This is not only my brother, it's not only a person a new for twenty years, Kevi real Me and him never changed, always see each other, always smile, always proud of each other. But not only
that top five producer all times, all times. I'm talking about from the and I'm talking about from the beginning of the hip hop to right now maybe top three. Damn. He's been here, he's been He's made albums, he's made artists, He's took artists from people he's an ex to all over the world. With the sound that he made, he continuously changed the sound of music, change the sound of music with me when he made a record for me and we're gonna get into that later and people started
following our sound. This man has kept continuing going from the highest up. He's worked with him all tonight. We have my brother, my good friend, top five maybe top three, best producer of all times music mogul, beautiful life, beautiful wife, beautiful children. Think he should. You should look at his Instagram and it's fire to be that good with your kids. This is a fact. Make some noise for my brother, two or three time drinks champions, DJ Friends Beach that
I understand. Listen. So yeah, we keep a real hip hop over here. So as you know, we salute, we salute our legends. We give all people they flowers when they can smell them, and they treats when they can help them. This is a show that we celebrate all legends. You know, so many people, uh that was me. So many people are busy, busy. You know, once you get ten years in this game, people say this over for you and things like that. That's not what we do here.
It's I just wanted to explain that. But I want to let you know that tonight we are celebrating the legacy of Swiss motherfucking I want to take it from the beginning. I want to take it the beginning, very early on, because I believe the first time the um what what was it? Rough rider anthem? Was that the first time? What was the first time people heard? The first time I think was this group called the Reefs, right, and and the Reefs was signed Who's they signed to?
They were signed to? Um? What's our brother? That that that manages um? He managed usua um big big, big exact. I'm forgetting his name. Brother that had the stroke? Oh Stewart, okay, um, he's gonna kill me for that. I'm you gotta excuse me. I'm straight. I'm from Shanghai, buy Texas. Mark what's Mark um um Um? Yeah? Mark Pitts legendary and Mark Pitts had stopped drop beat before everybody for about three thousand.
She wanted to get it to fifteen. I was like, I'm cool, Thank god as I said that, but get I did the Reefs and then I did flip most squad um run for cover, and then I met this fly dude, Yeah you go, that's right, And then it was we we we we we we uh disrespected a couple of things and was banned from TV. And then at that same time Cameron Glory with my brother and um Tara Rufo came after that, and then my rough Rider family all that before. That's always thought rough Rider
anthem came out first. So you was on before that, I was earlier. This this is this is pun sleeping on the couch already telling you. So now your uncle is actually because people people don't understand that that's your real uncle. Like people think when you say uncle, they think that you're saying like uncle, like who raised you, but not really, this is your mother's brother, correct, my father's brother, your father's brother, and he is dun yeah,
tatting on my mom is real life, for real. And one thing that people don't understand it probably in two thousand seventeen, is you know, rough Riders was in the streets before music, you know, from the bikes two three hundred thousand bikers street respected, you know before a lot of different names with logos and letters in front of them. You know, my family was literally in the streets movement, and it was my grandfather that was running Hollom at
that time, building up the buildings. You know, um imam at that time running the fo I at that time, and you know, the movement that we had on was was was going against what my grandfather movement was. And so he made us make a choice. You're gonna do that if you're going to do the street vibe and and take away from the positivity that I'm putting in the community, I gotta leave or you're gonna have a
problem with us. And those are the triple rolls, right And so um my uncle Juan, you know, he uh had this artist that he was talking about, d MX, Hollom Nights, a couple of artists and then we just you know, changed the whole direction into a positive way. Still keep the street now. DMX was like the first artist that rough Rider signed, correct, Yes, um, I mean that got signed to a major label. Yeah, and before the Locks Yeah they were no no, no, no, was
it locks first first? Yeah? It was. It was first with rough Riders. Lux has been X has been first, Blocks was X pops. You understand That's how I said it on here too. Yeah, that's that's that's that's how that went. But I can't say that was concurrent. I can't say that my uncle Y had them in the studio at the same time. You know, I remember hearing more songs from the locks Uh studio done than X. X was more mixtape vibe at that particular time, and
I love both of them. Remember, I wish I can get those beginning mixtapes that I heard from them, because it's just it was is there was in a very authentic space at that time. Is so authentic and X being like he's like, there's never be another X. But what I'm asking you is, did you know that from the beginning, Yes, I did from the beginning, like even before like he met with Leo with the box calling right there, who got the phone? Yeah, I got your
killing that on Instagram. But so from the beginning, you knew this guy would change hip hop. And let me tell you how much I knew that. I knew it so much that I got kicked out of New York schools um and I had to move to Atlanta. I had that written down by the way kick out of school. And you know after that, I passed all the different things I wasn't used to, the gang activity and all those different things. I eventually landed back on my all my music right, and the way that I survived and
that music. Ring was reciting X verses that nobody never knew about. X was out of the time, or he wasn't out, he wasn't out, But I just knew so much of his lyrics that I was living through him even in high school. And people were like, damn like, and I'm like, ship ain't they ain't gonna never know who excellent? So let me do my thing a little bit, I know. And I just he was really living in
that street. That's why you said that, no, because I just never thought that we would ever be uh as far as we got, you know, I never I never knew that we can get out that backyard that we was in. I never knew that we can get out that box that we was in, that mentality that that we was in. So I was just having fun and kind of paying homage to X and and freestyling because I'm like, he's not here to say it. It's so I'm gonna say it right. And to this day, that's
my dog. And I got a lot of great news from him this year. His album is Crazy and and and and I promise you it's going to it's going to change the game. And I don't say that like you know what I'm saying, like I downplay everything. But I'm gonna tell you, like what Dog got to say on this is it's going to go from the streets to the Grammys and Charlotte. Like that's you know, because like I go home perfect time right now. I go home. I go home to a very comfortable lifestyle that I
worked hard for, slept on studio floors, everything. And to see my brother that I started with not be where he should be. It fucks with me every night. So I didn't use all the excuses that I could have used not to know. We heard Room was a rock nation at first, but now we're hearing epic, epic, epic things are going on. I mean with the dog is he's epic, He's an epic energy, he's an epic vibe, he's an epic inspiration. There's none before, none to come after.
And we got to protect that by any means necessary. And but I think the most important part is a relationship with two brothers. It's like like the music, the music, the music comes later. You know the fact that you can reach and pull your brother up with you, and and and walk. That same walk to me is more than the money, more than a deal, more than music, Like I funk with X right now because he's spiritually
and mentally ready. He's always been lyrically ready. If you're not spiritually and mentally ready to go out to the world, and it's a waste, it's a waste of time. Everybody can want the return of him, but he got to want to return for himself. But it's like, it's like you're just saying because like everybody, you know, we see you on the Graham and we have about luxurious life, like you don't really have have to do a DMX album.
So what really drives you? I think I do. I think I do that because like money doesn't define you or your lifestyle. It's like you know, when when you go back and you look at the things that really makes sense. It's brotherhood. You know. I know a lot of rich billionaires and I call him poor kings. They got big boats, hookers on them, no family, no nothing. Is that really living life happy at all? They're not happy. I don't care about your money. Like I never even
did music for money. I did music for a feeling, for an expression, for an outlet that I couldn't express in an academic way. You know that I figured out how to do in a creative way, you know, and and I never and and I understood. I'm like, wow, you know, this kid that's being quiet in class is smarter than all of us. You understanding. We just gotta give that person a chance to identify that. You know, X has a long history of a lot of different things that a lot of people are gonna understand in
this album. And you understand, like why he's who he is. There's a reason from that, from birth, from the way he was treated, from the way he was handled, from the way he was delivered. That's the reason why X sing like the way he is. It's not because he's just uh portray in a certain style. People like to say, Yo, EX is the closest thing to Pope. I said, X
is the closest thing to nobody. Nobody. Yeah, because many million in the bank, right and then abandoned billings with with with candles where we had to find out gave his money away. He didn't blow his money. He gave his money away to homeless people. I see this man take shoes off his feet, sit down like this and people in this room singing this. Out of this man, I can't leave that stranded. Now, let's make some noise to that guy there. Party shot time. Are we ready
for that? You know, put Paul some ice in my check because you don't need arts, man, you need mccardi. As the new year is people, let me tell you something about the mccardi eight in three and three. You know, I gotta I gotta activation called no commissions and no commissions for the artists, for the artists. People. We give a hundred percent back to the artists of what they said. And let me give you a number. In the last three shows, we gave back to the artists three million dollars.
So that's why we're gonna take this RICCARDI shot, you understand for giving back to the artists and the people in their pocket chairs to that. Let's black gonna lie shout to ko. It tastes like Puerto Rico. Remember Puerto Rico, Cuba. Remember we come on man. I told him every party, you wouldn't believe me when we first met. I believe you.
I've been believing you. I can't I can't believe that I'm sending in front of my brother and at this table, all this fucking shows me and mom wata here we celebrate hip hop man And one of the craziest beasts of all time to me was Jigga, what's my mother? I can't curse on this show. Whatever you're going to I'm like, you know, but listen. When I heard that, I want to say, I thought you played it for me once and it said Nori. But I'm bugging right,
I'm bugging but in my mind drunk face. But yo, dad, do you remember Calfe? Calfe? I remember the first like it came out. Flex had dropped it. Boom right, Flex had it, and this is this is this time if flex player record with New York City should go back to what flex player record that right now? But let me just say something. He played it. We ain't never heard it. Flex played it, and it was like the
whole cit knew the record already, didn't dropped it. At seven o'clock we went to the club everywhere like, yeah, we knew little you know what I'm saying the hook, I have no idea. I never record close. But the regular original record was Jada what it wasn't he ja? And he didn't want it. He didn't want it. It came out and we got into some words. Shout out to Jada, Yo, did you have to drop a verse on Yeah? I feel like you want to finish that stay.
He didn't drop a verse on that. But you know what, that's what I shout out to Jada for giving back those clothes to the homeless. When I get back to New York, they're gonna give out like and even everybody and that all this stuff that you got in your closet, pull up the truck. Like, I shout to Jada for that initiatives for that. Jada had Jigga first. That's what it was. I think you played me, Jada. I think
that's what it was. And you know most of my records, damn, most of my records, when they come out, they're not who they were for, right, Like bringing him out was when Beanie Ce who got out of jail. Oh right, make sense, you know what I'm saying. Sense? But touch it was for Eve I know. I heard Buster told me that story. He doesn't touch it was for Eve
Dn Max didn't like stop dry, you know what I'm saying. Like, so, you know, none of my records really went to the people that But do you know the impact of that, what it did to the city. Yeah, because that was like that was it. It was like Swiss is it if you ain't got a Swiss beat? Like for real? Like it was like at that moment, and I trust me, I want to claim it because I worked through them
earlier time. You know what I'm saying, I want to come but I remember that record was just saying like Nori discovered me in the Neptune, not just playing around we under state right, thank you Swiss say that like I was, I was producing other people, but Nor was spreading the word about who I was in a way I never I never, I've never seen an artist at his level doing that for me. He was the first artist that people came back like, yo, Nor, he said, we should be in the studio with you know who
we're doing. I'm like, he was like, let me just tell you something about that now, let me let me just go back to bagging him because he was like eighteen seventeen. Because I'm thirty nine seventeen, I'm thirty eight, okay, so yeah, so I don't even know that close. Yeah, yeah, I'm thirty nine yea. I looked and it was like, you know, you know, but everybody thought I was older anyway.
So this Nika paid me nothing. Now we're gonna get in the band from TV for nothing but fire like and I'm talking about that's you know, I'm I'm gonna get into a story. It's gonna sound crazy, but I developed what what? Because think about NA style at that time. He was cool. Think about Prodigy style at the time. He was cool, Havoc Stile cool, cap Home, my own partner. They were cool. And I was like, I'm not really cool, Like I mean, I'm cool, but I'm not like I'm
like a hyper guy. Makes sense, I'm developed what what? So I needed somebody to compliment that with the energy, So I went there. We don't know. Bad from TV was original record. It was supposed to be me and Nature, remember and Nature? I mean I had later verse and Nature couldn't get with the with the he had like wrote to some other song and he couldn't write the verse. So is he on it? No? No, No, he's what I'm saying. This is the It wasn't Bad from TV?
Was someone? Then? Yeah, this is unless you're lady. This is all you and then like the last hour, I was like, yo, Nate, I can't just stay here. He was like, let me try another beat and he was doing band from TV. And from that moment on, I never seen a person writ over so fast. Nature wrote that ship, didn't he droped him off? That ship was electric Like I'm like, and I hunt you murder. I was mad at all of them because they didn't even let the beat play. It was they to the introd like,
what the bad TV? The beach I heard from Bad from TV is just the intro. I'm not gonna let the beat play like this is it right? I just got looped and then the intro got loop that's bad from TV. It was a beat that came after that. Why you understand? Like I never understand. I hurt my heart. Let me tell you how I remember it? Right. That's
funny because I figured let me finish. I had already labor the verse for Nature on a different Swiss beat, so I had called Pun just to hang out, like he'll come hang out because I never asked to get it on prorectly, by the way, but we'll get to that, right, So I just called him just to hang out. What's up. I an't know, so I called him just to hang out.
So when Nature came around to the beat, we Swiss wish it later wrote to it real fast punished in the coup the lounge, She's like, I'm going to use your bath the lounge and on the couch with an oozing next. Yeah, there's that ned beginning. That's why they too lazy first. So this Nature for his lads Verse pun winning and snuck in and not the spartest guy in the world. He just kept looking at me when the race that I'm like, I'm not called that's some
pieces of punny body that thing and who's next? Pun Cam Cam didn't call that? Style? No cam did come that night. I got Ja Styles, Jayda Style. Yeah, he came then and I got The only people I didn't get was a Um, Jada and Style. I play that song again. That that that that was so do you remember what that record did to the tunnel? It was it was dangerous, like you know, you know I had a raising in the mouth game order protection from you from the tunnel because of the band from TV. Seriously,
now he was protection. You got order of protection. The tunnel took an order of protection. No, you don't understand. That's how crazy it was. Blown that raising game was man from TV hit I was, I was. I was with the Bronx at that time. And then and it was dancing. You know, it was dancing and listen pun
me and whoa, whoa, that's fun. Like now, what was the closest memories of pluning just being on that couch and Sony Studio was an actual Lady Electric Lady Mine's last one was it was in Sony Studios in the East studio where it was because I remember he was the only person I would let use it because it was easy to get to. You own Sony studio at one time. That was that they built me a room like you know they it was good. You had the room under the ground. That was room. That was the room.
That was That was the jake good. That was Swiss kidnap. You won't do it. When you came down stairs, I cast stairs. I put the voodoo on you. You walk in. Stephen said, you had the dest on you coming that the room. I was telling you the track. So I was charging you crazy money and you get happy with a crazy head. That was Attraction three. That wasn't the track. I just want to tell you, man, I'm just so proud of you. I've seen you from the beginning. I
see now. This is a question I wanted to ask you because, like you said, your uncle's was these guys, it's in the streets, they started this music business. How was your first approach coming to them and saying, you know what I want to I'm gonna produce. So well it did. I didn't come to them. They came to me because they was doing something they wanted. They were doing something positive and they knew I was doing music,
and it was like, yo. My aunt was like, your uncles are starting this positive movement called rough Riders, and you should come up for the summer and and be a part of it. And I went up that summer and never went back to act and I went back to Atlanta. From that point before it was a record like music movement. This is now. This this is when it was becoming a label. And my aunt Chavan was like, yo, you know you're the only one in the family taking
music serious. You should come up for the summer and see what it is about. I went up for that summer that as a rose over. I'm still I'm to I'm still I'm still moving off that plane ticket from New York from to New York right now, you know what I'm saying. Like, you know, like at the end of the day, we all got opportunities, we all got chances, we all got chances, we all got opportunities. It's what
we do with it. You understand, like we could take opportunities for granted, or we can understand that it's a once in a lifetime chance to be great. Are you willing to take that chance? Are you willing to go that far? I was sleeping on floors. I have bruises on my face, my shoulders, my elbows because I was down hungry to get to where I'm at today. And I still work like I have nothing today. You know, it's still like I've been at meetings since nine am, which is the reason why I got my shades on
and another business. I'm in Harvard Business School right now, accelerating my craft and accelrating, you know, my mental capacity because you know this, this all came to me early. You know, I didn't know what I was doing back then. So I'm like, I'm just starting now because i know what I'm doing now, So I gave y'all three and fifty million records. So we're for not knowing what I'm doing, what you imagine when I'm ready to do right now?
And I tell people like sky is not the limits of just a view, and you know, the thing is like the hood. We always want excuses of like why are we not in position? They got me like this, they got me like that, and they want me like this. Don't like man, figure it out. That same person complaining about something didn't look for a job that day, didn't pick up a book that day, didn't look for no inspiration that day. They want to sit on that stew
like the pot of goal on falling their lap. And I'm not messing with none of those type of people. Anybody that's around me. They better have vision, they better have a goal. And it's not just to lean on me because I'm not. I'm not. We're not doing I'm a grown ass man. You're grown man, You're healthy, Get out there and feed your family on your own. I
also see you a Cassidy, y'all, y'all back together. That is dope that well, you know, I put Cassidy on punishment for a little bit because you know, I come from a place where this protocol and you know, there's consequences and there's different things that you know, uh, you can fly and can't fly. You know, I don't act tough in this music thing. I never came off as a threat, um, but but we could be a serious problem. You understand. I'm in here with you. I'm in here
with my Bocardi family. Likely you know what I'm saying. Like, I'm not in here with a bunch of goons, a bunch of nothing. Like. I'm comfortable on my skin, and I come with great energy. I come with positive intentions. I don't come in here to fund on nobody's stunning on nobody. I'm gonna here dressed just like everybody in here, because like you know what we all hat, we respect that thing. I caught the Haitian hat right little, right now, a little, I say, you know what I'm saying, shout
out to my Haitian crowd. Went out there to Haiti. You know, I did a great initiative there. I did the biggest event there for free for the people. Three hundred thousand people showed up, and I noticed didn't make the news, but there wasn't one stabbing, one shooting, one fight, all up and I just hate that that didn't make the news. One person was a drink chance. Yeah about say, yeah, I'm not gonna lie straight. It's good man, a cold shot guy. Okay, let's get some ship. Okay, let's get
somebod it's on his business day. That is good. Hit me later, you know. But like for me, one thing about Baccarti is like, you know, running all three hundred brands in the company as the global creative director, I'm not paying nobody to hold up no bottles. I don't even like that fire culture. You know, no disrespect to no other brand. Everybody got to do it how they do it. But one thing that we're doing at Baccarti is we're investing directly into the people, buy the artists,
for the artists, with the people. You know. The fact that we can say in three shows we gave back three million dollars. That's like, that's for real papers difference, Like let's make a difference paper, the fact that we're interacting. And but like you know, this is an educational platform as well, and I never thought that, excuse me, the creatives and a brand can mixed together. Because they're two
selfish things. The artists want to be selfish on that side and the brand want to be selfish on that side. But the thing that we created with my partnership with Riccardia is equal agenda of just doing great things and this artists bass so like like this, like I mean like paintings, like the things like that, and No Commission is global. You know we just last year London, Yeah, yeah, we got Berlin this year due by you know, we're going to l A. You know, we're coming back to Miami.
You know, we're looking at Shanghai. You know this this is this is a global tribute to let me ask you something, right, if I want to buy art there we go, how do how do I go about buying art? Call that your brother? Like but I'm just saying to like the people, not not me per se, but but me per se. But not now, but like like like let's bo dude wants to invest into some art. What what should he look for? What he's doing first? And almost you know a lot of people think that art
is just for rich people. And that's why No Commissions is great because we created the entry point. You know, there was people that I was able to come to no commissions and get things for a couple of hundred dollars a couple of thousands, or a couple of hundred thousands. You understanding, so that you know, we created the entry point, so you know the miscommunication with artists. How am I part of that? If I go in the gallery and
everything is twenty thousand, but I got four thousand. So being that I don't got that twenty thousand, you don't want to talk to me. I can't be a part of this. I don't like that story. So we created a new story to where you could be living with your mother and participating no commissions. You can be on your way up and just trying to figure it out and participate. You can be the biggest of the biggest
and participate. And the key thing is the entry point for the millennials because art is something that saved people lives. Art is a different type of communication. You understand, Like everybody can't communicate on an academic level, but you might have that person right there that can paint something so amazing, that can be a videographer, a photographer, you know, and
just create. Some of them bring something extra to the world and that's the platform that I built that made me very dangerous to the art business and the galleries and different things like that. Because I created the entry point, I took away the stigmatism of So you're saying, because I remember Kanye because sort of saying like, but he was trying to um, you know, migrate from being like just the artist to like to this colden field. Like
he felt like he wasn't being respected. You're saying, that's the opposite with you when you go into the art field, because you're just basically given. You know, when you look at art and artists. We come from a industry called music art, which is art, and we just bring it down to the basic levels. When everybody deal with us, no out of how good the deal seems, there's always somebody hand in our pockets. Left right backside, there's a hand in our pockets. So we might feel that we
have the freedom. You know, in Harvard, the professor said, the illness I was like, I couldn't believe that the way would being down the way that are the industry is being dealt with. They was actually taught to do that, the professor said, if you want them to work harder, make them feel like they owned something. I was like, hmmm. He said, example, you know you have two dollars, give him one dollar. But you know you've got two dollars in your budget. Give him one dollar first, he only
one dollar. Do your job. Let him work for a week. After that week, you walk up to him. He's walking in the yard or wherever he's walking. You walk up and say, man, and do on a great job. He goes another dollar what he already owned. I was supposed to be giving down the second dollar was in the budget. But what are you going to do after the boss tell you you was on your a game? Hey, going another dollar? What's harder? You're gonna be like, Oh, I'm on my grind, I'm on my I'm ready to go.
The boss came up to me, he told me, I M might running this company, So you're gonna go harder just because the way that was done. And I was like, damn, that sounds like the label deal. Give them a label, bringing the artists cheaper, make them feel like they own something, because if you own something, you're gonna say, I got this artist here, but he can't charge me too much because I'm a partner in this and this is my label. But are you a partner? Do you have veto rights?
Are you on the board meetings? Are you really a part of this industry? No? The funk out of here? Those are faith? Those are those are facts? Smoking mirrors? Nick, tell me a person that had a label did have been to a major label board meeting? Nothing a board meeting. Then we're talking about ownership. When you're talking about that, are you saying like the rocket Fellers that those type of the talking about everybody imprint deals. I'm talking about everybody.
I'm talking about. You know, if you were a universal all you had the board meeting out of a VINDI with the distributors, the board meetings today, the board meeting and people that that's who' agree with this, say, I are you a part of those meetings. I'm a part of those meetings now, so I know how they go. But if we're not a part of those meetings and the ownership doesn't mean anything, it's a smoking mirror. Make them feel like they owned something in their work. Harder
you understand. I don't why why no musicians have their own yachts or they own seven fifty sevens. And then you look at other industries of people that's doing five of the work that they're doing, because this business is not set up for artists to win. So you have to understand when it's your time to get off the titty and go live your own dream. Like we want to be pacified and want to be rewarded at the same time, it doesn't work like that. I retired from
music when I made Onto the Next One. I wrote that song as my retirement song, which was my last Grammy, because I was mentally onto the next platform were the easier, goddamn it continue? And I just think that we got to be mentally ready to make any step that we feel as life changing to ourselves without I don't care about the fair I don't care about the politics because like, look, man, life was full of politics. Look who our president is. Look what we're dealing with right now. But the truth
of the matter is left. Actually we had to deal with someone with every president since Reagan, like since Reaganamics like this ain't nothing new. This ain't nothing but the recycling of of the system. But how you treat your own system mentally and spiritually is on you. We prepare for any war, That's why we still around even talk about this ship we've been was supposed to be going.
Everybody in this room, I understand you think. You think the digital age the level of the playing field as far as you're talking about that just didn't general just artists, the labels and just straight to to consumer. Well, Um, the reason why I like the digital aspect of of of where we at today is because it gives the independent life life and before we was trapped into one way or nothing. You know, now if you really got your hustle on, like my brother and you guys here,
you can go viral and start something. I can imagine if this forum that we're on right now didn't exist. Let me kind of stop you for one second because I understand exactly where you're going. But if you're older artists, I'm with, just music does the streaming level to playing field? Because just think about it, Like, when you're a new artist, you can you can you can drop a record and
not pay for radio, not pay for nothing. And the new artist buzz is going to get people to play a record because they don't want to be late on the new ship. But when your artists have been around for fifteen twenty years and you drop something, you might not get the same you know what I'm saying. So does streaming, like on the radio, what I'm saying, to the streaming level the playing field or does it flatline it?
You know that depends on the artists straight up. You understand a lot of artists and not real with themselves. You understand they're gonna put something out that's just not that time to put what they're putting out. So the results that they're getting out is what it is. I don't care who you are, where are you from. You got a hot show that's popping. It's on right decisions. If you artists, no matter who you are, if you've got that record and you've got that right direction, you
don't have to do no work. But his song requires no work. It goes ordentically, and the people feel that, and that resurgence of that spreads. But if you're disgrunted and jealous and living in a time that we know you're not in, and you're not gauging your views and and your vibes are right, and you don't get the results you want, who fault is that yours? Not the people, because the people just want to have fun they're not even caring who's saying what and what it could be.
Whoever rested right now as long as who saying both could put out a song with the right dancing, the right beat and it could go that's all. So nobody had an ease sign of drink champion in the case
you're thinking about that, you know that. I think. I think also the definition of a hit record is changing because there's there's artists that you will never you might not even know they have successful careers because they're going to direct the consumer because right now, like right you know you've worked with the greats eminem jay z, dmx Nory, I can't. I can't even like Kanye Kanye, you know so, And now a new guy comes on your beat, boys the way that that was or that my own stuff.
But now guy, you know, somebody calls you your beat. He like it was a bit of that aversion. But he's killing it. But you you don't even know what he's said. How the funk is he killing him? You can't understand what he's killing, what this thing is out there that's killing it. I don't understand what they're saying, But to me, they're still killing saying I dig something
up away. I gotta tell you something. I gotta when you hear my record those people you're talking about, watch how I checked their passports at the dark and and it was a breath of fresh air because I witnessed that people are doing what they're doing because of a fad. I'm like, you're hiding all of this talent because you think that's what they want to hear. I couldn't when you hear these verses clearly that you're gonna hear, I
was like, Bro, do you mean you couldn't. This is the whole time you're going there's really talented people in that space of what we feel that's not talent. I've witnessed it, and you're gonna witness it too very soon. You don't be like that's who, Yeah, that's him, and that's who, Yeah, that's him too. Because I just wanted to challenge people to do something different, because when they're
applying their life is great. But the challenge that I'm I want to challenge them to apply just an atmosphere is differently. I don't want what you have already. I did you to do this, And when I dared them to do that hunting points on the boards. You know how long? You know how much time I spent in Jamaica. I just feel like, you know how much. I just don't need it, Like I got five kids, Bro, when I drink that because we're celebrating you tonight, tonight, got
twenty years work. We're head come on when you do the what the fucker? Yeah? I always we got to deal with Tiger on what we've done because we go to check our own joint is they do listen to what we do. It's because you know what, I know, I got to change McCarty. Right now, we're gonna dance act and that's not competition, and no one, no it's not. It's not. It's not. It's nobody's calling. But I know it's you'd be tig of bone in this thing out in here because it's a beautiful thing. How because a
level spell back was this level. You gotta balance. It's we're kind of here, you go, Bud, where's the blog check? I gotta bring the Google. I'm gonna take that pick up the veggie. I always say my jacket for the dance's hot gets hot if you ain't get the locks out and get the locks out right now? Yeah? Yeah, the locks out? Fine? Hold on, I mean Jada kiss, shoot, uncousine ahead, don't locks another locks that coming? But because I heard when you said the Lost album came out
on rock Nation, you was cool with it. You just didn't want to let your copy. You just didn't want to see them throwing up the rocks side. I got a lot of trouble for that. Why what happened? You know? I was? I was no, no, no, I was, honestly, with all due respects, I was. I was wrong. I was wrong for saying that um on a national broadcast about my about my brother's and why would you say that? No? I was, I was a little I was talking a little reckless. But where did I was on Shade for five?
From Shade for Let's toast coming into Yeah, take off your glasses for that. I don't know just what happened to the eight because god damn, let I didn't I got I got a perfect in Miami tast with I don't know if I like your in Miami and you look good, bro yo. He went to Candle remember the video shoot you can't office and Candle my studio first? What was it? What was it set it up? Set it up up? Yeah? But when Nori hit this new thing I made for him, Paul who I'm talking about?
Goddamn still so so yeah, I got in trouble. Huh style speak called me because you know he's the savage of the group. Don't never talk her name like that. Wait when you said damn, why would you like yo yo up? In my mind he was up there like I don't know why. I felt like I just violated myself. I'm sorry, continued Swiss stud Belder. Because I was as a man, I can admit when I'm wrong, and out of twenty some years with the locks, it was the first time I was wrong. I was. I spoke about
I spoke about the incident on Shape four five. I spoke about what I spoke about, how I felt about kissed on up the rock sign and why you saw kiss old the rocket sign. Oh, I never knew that. I've seen him throw it up. It's this, it's public information.
And the reason and the reason why I had a problem with it was because you know, I was around for I was around for everything, and I knew that how hard it was to fight for it who we had, and I knew that my great friend Jay would never thought a rough right of sign of no matter what deal he would ever do, because early on, just because like you know, you know, um Mom was in them
put a lot of time into changing people's lives. They put a lot of times and the changing people's lives, and they put their lives on the line for changing people's lives. So naturally, I'm gonna be emotional when I see something that's other than where it all comes from, naturally. So naturally how overreacted when the question was brought up to me? I was like, what was the question? Acts
of here? Where you think about the locks with um with Rocket Feller, And I said, I think that it's a great deal, which I do because they work hard to even have this this type of outlet, and then like they doing, what's up? Mr Lee, You've got no control. That's not even Mr Lee, that's Mr Chi. Yeah, you
know what I'm saying. But if they go to their masters, because from what I hear, they go, they worked hard to even be able to put out that type of album in two thousands sixteen slash seventeen, And I was I was wrong for expressing that on that public outlet. Even though I called a couple of group members a couple of times. If I couldn't reach them, I should have dead it it. But I was a little nice, like I am. Now we got through. We ain't but I'm the most honest one. I'm nice, which this is
what it is. And TV told me you have wall paint from your face when you try to get averse from you, because I don't really be on that other ship already. You know, I'm not scared to express it. I'm into the art life, so sometimes I paint my face and sometimes it's those shades on. Just be on my cool league. You know, we see that had I got on SAP, I said, because you worked it out. But of course we worked it out because you know, at the end of the day, the styles had every
right to call me and be on that vibe. And I listened to him. I was in in the airport in Shanghai and he texts me the file's message them. I was laughing, they're not making a joke because it's something serious. And I listened to what he said. He had good points. And as a man, anybody watching this, as a man, if you're in the wrong, you gotta take that charge. Take that charge, apologize I was wrong. I won't do that again. My bad. You know a lot of the egos to kill him. A lot of
people let the ego mislead them in life. I know that I could never go to war with the Locks, even though their first name was the Warlocks. Right, those those are my brothers. We're never going to have a confrontation for the industry to sit. I can watch your legacy that we worked hard for burn because of some small time things. We really was in these streets for real, I love nothing. We are the streets was the first put my life. It just turned seventeen. I know, Yeah,
let's mix Loyd for goddamn birthday. You got to put your head for He violated me, don't you It was It was seven seconds later I said, that's like, you know what, I'm so used to it shot to styles pe jaded kiss she Luciano, I love you. That's never gonna have no problems never, and some of the realistudes we had on Drink Champs as well. Welcome to Play, a new podcast network featuring radio and TV personalities talking business, sports, tech, entertainment,
and more. Play It at Play dot it. We're back to drink Champs Radio with rapper and R and d J. Then ask some real questions. Let's get into some real like the question. Whatever we want to do. Let's go on. Man, I'm here to make the ratings go up. I'm gonna they talk. So when you and Kanye West battle on stage so much, Jam, I love that moment. It described that moment, was that put together? What was that like?
Spirit a moment you and Kanye. This is the craziest nigger in life, in in his life, but this before he got crazy. He was like saying, at this time, I respect Kanye for taking that battle because you know, um, a lot of producers I asked turned down that Tom Tom. So you're saying this was your whole idea. Yeah, in New York City, I was leading Summer Jam. Of course we orchestrated this. Never do this. I've never knew this been you've been, You've asked people to do this before
time is running out because we don't have time. We just started. We just we just got so I'm gonna make this go. No that shout ABLECARDI Now I got my cup right here. This iscarty eight great right here too, let's do shots. I don't do like Drenking let us man, what does that leave bro like? I mean, all right,
that Carty is double enough? So okay, So you had this idea for a producer, you know, because when I look at Summer Jam, I noticed that a lot of the performing artists musically got to shine, and the producers was always behind those big hit records. That these artists was able to go on stage and do their thing too. So I said, you know what, let's play how muche to the producers and Summer Jam is is it's very controversial.
So I said, you know what, Let's make it a battle where I'm talking ship and then whoever come out and challenged me to me talking ship with their greatest couple of hits? And I give him my greatest couple of hits. And we gave the people a show that was respectable and and and they paid how much to producing? Everybody turned down the request except for Kanye, And I give him no names that you could say to turn it down. Who else would you name him? The premier
turn down. I'm not challenging the permission, dropping like he dropped that New York State of Mind one track. He's in there rock but but just just you know, you know you're gonna way too far, too far. He drive, reminisce with me, what the funk am I gonna do? Stop driving? Who said? Just just he reached out to Jeff Blaze, not not he didn't definitely Blazes time to I think I think Jeff Blaze could probably beat me today in the battle because I'm not really thinking about it.
But if I thought about it, I'd probably give him a little bit of a run for his money. When you're saying battle, When you're saying battle, are you saying hits y'all? At that time it was hits right, So imagine he came with the crowd, helped me to read do like the whole street out. But I got something for that too. I got something for that. People gotta understand, Like I used to make everybody, what were we doing? Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay,
let's go say you something. It's good. It's good man, love love love. Yeah, I'm saying, Twain, got that fat. I need your Bott's number. Something come in here with its pretty boy ship. Yeah, the same moving in on us, tell you something. Twin was the star, one of the stars of this show. You know some fat I don't know what happened. My unfortunate accident happened. I want to talk about here to day. So it's and you know what,
we are so proud to see twin head right now. Yo, somebody give Twin of Mike please and just let him give him a no no no yeah. Two weeks ago, Drake Chance family harm me. Thank you for the prayers. I appreciate it, man, appreciate all the love, other support and prayers have been working because I'm getting better and I'm alive. I'm here. I could have been six ft under it, but I'm here and I can keep moving forward. And even though if I don't walk again, I'm still living.
You know what I mean, I still hope. Man, you know what I'm I'm here, You're gonna walk here. Mother, I'm here. Are you crazy? A whole hands and and and and give a little blessings. We we thank you for Twin being here with us today on um and in life farm, in real farm. And we thank you for protecting him and guiding him and getting him to this level of being conscious, being loved. And we never forget all the prayers, all the deeds that has been done today and waking up this morning, it is just
a plus and Amy pray. Amen. That's that was real ship right there, serious because that's that's twins off. That's our little brother, little brother. Motherfucker's my brother too. Yeah, but listen, um, because we're very scared. We don't sure you want to stay right there. He's good, he's good. But you know, usually I asked you to take a shot because something but that I want to go. We love right now there, that's right, motherfucker. But okay, so
now Swiss, I'm ready. What's up? So we're gonna take it because you was getting into the battles and you was talking about we gotta we gotta complete that store. So he said, we don't want to find out who he as he said, just blaze me who he asked. Timberland asked, okay, you know I battle any one of them today too. That's right work, you know, that's dance. So Kanye stepped up. Kanye stepped up to the plate. He was a game rob this moment. You know, she
was like, Kanye, is this now? Definitely don't got blod here. Let's keep him the backpack on he had a backpack. The backpack backpack Kanye know, like, what was what was Jesus big Jesus piece uh Okay, Louis Vutan sneaker, Kanye is Jesus walks colors drop out nights before Jesus? Is it that time? He was hot Kanye Kyan Pepper, Kanye Kanye Kanye. But I respect that I gave him the concept and he was just like, all right, let's make it fresh. And the craziest part I was like he came.
I told him my playlist, He told me his playlist. I kept my players and he changed his players. I was like, are you sure you don't want to because like I didn't. It wasn't about no big eyes a little us know, but what at what point changed his playlist? When I was showtime, there was showtime. I heard songs that that he didn't present. I was like, so, y'all both knew what songs y'all was gonna play. I told
him I was. I never changed. I was gonna play because I just wanted to play what I was gonna play. And the songs that he picked before I thought was stronger, you know, because I didn't want it to be like, um, a big little youth thing I wanted. I wanted him to be great and I wanted me to be great,
and he was great. But you know, I think the selection um that we first it was better, you know, right, because it's not like you know, me, me going on a summer jam stage and showing off on another person. Because that man is talented as a genius. You know, he a mass of his craft, just like Timberland, Dr Dre Pharrell just blaze. All the producers their massive, their own crafts. And the one thing I do miss about music is that you know, um, we all had different
things to bring to the table. You know when you heard that sign it was a different sound totally not about a a bounce. We came. We felt like we we wanted to come with, you know. And there's a couple of new producers that's doing that and I respect them all. Like a signature sound. Yeah, there's a couple of producers on in it, and there's a couple of people that's taken advantage of the technology. But Swiss Beast
is about to make an album right now. I'm asking that sh done and then and the label says we hire some new new dudes. Who is Swiss Beasts going high producer? Why I'm not scared of new dudes. I got new dudes on my team. I respect new dudes. You know what I'm saying. Like when I say my bad, let me rephrase the question they're saying, go get some like the the producers that's trending now because it was who is Swiss gonna say? You know what I'm producing?
You like? But if you're making an album, because you know, let's be honest, your artists too. There's a lot of there's a lot of new producers are like, you know, I'm not stuck in my past. You know, a lot of producers get stuck in the pass and they don't really respect. Somebody need a goddamn fixed that. This is the smoking in the background, but my headphones don't block them out? Or who is who is? If they say, now, we said you you got three people? No, no, let's
say five. So you've got five people to to to to pay other than you to finish your album right now? You gotta love you bad with names, bro, That's just I admit to it. I'm bad with names. I like I like metro Booman, you know, you can say the song that you like the brother I like Mike Will, I like Metro Boman, I like boy Wonder. You know what I'm saying. You know, every you know, it's a lot of you know, tied snags. I like everybody that's
being creative this. You know, you got to think about this, like right, there's a lot of people that's doing music that could have been robbing our kids and our mothers and brothers and our cousins. As long as people doing something positive, like with DMX and too, he's kind of said the same thing, shout to the dog. But so you're not gonna you're not gonna call Dr Dre. That's not a new producer. Man, you just kind of just switched it up. I'm calling Dry. Just happened. You might
as well call Premier too. Maybe I'm out alowing with my questions. Yeah, I'm sorry. Let's get you a new producer. Anybody that's doing something positive with music. It's just like art. It's an expression. You can relate to it or you can't. That's why there's different genres and music, different genres and art and different genres and everything that we uh facing this world. You know, I'm not gonna sit here and play around with none of those producers because you know, um,
they all got a little bit of influence. And myself, Timberland, whoever you want to name, we're part of their DNA whether we like it or not. They took a part of what we did and created themselves. If I diss them, I'm technically this and myself. They just they're just on another platform and see another stage that they got to perform on. That doesn't deplete my stage. That just like it's a compliment of each other. You understanding what I have to do. The things that I don't like, I
have to fix. So my album, I'm like, bars, let's name of the album. Let's make a public the name. I don't know the name of the album. I don't even think that. I don't even think about no name. I just thought about like fucking up everything. That's the name of the album. But now let's take it to the first rough rideout for rough ride of compilation. Yeah, that is the difference compilation and the album because it wasn't an artist. The first rough adage was a compilation.
The first rough out of album was dmx so so the first rough out of album multiples, the conglomerate of multiple artists up and coming, known not known. You know, That's that's when people heard Beanies. First hard Verse was on the album. That's when people heard Infrared and Cross, That's when people heard you know, Eve, That's when people heard drag On. That's when people got exposed to a lot of things that I wasn't really out there yet, you know what I'm saying. And so you know, first
niggas won that first album? What what was? What was it? Because there were all separate entities, You had all these separate groups. Now just saying the compilation album, Well, we had no separate groups. And I never even knew what the compilation was before I did that album. I just knew that we was making an album with the family, and uh, we was taking everybody's verses and putting out siders on them to fill up the space. You know, I was too young to understand what was a compilation
not a compilation. I didn't give a funk what it was. I just wanted to produce the best ship and make the people feel good. And I was hungry. I was thirsty. I was going up against Greece. I was going up against Pete K. I was going up against you know, uh young Lord. I was going up against a lot of producers at that time that you know, spunk bigger, a lot of producers that had like a lot of recognition. And I just wanted to make the best music I can making. And when I looked up, I had like
ninety percent of that done. And then I've seen I looked up, I had an eighty percent of the Locks album done, no percent of E done. I even setting up extra next album done, and and you know, I just I just wanted to go hard. You know what I'm saying. Now, why are you in grease at that would like work together and looking together as a taxi situation?
You know, Um, we've grown in now. Um. I never knew why a Greece had a problem with me, because you know, my uncle when I was when I went to Atlanta, my uncle was like, you know, I got a couple of producers that I wanted. I want to uh continue the movement while while are you gone? And he took me to Young Lord's house, and he took me to Greece house and he took me to Young Lord's house. I seemed like a real stable environment. And I was like, no, young long guy like a great
he had a great foundation. I went to Greece when it's abandon building. I'm like, damn, he might need it more than young lord. So I picked Greece to be the producer at that time when I wasn't available. And competition naturally, uh turns into what it turns into, you know what I'm saying. But you know, I'm gonna just keep it positive. I didn't did a lot of things to him, did a lot of things. You know. Um, he hadn't spoken by my name since I handled the
last situation. And I'm gonna just say blessings to him and thank you for what he contributed to the frost out of the family. No sucking ship. You know what I'm saying. You know he's blocking. No, let me stop easy, Okay, Let's keep it positive. Keep positive. It's positive. It's all positive. I just always, you know, always, just notice that you know, he brought this, was was there for them very very very weekend. That's all. That's all I always sto we Uh.
I kind of like the Me and Greece back and forth, you know, because it just felt good you're talking about every whatever whatever one my dog had a fight with his dog to my real dogs. Now we really had we really had, we really had powers. You're talking about real people. I think people are polls now we me and me and Greece went back to like his dog had dogs problem. Goddamn, they don't get no rather than that, and then you know, we were talking about people. Unless
I'm wrong, I'm talking. He let him tell you, you know, okay, let me let him tell you. And then we we and we eventually got into it and we had to handle it like men and whatever. Knew that I respect him as a man, and I respect him and respect me as a man. I agree to never talk to him talk on his name negative, and he agreed never to talk on my name negative. And uh, if that was done, then we just did with the consequences. But
that was the deal that we made. So I can't be even here on this show today and talk about that man negative. I respect him. He made a lot of hits for dogs. He's a great producer. He put a Hollom on the map. He put a lot of people big yell as well. Right all that you know, my my dad managed big al you understand my favorite ear my dad. My dad is serious. My dad was a party with my fami boyfriend out with cool Hirk.
Him and cool Hirk was neighbors upstairs downstairs, so those beginning parties, my dad was a part of those parties. I never even said that ship public. Now you did, chance serious start. Let's just make some noise for that, lamb lily. So now so, now, when is the moment where Swiss is like, I'm that nick because we all went crazy. I went crazy. Mins is night night. I think it's probably called the bet for TV. But I'm not gonna save my eyes because it's your interview, Like
what is like? What is the like? I mean, not not crazy, I'm just saying, what is the part where you said, Dad, I made it? Because the thing about exactly when that was tell us, tell us to us. Um. You know, when I got into music, I never understood that it was a business. I never understood that it made billions. I never understand that it saved so many
people from the street life that were living. It was just something that I lived in, seeing every day growing up in the South Bronx and then migrating back and forth to hallm. You know, it was something that we were playing at MPVs, Land Cruises, you know, or the Covans. It was, it was just it was just the way of life naturally. And you know, when I was doing music, you know, I was already count millions on the weekends, you know, and I hated money because it was it
was it was, it was messing up my phone. I was counting money on the weekends, millions of dollars because of that, because of the business that half of my team was in, and so I never really cared about the money thing like that, all Iceberg, Jacobi Jar, Nordica, all those things that was being passed down to me. I never had to really buy those things. Yeah, all of that, I speaking all that. So, you know, I
was brought up fresh. I grew up in the hood Jackson Avenue seven hundred department to E. I can't say that I had a bad I can't. I can't. I'm not I'm not from I'm five, Okay. I can't say that I had a bad time in the hood. As bad as the hood was, like, I never had a bad time, Like I really, I really had like a lot of fun. I really, I really miss all my friends that uh not here to celebrate rank chance with
us today or not able to see that shot. I feel like it's seriously like, yeah, let's celebrate all the Yeah. Great shout out to everybody that's not head to celebrate tonight. Yo, I can't believe BOCCARDI listen. I drink the whole bottle with y'all. Know we're gonna listen. I'm supposed to go to leven after this. Yeah, turn out alright, look it back to it, put it down. I love him. You know that's the remix of he just. I'm gonna be honest. This is a problem right now. You're gonna be honest.
Tastes like Puerto Rico. Somebody's cool. You get your tam match. It is some Puerto Rico. Now, I'm gonna tell you you why because every time I eat French fries and porter because a little birds come over. You know what's up a French fries in Puerto Rico. I want to talk about the French fries and you never eat friend talking about and say, of course, everybody tell them not to go to talk about where you go. I'm nice in part I ain't never eat fries in Puerto Rico.
We got no in Porto Rico. This is a little blackbirds. You know these little birds, they're fucking nuisance. I know what you're talking about them this game. And then right right there to you like, yeah you ain't working with that? Where did we end off? I was really I was really about to get into man is where drink chance? Fuck up a drink chance? This is this is our downfall. This is you know why, because we should lose the legends,
we should lose what we gotta do. So now now you were talking about where you grew up the apartment because we were going off your family and cool Hurrican all that. I just burpt from ship. I was like, that's ulble card if it's a card car. It was great. I was amazing right now. I can't my birthday smell good? When I birthted, I said, I like it. It's just kindly shout the bus around bus arounds and hit me like are you on the shew yes, shout the bus man.
We had for two point five seconds, but he was that quick. No, No, it was quite album got hit number one, so we need jug bus one, you know what. I'm yeah, get ready to go and you know, and that's what we want to do Swiss. We want to continue to salute to people that's been out here doing it. And a lot of people criticize on sometimes and they say why you don't off the new niggas, And I say, I got love for the new niggas. I listened to
the ship, but I don't got new stories. Like when I sit here and we talked about band from TV right now, you you told me your own perspective of band from TV or did you did you fully get into them your own perspective. I'm gonna say something on that. You know, we gotta always be students. I would love to see you challenge the new people who haven't had
this show. I would march when we wenew the contract, quick to see the mark Like the new niggas, I'm never ready for the don't trying to have a secret conversation about me to my they got interview. The new niggas continue to sweat some So so I just like that you know what it's not about new old this and that it's about content. Content, about content kings good content. It's about with content, Yeah, but it's curated. So when they come here you're going to make the good content.
So with this platform you have, you can change everything that you might disagree with. But you just called us curating. Are we curated? Curating? That's the that means you put together? Think you know what I'm saying in my mind? Curious? That means, right? What do that means? Do you strenk chance sports? Come over here? What does that mean? When you said chance sports? Right? You think about it on
your old mine? Definitely don't believe you. Let me actually sign how much of this interview is gonna be shown? Every everything, everything your That's how we do like this that don't don't don't hold nothing out. We don't don't know nothing. Nothing's just go. Let's go. So where is I hate wasting my time? No? No, no, none of it will be wasted. None. I hate wasting you know. Absolutely? Tell you something about about Swift. I see Swiss is quick.
He is one hundred percent. Let me tell you something. He was probably one of the first producers I said I want to do. I want something like this, and he just makes it right there, like Premiere will make it. But you gotta get Premiere a rhyme do the same thing. I want to be like this and then prober like give me the roy Black, but I'll be like he'll swiss. I want some ship like this that to be like me like that. Just be looking at you, yo, like all you still like that? Like we're like I just
remember I said beat box to you. We used to be like what you know, I just I just I just have fun doing what I'm doing. Anybody want to problem come dance? When Glory I was making a fifty beat tonight and keeping six literally deleted the right. You know, it's all about your word, I think, And it's all about your dedication. Don't play around with something that you don't feel. Don't worry about what nobody else feel. If
you don't feel it, it don't go you understand. And when I was making those beats for you and everybody else in the world, which I was blessed to get out my hood from it, by my family and lifestyle from it, came from a nonfair you understand. Like I don't know what that means. A nonfair meaning not faring the results of failing. Like a lot of people are scared with this. One thinks that that one thinks, but it's like, you know, what I give a funk about
what my family think. A lot of those people that want to judge you on what they think, they just wut you for the fake ride, like let let something not go down right, They're gonna be gone, fake friends. Family is important. If you don't got family around you, you might be in trouble. Families everything I was, I was protected to own my rights and publishing and things like that because the rough ride of family was literally
my family. And I watched a lot of people come up and do the biggest things that history can never repeat again. Roman Neodles might be their male just because of that false trust and just because of that that that false judgment, and and and listen, man, you know sky is not the limits is just your view? This is all I said that A texted him. I told him, I remember, why should skies beyond limits? There's there's billions
every every start we see, there's millions of galle around. Definitely, just because we can't see past the sky, Why is that? Why should the skies beyond limits? When there's footprints on Mars, don't box us in sky is nothing? Limits is just our feel because we know that there's life and the billions of phones beyond that. And once you start getting that mentality, you just gotta go. You understand, like you know, um, I'd rather help people than hurt people. But let me
ask you this, nineteen is the best here in my life. Damn. I think two seventeen is. It's the best thing in my new life. Okay, I like that. That's a life. I like that, But the best in my first life, like I had ninety seven because of a couple of the War Report, but I was still selling drugs during the War Report, and it was terrible because people told me my album was classic, but I was selling three
for five, so it was they're identified with me. But best yet my life because of we had the praisest records and you described that year for you, I mean, that's the best year. Hungling was the beginning of my madness. I was young, no facial hairs, no you know, no hope, no guidance, didn't drink back then, neither. I started drinking at thirty and smoking at thirty cigards weed that is
I've been the whole time. I didn't want to have the car people, which I don't showed every day we and cigars on occasional vacations to be in a very festive gold boat with water and jet skis in front of me as a gold sigard. Now I'm good. I'm good. A matter of fact, give me this thing before. I've never thrown with him before. What what is this? What is this gold papers? What is the gold paper? Ali? What is it called? Shine first and foremost? Shout out
to Ali? LL tell you somebody, Ali, he's he's a conscious guy. I watched him or protect the dog in a way nobody might not ever do that again. Right. I watched him put in his hard work, dedication. I watched him support Nori. That man is anointed in the A. That's just different. Ali is just different and they don't make him. If you don't understand him, you can look pass him, but you need to look at him. Shout out to our league. That was a beauty. It's truth.
So now let's go. I want to fuck. Let's go. Let's take it, d go. Let's take us through this Friday era. I remember hearing stories that you and Jabal just beating us up. He's like the bar Jabba like single he was on, just on. But you I remember, like, like you'll be fighting too, Swiss, what's going on? Back and there? This is your past life. I still fight. He just a fight for was right. The fight was right for the power about anybody. A dummy could be physical.
A dummy could be physical. A genius can be mental strategic. So my my fight now is with greatness, Like let's kill him with positivity, Let's kill him with great ideas, Let's kill them with let's killing with culture movement. You understand, like you know, I used to couldn't take words. Like a lot of people talk a lot of words when they're influence all these things on the table. But I'm like, you know what, I know, you don't even know what
you're doing. I got I got people that called me every day wishing I had a problem with other people. I know, somebody's bothering you. Let's go, I'm gonna nobody bothering me. Like you know what, there's enough of us hurting us going on today. We gotta stop it. We have to stop it. But it's like we got to develop a patients within our own circle. You understand. We might think that like a person no better, but based
on that person's upbringing, they might not know better. You might be an o G. You might be a general, he might be a pond, and the pond is gonna make the most mistakes. We got a guide that pond into being a future general or o G. It's our job if we know better understand. So it's like they could have been I could have abused my power and twenty of my homies could have been doing a bunch of times, and I would have took care of their
family just because that was the protocol. But it's like, if we can help people more than we can hurt people, and we then that we're doing we're doing it, and we're doing a justice and and and our ecosystem. You know what I'm saying. The easiest thing for me to do is the do something disrespectful. It don't take no thinking to do something disrespectful. But the most respectful thing to do is something respectful. Listen, bro, let me talk to you right now. I know you feel like this,
Why are you really have a problem with me? Because well, I ain't never even really say that. Most of the beef and depths over miscommunication. If you really listen to the conversation, it's a miscommunication, you understand, And we got to have a tonnerance to understand the dialogue of the communication to indicate if it's a violation or miscommunication. A violation we gotta deal with accordingly. Miscommunication, which is most of the times you go home to your family, had
gone to my family. I give your hug man, I'm happy to meet you. If you ever need something on your in the side, let me know. If I'm on, that's something to call you. Let you know. I meant a lot of ogs, real official, authentic ogs or for miscommunication, but the intentions of non violation, you know, I'm saying, it's a difference. Like a lot of people I came, I came, and um, they don't even know the code.
They don't know the codes, and it takes a lot of ogs to explain the code, you know what I'm saying, Like there's not many olds anymore. There is, but not that, but hold on being examples. A Swiss favorite and hip hop period. My favorite in hip hop is the nineties. And the reason I'm gonna say that is because ninties period night, because that's because that's take years beginning to hold that. Then because eight break, you know, I just
felt like we were very experimental. It was very experimental. Everybody wants to sound different. Everybody's the goal was to be as far left as right as possible. Understand um, Now nowadays it's sounding like one producer in respect to all those producers. But nowadays it's an easy fix. It's like when before we had to like this table right to get to fix. You understand, it was a process and now it's like a program process. And no disrespect
to the technology or that people using technology. I use the technology, but you know, be as that versus you can How are you going to be the producer that you want to be if people think you're three people? When I was Swiss, I was only Swiss. The only thing I can say was I was so Swiss that they thought it was Swiss Beats was a group. I used to be in the em like Yo, where's the rest of Swiss Beat? Stay over there? And I used to sing around one over here, this one's coming in here.
Being later it was like, you know, the us that you was making it was so big that they thought you was You was like many of people, you know. And my thing that I say the producers is like, yo, that was you know, challenge yourself to be uh greater than the radio right And I'm sorry this is crazy, but is there any producer that you hate it? Like you this nigger got stopped. There's a lot of producers
that's fake. But I can't say that. You know, hate is a is a big word, not not not hate like you don't want him to succeed, but like, damn this this thing is like Jones is not correct, Like you don't even get those people the time of dating and over there, you know what I'm saying, like my ads hard of THEND you to culture until what's right? I listened to feel like COUTI Bobma, they shot Day Noriega, different different things that you know, I gotta, I gotta.
I got a variety of the sound cloud of my own brain. Even uh, you know somebody that's like being a little on those lines of faking this and that. Did you ever were you ever sample like heavy, like sampling old records because I don't I hate with people sample bad for TV. Let's just come on, don't change something. People keep trying to say this right here right now every time I ask you. That's why I'm asking him this, And you just changed the whole. Please go back back
to this subject. Let's run back the mark. I let when people trying to rhyme with a band with TV, let's test telling me from tvl't please leave everybody. I say that right now they sample mad from TV's and balation. We're coming to see football change. Thank you, thank you, Please leave le play with studio. I'm sorry what you were saying. You got me that time. But were you ever did you ever sample? Were you ever sample heaving on old records? I never would sample heavy if out
of the five hundred finish song dudes, you know. I know that for a fact, as I'm asking if you ever did it? So I like, I like samples. So it's my ignorance. I'm a DJ, he's a producer. This this might be ignorant question on my end. But do you think that you ushered in the production wave of
not sampling went because they changed the game? You know, um, you know Farrell thank me and Jeff Blaze thank me because you know imagine, like before I started not sample and Puff Daddy had the James Brown samples total and all these different groups on smash and I came with these non samples and the reason why I came with the non samples because everything I was sampling, I felt like somebody was stealing something from me. I'm like, I just sample, it's like hey, and then he stole my sound,
like no, that's not your sound. And then I got a U Yamaha and one or whatever, the Core game one call a game one, and I just started playing playing what I felt was good. And you know resci Pec Calv you know and in Halem No you know him keV cos you knows. You know what I'm saying. And I just was using the Core one and doing my thing, and I the reason why I liked it was because what I what I came with was unpredictable, and so I knew that nobody can come out with it.
And I also knew that they can clear. There's no samples to clad. So what you heard right now, you can put out tomorrow. And that was like my my marketing, marketing playing at that time. So you don't have to share the publishing at all. I've gained a lot of publishing off of you know, That's what I'm saying. It changed the game. Yeah, I never even knew about publishing until I got the check I never I never knew the process of a publishing check, never knew a process
of royal teasing mechanic. Who's all those things? Where do we learn that? Who teach us that? Nobody? What are we going to ask at school? They don't'ta teach us ship. Nobody don't teach us anything. You know, we just a part of this environment and we where we're creative means and we do we feel that's right. Nobody never talked to us about the business. And that's why and and two thousand seventeen on forward, I'm going to teach the business. I went to Harvard just because just so I can
teach the people the business. I want to teach you are I want to teach you business for free. Education should be free, knowledge should be free. You understand the whole these things back from us? And then how are we going to get to the next level? How are we gonna seceed to the next level? We don't know what we're doing. We're just happy to make a sound. You understand what's the parameters of that sound to make our families living a better life other than a gett
that we was brought up in. You understand, like my whole hood is dead. I don't know nobody in my hood right now, you know what I'm saying, Just like, damn, I'll go back to my streets. I want to build parks, all these different things. I don't know these motherfucker's. You know what I'm saying. It's like you wasn't around. Who is this? He might dance on me, you know, saying my man, who with a bunch of things like you know what I'm saying, Like I shouldn't be over here
like this. But it's the reality of reality, and we gotta face him. We gotta change it. Everybody want to, uh talk about change, but the only change that we're gonna have us within. We gotta change with each other. You understand what's going on in Chicago, gotta change, what's going in New York, gotta change going on in the world. Gotta change. And that's when I come within. And we gotta be smart enough to change those barriers and those rules.
Put them guns aways and think more women's moms white. She gotta my wife, Guys, my wife got I got seven am in the morning, was like, I'm going to the women's March. I'll be back at three o'clock, I'm like, seriously, she just did She just didn't even tell me about she just did it. And when we gotta be as men, the women is more powerful than us. I believe so the one no, I know when they stick together, no period, The women is more powerful than us because the devotion
to um realism is different. Like we were, we're like um, we're trapped in a lot of different things. Ego, this man power, that ship don't mean nothing like the women. If your wife tells you she don't mess with nobody, don't mess with that person. She's gonna see something that you don't see. And we think we got all answer, but she was like, yo, I don't like him in the house. Don't let him in that house because the reason why you let him in the house, she's seeing
why she don't like him in that house. He went to the bathroom, went to the taller and watched her hand to flesh your color. That's disrespectful ship. She's gonna tell you that I'm gonna go to your house, wash my hands, fush your tiler, make sure to sit down, respectful ship. Crue the enemy gonna come in and disrespect your home. Piss on the toilet, see on your floor, and you're telling me gonna check my rocks. Now we're going until you can piss on my world. Downtime. You
ain't been there a long time. If you don't come outside, you know, before we get out of here, I gotta bring this record back one more motherfucker time. This record is so motherfucking New York.
