Well, I work with clients every day where we do the soul review of their life while they're still here, and that's such an important thing.

That's actually kind of fun. Yeah, And I map it out through numerology because everybody has their own unique nine year reinvention cycles that they go through, and we'll say, all right, well, let's look at your life through the soul's point of view. You know what was happening when you hit that nine year reinvention And they'll go oh, that's when my boyfriend broke up with me, or that's when I hated my job, and I you know,

I was lost. And once you begin to see that all your life, whenever you have thought that you did something wrong because all these hard things were happening in your life, it was actually a life plan agreement that you would hit that point so that you could reinvent to a higher way of living. And we have to look at our lives that way and self reflection and ask those questions like, could I have done better by loving people more,

being more positive, being kinder, going after a different career path? Can I do that now? Is there a way I can make that shift now? I mean, I've had my own experiences of getting out of my body and seeing this life and going, oh wow, I need to make corrections, you know, and coming back and being determined that I'm going to live it from a higher, loving perspective. And we each have that opportunity. The longer we live, the more chance we have to wake up and get

it right while we're here. I love that. I want you to to give some examples of the knowingness that happens when you begin to connect with the divine. If somebody's been in muck, and I use the word muck, that can be that can stand for a lot of different things. Yes, But if someone's been suffering, traumatized or whatever, and they're beginning and they want to shift to the spiritual self and they say they try to meditate or they try to reflect, or they try they found a chant that they like.

What is a sign that it's beginning to work and they're beginning to get clarity the words they hear coming out of their own mouth. So if they're repeating their problems over and over and blaming this person or that person for what's wrong in their life, then they're very much immersed in the muck. The minute they begin to say, well, maybe there's a different way I can look at this, or how can I try to get a better job, or how can I heal my relationship with my partner and be more loving instead

of so blameful. These are all perspectives that come from being in the higher self. So by your own behavior, by your own words that come out of your mouth, your own choices that you make every day, you are showing yourself where you are in that continuum. And you know in unity. We teach that one of the easiest ways to shift into that higher self is gratitude, and that can be as simple as, oh, I am grateful for this amazing sun that is shining outside of my window. Oh I am

grateful that I had coffee this morning and it got me feeling good. Those tiny little gratitude things begin to shift our energy into that higher place. Is that because that you're aligning yourself with more of a positivity with the part energy, And that's that's the true nature of how we're supposed to live in the divine reality. I mean you mentioned at the beginning, we're really in a

dense, combative, traumatizing world right now. I have heard that Earth is the only place where souls incarnate here and completely forget that they are part of God. That there are other galaxies and other places where souls incarnate where they remember that they are part of God. But here we forget everything we you know, they call it the veil of forgetfulness, and there's reasons for that. You know, we have to be able to play the game here in

order to learn from it. But you know that veil of forgetfulness means that we have to strive to not believe everything thing we see, and what I've been told by spirits is that nothing on earth is really as it seems, which means that for example, my husband Paul, going through terrible what the people called tragedy of a young death to cancer, was his own soul's way of burning up some negativity that he needed to burn up from many lifetimes that

he couldn't break patterns of, or he thought he couldn't break patterns of in any other way. So his soul chose a path of physical suffering. We don't have to choose that, but some souls do. And by the time he crossed, he was a pure being of love and light. And so when we begin to ask, like, when I look at that tragedy, is there possibly another way to view it? Yeah? Wow, that's amazing. I've had deaths in my family that have been very, very traumatic for

me as well. My grandfather, who was like my father. When he passed, I was just no good for two years. I had to go to therapy and it was just traumatic because you lean on that person for so much of your of your wisdom and guidance, you know, And that's the big thing. But the thing is they're still here, He's still whispering in your ear. How do we contact people like that? Do we just say in our meditation, you know, grandfather, I need to connect with you.

Tell me. Well. I used to teach workshops on this, and I still do it occasionally, where I teach that you can picture that person the way you remember them as their best, happiest self, not maybe when they were sick or falling apart later in life. You want to remember them as their best self and hold that picture with love, with laughter, with light, and then ask them to give you some guidance. And you've got

to pick up your pen and paper immediately and start writing. And I would have a room of forty and fifty people, each connecting to their own departed loved one and writing very quickly, and then we would share and read to

each other what we had received. It was mind blowing. Even the most cynical person would get writing that would begin to sound exactly like they're departed voice, and what they're departed would actually say to them, and as they would read it, you know, tears would be streaming down their face, going, I know that was my son, I know it was. And so you need your own personal experience of connecting that way and writing what you receive.

And the reason I say picture a happy vision of them is because it lifts you up to a higher vibration and we have to raise our vibration in order to feel them and connect with them because they're in a very high vibrational plane. Yeah, you know, it's funny. There are various stages throughout the ages that say we're a God, we're incarnated to God, and we just don't know it. And it would be wonderful if we had a mystery school, sacred school that would show us how to connect with the departed,

how to work with the lifetimes. Here it's just and it's coming back in bits and pieces. Meditation. You can get these Hindu guys coming to the Americas, you know, here and there. But we're so challenged as physical beings that sometimes we forget that we have the ability to do these things right.

Well, this is a crazy time on earth, and I really don't want anybody feeling bad about themselves if today they're very depressed or angry or anxious, because those are going to be normal, normal feelings in the world today.

But think of it, this way. It's also our opportunity to see all the things going on that upset us, and then to shift, with help from spirit, into the place of saying, I am grateful that I'm taking another breath and I have another chance to see this differently, and I am calling in spirit Angel God departed loved ones to help me see the good in the world. Because God, the good lives in every minute of every day of this life. We just have to see it that way. Wow.

The book's called Truly Divine Lens. My guest has been Sue Frederick. Sue, you have a section in your book that I'm always curious about. It's called soulmates. And it's funny because most people think, Okay, I have to find my soulmate or I won't be whole. Talk a little bit about soulmates, because you know, it's not just I've always learned this and you can tell me your opinion, but soulmates can be friends. YEA,

many soulmates in our lives. We have many, and they come in for different reasons and they're part of our soul posse that we have incarnated in many lifetimes with. And one soulmate may come in to be your first heartbreak and your twenties to help you wake up and figure out who you are. And then another soulmate may come in to be your best friend to help you process life. Another soulmate can come in later to be the one you have a

home and family with. All of these agreements are made before the lifetime and what we have to do to find them and recognize them. You know what I'm going to say, raise our own vibration. Try to live our life according to our true work, our true purpose, and that holds our energy in such a high vibrational place that the people we have these soul agreements with can come with us at the right time and join our lives and help us

live that true purpose of our lifetime journey. Give me an example of somebody who not necessarily would be a intimate soulmate, somebody who would be a friend. How would you know that they're a soulmate. Well, I'm so used to trusting my heart and my gut that I kind of know it in the first conversation. But if it makes you, if the relationship makes you feel happy and loving and excited and even exhilarated with new ideas, this is somebody

you've known before in another life. When I moved here to Arizona and I was connected with these women who I love so much, who do the same kind of spirit work that I do. The first coffee meeting we ever had together, I was crying. I was like, oh my god, I remember all. I'm so happy I found you again in this life. And that's how you feel when you reconnect with soulmates that you've known through many,

many lives. I love that you're so moved, that you're moved to tears, and you're surrounded by these people that you probably remember from different lifetimes. It's so funny. That's another thing that's really depressing about the current point of view is that in our society, Western culture, reincarnation is not looked at as something that's a functional tool. And there's research to show and you know

this, So many scientists have done research with children. There's even a new Netflix documentary about it, which I can't remember the name of, where they interview these young children who are having very specific memories of a past lifetime and they actually go and trace that previous life with those details. And then what's so interesting is by the time the child is five or six, being programmed by school, by teachers. By all of that, they began to forget

all this, and by the time they're teenagers they even deny it. So the documentary followed this one child from about the age of three on through teenage years, and in his teenage years he was like, oh, I don't talk about that stuff anymore. But in his childhood he was missing and longing and grieving for He would wake up in the night telling his mom, where are my children? I want to go home, and he would vividly describe

where he had lived before. My own daughter did this when she was little, where she would tell me things like remember last time when I was the mom, and I would look at her and go, okay, tell me about that. I would be looking at my kid going okay, give it to me, kid, Yeah, tell me tell me about it now so I can be a better mom to you. Did it help, she had to say, Did it make any sense? Yeah? I mean I know she's an old soul because my daughter came to me before she was born.

If I can share this story, I was forty three and I had been told I couldn't get pregnant, and I was quite sad about that, because I'd lost my husband and so many people I loved. And you know, when you're widowed in your thirties and everybody you know is getting married and having children, you feel like a fish out of water. And I was so brokenhearted. And suddenly I was dating someone long distance. I was forty three.

I'd never been able to get pregnant, and I'm really miraculously got pregnant, but I didn't know it yet. And one night, in a dream vision, I was I flew into this big house. It was all white space, white rooms, and I flew into this one room and this little girl was standing against the wall and she looked at me, and she had blonde hair and brown eyes and a beautiful face. And I flew up to her and I said, are you my little girl? And she said yes,

and I said, so you're going to be my daughter now. She said I think so. And I said, well, what's your name? And she said something soft like Sarah. And I just looked at her and I said, I just want you to know I really really love you. And she looked at me with this ancient wisdom and said, and I really really love you. And nine months later, I was holding in my arms this perfect, beautiful little girl named Sarah who has been the light of my

life. I love that story. That's wonderful through a divine lens. As we conclude, Sue, who should read this book? Who is this book for? Well, especially if someone is grieving or really feeling angry at the world or career having trouble manifesting their true work. They'll find tools and ideas and techniques in that book that will really help them see it a different way. Wonderful. All right, How can people get a hold of you?

I see you have a website here, give us your web address, Sue Frederick dot com s U E F R E D E R I c K dot com. I also have a YouTube channel and lots of books on Amazon excellent. And there's also one here called career intuitive dot org. Is that they both go to the same place. Oh okay, fantastic, Hey, Sue, real pleasure, and we're gonna have to have you back. I really you just rip into it. It's great, you've been tapped into this for so long. It's fun to speak with you. Yeah, it was

really fun. Thank you, Cliff. It's good to have Sue on the program. You know it's funny. I was thinking of some of the people

I've had at conferences who have had near death experiences. These are people who have been declared dead on the operating table or had massive carnaries and were pronounced dead for periods of time, and they went to the place we call heaven or the other realms, or they shifted and when they were told it's not their time to die, and they came back some of the some of the information that they received from whatever the individuals were, the the you can call

them angels, you can call them friends, you can call them guides, whatever is that. Earth is a college, Earth is a university. Earth is a challenge, and when you're physical, it's also very very challenging. You can read books, you can get books now that talk about the higher realms. When you leave your body, when you're a spirit, where you're when you're a soul was pure energetic soul. You don't have the cumber someness of the body, and it's a lot easier to get around, a lot

easier to project thoughts and things like that. Again, we are this dense body, cellular body, and we are surrounded by other bodies, and we're surrounded by unseen vibrations in our microwaves and our cell phone towers, in our streaming media. We're getting bombarded and this is just causing havoc. And I'll tell you if I didn't meditate, I'd be in serious trouble. I mean,

I was just thinking of it when she was talking about. The point I'm trying to make is you have to have as many tools in your arsenal of clarity of wellness as you can find. Some people go out and jog and they get they feel better, you know, because they have a hormone dump and they also have a cleansy. It's a detox, but that's physical. I think you know you can do that. That helps a lot.

But if you can shift your mind, if you can leave insanity for twenty minutes, for a half an hour, whatever meditative process that you do, it is so profound. And I remember reading in fact, you can go and look for transidental meditation benefits and you'll see these very, very detailed scientific reports that really are not necessarily talking about transidental meditation. They're talking about the effects of meditation on the brain and on the body. It is so beneficial.

In fact, some people are considering it one of these longevity techniques where you when you meditate, you keep the brain young, you keep the brain active, and an active young brain and a healthy body is a solution for longevity and for obvious wellness. So I have found that this technique of meditation is huge, and we heard it from Sue. I have tried to give everybody an idea how to do it. I think that also, I think

there's also techniques in the form of prayer that could be really beneficial. I think the bottom line is quieting the brain, quieting the busy mind, and that is really a huge challenge. We got our cell phones, we've got TV, we've got radio, we got movies, we've got all kinds of stuff that are taxing our consciousness and it's not good. So anyhow, get her book. Her book's quite interesting. Actually, it's a it's an easy read through a divine lens. Came out in June. Came out in June
