This month is a rare split episode, because our initial plan would have resulted in an episode that was too short! First, we cover the 2013 comic book adaptation of Plants vs. Zombies. It's a cute kids' comic about two plucky youngsters to team up with Crazy Dave and his mutant plants to stop the zombies from taking over Neighborville. Is it profound? Not really. But it's a great way to read some cute jokes and see charming drawings of those already charming plants. The back half of the episode ...

Assembled well-wishers, welcome to the land of crunch. Lords of Magic is a 1997 strategy game that is unlike anything we've covered for the show. It takes a high fantasy medieval theme and stacks a bunch of different strategy and RPG game types on top of each other, creating a complex and interlocking set of systems and levels of zoom. You play as one of the faiths of Urak, amassing an army of allies and conquests to defeat Balkoth, the Lord of Death... but not before reading the manual! Support...

Kranky Kratos takes his vengeance quest to a brand new pantheon: the pantheon of fatherhood. Kole and Gary take an axe to the skull of this 2018 prestige game, and by take an axe to the skull, I mean we give a careful, considered look to this very good but still flawed cinematic game.

This week we talk about the Dark Souls II mod "Augur of Darkness", created by Vampirick/Vempire. It's a remix mod that changes some of the level geometry and pathing substantially, in addition to altering boss and enemy encounters. While the mod is inconsistent about what it chooses to alter throughout the course of what was already a very big game, there's enough to recommend it for your next playthrough. At the very least, it was fun to talk about and we hope you find it interesting.
