This week Des and Mike took a look at Fantastic Four #554 (the first of 16 issues by Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch), Fantastic Four: The Lost Adventure (a hidden "gem" by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and friends), Ghost Rider #20 (in which Jason Aaron and Roland Boschi began their run), Marvel Adventures Hulk #8 (starring the Defenders) and Punisher: Force of Nature (wherein the Punisher stalks three men lost at sea).
Of the five comics Des and Mike reviewed this week -- Clandestine #1, Lords of Avalon: Sword of Darkness #1, Marvel Illustrated: Moby Dick #1, The Twelve #2 and Uncanny X-Men #495 -- it's suggested that two be added to your pull list, and one is said to be a "modern classic in the making." Also, a Marvel Illustrated book finally impresses both men.
Ewoks, Captain America #34, vacations, birthdays and fanboys are discussed. Oh yeah, Jenny and Mike also review the Danny Boyle film Sunshine.
After Mike makes an announcement about episode 200, he and Des review five comic books slated for release this week: The Darkness #2, Marvel Adventures Fantastic Four #32, Spider-Man: With Great Power... #1, What If? Spider-Man vs. Wolverine and Witchblade #114.

For six months Desmond Reddick and Michael David Sims have examined DC's weekly series Countdown. Overall, their feelings about the series have been less than enthusiastic. Despite having been disappointed, they swore to trudge forward, hoping Countdown would get better as the series crossed into the final 26 issues. It didn't, and as they sat down to record for a seventh month, their spirits broke.
With all of their technical difficulties solved (for now), Des and Mike return to review five comics scheduled for release this Wednesday: Amazing Spider-Girl #15, The Angelus Pilot Season, Atomic Robo #3, Dark Sector #0 and Fantastic Four #552. In fact, in response to Mike's love for one of the comics, Des said, "I'm shocked this book isn't cancelled yet." Ouch!
