hello and welcome to season 6 episode 36 of Dualistic Unity I am excited to uh get into whatever we get into and I feel like I say excited is the first that's like one of my goto back pocket sort of things and I'm I'm catching myself a little bit more often when I go to those back pocket things and I think that's that's a big part of it is just noticing some of those things so we have a uh inredible guests today but I will pass it to Ray and Amanda to continue this
introduction oh well thank you so much everyone for joining us this is um a first ofit kind episode you know because this is Levi joining us not only as our friend and and co- Adventurer but also as a co-host and he has officially joined our the DU team and I so excited to have you Levi this is going to be um really interesting and very excited to find out where what direction we go in and how we don't need to have any like designated Direction in order to make the most of
this wonderful opportunity together I'm uh I have no problems saying excited as we all seem to be sharing our excitement and uh it's because there there was no preparation for this episode whatsoever a as always there's no no preparation for these episodes and it's fantastic that Levi you just jumped into The Fray with us because I know you've done a an episode of Raw previously but we talked about some stuff at that point uh we were talking about your offer of uh one-onone
chats that are available through the website anybody looking for that go to dualistic unity.com Levi that'll take you to his listings um but because of that we had a very specific conversation about relationship and and and authenticity and and the I guess the work that we do on ourselves and can do when we have the space to do so with others this one we have no no direction and so I would like to say before we pass it over to Levi that I think the involvement in dualistic Unity
with people like Levi and and Jazz and we've had others uh of course Jackie has been involved and a number of other people are are behind the scenes we have f who is deeply involved in the administrative end and all that but the fact that it comes from their own enthusiasm their own I guess Earnest authenticity or or their own Earnest I want to say commitment to their journey and and it's not because it's some Pitch because we're not pitching anything I think that's the
funny part about this like we're not offering a silver bullet there's no like you're going to be enlightened if you do this there's no saving of the world carrot you know there's none of that and and when it comes down to even a monetary compensation there's a limit on it you know so we are going out of our way to not make involving yourself with dualistic Unity appealing um in an egotistical sense we don't want you to become part of what we're doing in order to be more valuable
or to have more purpose or to have a greater sense of meaning we just want you to live your life and if you have want to spend some of your time with dualistic Unity through dualistic Unity you know expressing yourself as much as you can within that space and even adding to that space that's amazing because it's not it's not something you're being enticed to do and so I just wanted to say Levi it's it's been exciting man to meet you from one Retreat to another and
to continue to have conversations with you all the time and so I am stoked that you are here but I would I would be very curious or I would rather say that uh I think our listener might be curious to hear how you found your way into this conversation and how it's been for you since you joined this conversation and and and in fact maybe how your perspective of what this conversation is might have changed over time as well I know it's a lot to throw at you all at once Welcome to The Gauntlet
yeah yeah no uh I'm excited too by the way I just got to say that uh so yeah it's cool to be here and for sure just you know jumping into something as uncertain as this conversation is of course very very exciting um and yeah okay so you know how I came to this conversation was basically one day kind of just discovering that the way I was living my life which was like chasing chasing chasing something just didn't make sense I spent all my time doing that uh and and then one day
I just kind of really realized it and I had this sense of Peace in me and what typically happens then or what happens for me at least is like then I need to kind of uh first of all figure out what what the hell happened kind of during this kind of really light feeling that I was certainly feeling and that led me down kind of a um yeah an exploration through like all the books you've all heard about you know uh eer to uh a whole bunch of these books uh and and a lot of them they kept
giving me kind of these small hits of of this relief you know with this small insights along the way uh and then um yeah I kept going for that that path went into kind of meditation qu of quite hardcore went to a couple of Silent Retreats learned a lot from that uh and uh just went really hard into like yoga meditation and I feel that became like the most like that was a real crutch for me during like a very stressful period of my life where I was just like the only reason I'm
holding on is because of like the yoga the meditation and and then my life became even more stressful and then I started to stop doing the meditation and yoga as much and then everything just kind of unraveled sort of and and that was about the time when I came across uh came across a video from Andrew as I know most most people do this part about um that I'm not really who I think I am and this whole identity thing and I remember that was just like whoa like it
was just it made so much sense but I didn't understand it you know and and then it kind of led me to start listening to you guys uh and yeah in the beginning like it was for sure just the conversation and I was so hungry for it it was like I just wanted to talk about this with everyone and no one wanted to talk to me about it you know because yeah and and then suddenly I had this this place like d Unity with the chats and and the podcast and kind of really getting like an outlet I think
for a lot of the things that was in me and I feel like that was actually probably the perfect thing at that time you know to just kind of get it all out uh sort of so so I really appreciated that in the beginning like kind of having that space for people to listen to me and I know like in the beginning it was a lot about uh you know me and and my problems and and stuff like that and just having people who who kind of sit there and and um uh yeah listen I I remember like some of the times that
really it hit me was just just being listen to to be honest I I think that that's pretty awesome it's it's a cool space that's awesome and I wanted to mention that of course and I I like this about the community because we have the groups which you've you know participated in and as you just said it was nice to be heard and listened to right as opposed to judged and used to validate um but then you joined the Discord Community as well I'm going to throw the link up here for anybody who's
interested um where and I and I enjoy this you often weigh in on what other people are going through like you'll listen to them and you'll give them a heartfelt response and it doesn't take a whole lot of time but there's value to it and and in doing that you also give yourself you know kind of a practice in the stuff that you've reflected over in your own individual time like it all of a sudden what that person is communicating to you seems so much more clear than it used to because you used
to tell yourself a very similar story and so how has that been just just the experience of realizing that everything that you're experiencing your your whole life has value like there there is there's very much you know there are lessons and insights that you know and can communicate that other people couldn't from your perspectives and and they make it riple like that I'm curious to see how that experience has been for you yeah no that's been really interesting I
got to say because it's like and it's like it's it's these things I feel because just like the switch from like the conversation and like listening to you guys until like really starting to go into uncertainty myself and kind of experiencing these things firsthand there's so many times I've like come over an experience the like oh that's what they're talking about you know well I heard it I was like oh amazing you know you know it's like because but then it's like oh yeah oh right right and
then because it's like it's kind of like I feel like almost everything has to be like experienced and and I feel like when I come across like people who I see are kind of struggling with the same things I've been doing like really concerned with for example work which which I for sure uh was and it's like I feel that it's like yeah I don't know I think I'm just I think I'm just talking about my experience to be honest when when I'm kind of if if I see there's a
need to it and and when I see people are really caught up in their thoughts which I've been a lot just kind of like it's like it's just kind of I don't know it's some but it is interesting because I see that it's like but you don't have to listen to it and it's almost like frustrating but also like wonderful you know it's like and it's there's a way to just kind of lighten the whole experience by by not kind of attaching to to those thoughts as much and yeah I
feel that's like that's like yeah anyway um it's been very interesting and and I appreciate being able to kind of convey it somehow you know but but I I yeah I'm trying not to like be too much on people about it either because it's like it's just I one thing about my kind of Journey that I kind of reflected a little bit upon because I've been kind of there's this need to like get people to do this and and listen to you guys for example but it's like all the things
all the steps in my journey I I chased myself you know it was no one came and told me like you need to listen to these guys you know or you need to do this because I did it and had amazing experience like no one did that I was like oh [ __ ] this is interesting this is interesting and now that's not interesting anymore but this is and it's like you kind of just I just been following kind of the whatever's been interesting uh at the at the point so there's there's balance there between
like telling people something versus just yeah I guess just being whatever I am now so absolutely and and I'll throw in before I pass it over to Andrew and Amanda that I hear this a lot not just from myself as as I was kind of going through the coaching thing at first but you know from Andrew and other people in the community where it's like all I can do is just talking about my experience like right but if you remove the M all you can do is talk about experience all
all you're doing is talking about what it is to exist to experience things from your per perspective wholly that's something that everyone can relate to because we're all doing the same thing it's just that we take ownership over it well it's my experience not your experience it's like we've all experienced something very similar to that you know just to whatever degree in whatever Spectrum we exist in right we have more of an ability to relate than I think we are willing to admit to a very
large degree because as our ego always says you know my pain is special it doesn't want to say like pain is pain for everyone so I just wanted to to say all around especially to our listener you know you may find that all of all of the things you communicate come through the story of you or come through your own experiences or the way you self-reflect but the same is true for all of us we have no other way to to interpret our experience and so don't don't dwell on that too much use that to
your advantage you know relate to us through that I'll pass it on yeah I think so much of that comes down to just being willing to express whatever you are whatever you're bringing to the moment not so much about curating any sort of message because yeah Levi I resonate a lot with the uh that sort of process of wondering you know is there is there another way and then looking into the books the the stories and getting that those hits of feeling more free but was still always
revolved around how I thought about myself for the most part and there would be like a very quick back and forth between you know feeling relaxed but also feeling good about myself getting more you know confident with things feeling like I could handle things a lot better and it still circled around me and so it was very much then became like a sort of Maintenance thing as opposed to like being willing to just show up without you know a need to prepare like having a trust in in myself
to be able to show up and whatever you know I'm able to bring to the table on that day and and even just that the uh the lack of weight with that it's it's something that you can't get across necessarily one way or the other but you express kind of via you know whatever ever you're doing but as soon as yeah for me as soon as it became about you know the words and saying the correct things became about something that very much meant something about me and it uh
yeah it can it can definitely tie you up and so much of it really does become about the the application just yeah just showing up as you are and like being able to relate to people through that for sure yeah um it becomes more about the application and less about the applicator and and so I love you know when you had said before like you know what we bring to the table and then like when I was at like my egoic high be like [ __ ] that I am the table and now it
feels like I'm space for the table and so it matters less like what's being brought to it what the tables made out of it's just space for tables and and then it feels like to some degree other tables are interlocking and the tables just getting wider and bigger and bigger and bigger and no one's trying to own the table and so I really appreciate that's what this space feels like and this space feels co-creative and not just something that is overwhelming or something to manage and so I really
appreciate the way that you show up Levi and and it's not too much but it is so much that is very much appreciated so thank you yeah now as as this is the this is Levi episode for the audience we want to go through a few other things introducing you and all that uh of course as some people may have noticed this week you're doing yoga with us now uh very excited for the yoga series not just the yoga series but the mental stretching series uh where you and Andrew will be
discussing some insights about yoga about being about existence as a whole uh so that's two series and then I believe we have a third series uh Levi with Levi which is I'm pumped for that uh but that said maybe you could tell us a little bit about your yoga Journey because I know that's a journey that a lot of people have been on and I know that it can take just like this conversation your view of it may have changed over time so I'm very curious to hear your thoughts about doing yoga with
us yeah yeah know it's because it is it is a journey that kind of has been uh very on and off for me like very much on in the beginning right and then I did like yoga every day for a year and then it was like everything [ __ ] sucks and then I went to India and just took the yoga teacher education because I I just wanted to escape everything and then I came back after like two months and and then I was like I want to leave again you know so I got this yoga job at some retreat in Vietnam
or something and then I was there and I I think I mentioned this before but it was just the most wonderful place ever and I had this super chill job as a yoga teacher and I just still felt the same you know it was it was still me there uh with me um and that that was like one of that was a real slap in the face uh you know I was just yeah so so that was kind of I think that was a real turning point and then I was like okay so this this isn't it uh and then I kind of kind of
started to go inward I would say like more or like being more honest with myself maybe or whatever I was doing um also like went back and kind of back into my life again sort of and and just sat in that for for quite a while um yeah so after that it's been like I'm doing some yoga from time to time just because because I think it feels really nice uh I don't meditate a lot um but I feel I I feel it's like more of a daily it's like more like a a practice all the time I feel just to
catch myself thinking about things I don't need to think about I mean that's I feel that's that's what it is and uh that's there of course but it's not like sitting down so so I feel like yeah so Yoga Yoga yeah but yeah still still I feel yoga is is kind of a it's a really it's really it is a really nice practice CU because you can you can practice it's like it's almost like yeah it's first of all it's really feels good and and you can kind of really go into like being present with
yourself I feel I I really do enjoy it and and I yeah and this yeah and to kind of go into this uh yoga class with Andrew now and kind of go in without this normal like prepared class and all that [ __ ] because it's like I just realized more and more it's like being there in class with your students repeating the class in your head including like the Sanskrit names and everything you know it's like where are you are you there with your students where are you yeah yeah so it's like I
think that that would be an incredible experience to to do together Andrew and just like really practice it because I felt in the first time I was a little bit freaked out about it to be honest but it's like it it I think like it's it's a cool cool practice but yeah yeah so that was a little bit about my yoga journey I yeah I guess that's awesome I'm excited for that you see I like how that was communicated and I'm sure Andrew's had his own experience in ter in terms of doing yoga because he was
doing yoga with Jackie for a little bit now he's doing yoga with you and there are of course differences in both mentalities is because it's like a difference in every conversation right every conversation is different so every yoga practice would be different but I like that there's almost an abandonment of of the form right because I think that's far more organic I found the same thing to be true uh in terms of like Wing Chun even teaching martial arts to some degree or or uh raiki or any of
those things that everybody wants to focus just on the structure just go through the routine do it that way but there's no level of presence and because there's no level of presence the presid there's no actual adaptability so I'm very excited for the insights that are going to be communicated through that series and I'm going to pass it over to Andrew now because I know he's part of that series yes oh yeah yeah and as long as you're following that structure it's
like it's so much easier to miss certain things too like even noticing you know parts of my body or you're mentioning walking and how your hip one of your hips are tight and your gate you know you drag your leg and you know just the more attention you're paying the more the more it's almost like the more bang for your buck you get out of every moment you know you can really dig in because there's like a depth to each moment that like the more you're kind of
Blazing over structures falling routine it's like you don't sink into it it's still you're experiencing things but it's almost like a Glazed version so it's interesting too going through the uh that yoga session because I enjoy I enjoy following that flow and to me as someone who hasn't done much yoga like I would have no idea that could have been something that you had practiced like a hundred times and had a very rigid structure to the way that it felt like
it was a very you know natural flow so I just find it fascinating how often we'll think that you know some structure is g to get us somewhere it's like guarantee something that has been done in a certain way is going to you know work again in the future with some semblance of certainty just because it has in the past and like the abandonment of that is like whoa you know I I got to I got to take the next step without looking around so much and then but it's like that shift between focusing on
structures and not so much like I mentioned in one of our episodes when I realized how much my notebook was a crutch for uh for our podcast episodes and I would constantly be writing down notes because just in case you know just back pocket but it also didn't keep me I would miss things it was like I was kind of glazing over a lot of the conversation just picking out bits that I could you know I resonated with I would responded to instead of really listening and and paying attention to
what was being said and so letting go of those structures a lot of times can feel like jarring at first like there is a period of a of a shift where it's like whoa this was relied on and then it's like almost feels like relearning certain things but there's there's an excitement to it too it's like new things can come from that there's actual potential that comes from that and who knows maybe one day we'll be doing a yoga session and you'll come up with a brand new yoga move and name on the spot
and like that's that's exciting to know that that's the only place that novel insights and experiences can really come from is like the abandonment of the structure entirely as much as you can right because I I think that you know this conversation hilariously reminds me of nachos and only because when we went to a restaurant the other night um there were structural support nachos and and the nachos so we ordered a large nachos with beef and they're Supreme so they have
tomatoes they've got sour cream they've got the cilantro the beef the cheese magnificent but it had been sitting there for just a minute too long and they all kind of like solidified together so when you were pulling out a piece of it it was kind of crumbling but then there were these plain nachos which we will we will say they symbolize structure by itself and the Magnificent plate of nachos is like sensitivity and S the structure without the sensitivity is just a plain chip but the structure
acting as nothing more than a tool for the sensitivity adds that structural support but the structural support by itself it's just a plain nacho chip and you can do you you can make that work but using the the structural nro to support the sensitivity the Richer the Richer experience the Richer depth is amazing to combine those two so yes structure is not by itself the Silver Bullet but structural support now that sounds like it could be useful without becoming the entire focus of the
experience itself I I really feel it's like it's kind of like uh the pendulum again because I've been an extreme structure guy right my whole life has been you know very much under control and it's just yeah it's again finding that balance right between uh so so I feel I feel that for sure like structure has has a place in this world uh absolutely but but yeah it's it's really nice to just try and and see that you you can do it without it you know and just it's
fine you know maybe uh yeah so yeah but I agree it's not uh that's awesome I was just thinking did we just come up with like the Zen of eating nachos oh yes that's quite good we also invented Notch jering which trying to combine nacho engineering for the structural support you know there was real thinking going into this serious on yesterday at dinner it's it's always such fun um another thing I want to talk about because I I know through our conversations and and some of our group
chats also hanging with you at the Retreats uh to which we will see you in November very excited about that um we've we've talked a lot about I guess not Collective action but action that has an impact on the collective um and uh lately we've been doing the uh investor round uh that we just finished here on the DU side and then we were talking to you about in business ideas ways that we can collaborate on things ways that we can have some social impact because we can
not because we trying to save anybody but just because you know if so much of what we're doing is divisive then something that's not based in division is going to have an impact one way or another uh you've had some ideas in the past in terms of ways to interact with your communities and business ideas and whatnot um and I know that you resonated with our our general concept of if no one person in the company is making more than anybody else then there's just more
and more resources I was wondering if you'd like to chat about that for a bit oh yeah this is very interesting I mean this is like it's like I feel like for a while I've been it's like you look around for like places who kind of work and interact with and it's just no matter where you go it's kind of like it's coming from very very very often like no matter it's like it's all about the money it it always is it's and it's like it you see it you feel it you know and
at least over time and just just like hearing like you guys how you think about yeah running a business it's like it's cap salaries it's it's all about kind of taking the money back into the company and and making like cool projects out of it you know creating uh yeah I don't know many different things but it's like and yeah I feel like I'm I'm uh running a little bit faster now but I'll try to calm down a little bit excitement's good yeah yeah yeah yeah exactly right the
way Levi yeah yeah uh so basically I I you know I really want to do something similar here you know in in in Norway and kind of be a part of of that I feel like this is like this is a new way of doing business uh kind of because it's like you you have these you have these opportunities when you kind of cap the salaries and taking the money back and kind of and even like letting the employees kind of run with with projects they want to do in their local community and kind of go out there and
and create impact without being kind of measured in all those standard ways and I feel like if if all these small projects kind of are allowed to kind of Blossom up in a in a in a small city or a community or whatever big one for that sake but like it it will change the city you know it's it's certainly I think a lot of people would be also attracted to just come A Part be a part of that journey and and and um uh yeah run like and it's it's also like if you're making
a business where you're doing stuff you're interested in and and kind of you want to you you can you can do a project that you and fun you know it's something you like to do some some way you want to interact with the community whether it's creating some food like a community dinner you want to you know sit and chat with people you know somewhere once a week or wherever it's like you can do all these things and it doesn't even have to cost anything for people uh if
if you kind of have the money to kind of pull into projects like this so and it's very interesting and it's like I yeah it's um yeah I'll I'll stop a bit because but I'm I'm excited I guess that's the bottom line that is awesome and I agree in terms of I think people want this I I I think it was really interesting because I remember when uh Obama ran for president in the US his slogan was yes we can and that that struck a cord with people in a way that I had not seen politically up until
that point just just that statement yes we can and everybody translated it differently that's what was brilliant about that statement but it was that yeah we can and then that got translated into well well they can for us right like that's pretty much it let's just elect them they'll do it but I I think that sentiment of we can do something it's just that we don't feel empowered to do so you know we feel even isolated in our desire to do so so I would I would say you're right I think that
where we are individually and and therefore collectively to a very large degree is at a point where we want change and we're getting tired of waiting for someone else to do it and it's it it's been it's felt like looking within you know the current situation with how to change things and as opposed to like almost being willing to take a step separate from that but a lot of that stems from you know yourself and and the personal responsibility you have for you know your own life and and
being an expression of that more so but it does it feels so drastically different in the sense of something growing without you know set goals and and specific things that we're you know trying to guarantee in the future and like leaving space in between like where we're at and like a guarantee of a next step for there to be like novel new things to be almost like to fill that space a little bit because otherwise once as soon as a business is on a specific set Direction with
guarantees and sort of rigidity it's like it very much Narrows the potential to express you know whatever is being whatever is showing up in that moment kind of like I was talking about before a little bit and it's it's exciting to not really know exactly how it's going to turn out but being being able to see that it's going to be expressed it's going to be an expression of everyone involved not for a specific purpose or reason other than you know your own and
looking at you know your own experiences and and life and kind of like what you want to do if there wasn't so much of a a tether on things because you start to realize how many of the things that you you've done for a purpose you know for because it meant something about you as opposed to like what's left like oh there's a lot of space left when things don't mean so much about me there's a lot more space to do all sorts of exciting things that don't necessarily
mean anything or or I risk and it's not to say I don't risk being judged it's just myself my own response to two situations but it's uh it's certainly exciting to just not really know for sure how things are going to play out not trying to hold on to some idea of a should or a shouldn't it's like there really is a lot more space to just Express right and uh and uh Levi when you're were talking about how you were in a state of chasing like your career was all about chasing the next goal the
next promotion the next salary and and I think that was a reflection of how we were living life you know do you think that we were to some degree chasing control or chasing uh convenience and and in that it was just because we thought that not being responsible for ourselves was somehow possible and that if you could just control things and and things could just be conveniently always available then you wouldn't have to be paying attention but I don't think I don't think it's
worth it you know so I think to some degree we were we were thinking that we that we could avoid responsibility and somehow not conveniently Miss life in the same degree yeah I mean I think it was a lot about not wanting to take Cris or like I feel like the chasing was very much like it it wasn't I was I was trying to like I felt an extreme amount of lack in my life like I think that was like like one of the main things I I just there's always this feeling of not
feeling like you're enough and it's like but how do you fix that you get something that you think will fix like it's it was like it's really like the feeling kind of that whole with with the the career and and the apartment and the blah blah BL whatever it was you know it's like but that doesn't work you know and it's like when you you kind of reach that thing you you want enough times it's just yeah that's you got to start or yeah that's I guess when when it's kind
of uh changed a bit for me uh right because you changed your job and then you were a yoga teacher in India and or I don't know if you were in India when you when it hit you like I'm a yoga teacher living my quote unquote best life and yet it's not filling this this hole in the bucket and then you're like the bucket's not real yeah yeah yeah uh one thing I wanted to I guess talk about briefly because again I I think it it's common for people to get into listening to the podcast for
example and just fall under the impression as we do when we're chasing that this is something to be achieved that we're talking about some state of mind that you will reach that you will have an Insight that will change your whole life and while there's an ounce of truth to all of that I I would say that one thing I appreciate appreciate about how you express this is that you always tend to indicate that it goes in very small shifts that while there are transformative insights they
kind of happen over and over and over again you know and they change as you move forward and so I I just wanted to talk about the reality of of this quote unquote Journey that that we're all on and talking about in that it's not ever an end destination it's not an end result you're striving for but in that it's almost like you find yourself in the place you were trying to get to because you stopped trying to get to it uh how has that experience been for you because for me I
got to tell you like as you said earlier the pendulum swings and so for a long time it was either you know like I got this or I'm trying to get back to the place where I got this yeah I I think like once again another some pivotal moment was was the the first Retreat like in Vermont cuz then I kind of For the First Time experienced like it's okay like it's it's good just you know just be your you I understood what you meant by like be yourself like I I've never honestly like
never felt that way and it was just all the the weight was gone you know and and then you I came out in the world again like after this Retreat and felt amazing and then this happened like the pendum you know and then the Netherlands Retreat came and I was right back into it felt immediately like oh I oh this is it like a good reminder you know and it was out of the retreat and it was like oh [ __ ] you know it's it's like you you kind of feel it and then you lose it a
little bit and then it's like this chasing again and then yeah and then I don't know uh at some point like after the Virginia Retreat I I since then like it's not like I've come to like but it's just at some point it was just oh okay this is it's it's like I've just got a new relationship with my thoughts I think has been really because it's like it's just it's always like it's all right like even if you're thinking about these things you know what I mean it's like
even if I'm thinking about that experience or I'm not always feeling this light or whatever it's it's always all right like the only reason it's it's just the thoughts that are kind of it's just I I I I'm not able to express it but it's just a new relationship with these thoughts that are talking about getting back there or even talking about experience it's just it's just oh them again you know it's like it's just it's just a different experience so since
then honestly it's just been it's been a a fantastic um relaxing journey and I'm more and more just gone into things for no reason whatsoever and that's that's like that's the big chase because as you said Andrew like before it's like that's super scary at first like why are you doing that it's like but it's it's so fulfilling in a way and and that's because I'm not doing it for a reason and that's the funny thing right it's like I'm just doing it because that's interesting again it's
like it's kind of these things I'm just following because it seems interesting and I'm doing it because I can it's like you know and but you kind of need to have some space in the life to do it also I feel like if I had this job that I had back in the days with all the not the yoga job but like you know the buy job it's like it's hard to also jump but you can of course still jump on things it's just anyway uh I'm I don't know even where I started is but yeah it's
I appreciate that and and I I I'll just say quickly that I find it funny that often as we are I guess working on finding that space in ourself that's when we start making different decisions and we don't realize it but we're slowly distancing ourselves from those jobs where we can't have that space it's just that sometimes we realize like oh [ __ ] I need more space for myself oh I'm still in this job therefore I can't have it it's like no but your things are going
to start changing now because you started changing you started thinking differently you know all of a sudden you'll be looking at at different opportunities you'll be you know looking at your job and going I'm kind of tired of this [ __ ] where you didn't before because you were dedicated to it stuff like that I always find that kind of funny and how how much sometimes environments will shift along with us like not realizing you know going through pendulum swings and whatnot back
and forth almost feeling like all the reasons that you don't have faith in yourself for like other places or other situations or like you know with with the food thing and that whole segment I loved on the first episode of Levi with Levi shout out that was posted yesterday but like this sense that oh that's gonna that's gonna do it like that's gonna be something that I can do that helps me to feel feel better and like that can so much be the priority like feeling better
and maintaining a feeling of of feeling better that all of those pulls can feel like the the pendulum swinging to going back to yourself and then realizing other ways that you not like haven't had faith in yourself but just things that you thought you needed to be okay and you keep going through those things until it's like you're really just left with you and you're like oh it is just my response like my responsibility it's such a it's such a personal thing and
you know the way that you're seeing reality even is is so reflective of you know your own responses to things as as you go through but it's it's interesting to go into situations too without a reason necessarily like even that there can be like you know a why you know like even living like oh I'm I'm not thinking about myself as much because it goes both ways it's like acting and living to as you're thinking about yourself doing things you know for yourself for myself
it's like that's what circles those thoughts around you in a sense and so not doing so there's there's a side of me that's like oh you're not thinking about yourself so much like it's such a it's such a pull even like the you know oh letting yourself go someone starts gaining a little weight and someone will say oh you're really letting yourself go as if they got to keep it you I've I've heard that I I haven't said it ever but um it's like you have to maintain yourself under
under control and there's such a a narrowing of your experience such a rigidity and like so many walls to that that like without that Focus there's almost not a direction to necessarily specifically follow but it opens you up to like every opportunity like every experience that you go through like you can really see it and like be in it I found that I'm much more involved in situations versus doing it for a reason it's like yeah I got that hit of a Direction but there was still sort of
like a separation between myself and the experience which you know is going to be there of course but it's like what sort of spectrum is that on and like when it's for a reason that means something about me it feels like you know there be a big gap in myself and and between myself and my [Music] experience like how attentive I can be to it right how much ownership there is you know because it's very often that there are feelings in an experience and there doesn't need to be the attachment of I
am anxious it's like no there are anxious feelings happening right now but that's just what's happening it's not that they specifically came from me they're owned by me that they own me it's just that anxious insecure doubtful feelings are here and life is happening and it doesn't have to be that I'm making them happen or that I need to make them go away it's that they're just there and ultimately they're pointing out what the priority is and the priority is the
thought or the concept the priority isn't this moment because for some reason or another it's not enough you know this moment is not enough or we're not enough or a combination of this we and this moment is not enough um Levi I was thinking when you were saying like you know sometimes we don't need to have a structure and then you were saying sometimes Andrew like we don't need to have a reason do you think our most basic structures are reasons because sometimes I think structures have to be
like this really official thing that has like all these steps and some there's a committee who voted on it do you think that our most basic structure are reasons or or assumptions yeah I uh on first thought I think that that sounds sounds uh sounds right to me I mean it is the the assumptions especially when you said that that just makes a lot of sense to me that it is all these assumption that build who we are right as as a as a person and that is the structure we're
carrying around and kind of going rigidly through life and doing the things that the structure or the Assumption say we should be doing and all these things so I absolutely agree with that and yeah when you start to dismantle that a little bit is just what can you do like it's you can do anything and that and that is that was that's like and I think for a while I was like at the place where I felt like I can do anything then what am I going to do you know what I mean it was
like I had to figure out the one I had to figure it out I can do anything shall I do that was very stressful as well um but it's just there's there's nothing like there is you just keep moving you know it's yeah yeah that's it what what's next and that's the thing about potential is that you don't get to know what that means you just get to keep expressing it and that's why the future quote unquote is such an unknown like it's just more of the now that just keeps changing and if
you allow yourself to get into that experience and stop saying what that now can change into or can't change into then who knows what's possible and this is something that I'm very excited about you know because I I've been that that feeling that you had earlier in the episode where you're like I I don't even know how to express this feeling of Freedom like I'm not even sure how to put this into words what it is to not have to think about this narrative to actually just be fully
myself and authentic I'm not even sure how to communicate that that was me over half my life ago and and I actually remember laughingly not laughingly at the time I was quite serious um saying there's got to be like like a syntax there's got to be some way to get this across and I was kind of half right like yes and no both and neither kind of thing where it's like yeah if the other person wants to hear it right because then it's not about the having the right
words at all right but rather actually being receptive yourself being able to listen yourself and so I look forward to seeing how you continue to express this because I know on Discord the way that you've responded to people has changed over time right like you you are I don't want to say more certain but you definitely have more familiarity with what is not the point right like you you know where it's like no that's just me posturing you know or no I'm just trying to feel better and
that's often what you end up doing cuz not trying to get anywhere but that's the point how many ways are you still trying to get somewhere and so recognizing that the results is incredible and I never thought I would see people joining this conversation I never needed to have them I I did not need to have them join this conversation but now I see people starting to actually host these conversations like on their own and little groups or one-on-one conversations on Discord or off Zoom or
or you know it with people have actually met face to face in the community outside of anything that we know stuff like that you know it's just now you've joined us jazz is joining us you know who knows who else is going to join this and just adding their voice to trying to express whatever the [ __ ] it is that we're experiencing that's just so obviously transformative and yet not part of the common dialogue yeah yeah it's exciting to like be able to just Express whatever you are like kind
of untethered and like be willing and like how many how many people have that potential to do that it's it's cool to see and like yeah Levi I've always resonated a lot with everything you've shared and expressed and it's it's I've yeah just really appreciated your willingness yourself to go through you know everything in your own life because so much of this like with the groups and whatnot they're for myself too and I'm realizing more and more they're just a
place to to express how what we do in our lives not necessarily have some specific conversation but just like an open-ended spot where whatever is there for that hour or two is there for that hour or two and it's more about what you know what you bring yourself like what you're embody bodying than any like the words the expression like they're they're all rooted in in yourself and you know sometimes sometimes you're feeling super relaxed with things and sometimes you're
feeling feeling tense with things and it's kind of that sense of like you know being in being in an ocean like mentioned that a few times that it's not it's not this like one one to the next sometimes it's like side to side and not really really being able to know what the next what the next thing around the corner is is at least is like exciting and also kind of freeing it's like just because you know things have been a certain way for a while doesn't guarantee the next next thing around the
corner is going to be that and we never really know you know what role we're playing or what we're informing or what we're learning ourselves and so just almost being able to trust trust that in yourself like whatever which can be jarring to like really open up the you know show up as you are and just just jump in but uh but yeah just just knowing that that you don't know what's next or what's to come at least pushes you to keep your eyes open and keep paying attention yeah yeah absolutely to be
involved um before we wrap up today's episode because of course we have lots of stuff to talk about Levi we're going to have you back on the show real soon um I was hoping you might be able to tell us a little bit about Levi with Levi um I know that this is something you've just started you just recorded your very first episode um what can we expect and I know that's a funny question given the conversation that we're having um but more or less what are you hoping to do with it more or um
is it just a running Vlog a running conversation with yourself are you going to tackle [ __ ] that's bothering you from time to time are we going to hear when you stub your toe you know that kind of thing yeah uh no I have a really strict plan that uh is kind of going through yeah uh no you know I I don't know so basically I just started recording the other day uh the first episode and what came out was basically the things that I had been going through like the they before basically and and I
felt that was kind of um what what came out then uh so I I think that will for sure be one format I I don't know to be honest like what more it it can be or should be or anything like that so who knows like exactly what it will be but but but yeah it was it was an interesting experience to just really sit and and really kind of pour out on these subjects versus like kind of trying to say it very short which is kind of what I've usually been trying to do on Tik Tok and stuff like that so I
really enjoy that um so so yeah that's that's what it is right now at least and I think I'm going to do that for for at least the next episode as well just kind of uh yeah yeah well I for one I hope it actually stays in that format because I I think that that's really valuable I think self- dialogue is one of the things that I I used to recommend to all of my life coaching clients when I was doing life coaching like and and if people didn't know how to do that
without it becoming just another session and bitching I would say well Journal but at the end of your journal entry summarize like write what you've learned from this like bring it to a point where it becomes something that that's useful to you instead and so that self dialogue or or journaling which is just an excuse to self- dialogue can be so incredibly useful but I don't think well I know I didn't recognize it at the point where I was going through through that it's
useful to everyone because we're all going through self- dialogue all the time even when we think we're talking to other people we're really talking to ourselves and so I'm really looking forward to seeing where Levi with Levi goes and I encourage our listener check out these new series you know check out the yoga series check out Levi with Levi and then of course uh I was actually thinking it would be great and and this is just my request a as a human being with sore [ __ ]
hips uh maybe a small yoga routine for sore hips or if anybody in the comment section has another body part and or or problem that they would like to address maybe that would be something that Levi would be kind enough to record a short video and then we can make it available to our patreon supporters for a very short for a very small F yeah I'm I'm game for that filming one uh tomorrow morning so make it a semi hiip specific but I love Levi with Levi episode one it was it was a fun journey
to go on and like to to feel like very much kind of two topics you ended up touching on but there was like a seamless transition between them and it was like you expressed as you were going like early on oh you know feeling um what are like what to talk about it's like oh here's some here's some thoughts and then you just just to run with it and it's uh it's cool to be able to to do that and I guess that's kind of what we're doing all the time there's just a little bit more variation and and
uncertainty when it's with other people but at the same time as you expressed in that episode like even being willing to or realizing that you can surprise yourself and you're a little bit more relaxed like in something you you express or share like hm I've never actually thought about it that way after you've said it already so even just self dialogue when you're feeling more relaxed can can be just as exciting and uncertain as talking with someone else so yeah I'm excited I'm very excited for
uh for episode two for sure absolutely thank you so much Levi for joining us I'm excited to see Levi with Levi I haven't seen episode one yet but it is out and so I will look forward to checking it out and seeing a little more Levi or maybe a little less you know we'll see I love a little word play I see what you did there for sure um that said Levi of course you get the final word in this episode sir anything you'd like to say to our audience slash your audience or other
versions of you yeah I don't know it's like it's just don't listen to that inner critic I think if it's anything it's just it it will all it's like all the things I've been doing this last 6 months the inner dialogue thinks it's an idiotic idea but I'm having a great time it's like or that I'm not doing well in those situations and I shouldn't be there and I shouldn't share this and people would judge me and all those thoughts they just keep going it's just uh it doesn't matter it's uh yeah I
guess that's uh that's awesome don't do that says the brain to everything that makes life worth living oh ter H Levi it's been an absolute blast thank you dear listener for joining us uh do keep an eye out for Levi's new episodes and join us on Zoom if you'd like a chance to talk to the man yourself because he's often with us and if you can join us in Port Al Bernie happy to say that the port Al Bernie Retreat tickets are now available publicly on the website you can find it
