The loss of Oswald was a profound personal and professional setback for me. He was the first character to capture my ambitions for animation, and his departure was like losing a part of my own creative spirit. Yet, it was in this moment of financial peril and creative void that I found the inspiration for something new. In the sketches that followed, Mickey Mouse came to life—a character born out of necessity, embodying the resilience and hope I clung to. Mickey wasn’t just a new venture; he was a testament to perseverance, a symbol that from the ashes of defeat, we can rise to create our greatest successes.
