Episode description

Discover how Dr. Emily Kiberd helps women with Hashimoto’s build strength, boost energy, and lose weight through resistance training.

Dr. Emily Kiberd shares her personal journey with Hashimoto’s and explains why traditional approaches to exercise often leave women feeling exhausted instead of energized. She explores the role of resistance training, muscle preservation, protein intake, nervous system regulation, and recovery in supporting thyroid health. Dr. Kiberd also offers practical guidance on kettlebell training, workout programming, and building sustainable strength without triggering burnout.

Dr. Emily Kiberd has been a chiropractor and kettlebell enthusiast since 2007. She’s the creator of Thyroid Strong, an online strength program for women with Hashimoto’s to learn how to work out without burnout. She was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in 2016 after the birth of her son. She put it into remission with a lifestyle change, uncovering environmental triggers, and changing how she was eating and working out. She stayed in remission with Hashimoto’s through her second pregnancy in 2019 and helps women around the world beat fatigue and feel like themselves again with her Thyroid Strong program. She has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Women’s Health, Self, and Vice magazines for her expertise in movement and injury prevention.
