Episode description

Dr. Miles Nichols reveals how hidden infections, B12 antibodies, and chronic inflammation drive thyroid fatigue—and how to address root causes.

Dr. Miles Nichols shares his personal journey through chronic fatigue and subclinical thyroid dysfunction, explaining how hidden infections, stomach autoimmunity, B12 issues, mold exposure, and cumulative stress load can drive thyroid symptoms. He breaks down molecular mimicry, autoimmune triggers, and practical resilience-building strategies—from foundational lifestyle habits to advanced functional testing.

Dr. Miles Nichols is a functional medicine doctor specializing in Lyme, mold illness, gut, thyroid, and autoimmunity. After Dr. Miles personally struggled with chronic fatigue in his early 20’s, Dr. Miles dedicated himself to figuring out the root causes. He suffered from and recovered from thyroid dysfunction, autoimmunity, a gut infection, Lyme co-infections, and mold illness.

Dr. Miles has authored two books. He founded the Medicine with Heart functional medicine clinic in Colorado, as well as the Medicine with Heart Institute that trains other doctors in functional medicine. Dr. Miles has been a featured speaker at national conferences, professional associations, podcasts, and summits.
