I remember when I was four or five, standing on our sun deck where my father is. A massive tornado cut through our town. I watched this awesome force peel the roof of a building directly across the street from us. Off like the top, like, just like a banana. It's crazy. We're lucky that day. The brunt of it missed us entirely. Others weren't so lucky. As a wide eyed child, it was easy to be grateful. That day I was alive.

Sometimes it is really easy to be grateful in the storm, more often it is not. Loss of a job, loss of a friend or loved one, coming up short on a goal, wondering where the money will come from.
