想表達需要....時，"I want a pizza."或"Give me a pizza."雖然在文法上沒錯，但對於母語者來說，前者（want）帶有強硬的語氣，後者更糟帶著命令的語氣，都是不妥的。較適切的表達應該是"I would like a pizza."既禮貌且正確。
此外，適時加上please，語意會更謙和客氣。例如"Could I have a pizza.please?"
